Im westindian and Moved here from TO and couldn't find any decent westindian food. Friend from work recommended this place so I tried them. Two large dinner and a soup $52.00, way over priced. Got the curry goat and oxtail and red pea soup. Jamaica standards. Well...... Soup was okay but no seasonings, lots of potatoes, very little beef and one spinner (Large). Goat was okay at best and the oxtail and gravy was burnt. Rice and peas over cooked. 1.5 out of 10. ????

After a busy day and visiting from Calgary, I was craving some home cooked Caribbean food! Well,let me tell you, the food here is off the hook delicious!! The atmosphere is authentic and the Staff made me feel like I was home. Not only did I have the Jerk Pork dinner, I had the Fried Chicken and a Beef Patty as well. If you like Jamaican cuisine or have yet to try it, come here. I know I'll be back in days to come!!!

My. Go to place when IAM in Edmonton. The oxtail was on point. Curry goat awesome , at the Scarborough standards lol, and the jerk chicken straight good. Good portions and excellent customer service. Just make sure you order your chicken ahead of time. It goes fast

I'd rather eat dog food than this flavorless food. Worst experience where ordering on Christmas, everyone was disappointed. We will never be back here. Not to mention has a white person ordering here, you could be more polite and treat everyone equal. It's not fair to pick favourites based on your own ethnicity. Shame on everyone who works here.

For someone not too familiar with Jamaican cuisine, I found much to enjoy! Their meat is well cooked and tender and the sides are flavorful and interesting. The staff is very friendly and the wait is slow, though lots of people seem to order it because there were constant deliveries going out.

But today they went above and beyond, not only for providing a fantastic meal, they also provided me a pink ting. Best Jamaican restaurant ever. Everything on the menu is to die for. I had red peas soup to begin, then oxtail and it was oh so delicious. The steamed veggies tasty and done just right. Other members of my party were also pleased with their order which consisted of fried fish, fried dumplings, beef patties. Time between ordering and getting served was a little lengthy, but it was all worth it wait.

Was very disappointed with the quality and taste of the food. The chicken was dry and cold, the rice and peas were bland. Did not like the fact that the sweet and sour sauce was placed all over the rice and chicken, on the side would have been better. Should of just bought a jamaican patty, i would have left happy. Overall the place looks nicely renovated and the server was nice.

Jerk chicken wad good. $3.5 for a beef patty. One star on 5he patty. The utensils you get are the cheapest things ever. The knife couldn't cut through hot butter, and the fork you get is like eating rice with a teaspoon

Love the jerk chicken. Spicey, but doesn't burn a long time like curry. The dough balls are delicious but often sell out - got to get there early. Not a typical western restaurant experience - definately worth giving a try though. Not the best choice for young kids or if you don't like spicy food. Has an assortment of Jamaican drinks and beers. Update: FYI the large jerk chicken is enough for 2 people, so plan accordingly.

Ordered through Doordash. The Oxtail and Jerk Chicken plate was *chefs kiss* AMAZING. The flavour was robust and smell - tantalizing. However, I only got 1 dumpling in my order when the app says "dumplings". Fix to singular form and not plural, because I truly would've loved another dumpling. Also, add plantain or a veggie dish to the 2nd option of this combo. Too much rice and peas, variety is the spice of life.

For me, the best Jamaican restaurant so far. We come here often that we got to know the owner Mary and her husband. They are good people. Everytime I try Jamaican food from other places, I can't help but to compare it to A Ya Mi Deh's food. Their oxtail is the best.

So I decided to give A Yah Mi Deh a try. So so glad I did. Got an oxtail and jerk chicken combo and it was delicious. Will definitely try them out again in the future.

In giving this place 2 starts because they keep changing their open times, I drive very far to go their because the food is amazing but they don't update it. I've seen 2-3 other people come and LEAVE because they were not open at the time posted and I've only been here 10 minutes. I can't imagine all the business they are losing because of this.
