Amazing service! Jesse and Derek were both exceptional! I came in last minute with a flashing engine light issue and they were able to figure out the cause, order new spark plugs and an ignition coil and fix me up and have me on my way! Amazing guys honestly! Took the initiative to even make mention of a bulb outage and fix it for me as well. My new mechanic!!!!!!

I took my car in for servicing and new brakes, a few weeks ago. It was my first time coming here and going to new mechanic is always nerve wracking as you don’t know if they will be honest with you or not. Terrible. Absolutely disgraceful. Takes advantage of women and friends. Estimated over $800 in repairs to a single mom. Sold the vehicle and a man got the repairs done for under $300. Now this female has to use all savings to buy a new vehicle. She never probably needed to but every time she took it in it was costing so much money. But u der $300 would have been acceptable. I dont recommend this business. To anyone. This just proves they've been ripping her off for years. Mind blown!

This review is long overdue! I was a student at Trent university and lived in Peterborough for 2 years. I drive a very old car that gave me nothing but problems and I could always trust J and M automotive to help me in a pinch - they eased a lot of stressful situations by being reliable, understanding and reasonable! Overall, just genuine down to earth people - Jesse and Derek are the definition of prime customer service. Great guys, super-fast service, and even better prices. Been here several times, over the last year, and always treated like family. Jesse and Isaac are very approachable and friendly. All my wife's vehicle maintenance and repairs are done here and if you’re a husband you know that it matters with her vehicle even more than your own that’s how much I trust these guys. Also noted they work on high end foreign vehicles too so no so highly educated in their trade. I know this sounds hyped but it's true these guys are pros at their craft, I was directed to them by a mechanic working at a major company's garage. Enough said. I highly recommend to give them a chance to prove just how good they truly are, you won't be disappointed.

After a mobile mechanic had initially told me nothing was wrong with my van, then Dodge had quoted me $1,300 to replace the two front struts and do an alignment, I gave J&M a call. Derek walked me through each step and was very informative as well as professional. Derek and Jesse are professional, friendly and effective. But most of all, they have a ton of integrity - something hard to find these days. Unlike the typical dealership where you feel like you're stuck in a glass jar full of mosquitoes, these guys are just real. They get you the best price on parts and charge more than a fair price for the labour. Last year I was in thinking I had something really wrong with my car, but was pleasantly surprised when they told me the issue was minor and a lot less to fix than I imagined. When I brought in my car today I had another great experience. Add consistency to their list too. Keep up the great work guys!

Good shop, got an oxygen sensor done here. They had to do extra work because the wire was fried but didn't charge me another full hour for labour. Can't say that about most shops these days. I recommend them and will return if I come across a problem I can't fix. Prices are on point.

Good mechanic team. Good service. It's a long story, so I'll summarize. After receiving some of the worst automotive service I've ever experienced from another automotive shop, I set out to find a new mechanic. I found J&M Automotive. From my first encounter with J&M Automotive when I booked a checkup because of muffler and a/c problems, to their friendly and informative giving of information without trying to intimidate, belittle, or take advantage of me because I'm a woman, they repaired the muffler fix that they did that I was not happy with without extra charge and answered my questions without rushing me. The building and waiting area is basic, a bit dusty and wheelchair accessible. The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Their location off Chemong is convenient and easy to find. They offer a drop-home service if leaving the car with them for the day.
