The owner called me before working on my vehicle and told me there would be an extra 100 dollar cost for dog hair removal. I was fine with the added cost but was a little surprised that this wasn't accounted for in the gift card I received, as the person who bought it for me knows I have dogs.
When going to pay, the owner continued to sweep for a couple minutes before coming to greet me. He then commented on the fact that I must have very large dogs. I took the opportunity while on the topic to ask why I was being charged 100 as opposed to 50 (the cost for pet hair removal on his website). He simply told me "because it was bad".
Given that the price changed arbitrarily, I wouldn't recommend gifting this to anyone with pets, as the owner is likely to just make up a number he feels appropriate. I am not saying there is anything wrong with charging more for work extra work that he feels he will need to do to accomplish his task, but the lack of communication on the website and with the person who bought the gift card is concerning. I simply offered advice that a note of "extra costs may be incurred at the discretion of owner" beside the 50 dollar pet hair charge would make a little more sense to a customer. I also advised him the person who bought the gift card was not advised of extra costs for pet hair removal. He was defensive during the entire exchange and told me I was calling him a liar.
Interior work was good nonetheless. Outside was a little lacklustre.
Not convinced this is worth 350+tax
