Used to swear by and recommend Kal tire to everyone, but stopped a few years ago because of a few bad experiences back to back... Faith was restored recently when my daughter had a flat tire after hours and I had BCAA tow the car to Kal tire for repair. They called me the next day and had fixed the flat at no charge even though the tires were bought at Costco. I'm glad to see that they are back to the excellent service I used to rave about!

Dropped by Kal-Tire today just to get a slow leak repaired. The lady at the counter got me in right away and the wait was reasonable for showing up without an appointment. Despite the fact she was the only one on the front desk, dealing with customers on the phone, in person, calls waiting and managing work orders for the mechanics, she seemed to hold her comportment even though you could clearly see that she was overwhelmed. The service I received was great. However the 3 stars is for the owner to have a closer look at ensuring there is proper support for front line staff when they are the face of the business. Hopefully this employee is recognized for her efforts today.

I needed some tire work and this was accomplished in a reasonable amount of time at a very fair price. The location was clean and warm with complementary snacks and drinks available. The staff also welcomed my dog inside which was an appreciated touch as he loves popcorn! All in all it was a very pleasant experience and I would not hesitate to recommend them..

I had a bad puncture in one of my tires while travelling during the long weekend to Comox from Northern Alberta that was not repairable. On Tuesday morning I started shopping for a replacement tire. There was not a single replacement tire for my F150 to be found even from Ford. All I could find was one used tire of a different brand and type. I had called Kal Tire first thing in the morning and didn’t get through so I moved on. After spending over 3 hours on the phone calling all over the island and ready to give up I remembered I never got through to them. I called again this time getting through. Not only did they have my size but I had 4 choices of tires to choose from. Not only that but they could get me in to have them installed in just a couple hours even though they were busy. We were treated with complete kindness. Our dogs were invited to wait inside out of the heat and were given treats and a big bowl of cold water. Highly recommend!

10 in Customer Service! I have had the experiences of driving through construction sites and on two occasions have aquired nails or screws in my tires. I have been to Kal Tire twice and both times there was no charge! In these times it's hard to find customer service such as this!!!

We had the most fantastic experience with Kal Tire today! One of my tires had a slow leak, and the others looked low as well. When my partner agreed to pick me up, he noticed his tires also had a leak. They managed to fit me and my partner in to help us with two cars, on what was clearly already a busy Saturday. I can't express our appreciation enough for their prompt and friendly service. The staff there made a huge difference in our day, and the whole experience was fantastic start to finish. I came over on the ferry to visit my family and as I was traveling up the Island Hwy. , I got a flat tire so I phoned Kal Tire to see if they could help me out, they were very busy but asked me to come in first thing the next morning, so I took my car in the next morning and I got in right away, they fixed the flat for FREE! and they were done in less than 45 minutes! The guys that work there are very nice and understanding, very, very impressed with the service that I received from them and the other Kal Tires that I have been to. That is one of the reasons that I will always be a Kal Tire customer, amazing service and people work there ????

Mr Kal tire was a very nice man. His handle bar mustache and corduroy suit reminded me of Hong Kong Long Song. Also sometimes you go in the door but then you can't find the exit so you just Ly down and have a power nap and when you wake up you have tires instead of feet. Or you may go into the Courtenay location, but when you exit you find yourself in Winkler, Manitoba. That happened to me once. I had to walk all the way home. Someone gave me kale chips and a banana popsicle in a truck stop knife fight. It was alright. I was alright. The world is alright. Everything is alright. Kal tire is more than alright because it is extremely alright. It has the good.

I live on a rural island and had a flat tire I needed fixed. I drove it over on my way to work on my donut. The site said they will deive you where you need to go so I chose Kal tire. After drop off they informed me they will not transport you now due to covid. I walked & was to pick up my car at the end of the day after work. There was no call from them, just a text that my car was ready for pick up. When I arrived at the end of the day my car had not been fixed & I was informed the tire was irreparable. I asked if they put on a new tire then & she replied "no because we don't carry this brand of tire". Now at the end of the day when everything is closed or closing, I still have a flat tire & am driving on the temporary spare going back to a small rural island. Thank goodness ok tire stepped up, after they were closed to assist.

We were traveling on holidays and my husband noticed one tire was flat. Stopped in at Kal Tire and they came out right away and found a nail. We were told it would be a couple hours wait and that was fine with us. We still had to travel to Uclulet. Well within 10-15 minutes they had the van in. I'm writing my overdue review, and looking at the other ones here, I can't say I'm surprised. We were on vacation in late July/early August from Calgary, and noticed our van was making some strange noises and leaking coolant. It was the long weekend, and was only a couple days from our return drive to Calgary, which wasn't going to happen without it getting fixed. Turned out it was a puncture in our radiator (which we just had replaced 6 months ago in Calgary). I originally took the vehicle to Honda, seeing as my van is a Honda, and they couldn't get me in in time. They recommended Kal Tire, which to be honest, I would have never thought of for anything aside from tires. Glad I did though. These guys bent over backwards to make sure that the part got in in time, and they juggled their schedule to fit the repair in for us as well so we could drive back to Calgary. Not to mention, they discovered it was an install error from our local mechanic that caused the problem. I was in a desperate situation, and they could have just fixed the part and moved on. They went as far as writing up a long report detailing why it was an install error, AND circled the puncture hole with paint and wrapped up the radiator to be taken back to Calgary to show the original mechanic. Happy to say that I was fully reimbursed here after they saw that. I'm actually blown away by the level of service Kal Tire offered. They've gone to the top of my list in the future. We did notice the little extra tuneup you did too, so thanks!

I purchased a used vehicle and based on the previous owners verbal account of events backed by documented service history I believe the following to be accurate. The previous owner had the vehicles brakes serviced here in Aug 2013 which included resurfacing of the front rotors. This required removal and reinstallation of the hub and wheel bearings. I purchased the vehicle approximately in 2016 (5000km after work completed) and have driven roughly an additional 17,000km. Last week I needed to remove the hubs and bearings. I was shocked to discover the driver side bearing lock nut to be only finger tight. The locknut should be wheel nut tight (100-120ft-lbs). I thought this was odd but hey people make mistakes. The grease was still nice and fresh (red) and overall looked like it had just been repacked yesterday, so I considered myself lucky the bearing retaining nuts hadn’t backed off. When I got to the passenger side I discovered the bearing locknut and ring were completely destroyed with broken pieces laying inside the hub. The spindle threads were also stripped (spindle ruined) where the locknut would have rested. The bearing preload nut was torqued to around 100 ft-lbs far above specification, the grease in the hub was black and smelled burnt. I can’t imagine a scenario where the individual performing the work could be unaware of the damage that occurred during reassembly. Which suggests that a choice was made to leave the pieces of the locknut and ring in the hub, perhaps in hopes that when the bearings failed the carnage would be interpreted as some kind of impossible failure. Amazingly the bearings didn’t fail. I can forgive the damage however I find it deeply concerning that the damage, however caused, was not repaired before the vehicle was returned to the customer.

Left my Toyota Tundra with Kaltire for the day, fully expecting hundreds of dollars in repairs to the TPMS system. Kaltire went above and beyond by looking at the system, re-programming and testing. All this for no-charge. As I am shopping for full sets of tires for two vehicles, they have my business, all of it. In an auto service world where 99% of shops take your money for even looking at your car, this is a pleasant change. Well done Kaltire. I give you five stars!

I would like to extend my gratitude to the staff at the Courtenay branch for the excellent customer service they provided for us. We were one our way to Alert Bay from New Westminister when we noticed our right rear tire was very low. We were able to put air into the tire but needed it repaired. We had stopped at a few other tire places and they were willing to do it but we would have to leave it with them which was not a option. When we arrived in Courtenay we called Kal tire and told them of our situation. They said bring it in we will do it in between other repairs ..this was at 4:00 p.m. even though they closed at 5. When laurielee let us know they were finished and handed me my keys she said "No Charge" It was just a screw in the tire, no big deal.. I was literally shocked when she said this and this is why I have to share this experience. This is the true meaning of customer service equating to customer satisfaction. I have worked in the customer service world for 20 years plus and it was so refreshing to see this level of care to a customer from New Westminister all they way in Courtenay. Thank you again Kal Tire.

Excellent service as always. Got a screw in the tire during winter when it was super busy, they patched it within an hour. They didn't charge me a thing for it either. Staff is always super friendly and nice. Went in today because my front left tire blew, they gave me multiple options for tires and price range and they didn't try to upset at all. In fact they told me the pricier ones are only slightly better then the cheap ones. The fact that they are willing to say that makes me feel like they care about there customers and want to give you the best bang for your buck. If you need tires in the Comox Valley then I highly recommend Kal Tire.
