It was ok. Did the trick. But you have to get tokens to put in the machine. Well the machine to get toxins ate a $5 bill with no coins coming out. After about two minutes of pushing the eject button tokens finally came out. The when machine that took the Tokins ate 2 of them and didn't even give me time on the machine. Just over priced, long line ups and machines don't work well. On top of that there are no staff to help you

Went in to get my oil checked after buying my car from a mechanic. Ryan told me my the oil was perfect and to check in again in 1000km. I appreciate him being honest and upfront. He topped up my other fuels at no charged and changed my wiper blades. Service was super efficient, staff is always pleasant to deal with and prices are reasonable. Will definitely be back again!

Always try to get an oil change here when I get lazy and don't want to do it myself. They work very quickly and don't try to up sell you with any useless or unnecessary work. They staff is always friendly and if you get the need for coffee and snacks they have you covered. Also there is free Wifi as well so you can leave them a nice review while they work on your car.

Just drove up in my 06 Ford focus and was able to immediately pull into a service lane. The staff were fast, friendly, and informative. I spoke to Lauren, an assistant manager who works with her team very efficiently from my observation. I was impressed by how organized and clean the workspace was compared to my previous experience with other organisations. Also present was a gentleman named Daniel who I was told was the bosses boss. It is always beneficial for the customers and staff to observe high ranking employees working side by side with everyone else. If your looking to get an oil change, coolant flush, new wipers, or just a car wash I would strongly recommend the knowledgeable and component staff at the Great Canadian Oil Change!

I thought I needed an oil change since I go by mileage and was a bit over. When I arrrived to this location they took a look and my oil was still okay to be ran for a while longer. They then filled my other fluids up and set me on my way without charging me for anything. Overall it was a great experince. Friendly staff and very truthful. I am going to go back to this location in the future for my oil changes.

I recently had my GTI's oil changed here and they placed the oil filter ring back in upside down during the process. Not only did I lose most of the new 'premium' oil onto my garage floor, but I have just had to pay to have the work re-done correctly somewhere else. I would have expected a service provider that specializes in oil changes to get something like this right.

Very impressed with this location. The staff went above and beyond my expectations. I happened to notice they replaced headlight bulbs. My vehicle is a pain in the b$#t to change, but they were very willing and able to do it. They located a burnt/melted wire. Jumped on the phone to local auto store, ordered the part, the boss/manager drove over to pick it up, and they installed it as well as the light bulb! All in under 45 minutes!! Just writing to let people know, as per the staff, this business no longer accepts used oil for recycling. I spoke to a rep at the recycling Council of BC, next local place is, surprisingly, the Hallmark store at the Guildford mall. Staff seemed annoyed that I had asked. Now you won't have to.

Not only did he mention this, but he also called to find me the best price, when I mentioned that I’m unfamiliar with Lordco he had them rush over the new part, AND he then installed it for me. During that time some of the other staff members came to offer me coffee and hot chocolate, chatted a bit, and kept me informed as to what was being done to my car. Hands down the most pushy upsell staff, worse than a used car dealership. I have been using the location in Abbotsford for years and they are excellent. The Langley location is completely unprofessional. I have also thought maybe it was just 1 bad experience so I went back 2 more times and exactly the same horrible results. Do not go to this location. 1 particular staff member seems to be way more confrontational and pushy than the rest. Spend your money elsewhere.

Been here several times and on different visits I've felt either honored as a customer or ripped off and objectified. I've had staff go out their way to give honest and useful advice, or brush off my questions like I'm not really worth helping. It wasn't busy either time, so I guess it depends on who is working. Tip: if you get me in the door with the promise of a car wash code, don't be in the habit of always "forgetting" to give me the code.

I was having an oil pressure warning, I drove straight from work and the guys at Great Canadian Oil Change were 10 minutes from closing, but they took a look for me! So I went inside and the Manager Rob was more than happy to come outside and walk me through the process. Living 15 years in Calgary. These automatic car wash are everywhere since winter you need to wash the road salt off the vehicle often. So I know my car wash better than most here. There is 4 options (I posted a photo) from $9 to $15. I wanted to see what they had to offer so I did their top option $15. Price is $1-2 higher than I seen in Calgary for the top 2 options. The bottom 2 options are in line with what I seen. The wash itself was rather disappointing. The wash about half the time I experience. For example the dryer was 45 seconds long but other places I been to give 90 seconds. The under and side wash went fast. I didn't feel like I got two high pressure wash. The bug stains were still on my bumper and side mirror (see photos). When I wanted to complain they were all busy changing oil. Unfortunately there's very limited automatic car wash here. Not like this area needs it compare to Calgary. I would opt for a self-service car wash instead. It's cheaper and clean better than you'll get here. If anything go for the $9 or $11 option. The rainbow foam and rain-x is a waste of money as it's on the car for less than 10 seconds before it gets wash away.

I was extremely impressed with the honest approach from the employees of this establishment. I went in for a routine oil change. Unfortunately my car battery was causing trouble and the car refused to start. Fortunately Alex and the rest of the team were patient and tried everything to help me out. Just went through the car wash and it didn't even dry my mother's car. It skipped the rinse stage and then partially dried and then said it was done. We left the garage and the car was DRIPPING STILL. we used our back window wipers to dry if the back window and then dried the door handles with paper towel. Usually this place is great but not recently.

I came to Great Canadian Oil Change in Jan 2016 just before closing just to get a transmission flush- I new that I needed one. I had been anticipating hustle and sales, BUT the employees that helped me were very kind and courteous, offering me a free drink and newspaper. Since it was my first transmission flush, I was originally surprised at the cost, as I thought that the price would be comparable to an oil change. The woman helping me kindly explained that what I needed was more expensive, but still double-checked with her supervisor to make sure I was getting the best price. Aside from simply asking if I also needed an oil change, there was no up-selling. She was patient and understanding with my questions. They even checked my other fluid levels upon request and said that they were all good! They showed me the color of my fluid both from the top bolt, and showed me the bottom bolt with all of the metal bits (and dark grey goo!!!) stuck to the magnet on the end. Seeing the condition of my old fluid reaffirmed that I had made the right decision to come in. …Thank you for a great customer experience!

While I was on my way to Woodgrove Centre, one of my windshield wipers broke off and went flying across the road. Yes--it was raining quite heavily and that added more to my dilemma. Needless to say, I knew Great Canadian Oil Change was nearby and within moments upon my arrival, I was directed to pull into the first bay. I asked the service technician if he was able to replace my wipers and I requested the best they had in stock. Once installed, they asked me to test the installation with a first swipe. Across the windshield they glided without even a squeak. The service was impeccable and in particular I would like to thank Callum for going that extra kilometer. I felt valued as a customer. Have them do an oil change on one of my trucks. They proceeded to do damage to the fan shroud which caused a chunk of it to get caught up in the fan and go through the radiator over $2,500 in damage. Luckily I had change. The 'change' machines only give out tokens which can not be used in the car wash bays. They don't tell you this. Also the soap leaves a blue dye on your skin and clothes if you get any on you.

Used the car wash and paid for the premium service. One of the blowers was out of service, so half of the car was poorly dried and the other half not dried at all. When hand drying the car in the parking lot I noticed soap left behind and a difficult to clean residue. The whole car is now covered in it and nasty water spots.

In fact he told me there was no point in getting the change until the leak was fixed, it was that serious. He showed me where it was and how to fix it. In fact he even offered to help me himself after he got off work. I didn't take advantage of that, but it was nice for him to offer. So he topped me up at no charge and off I went. The BIGGEST RAVE on the planet for Mark and Ryan from the Great Canadian Oil Change in Courtenay. I went to the Great Canadian Oil Change in Parksville today to get the oil changed and rad flushed in my vehicle. When I got home to Deep Bay, a 42 kilometer drive, and turned off my vehicle, water came spewing out. I tried unsuccessfully to reach the Parksville location by phone they did not pick up, nor when I finally did get through did they offer any assistance or possible solutions except to say someone would call me after 5 PM. No one ever did call me back. I did not realize that the Great Canadian OIl Change shops are individually owned and run independently from one another. I phoned the Courtenay location and spoke with a man named Ryan shortly after I got home around 2.30. I told him my dilemma and that I also needed to be on the road early tomorrow to go to work. He offered to phone the Parksville location for me and see what he could do to help.. He phoned me back after contacting the Parksville location, who had not offered any help or possible solutions. Ryan offered to come and take a look and possibly fix my jeep for me if he was able to, when their Courtenay shop closed at 6 PM. I still did not know at this point that GCOC businesses were individually owned and operated. Ryan and his work partner Mark drove all the way here from Courtenay, a 43 kilometer drive, after their work day to help me when they had absolutely no obligation to do so whatsoever. They came because they care about the individually owned and operated Great Canadian OIl Change franchise they work for. in Courtenay. Ryan and Mark were able to get the issue figured out. They would not accept any money for coming to help. If you live in the Parksville area and need an oil change in your vehicle it is worth your time to drive to bypass the Parksville location and go to Courtenay or to one of the two Nanaimo Great Canadian Oil Change locations as they are owned by the same person that owns the Courtenay location and I bet all three locations have exemplary workers with excellent customer service skills. Parksville not so much..The Parksville GCOC location doesn't deserve anymore of my hard earned dollars. I feel like I got totally ripped off and at $120, a rad flush is not a cheap service. Ryan and Mark, you guys are shining examples of good humans. Thank you so much.

I am a customer of Great Canadian Oil since I moved to Langford (Victoria BC). Today, morning I was driving from Campbell River with my family includes two kids, suddenly there was a noise started to hear under the car, splash shield dragging off and makes noise. It was in 10 minutes driving distance to GCOC at Cumberland and when I arrived asked the young gentleman about problem solution. They helped, fixed and we continue our way to home safe. Fast and easy. Just drive in and get your oil changed. No appointment or car drop off needed! During the oil change, Great Canadian also tops up the Window Washer Fluid and does a very basic 21 point inspection like checking the Air Filter, Tire Pressure, and checking the Coolant and Power Steering Fluid levels and colours. The employees are Technicians with interests in auto but are not Mechanics. If you have any other issues that don't need immediate attention but you want reviewed while doing an oil change - get your oil changed at your Mechanic. Otherwise, Great Canadian is great and convenient for all your oil changes!

My guy was pretty short with me. When I asked for an oil change service he told me what it would cost, and then asked if I wanted anything else checked. I figured this meant extra stuff so I said no... Now my receipt shows that nothing got checked, even what should be included in the oil service (tire pressure, other fluids). It says 'customer declined checks'. I didn't realize I had to tell him to do everything INCLUDED in what I'm paying for. I've worked as a Mechanic and that's not how you do things... And then the machine prompts for a tip...

Took my Chevy 1500 truck in for an oil/lube and filter change. While I was there they told me that my differential oil was milky (water contamination). I know that this wasn't true because I just had my pinion seal changed and the oil was changed at the same time. After a day of driving in salty/wet conditions I noticed an appreciable amount of oil covering the differential/undercarriage and spare tire. After taking a quick look it was easy to notice that they had forgotten to put the inspection/filler plug back in. I went back to them (in my other vehicle) and told them what had happened. He was nice enough to give me 2 1/2 litres of royal purple gear oil (good stuff) and said for me to bring it back and he'll take a look. When I returned the next day he was able to determine that everything was fine by looking through the hole. I now have a mixture of petroleum based and synthetic based oils, and whatever else I picked up during the time I was driving without a plug. I think a full differential oil change would have been more in line.

We went to the Great Canadian Oil on Metral for the first time and had a great experience. Everyone was wearing masks, at least one of the bay doors was open to allow for great air flow, and when handling the POS terminal they wore gloves. I noticed that the keyboard on the computer was also covered in a plastic mould so that when cleaning was completed it isn't going to affect the functionality of the keyboard and reduce risk of transmission on a very high touch surface. While I didn't get the name of the three guys that completed our oil change, they were very friendly, patient, efficient and thorough. They showed us the oil quality both before and after the change as well as our air filter. The tech in the pit did a quick inspection of the overall system. They provided options and topped up our windshield fluid (at no extra cost). One of the techs even cleaned out the dried up dead leaves caught between the hood and windshield, which was extremely courteous. We didn't feel pressured to get any additional services which is a big relief. They were clear about the cost differences and readily answered any questions we had (I.e types of oil) and even double checked on type of oil to use as our truck is relatively new and has very low mileage for its age of just two (2) years. I would highly recommend getting your vehicle serviced at this location. The car wash was also excellent.

This car wash has both wand wash and touchless auto wash. The touchless wash, at $18 cant even get dust off your car. I have used it twice and both times as soon as it dried all the dust was still all over my truck. The wand wash is generally ok though the equipment is extremely old and many of the settings are all worn off you dont know what your selecting so have to guess. pressure is mediocre at best but its a wand wash so I guess you get what effort you put into it.

Wife and I have used this location for both vehicles quite a few times and always received good to great service...until today. Had a boy named Luke service us. No matter where I go, I always do I high rpm check (2500-3000rpm) for 5-8seconds. Reason is to ensure the oil filter isn’t compromised (cross threaded or not tightened properly) under more rigorous circumstances. I’d rather do this than have my filter fly off on the hwy somewhere and my engine seize. Never been an issue anywhere I’ve gone. Until today. When I explained the “why” to this young man, I was told “this is my shop, and when I tell you to turn it off...you do so.” The “normal” is 2k/rpm for 5sec. Fairly pretentious way to speak to an informed paying return customer. I had not seen this guy in there before, but after talking briefly with the manager, we will be taking our business elsewhere.

I went in today and had Callum help me out. He went above and beyond by cleaning out some areas of my engine compartment and making sure everything was good to go. Will be back for this kind of customer service.

Always had pretty good experience there until last time . They have a check list they ho through, and the one guy looking after me sure didn't want to be there and couldn't get me thru fast enough... the print out I got said I okay ' d many things but they never bothered to ask me . I had to ask them to check air in tires, lights , and fill my coolant but they only filled halfway. I told them my filters all needed changing , they checked 1 but I have 3 , and they didn't have the 1 they checked so sent me on my way . The guy was rude, mopey... and for $118 , I felt totally ripped off. Won't go back!

I recently did a road trip to California and the kilometers indicated oil change required. I went to this Langley location and I was turned down for an oil change. The tech showed me the oil dip stick and the oil was infact clean. The tech basically said that he didn't want to charge me for an unnecessary oil change. Really honest people. I just hope all other employees are the same way. I will definitely be coming back.

I got an oil change and got my fluids checked here a few months ago. I just found out from Nissan that my rear diff is blown and the fluid was sludge. After approximately 3,000 km there is no way that kind of build up could happen if my differential fluid was 'all good' as they reported to me. It was the first time I had done an oil change on my 2015 Xterra so I got the fluids checked to make sure it was all good. It clearly wasn't! They managed to miss that and I have to replace my rear differential.

Unfortunately they are not adhering to mask policy, one older gentleman who worked there did not cover his nose with his mask, Walking up to my car. Customer next to me did not wear mask with closed bays and windows down. This is against provincial policy. Due to that I will go elsewhere in the future.

I had a great experience recently at this location. Went in for an oil change and Davis was amazing! Very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. He assisted not only with the oil change but also fixed a light issue I had and he had to jump my car with his own car when my battery died. I will definitely be back!

Went to use the Dog wash, no warm water was available and had I known that , I would not have used this business. All they would have to do is post a notice to customer "saying dog wash is out of order" Locking device to secure the Dog on the wash table is still broken for many months now. The non slip mat does not stay in place. No heat was on inside the dog wash. The Phone number posted does not work.The Dog wash area is in a state of disrepair . Previous times the machine took the money but would not turn on. That was the last time I went there, just a terrible way to run a business and take the money from the customer.

I was pretty skeptical going to any franchise to get my oil changed after reading all the bad reviews for many oil change stations. but after working on other parts of my car for a total of 8 hours today, the last thing i wanted to do was change the oil. so i crossed my fingers and got it done at this location tonight. i was pleasantly surprised. i had a coupon for a 32.99 basic oil change. Lucas was the guy i dealt with. He was super friendly and polite and told me the total cost it would be including enviro fee and disposal fee etc. and asked if i was okay with it. He showed me the condition of my other fluids and asked if i wanted them changed right away. There was no pressure at all to say yes, and I declined. I figured it was the standard upsell they mention to everyone and i had already spent a couple hundred bucks on other things for the car today. it was quick and easy, Lucas was friendly and i didn't feel any pressure to buy more services i wasn't planning on getting already. job well done

I’ve been going here for years and have always had a good experience. Today I had a terrible experience. My dad and my brother are car guys who do all my maintenance, I go here JUST to get my oil changed. The tech I had today was pushy, condescending and rude. I told him my transmission fluid had been changed within the last year and he implied that I was lying as my fluid was “darker than it should be”. He alledged that since 2015 I’ve required my transmission fluid be changed and there is no record it having been done. It’s been done, just not at Great Canadian Oil Change. He proceeded to continue on about the transmission fluid during my entire service and assured me that “they really do know what they’re talking about”. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back - the service I received today was inappropriate and unprofessional.

Good place to come for oil change. Staff was professional and friendly, no attempt to upsell unnecessary products/additives. What I liked was being able to see what full synthetic oil was being used, hearing the seals cracked on the bottles - knowing I'm getting the quality product I expect, and not some unknown oil from a drum in the back. I'll definitely come back.

Wasted a trip hoping to get the oil change done! Their website says they are open until 5 pm but when you reach at 4pm, they tell you that they have decided to close an hour early because the business was slow. If the hours are going to be flexible based on how many customers come to you then say that upfront or be ready for reviews from your customers lamenting their wasted time and effort.
