Sales are awesome but Service is poor. The guy behind the service desk seems like he would rather be someplace else are really doesn't care a thing for customers or their issues. The only focus here is on separating you from your cash. We have been in for service 3 times and left feeling angry and short-shafted twice. You would be better served going to a different dealer or shop for Toyota service.

Had my first service for my Toyota Rav4 here today after purchasing the vehicle at Nanaimo Toyota in June. The service was excellent and booking was straight forward. I was reminded the day before via text about my appointment and was texted when it was ready for pickup. The staff member (Ashley) that checked my car in was very friendly and made the process simple by having paperwork ready to go before I came in. To top it off, the vehicle was vacuumed and had a wash afterward (which not all dealerships do). 100% this Toyota dealership will be doing services on my Rav4 for as long as I have it!

I brought in my newish tundra for some regular maintenance. I told them not to wash it. because I've spent $800. Getting it professionally detailed, scratches buffed out and waxed. Well they washed it, and did a terrible job. They took all the wax off and probably scratched it. It looks worse than when it went in.

Just purchased our second Toyota from this dealership. Although the dealership has new owners many of the great staff remained on board.. Perry LANGLER is our go to guy for sales. He was recommended to me by friends who have been his loyal customers for years. Perry has great product knowledge and works to find you the best match. He makes the entire process from walking in the dealership to scout out the vehicles to driving off in our new vehicle. Seemless transition through negotiations to trade ins to financing%business office ( not pushy hard sales) to ICBC process and out the door with you new car. Everyone in the dealership is welcoming and asking if they help or get you a coffee or water. From past experience the service dept is exceptional. Thanks to Perry and to Penny (Business Office)

Listen to your instinct. What started out to be pleasant deal handling turned into a nightmare. Mark was very accommodating, and their accountant Carlyn worked very hard doing her best to get us approved. We spent a full Saturday waiting between different staff members to "take care" of us. But in the end, the deal still wasn't up to our satisfaction or reached our needs, so pressure tactics were then played. It did not feel right and they seemed desperate to make a sale. As a conscious buyer, I shopped around, and ended up finding a better deal that met all our demands, we went in and thanked them all for they're hard work and shook hands. Upon leaving their general manager waved us down in the parking lot and approached our vehicle. Leaning into my car, and holding onto the door, he then became extremely imposing and rude. Innapropriately asking questions that did not concern him as I had not signed any agreement and was free to buy elsewhere. Feeling somewhat threatened I voiced that I was going to drive away, because he still had his hands on my car. It left me and my partner with such a sick feeling! I do not recommend Comox Valley Toyota. They're just another sleazy, sly, scare tactics, and pushy car dealership.

Tried to order parts today . I was told I need to pay for the part before ordering . I disagreed with there policy , as a customer loyal one at that . I asked if I could pay for it completely after Toyota installs the part . Reason being as why do I have to pay upfront for a part Toyota doesn’t have ? Toyota has more money then I. I see the part I buy the part simple . Not with Courtenay Toyota . Worst Toyota dealer in Canada . Denise the parts manager should be fired . Call him have a word with him he so arrogant . I was told it’s his parts department . And he runs it that way . Period . Have a nice day. To any Military members Do NOT GO to this dealer . They do not honour there $500 off to service members . And I chose that Toyota dealer to save the $500 , that I never received .

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Horrible service, lies after lies about a deposit being held and then "returned several times" I will have waited for a little over a month and a half for a deposit to be given back. Salesmen wouldn't return our message, other finance staff were no help. Even when I called numerous times, asking for receipts of my refund being processed they never gave it to me. Asked for it through email first, she said no I will text it to you. Never got it. I will never go to this dealership again... Happy I found a dealership in Nanaimo who went above and beyond to get me a car that I love with amazing service from all departments as well.

I have had a lease with Toyota for almost 6 yrs in that time I have lived in and around the comox valley. I have made into the Courteney branch once in that time. As much as I understand with staffing shortages there is only so much that can be done it is pretty frustrating to not have them be able to provide shuttles and vehicle pick ups for servicing. When you work away from home it makes it near impossible to get your car in for service. Sadly these to things take away from lovely staff and puts more pressure on them.

We bought our 2015 Tundra a couple years back from then Rice Toyota. Have been extremely satisfied with our truck and the service we received. The salesman Perry, was low pressure and very helpful. We had been visiting him for a few years before finally pulling the trigger and buying our truck. We have again started bugging him on a somewhat regular basis as we consider second vehicle options. He is always very friendly and patient with us. His patience and low pressure attitude will keep us coming back to him first. Our truck is quite new, so aside form maintenance (oil changes, etc) we haven't had many visits to the service department, but so far all interactions with service have been great. After one appointment I noticed they did a pretty terrible job washing the truck, but I wasn't there for a wash, so can't really complain much about a complimentary add-on. Dealership is under new ownership now and I have yet to have any interactions since the change so I'm not sure what things are like today. I hope they are as good as before otherwise I may have to update this review. ******************* Dec 2020 Update: In 2017 we bought a second vehicle from Perry at Comox Valley Toyota, a new '17 iM. As we expected, great service once again. The truck has been in a few times for minor repairs and new brakes, service has always been good, although getting a time-slot for required work can be a challenge, they seem to be booking a few weeks out for most jobs so just keep that in mind.

Excellent service! I've always bought my vehicles privately and they were my first time going through a dealership, and they made it absolutely refreshing. Comox Valley Toyota really went above and beyond to ensure my experience was not only satisfactory, but also educational, understanding that I wasn't 100% sure what I was doing. In no way did I feel taken advantage of, despite my inexperience, and they were able to move on the price until I was happy with it. Kyle Rayner was my salesman, and he did a great job using his personal car purchases as a comparison to some of the decisions I should/shouldn't have made. If there are skeptics reading this who think I am naive and got fooled, my dad was there with years and years of dealership-buying experience and he was also very happy with the deal we reached, and with how they treated me. He even talked for quite some time with the business manager about their boats, so the personal connection the dealership reached with us in just a few hours made us happy to have chosen them. Will be back for my next car.

I recently went into Toyota as they are the best and it was time to upgrade from my 05 Tahoe. Thought I'd go into the place in Courtenay to take a look. From the second I walked in I could feel their no pressure atmosphere. The girls at the front desk were helpful is setting me up with Laurie and Terry who made sure I was treated amazing as i ran numbers and thoughts through my head. I bought a used car from here in March 2021 and it was a positive experience all around. Mark Hoskins and James Evans really tried to understand the kind of vehicle that would meet my needs and I am very happy with the vehicle they recommended. The best Toyota Dealer on the Island no question. We were shopping for a Tacoma back in the summer and many dealers were just not feeling right. Standoffish at times and not very enjoyable to work with. Laurie was very good to deal with and we had many communications before a deal was finalized via talk and text which worked great for me. All in all, was the best new car experience I've had and the sales managers and finance staff were great too. Will definitely recommend anyone taking the drive to Comox Valley Toyota if they are looking for a Toyota. We are very happy with our new Tacoma as well!

Drop off time is not service time. Be ready to leave it all day. They charge customers for simple servicing $100 oil change. The service staff go for lunch all at the same time and they make excuses for their staff. Car wash staff stood around having a soda while our car sat unfinished. Poor appointment management and uncaring staff satisfied with defending their own status quo. Take a lesson from Ford. This is for the Toyota Near Costco.

Called in to Toyota this week to book a test drive on a new Tacoma. I have been driving a 1993 Toyota 4x4 for the past 5 years, so it was time to upgrade. I was greeted by a friendly voice in reception over the phone that directed me to sales, where John Dewitt was happy to schedule a drive. The entire experience was great, and I never felt pressured or pushed. John did an excellent job explaining the features and details of the new trucks and the differences between different packages. At my recent service my alignment was somehow altered, after getting the defence mode runaround from the service desk, I was told they were refusing to correct the issue. I guess the cost of an alignment is too much to keep their customers happy. Do not recommend and will not return.

I had an appointment to have my key cut on Friday and the salesperson have to delayed my appointment to Tuesday because the key cutter was in hospital. I canceled my appointment 4 days before but I still get charged. It's not my fault.

0/5: Regular service done a few months ago. Was not performed to standard, inspection sheet wasn't filled in or incorrectly filled in. Added 'special fluids' without asking and then proceeded to charge extra money for that. Basically got an oil change done for $200+. When I complained I was yelled at and a $20 bill physically shoved in my hand as a 'refund'. When I refused to accept this, I was physically intimidated. Manager took about 3 weeks to respond to an email complaint, which did not resolve the problem.

Don't wash my car after the service if your only going to wash half the car. It looks terrible, and when you charge $169 for an oil change service the least you could do is give the car a good wash! Then the service guys asks you to give him a 10 out of 10 on the survey you get. Not!

I had an awesome experience dealing with this dealership! I had been shopping around to get a good deal on a new Tacoma and dealing with other dealership prior and having previous bad experiences.. Comoxvalley Toyota made up for all the other dealers that left a sour taste. Very transparent when dealing with sales. The sales manager James was very helpful breaking down all the numbers and made me laugh throughout the process making me feel more relaxed. Got my frame coated with anti corrosion paint due to a recall and they totally oversprayed my aftermarket 1200$ upper control arms and the bushing wich will need to be replaced now. Sprayed it all over engine and exhaust and stinks like burning rubber now when I drive also they missed multiple important spots including a whole cab mount

Today I took my vehicle into Comox Valley Toyota to be serviced. When I dropped it off the service fellow that helped me made a comment about how clean it was and looks brand new. I do honestly take really good care of my vehicle it was immaculate. When picking it up I was very disappointed when I got inside. There was mud all over my mats and the door panel as well the sill plate. I would think when their working on a vehicle they would cover the mats and the seats. I would think the vehicle would be returned to the owner the same way it came in. To finish it off they did not reset the maintenance reminder on my dash. Now I am inconvenienced and have too go back just for them to have to reset it.

Had a brake inspection done on the wife's Tundra. The braking is fine now. The mechanic failed to torque left front wheel. A few days later all lug nuts on that wheel I could spin with my fingers. Comox Toyota avoided a law suit by me being diligent and re-torquing my wheels.

The sales rep was great, but I found the financial rep exhausting. He was very high energy and seemed (fake)friendly enough but not helpful. The car we looked at was overpriced and he was not willing to budge on price. When you're already feeling stressed about buying a vehicle and when someone isn't willing to offer a solution but just keeps repeating the same thing they've said a million times isn't helpful. They need to listen more and not give their over used sales pitch. Be willing to compromise and read the persons energy. If they're stressed or low key do not try to overpower them with sales gibberish.

car went for the air bag recall, shortly after leaving the dealer CEL came up. as i had to catch the ferry i took it to a local shop , found the down stream O2 sensor unplugged under the carpet at the pass. foot area. i paid to install a new O2 sensor and i am not asking for any kind of compensation. it is enough for me to make everyone aware . Facts :- 1- no one else drove the car but me 2- old O2 sensor is good and the electrical plug is in good working order. it will never get unplugged on its own for any reason. " still have the old one" 3-carpet area plastic tab was missing. 4- My Local shop technician is willing to testify is that the O2 sensor was unplugged deliberately. this act is so despicable to the point that will never trust , communicate nor recommend this Comox valley toyota Please be aware , especially if you are from out of town and/or you are a women. too bad there is no star option for cases like this

I walked in today at Comox Toyota in order to gain knowledge regarding the Tacomas. TJ met me at the door to welcome me. He was accommodating and very helpful. When I presented him with a situation which was beyond his capabilities, he immediately handed the situation to his Sales Manager, James. He then exercised his authority to meet my request stemming from the noted situation. Both TJ and James were “down to Earth” and pleasant to deal with. They presented me with “No pressure” approach. My experience with this dealership over the last 9 months has been nothing but frustrating and almost laughable. Ive had my 2018 tacoma in to fix an air conditioning issue (under warranty) at least 6 times plus 2 separate trips to diagnose the problem. Every time a new problem has been created. I now have a vacuum leak issue since my last visit to fix the AC, which is still not fixed and I refuse to take my truck back to this dealership again. Highly recommend going else where.

I bought an used Audi A4 from this place, within a week it started to show up oil change light. When i took it to the mechanics they said there is a problem with the engine and then i contacted this dealership again, they said sorry we can’t do anything. I ended up selling the car with more than 10k in loss. Very bad experience

I had the pleasure of dealing with Izik when looking for my new car. I gave him a narrow list of vehicles I would be willing to look at, and he managed to work within my requests and put in me an excellent 2010 Corolla. He was straightforward, respectful and I never once felt like I was being pushed into anything. He worked with me to honour my request of having an independent mechanic check it out and was always available to answer my questions. I did also have excellent service from Carlyn in the finance dept and a shout out to James for taking care of both myself, and my partner who purchased a few months earlier. I have to agree with an earlier post. Drop off time is not when they are going to work on the car. I’ve had my appointment for several weeks and dropped off at 10 am. Should have been able to pick up maximum of 2 hours later. We are now at 4 hours and I had to tell them not to bother washing it as I need the car back. Plan to leave your car for the day is what I would suggest.

No pressure and no talking down to me. They all just wanted to help. I bought a 2020 Rav4 off of Izik a couple weeks ago and would love to rave about him!! When i walked on to the lot i was prepped for a pushy sales man to walk out BUT i lucked out and Izik walked out! He answered every question i had about the car and at no time did i ever feel like i was pressured into anything. He let us take our time with the decision and when it came to talking numbers i was really pleased with the end (even getting roof racks included in our deal for my paddle board!) After the purchase he called to check up on everything and was always welcoming questions!
