Here you will see all the opinions of people who are buying the services of Canadian Tire (Car Wash) in the area of Courtenay (Canada).
As of day this business gets a score of 4.1 out of 5 and this rating is based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is very high, and it's founded on a very high number of scores, so we can think that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they've done well with the business, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to place tatings when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Car Wash corresponds to the category of Department store.
Huge and well-laid out store, with plenty of stock. Missed five stars only because cashiers were unorganized at the customer service counter and openly griping in front of customers. Please inform them that they should never be agitated or short with clients, or show their frustration with their jobs.
Top of the line security system. Great customer service. Superb ownership and management. All in all one of my best retail experiences in a long time. Highly recommend.
I noticed the shelves were perfectly faced which can't be easy in a store that big
This has to be the very BEST Canadian Tire I have ever been in. It's just a fun place to shop in because of the variety of excellent products, totally organized and clean. Best garden shop in the spring. Just LOVE this store!
Awesome service
Excellent as always. Three new shrubs and a bbq tank exchange.
Good prices for gardening
Very helpful staff, taking pride in doing a good job. Koodos.
Good store, well kept, lots of parking
I always find everything I need with there wide selection.
I think this is the only Canadian Tire that does not allow you to bring in your dog. This is really the only point of differentiation that would make me choose to shop here over any other box store. As a single pet owner, it can be challenging to go out with your pet, especially on a hot day. Knowing there is a place to go in if we need something while out and about has always been such a selling feature of Canadian tire stores. Very disappointed to be turned away today.
Hmm website said 18 availible in the store , head from Comox to courtenay, and sure as sh.. None AVAILIBLE!!?? I
I don’t know whats wrong with them, but auto service department tried to take advantage from a women who have least car knowledge and almost made me pay $300 just without even knowing actual issue. Truly Fraud!! Be careful!
A beautiful bright clean store but terrible service from many of the floor staff. My experiences range from being totally ignored while staff chat between themselves about personal issues in the middle of an aisle to begrudging assistance being offered only to have the staff member disappear never to come back. The front end staff at the tills are 100% fantastic but management could fire half the floor staff and none of the customers would know the difference.
Great service in the auto department at a fair price.
They have a good selection of gardening stuff, the camping section is great and most things are easy to find.
I got an out of province vehicle inspection at this location. I booked it over te phone, I was never quoted a cost, I didnt care because I needed to have it done. I was told it would take 1 hour. That day, 28 minutes into the service I got a call I needed a piece replaced and it would cost be an other $85.00. I said sure, because I needed to get BC that day and they had the time. I was told it would be an other 40 minutes or so. 30 minutes later I got a call, all done. Awesome fast service.. so I thought. I went to pay my bill and it was almost $500.00 showing on the debit machine, I was in shock and just continued the payment. I wasn't shown my bill before paying, I thought because of covid they didnt want to many people touching papers. My mistake. Got to my car and looked at my bill.. I was charged for 2.5 hours of service and I was there for just an hour. On top of that, a bunch of other service charges I was never told about. I was confused and upset so later that day I went back to speak to a manager. No one was in the automotive department, another manager told me she would leave a msg for the automotive manager and that he would get back to me the next morning. I never got a call.. I waited all day and by 4pm I figured I wasnt getting a call so I drove back over to Canadian tire. When I pulled into the parking lot I got a call from Dan, the automotive manager. Apparently, Dan was so busy that day he couldnt have called me and that he was leaving for the day and would call me tomorrow if he could. I heard the msg and quickly ran inside to catch him before leaving. I found Dan and I experienced the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. I explained to him how I was confused about the charges and how I was never told about these extra hourly charges, shop charges etc. Dan told me "I dont believe you. My men would never not quote you those extra charges" I tried to explain I was only ever told about the part piece costing an extra $85.00 which I was all good to pay for but I wasnt told about any other charges. I told him I wasnt even quoted for the orginal inspection over the phone! "I don't believe you" "Im not arguing with you" . So disappointing and I was belittled in front of other customers. He asked me why I didnt question it when I paid . I told him I didnt get my papers till after I paid and that i figured it was because of covid. Dan told me that was my fault and that maybe I should have looked before I paid. And that it was a lesson to be learned. Dan tried to tell me they charge that much an hour because thats how much hi employees make an hour. I know people who have worked there and no, thats not even close to true. I was straight up lied to by their management and tried to be taken advantage of by their staff. Needless to say, I won't be going back.
A friend and I were on vacation checking out the island when our power steering suddenly died on the highway heading into Buckley on BC Day. As it turned out, our engine mount loosened, serpentine belt blew, and we needed a full retiming of the engine. The day after the stat, not a single mechanic was available within 5 days to help despite there being a dozen in Courtenay. Canadian Tire was available to take us on short notice and went way beyond getting us back on the road that same day, including rubber fitting the worn engine mount into our car so we could get back home without waiting for the part. Big thanks guys - you salvaged our trip!
The staff were helpful in the garden center and our cashier was delightful.
Helpful and friendly staff, good pricing, and good quality items!
Found a lot more in this store then in CR
Literally nickle and dime'd me when returning faulty product, wanting 15c store money or off return. Way to make me not want to shop there again with such a ridiculous policy.
Only there very briefly but staff was friendly and shelves were stocked.
They treat customers like thieves. I'll go to Lordco and Home Depot before I shop here.
It's a CanadianTire. What's there to complain about
I just got off the phone with Al in the Auto department, what amazing customer service he provided, thank you. I will definitely call here again to seek auto parts. Well done.
Roomy and pleasant staff
Took my JDM Subaru here for an inspection in Oct 2021 and found out my car needed a bit of work to be insured in BC. The staff (Ron in particular) were very good about explaining to me what needed to be done (and why!). After a few weeks spent acquiring all the parts I needed from a scrap dealer I brought my car back and they were able to do all the work needed to get the car to pass the inspection. All credit to the Canadian Tire Courtenay team. They were helpful, knowledgeable and patient with me as I had never done this before. Wil be bringing my JDM Subaru back to them for any future service needs as they clearly know what they're doing.
Great store to shop in
Great service, awesome price, and availability
Well organized and friendly staff. Lots of parking.
I picked up one item. Went thru a cashier " in training" her name is Maya. She did very well. Service with a smile & quick too. Will be back. ????????
Got the car in very fast thanks you guys !
I bought my mom a great flashlight here
New to Canada? This is our one stop shop for engine oil and KitchenAid mixers.
My "go to place" for most hardware used around the home. Best part is the helpful staff and the great customer service. Warranties and returns are hassle free.
Miss the small town homey feel of the old Canadian Tire. Very difficult to return items. I took a coffee pot back the stank so badly of plastic I could not drink the coffee. Their staff was so unhappy that I was returning it. She said she could not resell the item as it had been used and she was not going to let me return it. Well, sell better products. That is why I shop at Costco. Their staff is always cheerful and they have an excellent return policy. If you are not happy with the product you can return it.
Always feels like your visiting a friend.
Just like all other Canadian tire s
Love the new store. Prices seem to be up but more products. Lots of sale price items though, and that's when I buy. Love the you can also enter through the mall. Hope it will bring in more stores to the mall. Nice washrooms
The workers are always friendly here but there's far and few in between when you're looking for something and trying to find someone you spend about 10 minutes just to get some help.
Fav!
Awesome store with friendly staff. Can’t wait till Boxing Day!
Looked for item on line, told me where in the store to look for it. Excellent.
They have a wonderful garden center
This review is an edited version - my first review described a terrible experience I had in this store. They have since redeemed themselves (the employee I had trouble with doesn't seem to be there anymore) and recently they went way out of their way to get me a second strand of Christmas Lights. Thanks so much for your efforts. It was greatly appreciated.
New location was supposed to be easier but the new security features of the building make getting out a hassle if you don't end up buying anything
They had canadians and tires it's pretty much all I wanted
Great staff, asked on the way in, good directions. Fast in and out. Priceless!
Lots of parking, great staff, connected to a mall Lots of inventory
Following all protocols. No issues
Everything is in good order.
Had what I wanted - on sale!
Found my radio and channel in there!
Canadian Tire. What can I say. An institution of Canadian hardware and DIY dreams. Add to that housewares and a garden center and they almost have it all.
Always carrying what I need
Its staff are rude but has things needed.
It's a Canadian tire, what can you say?
Usually good, for some reason the Nanaimo one appears to have better sales.
A lot of great tools and people here.
Love the store.
Had to get my winter tires put on here cause it was the only place on the north island with the right size. And they obviously don't have experienced mechanics back there cause they destroyed all 4 of my brand new rims while switching my tires and all they could do was say "sorry". Thanks for that
I saved $150 bux on an item regularly priced at $379.00
What can you say? Canadian Tire is the go to store for everything, except groceries and lumber. Good parking and store hours.
Helpful staff, great service!
It's hard to pay full price when you know it's probably going to go on sale the next week. Thankfully if this happens, you just bring in your receipt and they will give you back the difference. Or you can wait for it to go on sale. Maintenance side of things are a different story. They seem to over exaggerate things and won't always give you a straight answer.
The staff here are always so friendly & helpful. Store is kept immaculate. Variety of items to buy in the store.
Lacks so many things , normally have to travel to Courtenay to actually find what I'm looking for Stores so outdated
Easy to find what I was looking for. Friendly cashier's.
Good store but overpriced items
This door is actually bigger than it looks. They are usually well stocked.
Big and clean store. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Big store. Saw Canadians and tires!
The layout of the store is a bit different from what I am used to but overall it's not as confusing as some stores I've been In
What a surprise!! Just moved from the mainland to here. Let me tell you this location is 10 times better in every way, cleanliness, service, selection, organization, heck even the prices seemed better. I was blown away at how nice it was in there. Like a candy store. My faith has been fully restored in Canadian Tire once again. Dropped some heavy bird in there today, no questions asked. I woulda kept going but the cart got too heavy. I'll be back for the rest soon, that's a guarantee. Do yourself a favour and go to a Canadian tire in Surrey or Vancouver and then come here and you'll know what i'm talking about, night and day.
Great CT, fast tills and helpful staff.
Great staff. So much selection. Great sale items. Clear lay out. Great location
Really appreciate that I could return an air mattress, no problem. The staff was helpful and courteous. I'd suggest Canadian Tire not carry this particular item (outbound queen double high air mattress) as the reviews are terrible, but the return is what mattered to me. More generally, I've had a lot of great experiences shopping at this store.
Found what I needed.
Everytime, someone amazing who works at Canadian Tire Courtenay, goes out of their way to provide the best customer service!! They rock ❤
Tried to get a price for an oil change. Guy will only give me a range of $60-$100 or more. I have car details but he refuses to look up the price! Guess what. Oil change elsewhere!
Never had a bad experience here. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
Always a good experience while visiting this Canadian Tire location. Helpful staff always willing to lend a hand in helping me find everything I am looking for!!
This new store is way too big - it is massive and for anyone with any disabilities it's overwhelming especially when you also consider there are only TWO (2) parking places for the disabled. Just getting from your vehicle in the massive parking lot to the store is daunting. There needs to be a bin with detailed maps of the store and what is in EACH aisle. Unless these things happen we won't be back which is not good since we use a CT MasterCard and in the past got a lot of things with the Canadian Tire Money we accumulated (retired disabled seniors). We were regular shoppers at the smaller store.
They had a couple good deals and carried items I couldn't find elsewhere. I wish I didn't need a card or app to get "CT Money" rewards program. Should be able to look it up by phone number, or even tie it to my debit card, or to Google Pay. I feel a little ripped off every time I shop there: penalized with a 5% sanction, for not wanting to carry another card or install an intrusive app. (even though the 'reward' is now actually <½%.) ???? I used to love shopping at Canadian Tire.
I bought a cabinet .. love it!!!! Good service as well once we found a young man.. it was very busy in the store
Great help finding everything.
Big new store but staff are new also. Have a great selection.
IT SMELLS LIKE RUBBER AND IT MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE
I love Canadian Tire.
Love Canadian Tire.
I am very disappointed in the layout of your new Can. Tire Store in Courtenay Vanc. Island. I wish a designer would take a trip bk to Kingston Ontario & see the new store they put in there by the 401...it is a fun store to go into & gives one a wow! when viewing the whole store... I have heard several peoples remarks on this store on the only one entrance and the parking now due to where the garden centre was laid out there is very little parking near the entrance... In retrospect...whoever designed the layout of the store has done a terrible job. The entrance & exist makes one feel that there are more thieves than honest customers....I am very disappointed and miss the old store now.... Sincerely, Eileen Montgomery Comox BC.
The guys in the shop went above and beyond helping me get my truck lifted. They took amazing care of it, kept me updated along the way and blew my expectations away. Hands down would go to these guys for anything automotive related. Thanks again from one very happy customer!
A huge store and helpful staff !
Had what I was looking for.
Well kept store, helpful employees.
Staff are taking the covid19 social distancing very seriously. Overall good shopping experience
Great Auto Repair....fair quotes and good repairs.
They had no wash brushes and was hard to get any direction . Leaving my bag at the front desk I am not comfortable with at all .
Great customer service. Cole in the automotive was very helpful.
Great! So many healthy plants to choose from
Had bad experiences at Canada Tire before, which I wrote off due to lack of experience of the staff. This week wanted to buy a Hoover Steam scrub Vac online, for pickup, but both my credits cards failed to work on there online purchasing system. These same cards just worked fine purchasing a holiday and an item from Amazon the same day, but not the Canadian tire website. Well that $89 dollar item went up to $125 today for the Black Friday Sale, for the same model, and items number. And both the assistant manager and store manager at the store that ordinarily I'd choose for pickup, were rude. Even with a department manager saying that was just the way it was, should have bought it yesterday, and than walked away when I asked another question.
I am visiting Courtenay and was in a serious car accident yesterday-my car was written off. I am without a car and went into Canadian Tire to get one thing and immediately someone came up to me and said I had to leave the store because no dogs are allowed in the store, (I was holding my 7 pound chihuahua). He then proceeded to tell me that there are signs on all the doors about no dogs but I checked going out and there was no sign on the mall entrance door saying no dogs. In Vancouver I frequently bring my dog into Canadian Tire and have never been asked to leave because of him. Very unpleasant experience.
Love the sales.
Can be hard to find someone to help you locate something you need. All the staff seem to be at the front running the tills ;)
It's nice to go into a franchise store and actually find staff willing to help. Canadian Tire almost always have what I want and the prices are almost always the best.
Hit the garden centre for sure! Lots of great plants and great prices. People are always helpful here. You can get a plant card and for every 10 $ you spend on live plants - you get a stamp - when the card is full you get $10 off.
The only Canadian Tire I've ever been to that's not pet friendly. 1*
Always great sales all the time!!
Dont visit the auto department. No clue . Over charge and never have the parts they say they do.
Quality gear and good service.
Great place and good sales prices.
Automotive team are great, especially when breaking the bad news that my car needed more fixing than we thought. Lady at the front counter was unnecessarily rude, didn't like her tone at all. If you're in customer service you should speak kindly to people
Great selection and helpful staff.
Big store. Well serviced.
Truth be told, I'm not a Canadian Tire fan at all. Most of them need MAJOR coaching in customer service, and many of their staff are downright rude. But THIS one is good. Classic small town experience. Friendly people and the usual huge variety of very fairly priced stuff. I say do it!
It is a good store but their prices for sand are too high. HD has 55lb bags of play sand for 7.63. CT has 2kg bags for 14.99
Amazing store with great managers and team members.
Fast prompt service
They are doing a great job Through all the covid policies
A Canadian legend. Found the plants I wanted at reasonable prices.
Best place to buy hardwares and game items, gun collection - gud
Large well equipped Canadian tire
They have everything you need. Great deals and excellent payment plans for credit card holders. Also get Canadian Tire money with your purchases that can be saved and used on future purchases. Friendly , helpful staff.
Great deals but staff is hard to find for assistance
The store is busy and well stocked. You can buy a wide variety of products from electronics, housewares, plants, automotive supplies, furniture and even clothing. It will move to a bigger location in the spring/summer of 2016.
Always a pleasure to visit Canadian Tire. No matter where you are in Canada the layout is very similar so easy to navigate.
Huge store.
All the plants my wife wanted but no vinegar for cleaning
Great deals and good staff
Pretty good selection of different bulbs. Nice Christmas displays.
Most unmotivated workers I've ever seen they would rather openly ignore you than take the 3 seconds to answer a question
Store is better more selextion in new location.
good
I was looking for some wood in hardware for my new project. One of the friendly workers there, Tin, was super helpful and nice.
Always take care of me and my vehicles well
What's not to love, its Canadian Tire. Store Manager Keith, and the staff do a great job of keeping the shelves stocked and they have excellent customer service.
I always love canadian tire.
The parking in front is a little sparse, but you can park in the back by the auto center in the daytime.
It's pretty obvious that the staff at this location have better training and job fulfillment than at other locations. People here are friendly and helpful. Yesterday I was staring mindlessly into a display case and was actually asked by an employee if I needed some help, can't think of the last time that has happened to me at CT.
Not the powerhouse it once was. Past few times I've gone in there staff (specifically in the auto department) have been knowledgeable and often rude. Nonetheless, large selection of goods if you know what youre looking for
Not dog friendly ???????? while other Canadian tire stores even ask you to not leave your pets in the hot car this store doesn’t care apparently. We’ll be shopping somewhere else!
Pretty good and cheap oil
Always a joy shopping at CT
Top of the line automotive service department. Had a problem and was resolved without delay
This is one Big Store! A huge selection of goods that the smaller CT's simply don't carry. Don't get lost in here!
Clean, great covid prices and very big????
Awesome store, it has everything you need and more!
Helpful staff...
I have shopped at CT for many years. It is the only large general retail hardware store in the area . Overall, it has been a reasonable shopping experience .
Was happy to see they hired security to enforce mask rules. After a recent trip to home depot with 2 customers not wearing masks properly and not being asked to leave, I'm going to stick with Canadian Tire. Bought an electric lawn mower here almost 3 years ago, still going strong. Good selection and strong return policy.
They have guns here. Wish Campbell River did.
They have such great service. Their new curbside pickup is awesome. Enjoy shopping there!
Thanks to the service dept. Especially Ian, peter and Ron for fantastic service and advice with our radiator problem.
Excellent all around! Friendly staff. ????
Everything's easy to find and what i look for is always available
Regular ol' Canadian Tire. Large by Valley standards, always find something I need when I go in. Good selection and staff know where stuff is, also knowledgeable and helpful.
Always friendly and large, great priced selection.
Wow. Clean store and friendly staff. I asked two questions. Where is x? Immediate pleasant answers down aisle 22 and 25 with perfect pinpoint accuracy.
This is a smaller older style Canadian Tire, it still has what you want, it just feels more cramped. The staff here are helpful and friendly. Personally I hate this parking lot however.
Good
Merchandise is well laid out and they have a huge selection of different categories of goods. It caters for the motorist, the cyclist and a host of other sports, the carpenter or hobbyist, kitchenware, fuel for open fires or the furnace plus a lot more than I can list here. It's bright and cheery and staff are friendly and helpful. You'll probably find what you're looking for.
Some flyer items not carried or locatible
Love it
Quick and efficient
We're not from here so we were very pleasantly surprised to find this well stocked and sizeable CT.
I found everything I needed for everyone on my Xmas list
Great place for all recreational goods, or other stuff.
Due to the pandemic, I've been using Canadian Tire's free curbside pickup. I order & pay online. My order is usually ready within a few hours. An easy way to physically distance & stay safe.
Always good service here
Great customer service saved my knees from walking around too much
Helpful staff
Always a good choice.
We like supporting a Canadian company when we can. It's pretty much our default stop for many things in our household, including camping gear, kitchen appliances and even sporting gear.
Happy with this place sofar
Every time I come here I swear I will never come back, and every time I need something cheap and quick they remind me why that is
I am newly disabled and found things difficult. Very young staff did their best but not all disabilities are visible
These have excellent service as well as customer service????
Great auto service at a very reasonable price. Had the front brakes on my hightop van totally replaced. When I was called to say the job was done (after a couple of hours) I asked the svce mgr what they had left out. He said he put two mechanics on it. When I saw the invoice it was a couple of hundred less than what was originally quoted. Like Arnie once said..."I'll be back!"
Good canadian tire store to shop in. Well layed out and good prices.
Way better then the one in Campbell River
I was very impressed with this location and helpful staff. I popped in at a very busy time and was helped by two staff members who definitely knew their store and product lines. Huge array of products and the layout was great. I would definitely come back and recommend.
What do you say about it... It's Canadian Tire????????♀️
What Canadian Tire store willingly refutes the entry of pets? Terrible ownership.
Terrible store. I asked 2 separate workers for help and their answer was "That's not my department".... shame
super friendly and helpful
I love this store Except finding staff is difficult
Everything under one roof and the service was great.
Always helpful and friendly. The store is easy to access from mall side or front and back door. Great hours and the store is clean. It is a huge store and carries a great variety of products. It always has a large garden centre.
Nice clean store. Great staff
Open, clean and well stocked. Staff Helpful
No backpacks aloud in the store so I didn't go in while I was waiting for a friend. Not trusting some randos to watch my bag, when the point I am carrying it about in first place is because I have stuff in the damn thing I am needing.
Excellent customer service from one young man in the parts/service area. Very nice clean store
The automotive staff here is first rate. I felt well taken care of.
They were able to cut a very odd key
Great specials & huge variety.
They take back my returns hassle free
Slow service at cash registers on Friday evening
Newer bigger store, so many aisles and so much to choose from all seasons.
I have been to Canadian Tires across Canada (solo adventure!) and I found all the staff I encountered very helpful and friendly. I also had my car serviced and I was very happy with it!
What a fabulous Canadian Tire Store! I loved the variety inside, it was clean and well stocked. The giant bear near the entrance and the giant elf in the garden centre was a neat, creative touch. I liked the fact that you had the coffee pods near the coffee machines. Lots of plants available both inside and out. Lots of bikes and fitness gear. A good selection of wood stoves and pellets. Love the creative lingo on the Frank products! Who was Frank by the way? A pleasure to shop there. ????
Love the new store
The auto repair shop is not ethical and will do unnecessary work to push up the bill. Beware and always get a second opinion before allowing them to do any auto repairs
Same as all the others !
Staff has always been great to me, but I have to highlight the help I received from a guy called Brett from the hunting department as I was looking for a specific item to gift my husband with. He sure went the extra mile even checking inside of each box until he found it. Customer service that cares and my husband was beyond happy with his present so a huge thank to Brett!
They always have what I am looking for.
Staff was kind a courteous and line ups were small all in all a great place
I just had the absolute worst experience at this store. I wanted to buy a cleaning Mitt but there 2 spots with a similar product. The spot that had 1 in it was clearance so i took it. At the till I asked the associate to tell me the price to make sure I got the clearance one. She said it wasn't but called and they said it was the wrong one so I took it back to get the correct one. I had an associate scan both. I got the clearance one and went to put the other one back and fix the boxes to be in the correct spot. All of a sudden a male employee who I know as he used to work with me stormed up and told me to stop. He was incredibly rude. I went and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was listening to me when the associate stormed up behind me and tried to interrupt. When I stopped talking he said he was sorry he was rude but and tried to justify his rudeness. That is not an apology. I stated that and told him he knew me as an hone st person from my job as loss Prevention. He said he didn't know me. The whole time he made me feel like a liar and thief. I was definitely upset and told him he did know me and he was lying. The female manager did apologize but the whole experience was very upsetting as I have been dealing with health issues that this will directly affect. Having to ask to be treated with respect in a store I shop at rather than the one I work at and get a discount on is disgusting. I love Canadian tire and always have good service and interactions with staff but I might just spend my money elsewhere if I have to worry about being treated so poorly.
I always find what I am looking for. Staff very helpful.
Do NOT pay $100.for delivery in Courtenay/Comox. You will have to wait all day for a truck from Nanaimo to do the delivery! 5 miles away! Why not a local truck?
Lots of products
Great plaxevto shop
Lot of stuff but couldnt find any stuff member on weekdays
Something on sale, on display, but when i asked where can I get this item, the sales lady said here it is. I said that's not the one on sale. She was rude in telling me that's the one we have, not the one in the picture or the one that was on display . Very disappointing visit to say the least!!
It was Fine!
Only place to go for hardware and huge selection of plants and gardening supplies.
Great for online shopping
Best Canadian tire I've been to, helpful staff and great selection
Happy staff, organized store. Easy to find whar was needed.
Lots of sales.easy access. Quick
Good selection, helpful staff and clean store.
First time in the store in Courtenay very very nice very big will go back another time
Always a great shopping experience!
Friendly staff and great service!
I still remember the space it is in being zellers, but Canadian tire is making great use of the space now. I moved out of Courtenay years ago, but was visiting when I had a problem with A tire, I stopped by and they had me on the road in no time. They even had spark plugs for my motorcycle, that the Canadian tires in Victoria didn't have. So I definitely recommend this Canadian tire
I've been to the automotive center a number of times to have my car serviced, and I always walk away happy. I have found the staff to be quick, efficient, courteous, and honest. They have never overcharged or done work that my car doesn't need (even though they could have - I very obviously don't know much about cars, and they have never taken advantage). They have won my trust and I will keep coming back.
Love their sales always have what I need
Friendly staff and just a good place to shop. Highly recommend!
Excellent staff and extremely knowledgeable with outstanding professionalism
Just went in to buy a set of tires I saw advertised in their most recent flyer and was totally disgusted with the sales rep's lack of knowledge and utter lack of interest in his job. Have always bought tires for all my vehicles at Canadian Tire but after today's experience I will be purchasing all my tires somewhere else.
Always have what i am looking for
It's Canadian and they have all you need from noob to expert
Still an awesome place in my books. Found everything we were looking for and the staff are always so helpful
The new location is significantly less convenient. Points deals are usually very worthwhile.
Everybody always looks way to busy at this location
Customer service was awesome.
Picked up my customers van and trailer headed for Florida. Trailer plug was corroded and couldn’t leave the island with it. Comox Vallley RV who sold him the trailer for $11K the day before refused to help us out. Other local shops likewise were not even willing to give us 15 minutes. Canadian Tire put a mechanic on it immediately and I was on the way 30 minutes shop time and a $50 part. Excellent customer service.
great store to work for
Nice store
Helpful staff to the max! Suggested alternative to the product I sought & very happy with it. Thank you.
Love this place for my car repairs. Ian or Dan are both the people to speak to for any of your vehicle servicing needs!
Typical Canadian Tire store
Had great service today. Used my phone to locate the items I needed and had 3 keys cut and they all worked.
Excellent store
Brand new store, recently moved to it's new location. Well stocked, with a excellent selection. One of the nicer Canadian Tires to shop at. Probably wise to make a appointment if you need vehicle repairs, servicing, etc...
Manager was snotty during a exchange
The fellow named peter dawe was amazing help and very friendly
Our Canadian tire has knowledgeable and helpful staff and a bright, clean and we'll stocked store.
Much more stock than the previous store. Staff is very helpful. Unfortunately one cannot check out in the garden area and must trudge through the whole store to the checkout are. Inconvenient and clumsy.
Not enough staff to look after customers waiting to checkout.
This location was clean and fairly organized. The cashier was pleasant and we were in and out fairly quickly.
Love their gun section, great variety and knowledgeable courteous staff
This location has good hours 8 AM - 8 PM compared to some around the island, a good selection of indoor plants, and lawn mowers, went to another big box store in town and they had 2 lawn mowers to choose from, guess that's why I ended up spending $500 on one here and it was exactly what I wanted the Husqvarna with Honda motor very happy with my purchase.
One of the best stores in town
This is the fourth time I have used the online purchase and store pick-up system. Each time it has been a very efficient process with excellent service at the customer pickup entrance. It makes large purchases very easy to make and collect.
Love the fact that you can enter into the computer at the enterance for what you need and it tells you if there is stock and what isle to find it in. Always someone there to help.
Canadian Tire has a lot of things to offer for every household needs as well as paints, and so forth. I love to go around the store and browse almost every sections except the tire section which I do go to when I need too. Love Prophet Ramona Love
Love CT frequent good sales decent quality! But not as happy with vehicle service????
PubYes hubby got nbiniñunnhin
Came here for car maintenance, the team was very knowledgeable and there was no pressure to do unnecessary service.
Big beautiful store well laid out very helpful floor staff when I asked where something was they took me right to it being my first time there that was especially nice and the cashier even had the good graces and laughed at my silly banter...oh the only thing is could have a little more lights...all in all very pleasant experience.
Love this place, it's huge compared to the old location. There setup is very nice.
Clean.. friendly staff ????
Nice large store, well organized with friendly staff
There was an ignorant couple there who weren't wearing face coverings. I mentioned it to security and was informed that they claimed that they were exempt. My question is, why let them in and allow them to put the other patrons at risk? It's fine to claim that you're exempt but there are consequences for your decisions.
Great selections and great staff customer service. Watch the flyers for great deals.
Some good deals with big selection
Do not buy tires here if you expect any type of customer service. I had a flat and was told to go to Kal Tire unless I could leave my car overnight. So much for free flat repairs... I went to OK Tire instead. They were also really busy (no parking) but said they always have time to fix a flat.
Great help for finding what I needed.
new improved review. After further investigation I found that this store was right. my apologies to the store.
Always helpful and usually have what I'm looking for!
Good store. Huge. Clean. Well stocked. Very helpful staff.
Great crew working here. The supervisor or team lead for the outdoor/firearms section is very polite. The customer service line moves rather quickly too! I was impressed at least 3 or 4 times now. I'm glad they're in town, and I'm happy I can support their business!!
Tried to find a starter for engine had serial# but they could not cross reference it! Useless bunch!
New store on par with larger urban CTC stores. Large store format somewhat impersonal compared to the older smaller store. No doubt with time, things will settle in.
It was assume
Quick in and out till line 30 second Wait
Always a good place to find what you need
This is the best Canadian tire on the island, great employee's
I really like this store... they have everything from seasonal to household and automotive needs. I recently bought a chair for a desk and wish I would have got it somewhere else like an office supplies store. We have bought work out gear here aswell... I would have given 5 stars but when we were there one time there was 4 sales associates standing talking to each other and I had asked where and item was and they pointed in the direction "and said back that way" I was really disappointed because I'm sure that one of them could have easily showed me where it was. I take customer service really serious. And quality of that service matters to me. I'm sure ot matters to the manager aswell. I think it would be fair to say that it just wont be my first pick anymore... I dont mean to be a negative Nelly. It's just my review.
Lined up with 4 others while two employees dealt with somebody with a battery issue, all I wanted was a key cut, but I gave up after 10 minutes.
Too big...everything that I want is too far away. And you have to line up...for CT...really?
Its Canadian tire what more is there to say
Did my brakes recently and I was very happy with the service and price. Went back after 100kms to have lug nuts checked and they replaced a burnt out running light bulb, no charge.
The stores pretty good place to shop good deals and friendly staff
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff
Always find what I need and more!
Not one employee is wearing a mask or practicing distancing. Pretty dystopian. Not coming back again.
I enjoy going to Canadian tires
One of the best stocked stories and plenty stocked items
Big store with everything you need.
Went in with a list of 5 things ad managed to find 2. Tried their app but stuff is often not where it says.
Really good prices and kickbacks when you buy there, and you can use there money interest free!!
I needed to get new tires for my 1989 Toyota Corolla, so I called around and found that Canadian Tire had the best deal. The person who initially booked me in was very kind on the phone (which is the only reason I gave 2 stars - otherwise it would just be 1), but after they were installed I was told that my one year battery was pretty much dead. I had just replaced it at a Canadian Tire in Vancouver last year, so this an annoying shock. The guy at the Courtenay store said it would still be under warranty, but it would cost $50 to install a new one. Fortunately, he couldn't fit me in for a few hours, so I said I would check it again once I was back in the city (I should state that I had had no issues with starting the car, but at the rate he told me it was at I should have had to jump it every time I started it). Now, back at the Vancouver store, I wasted 2 hours of my Saturday taking it in to the CT auto service only to have them say my battery was running at 110% capacity. What on earth happened between the Courtenay store and the Vancouver store?! The Vancouver store printed out the test sheet showing me that the results of the battery and alternator were in excellent condition, yet, when I called the Courtenay store back to ask if they still had the print out to compare, he said he couldn't find it and "maybe the paper had run out of the machine". Seems fishy to me! On another note, the same overview sheet that said my battery failed their test said my lights were all in working condition. However, once I reached the Vancouver store my right reverse light was out. It was probably out in Courtenay, too, which leads to think they didn't check anything on the outside of my car at all. As I mentioned, I went in for tires and came out with a bigger, unnecessary hassle that fortunately didn't cost me any more $$.
Very well run .helpful people
Only Canadian tire in town but wouldn't have it any other way.
Very helpful knowledgeable staff. I trust the automotive dept. will only do the work required and will return again and again for my vehicles.
New store has a decent parking and roomy enough for convenient shopping. Regular discounts are making this store a good place to visit.
GREAT I SPENT $1400, ???????? BUT I NEEDED IT !!!!!
My favorite store.
Big well stocked store but as usual not enough floor staff
Great service in the home garden department and great prices on trees and dirt
Meh
Great store for most of your needs.
Got there early to return on boxing day, store was empty, nobody in the lineup at customer service and I was still turned away to walk my items back to my car. Who wants to guess if I'm going to do any boxing day shopping at this store that just shafted me. Went from going to spend all my christmas money at this can tire to second guessing ever shopping at any Canadian tire again! Shame
Very large store with lots of items and choices.
very disappointing to get home with a new Fiskar reel mower after taking 4 ferries to pick it up, only to find it used and reboxed. Not a great response from Can tire.
Really expensive place to shop. When you pay attention to certain items you'd like and when the thing goes on sale you get to see just how much extra they really charge, cause even on sale they make a decent amount. Also a stand up cabinet fell on my 4 tear old not too long ago. Safety obviously not a priority, as its still not secured.
Staff are great.
Loved how not everything is behind glass or cages like in Nanaimo. There were a lot of great sales happening when I passed through. Huge store with a ton of inventory, probably my most faorite CT store I've been to
Good service vehicle ready when they said
A huge thank you to the amazing team at the Canadian tire automotive in Courtenay. I came in for a car inspection as I was not sure what my car needed. I own a car, know how to drive it, fill it with gas and check my oil but beyond that I'm completely "car-illiterate". I find it very difficult to trust any mechanics as I had several unpleasant experiences in the past at different locations. I have been to this location twice now and both times was pleasantly surprised. Today especially I was blown away by their incredible customer service. Peter and Miguel went out of their way to help me, explaining everything I wanted to know, helping with and fixing everything I needed.....they went above and beyond. I left grateful for their kindness, understanding and help. From now on this will be the only place I'll be bringing my car to. I highly recommend this Courtney location.
The people that work here are soooooo nice!
Had everything I needed. Staff could've been more knowledgeable though.
Was in there this am.Staff was very helpful. Also no problem getting some one to help to load my purchases in my car.I don't go there to often but visit when I need certain things.overall a good experience.
It's Saturday morning at 9: 30 am and there are only 2 cashiers working. There's 12 of us in line waiting. Sad.
I've not been the biggest fan of Canadian Tire over the years. This is a new store. Well equipped and staffed. I've been to this store more often in the last few weeks, than any other location in the last several years. Renewed my opinion of CDN Tire.
Very nice store need more cashiers
First the tire fell off while leaving the Canadian Tire parking lot after being in Canadian Tire Courtenay for service. Canadian Tire mechanic missed tightening the lug nuts. Now it takes at least 3 hours to repair a tire, even with an appointment. Very disappointing service in the garage. Andrew Pringle
I like this Canadian tire location. Is pretty big and has a lot of stuff. They are also doing a good job with COVID measures. Auto shop changed my tires quickly and the service personnel are professional and knowledgeable. General employs have been awesome as well as if they were unable to help me they found someone else who could. Would recommend shopping here
If you need things, and you need them cheap, this is your place. If you can't find the things here, go next door to Home Depot.
Meh... the thing about Canadian tire is they have some pretty awesome sales that are hard to pass up. My issue is that most of the staff aren’t really knowledgeable about the products. Another MAJOR gripe of mine is the carts that are fashioned to look like cars for the kids are not allowed out of the store. The reason why a person gets a cart, is because they plan on buying more product than they can carry. When I am shopping with my kids, they are always wanting the fancy shopping carts... but if I am buying anything that is heavy or bulky I have to get a regular cart because they will not allow you to take the fancy cart out of the store! A cashier was very unrelenting to me regarding this issue even after I promised to return the cart to the store. A production ensued with me having to move my purchases and child into a standard cart. It actually makes me mad just remembering it. As if a mom’s job isn’t difficult enough. If you are a business with fancy car-shaped carts, you have to allow customers to move their purchases from the store to their car in the fancy cart, otherwise don’t have fancy carts at all.
Computers at cashiers go down alot.
Amazing Variety for every day Needs, good Prices and good Service
Dropped to 3 stars because they didn't give meany canadian tire money maybe they don't have it anymore wierd
There are two entrance doors to get inside for shopping. One way is through the mall. The other way is from the service department side. Whenever I tried shopping at the shop to buy auto parts, employees don't let me in to shop and tell me to go around and use the other door to get in. If I have to use the other door, I have to walk another 10 to 15 minutes to go around the mall. Why they even create the door or let the door open for entrance if they don't let customers in to shop inside? Sometimes people look completely normal; but some people have difficulty walking. There are many elderly customers too. I don't know why they create this policy.
Worst “mechanics” around I wish I could give them ZERO stars! I will be taking my complaint to head office. My daughters suv was brought in they were told we thought it was the strut. They then tell us it’s the ball joint and the struts are fine, they replace that and say there is still something wrong and they’ll call us this morning to check it over for free. They DON’T call us we call them and now they said the STRUTS needs to be replaced!!! This is after we paid over $500 yesterday! I’ve heard bad things about them before and wish I’d listened. You’re better off fixing your car yourself! You can see the paper where they checked off that the struts are fine!!
Terrible mechanics, they replaced my cv axle but in doing so the mechinac tore out my sensors for abs brakes, traction control and VSA. I had to come back a day and a half later burn more gas because of there stupidity and I didn't receive and gift card or anything. I would NOT recommend this place and the mechanic let my car leave the building knowing full well what he did and he played stupid when I came back and told him about it, which makes me mad the most!
Always take my care to them, for maintenance and tires. Their auto centre in Courtenay is organized and well run. Staff are honest and knowledgeable.
A nice big Canadian Tire, large store, well stocked, great sporting goods section Store should get 5 stars but it is not dog friendly, and having moved from a town where the Canadian Tire was dog friendly it's a pretty big negative
Just rude. I generally love cdn tire but not yesterday. I went in to get some pricing on new tires. I was feeling ignored by the guy behind the counter that was 'busy' doing something on the machine, and when he finally did acknowledge me it was with a dismissive "yes?". I don't know a lot about tires but i don't need to hear the eye rolling in the tone you take with me. Offer to help me..This is Canadian TIRE afterall. I left and went straight to the independently owned tire store across the street who gave me a great deal and did the job right then and there.
No-one to ask about somethingbi couldn't find but all else was good
Love this store, was looking for something in an aisle and a store clerk actually came up to me and asked if I needed help where the old store you had to chase around behind them to get help if you could find someone. The staff are friendlier and he went to look for my item in the back and was back within minutes.
Seems bigger then most stores
Great place to shop.
Big store with most products you would need for Home, garden, automobile and sports. Full service bays. Minimal staff to help you but there are ‘search’ terminals to help you find your items.
Well stocked - friendly staff
Bought a really good looking, healthy rubber tree to spice up the office, and we get all our pet supplies for our shop cat here as well. Always quick and easy here.
Update: All done at Brakes and Muffler! I don't need to change a new Caliper! Canadian Tire is good but customer service is not good! My car was bad for the rotors and pads. I had to change the pads to drive my car for work. So I came to Canadian Tire and I would like to book appointment to change the rotors and pads for my car. But they said: I had done a half job and they can't do it! It's weird? Big company will real rule? They said : I need to change a new Caliper?? but my Caliper is still good! omg I called to 1 (800) 387-8803 for complaint about that and they said: waiting a few minutes then 1 hours with no answer! I have an appointment with Brakes and Muffler, they are so nice and easy !. Bad service ! You're a big company but you don't need to grow up your business! Let's see your stock on the market!
Very friendly hard working staff and good customer service and a very clean store and their manager Keith looks like Jay Leno.
I would've given 5/5 stars, but their car batteries are garbage. I have bought 7 RV batteries over the years and every one has failed within 3 months of the warranty running out. You can never get a straight answer, when you ask when the acid was put in because that is the day the life of the battery starts . It could be a year or two before it is sold shortening the life of it. Myself being a commercial fishermen I like to have a couple of dry batteries in storage in case a battery fails. It isn't a big deal to put the acid in them yourself.
I love the huge amount of product the store offers and the prices are actually very good when they have a sale one... which is weekly. However... customer service can be pretty suspect at times. It seems like some staff don’t really want to be there. Update -Recently I have found that the guy that works in the hand tool department to be quite accommodating in helping me find what I was looking for. Automotive seems to be hit and miss.
Friendly service. should sell fishing licenses as they sell lots of fishing gear.Prices seem to becoming non competive in all departments.
Last Sunday, September 5th, my husband had a situation involving major damage to 2 tires of our van. After managing to get a ride to your store in Courtenay, he was amazed at how wonderfully helpful the team was in the tire department … the service was incredible… the best ever! A huge thank you from Kevin to the team who worked that afternoon in the tire department!
Customer service is almost non existent in the tire section. Good thing you can check stock and order online...
Big can tire lots of square footage put some time aside for this store it takes time and a great outdoors section with real rifles
the new store is huge. it's lost it's homey feeling, but that will come about as people get used to it. the prices are up noticeably from the old store. even the sales are a bit anemic. the staff seem to know the stock better and seem a bit more helpful. the location may be a good one for people in south courtenay, but not as good for ppl up island, in the rest of courtenay and comox. my guess is that will see a marked drop in traffic as well as a do in sales due to the higher prices. all in all, the new store and staff are pretty good, prices well come down and then that leaves most of us having to fight traffic to get there.
Found some solid motorcycle gloves on clearance, was pretty stoked on the price.. But that's Canadian tire, crazy sales that seem to have no rhyme or reason but who doesn't like when you go in for something and it's half the price you anticipated paying
Good black friday deals
