I was supposed to deliver car at decarie location @4PM, but I was going to be late for not more than 5 minutes, I called at decarie location and the guy very rudely said location closes @4 sharp and if I come at 4:01 as well I have to pay 60$ extra moreover, when wanted to extend conversation with sorry and asking for giving flexibility he hung up, then I called customer care and they told me to drop car @ downtown location, when I called downtown location they said I have flexibility of 30 mins without any extra payment. I dropped of @ downtown then with no extra cost. Where I had very respectful and helpful conversation with both downtown and customer care representative, on the other hand, the decarie guy was very rude and disrespectful. Close your location @4 sharp but atleast give me next best option which will not make me lose money for being late for few minutes instead he talk disrespectfully and rudely, hanging up on customer just pushed me over the edge. Decarie is near to my place and my bank has discount for me @ AVIS as well, but I am never going back to AVIS for this behaviour.

Manager insulted me immediately after I greeted him on the phone. I was calling to inform him I was going to be late, which is no reason for any employee (let alone manager) to be rude and adopt an unprofessional attitude. Manager made me and my party feel unwelcome. I would way rather pay a premium and receive quality services from a competitor than do business with Avis at that location again.

I will never use this service again. We reserved 2 weeks in advance with our Costco membership. We arrived 10 mins early for our noon reservation and had to wait over 30 mins for our car while they brought it from another location. We were told they didn't bring the car over before because they had to take us on our word despite the reservation. We were running late getting out of the city because of this. I can't imagine what would have happened if we had been alittle late picking up the car.

I booked a car over the phone July 10th at 5:00in the afternoon, for the weekend of the 21st with my Hilton team member rate. Over the phone i asked if the customer service rep needed my credit card, she said no, not over the phone, told me it was confirmed and told me the total for the 3 days. I called today to confirm the pick up time and there was no reservation under my name, at any location and, absolutely zero cars left. I received no help whatsoever from the aloof customer service rep and basically was told too bad even though this was their oversight. I have used Avis many times in the past but I’ll never use this rental company again. Beware! Make sure you receive ALL required information when booking over the phone. Don’t recommend.

Even if we reserved with a week of advance, we got a last minute call saying they didn't have any cars. We went to the store anyway and the employee was very defensive from the beginning. Didn't try to help at all, said it was out of his hands and said we should try to call the central to solve the problem, what we did immediately, but guess what, nobody answers. We had a trip planned and things we had already paid for. This is by far the worst renting experience I've ever had. Probably they just jumped the opportunity to rent to last minute clients paying the absurd price for summer. Not serious at all, don't recommend.

Worst experience ever , i reserved a car for 1 day from 10am to 10am next day , they called me at 9.45am and left me a message sorry we dont have cars today , the guy working in avis decarie was very rude , he told me i dont have cars nothing i can do here is customer service number call them and then he vanished , went inside and come back just in case of new customer . Customer service told me we are budget not avis please call avis , this after 1h on the phone just trying to catch someone . I called avis and after 3 customer service representative and each time i tell my story from the beginning , they told me it happens sometime that we are out of cars but you can go to airport and take car but you have to pay more Whaaaaaat ????? Very unprofessional

(Translated) Worst rental agency ever! If I could, I would put 0/5! I had a reservation made and PAID online for today. One hour before the start of the rental, the branch called me to tell me that finally, they did not have a vehicle and that my rental was canceled! I don't even know if I'm going to get a refund and it's not counting that I made reservations for activities during the day that I couldn't get a refund if I can't find a plan B very quickly. Never again NOTICE! Never ever !!! EDIT: Still no refund. The branch refers me to Avis Customer Service and Customer Service tells me this is the branch I should contact. And to top it off, they hung up on me because I was starting to show signs of impatience, while remaining polite (I specify). I just repeated my question "who can help me?" repeatedly to an employee who did not want to do anything because he was supposedly not able to help me. Apparently the only answer he could give me was to hang up! Quite a service !!! EDIT2: I contacted Avis as requested in their response. They offered to reimburse me the difference between what it cost me and what it should have cost me. What I thought was right. I therefore provided them with the requested documents showing that it had cost me $ 84.53 instead of $ 42.74. And in response, they offer me a $ 7.09 credit!?!? We didn't have the same math lessons, I think. What a joke and a loss of time! (Original) Pire agence de location à vie! Si je pouvais, je mettrais 0/5! Et pour couronner le tout, on m'a raccroché au nez parce que je commençais à montrer des signes d'impatience, tout en restant polie (je précise). Je n'ai fait que répéter ma question "qui peut m'aider?" à plusieurs reprises à un employé qui ne voulait rien faire parce qu'il n'était soi-disant pas capable de m'aider. Apparemment la seule réponse qu'il pouvait me faire était de raccrocher! Tout un service!!! EDIT2 : J'ai pris contact avec Avis comme demandé dans leur réponse. Ils m'ont offert de me rembourser la différence entre ce que ça m'a coûté et ce que ça aurait dû me coûter. Ce que je trouvais juste. Je leur ai donc fourni les documents demandés démontrant que ça m'avait coûté 84,53$ au lieu de 42,74$. Et en réponse, ils m'offrent un crédit de 7,09$!?!? On n'a pas eu les même cours de mathématiques je crois. What a joke and a loss of time!

I wish i could give them a 0. Booked a minivan for a move out more than a week prior and they called back one day before the move out to say that the van is no longer available. This is ridiculous and a disgusting way to treat a customer. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I wanted to write about the worst car rental experience that I had in Montreal in this place about a year ago. When we arrived we had to wait for 30 mins till the girl who was working there even notice us. After she checked our license she said that since it is your first time renting at our place you should bring a proof of address. Once we told her that we have other experiences with renting car in Avis and we have never been asked for this document, she literally yelled at us and said: "this is how our place works. If you don't like it go and rent a car from another place". As we were in a rush and this was the closest place to our home we went and picked up a bill as a proof of address and could manage to get the car. The day after, when we returned the car, an older man was there and he said I am the manager. So we started to complain about the behavior of the woman who was there yesterday but instead of apologizing he said she was my daughter. Then he went out for checking the car. He came back and made us fill out a claim form for a small scratch that was on the car before we get it. It was so small that we did not even think we should report it when we were getting the car. So the man reassured us that we won't be charged because it is a small scratch but we have to fill out the form so he can report it. And he was not accepting that it was there before they gave us the car. Finally, we filled out the form. After a couple of months we were charged for 700$. He probably used our insurance to do some kind of repair on the car because that scratch would not even cost 100$.

Otherwise the car was clean and comfortable and I really enjoyed my trip with it. Staff should, however, ensure that their vehicles have sufficient windshield washer fluid before loaning them to future customers. It is not just the essence to take into account. Bien que j'ai dû attendre une demi-heure de plus à la succursale avant d'obtenir la voiture et que c'est un VUS qui m'a été offert pour le même prix qu'une économique que j'ai réservée. Sinon la voiture été propre et confortable et j'ai bien apprécié mon voyage avec. Il faudrait cependant que le personnel s'assure que leurs véhicules aient suffisamment de liquide lave-glace avant de les prêter aux prochains clients. Il n'y a pas que l'essence à tenir en compte.

Rented a Sonata through Costco, but was given a Mitsubishi Outlander instead with a 75% gas tank. Owner assured me it wouldn't have to be returned with a full gas tank and I took a picture of it in front of him and he said not to worry and to return it the same way. When car was returned, he forced us to return it with a full gas tank, even though we showed him proof, he didn't care. I had to call Budget for a refund on the gas difference. I also tried to call the owner directly and when I told him he had lied, he hang up the phone. Rented a few times some years ago, there were never any issues, I suppose it's all going downhill. Will never come back. Here's the photo, too bad this place became such a deceitful business.
