Took my car ( Toyota Avalon) for an electrical repair and battery blanket installation and a few days later engine caught fire. Never going back there again and my advice is to stay away.

Best certified car mechanic in the city, he is charging less than the others, took my wifes mazda for a brake caliper to be replaced, he charged me 250$ while the carson mailman charged me 420$ for the same job. Dough helped me to release a jammed emergency brake on my f150 last summer free of charge, I took my rav4 for a brake pads to be changed as they were making weird noise, it was a just a rock jammed inside and he didn't want me to pay for it. I have gain a trust in his business for sure and definitely recommending him over other shops

The Service @ 'Action Auto' in Yellowknife is A++. Doug and his A+ Technicians are Straight Forward, Honest to a 'T', Accommodating Beyond Belief and Reliable. When you drive away.. You know your in good hands and mechanically safe. In addition Doug's Customer Follow up is Exceptional. Upon my first visit... Doug dropped everything he was doing personally.. Stopped the work in the shop, cleared a Bay and got me onto the Hoist within minutes. HOW'S THAT FOR PRIORITY ONE SERVICE !! Action Auto Surpasses MANY if *NOT* all Automotive Repair Bays I have dealt with in the North and Southern Canada... and there are some Major Players I have dealt with that have Highly Notable Accreditation(s). I have personally owned and maintained 38 Personal and Heavy Duty vehicles in the past 26 years, many of them are still on the road today !!

Had my truck towed to Action Auto. Doug had it all fixed within an hour and a half. I highly recommend taking your vehicle to Action Auto when you need work done.

I brought in my matrix for its scheduled maintenance and to have a look at the fan belt. When the invoice came it was a single unit charge of "labour and parts" for $390. With no breakdown of what was done, how much the parts cost etc.

Action Auto is bar none the best mechanic shop in Yellowknife. Since the new owners took over the business about 6 years ago I started going there for all my auto repairs and have never had any issues and everything was done as promised and on time. The previous owner of Action Auto, who currently owns ABC Auto, is a crook and I wouldn’t trust him with a flat tire on my wheelbarrow. The people leaving 1-star reviews are either a competing company or friends of theirs. Grow Up!!

Amazing service. After a terrible and costly experience with ABC Auto, it was a relief to take my car to Action Auto. They were able to fix the damage at a reasonable cost. Most recently, my car wouldn't start and it turned out to be an easy fix. Action Auto did the repair at no charge. Highly recommend!

Excellent service. Doug put in a remote starter and repaired the damage caused by another "mechanic" who first tried to put one in. Did a great job winterizing my car for Yellowknife. It's awesome to find a mechanic that you can trust, and I would recommend Action Auto to friends and family.

Action Auto is an excellent business in Yellowknife. My car received great workmanship and professional care. My car's battery needed to be swapped and Action Auto accommodated my request on a short notice. In a city where commodity prices are generally high, I was pleasantly surprised by Action Auto's reasonable prices. To top it off, the customer service is professional and courteous.

The owner of Action Auto, Doug, is one of the most honest mechanics I have ever come across. If work does not need to be done he won’t do it. He doesn’t overcharge, he’s extremely easy to talk to, being a woman I have had many mechanics fix things that did not need to be fixed. What I really appreciate of the owner is that he explains everything that has been repaired, he will also call you with a quote and let you know what is mechanically wrong with your vehicle. On many occasions mechanics have ripped me off because I am female. Well done Action Auto ????????

Doug and his mechanic Zoheir are absolutely fantastic! They did a great job on my truck for very reasonable price but above that, they are very friendly and professional. My truck badly needed front axles and seals but I was working out of town and only had a narrow window of opportunity to get the work done. Doug and Zoheir turned what I thought would be a painful process into a pleasure. They got my truck in as soon as I got to town and I was driving it again a couple of hours later. I highly recommend them!

If I could rate Action Auto above 5 stars I would! The service that Doug provides is the best in town and I would highly recommend Action Auto to anyone as he is very reliable and does honest work. He has 100% gained my trust in the work that he does and though it is never fun to have to deal with vehicle issues, knowing that I can bring my vehicle to Action Auto to get the work done is a huge relief.
