We love our Volvo and we have had a great experience dealing with Gordon Ray and the team at JP Volvo of North Vancouver. We spent a long time shopping and specifically looking at the Volvo for ~1.5 years. During that time we didn't get any pushy follow-ups or added to any email lists from Gordon and he was always happy to help us when we showed up. When we decided on the model and timing, Gordon made himself available and was very interactive to help us get the car we wanted. Our 2.5 year old loves going to the dealership and going through all of the display cars and the staff genuinely smile and enjoy watching him pretend to drive the cars. In fact, we have been happy with the Service Staff (we have only met Ranj so far) and the Parts Staff as well (Mo and team have been helpful) while sorting out our Winter wheels and accessories. We were specifically looking for comfortable seats for my wife's back, so Gordon let us take the car out on an extra long test drive so that we could be confident that we were happy with our purchase. We definitely are. My wife gets out of the car more comfortable than when she gets into it regardless of whether she's driving, in the passenger seat, or in the backseat! I like driving it because it corners great and breaks great too. We look forward to buying our next Volvo with Gordon Ray and the team at JP Volvo North Vancouver.

Absolutely LOVE all their staff! Austyn is such a pleasure to work with! You get better service here than at Mercedes or BMW. Long story short, I was just looking at their car after visiting another dealership. I didn’t know much about Volvo cars before going for a test drive... it’s just impossible not to buy it once you feel the engine and admire the craftsmanship. Purchased a used car from here that we saw online, after talking with the sales person, Greg was very helpful in getting us all the details, pictures and info so that we could put a deposit on the car to purchase online and then we picked up a few days later. We were so excited about the car, but they made sure to take their time doing the inspection and the necessary repairs on the car before we could take it so it was safe for us. Both Greg and service Manager, Kevin were very friendly and was a quick purchase process. I would like to begin by thanking Greg, had it not been for his outstanding customer service, cheerful nature and dedication, I wouldn’t have had such a seamless experience buying my new car. I had gone through the researching, test driving and negotiating process with all the big dealers, this was by far my best experience. I recently shipped my 1999 s70 t5 from Ontario. Unfortunately I have had a few cases where I was in desperate need for a Volvo dealer to make repairs. The car has over 300k km and it is at the point of some big repairs. I have had 3 such repairs and I was very lucky to end up at North Vancouver Volvo. On each occurrence (1 requiring a tow from Coquitlam) I was greeted as if I was the only customer in the dealership. On the first case, Dave Watkins the Service and Parts Manager told me to bring the car in and to see him directly. When I arrived, he dropped everything he was doing and analyzed what my issue was. Within 15 minutes the car was being repaired. Parts had to be ordered which added a few hours to the repair. Dave gave me his personal vehicle to allow me to attend a couple of other appointments that I had. I have dealt with another Volvo dealership in Ontario that was exceptional good but they come in second to Volvo of North Vancouver and it is mainly due to the service that Dave Watkins has provided each time I have been in the dealership. Each time he has put me at ease when it came to explaining the issues with my car. He has an ability to calm you down and take the anxiety out of what most times is very stressful. He takes time with the customer again as if there was no one else there. Very simply, it is because of Dave and his team that makes me bring my car to Volvo of North Vancouver when it requires service. On the other 2 occasions, I was again was treated as though I was the only customer in the dealership. Sabrina D. the service representative treated me the same as Dave. I showed up at 8:15 without an appointment with a manual shift car stuck in third gear. She took me in right away and the vehicle was being analyzed immediately. At 8:30 I knew what the problem was. She explained everything so that I understood what had to be done and what the invoice would be. She made sure that I had a customer vehicle to use. She was very cordial and helpful. There is a technician by the name of Tony who is the same as Dave and Sabina. He is an excellent technician. He also explained everything to me and showed me first hand right in the repair shop so that understood what was going to happen. To most people what I have written probably doesn't seem to be a big deal but I can't emphasize enough the feeling that you get when these people treat you like there was no one there. They all go the extra step to make sure you understand what will happen and what it will cost. Remember, I drive a 16-17 year old Volvo not a brand new shiny Volvo. The point is these people treat me just the same as the customer who has a new vehicle. Also, I am not a North Vancouver Volvo customer, I just showed up from Ontario but, that made no difference to these people. They went out of their way to make certain that my Volvo was repaired to their high standards and most importantly that the vehicle is SAFE! I very rarely write recommendations but these people deserve to be acknowledged for their efforts.

I had visited this dealership when looking to buy either a Volvo XC40 or Audi Q3...we went with the Q3 and it was a disaster from Day 0! The Audi Langley dealership was perhaps the worst one I've ever dealt with and they really did a number on us...fortunately, Greg at JP Volvo stayed in touch to check in with us even after we went with the Q3. I told him what a mistake it was and how I wished we could reverse the decision and go with the XC40. After about a month, Greg and Andrew worked something out that made it happen - Greg was nothing but supportive the whole time, and the level of attention and service we received was beyond what I expected. I've owned Volvo's in the past and will likely stick with them - and most definitely will stick with this dealership! I highly recommend the XC40 if you are looking for a luxury compact SUV. It is what a luxury vehicle should be. And Greg? Top notch! Thanks folks, for going above and beyond!!!

Not once did I feel any sales "pressure" - they were just there to helpfully explain the features and accompany me on the test drive, answering questions along the way. When my wife and I decided to go away and think about it, there were no sales tactics, just a friendly "give us a call if you have any questions". When delivery time came, Ted and Glenn both went out of their way to accommodate and get me the car on a Friday night so I could have it for the weekend. Coming from the island, he made things extrememly easy and worked with us on timing. The car - although used - came in like new condition thanks to the details that Kevin and the staff put into the vehicle. We had a mostly good experience buying a CPO Volvo V60 two months ago. I knew the car I wanted and first what led us to the North Vancouver dealership was that they had the colour in stock. We met Kevin Speirs, initially over email and then in person, and his professional and patient manner made it very easy to do business. He gave us ample time and no pressure whatsoever, asking good questions and answering ours. As a professional salesperson myself, I look for people to buy from people sell and represent themselves as I to, and Kevin is first rate. After making the decision, I must say we found it a little humorous, and painful, that the process of buying a car has not changed in decades. The routine of needing to go back and forth between a manager, and then to spend an additional hour going through many options which we did not want with another manager, was not enjoyable. I appreciate this is more of an industry and perhaps a brand/dealership thing, but there has to be a better way. Regardless, I will call this review a recommendation for Kevin Spears, thanks Kevin!

Great attitude/service from the sales lady, they didn't have the car we wanted but were able to locate one soon after and sold it to us quickly at a fair price. My only issues were the $500 loan placing fee I wasn't told about in advance as I would have got my own financing, and adding on a $4000 extended warranty without asking and pricing that into the payments. A bit shady, your regular dealership tactics. Otherwise a decent dealer just review every line of your invoice.

Purchased a hybrid volvo from this location. We met with Nelson Phillips, who I had been emailing for weeks. He was very helpful and knowledgeable, he spent time explaining Volvo's philosophy which made me very excited to purchase a Volvo. I have tried to contact many different Volvo dealerships all over Canada for the past few months,to try and find a hybrid that would work for me. He is the only one who not only responded right away via email, but he carried a conversation and knew to try and build a relationship and put in the time, which we really appreciated. He seemed to appreciate our questions and provided us with exceptional service. When we were emailing, he even emailed back a week or so later to check in, which was very great. I am very impressed with his customer service and knowledge, and love our new car!

Went in last year for a quote on a couple parts for my S40. Parts desk was quick and helpful. Went over to the showroom after seeing a red s60 outside and asked if I could test drive it. I made it clear that I wasn't buying because I'm a college student and just wanted to try it out and the lovely ladies at the counter said "it's ok, if you don't drive it now how will you know if you like it when you're able to buy it?" and let me take it for a test drive. The guy who went with me was a gem too, friendly and helpful. Treated me way better than the Surrey location. Great team with great service. The show room is a bit small, I liked it a lot better when they Almere at the auto mall, way bigger show room over there. I also service my car here and the service department has been very good as well, friendly and efficient. There was a small hiccup one time, but they addressed it promptly. It was definitely one of worst experience ever. I do not recommend at all. I purchased two Volvo from Volvo of North Vancouver, but both times were not particularly good. I regret purchasing second Volvo, but it was too late because I already got the keys. I liked Volvo because there are lots of safety features and comfortable seats. However, their resale values are just too low. If you do not care about losing money or want to drive one Volvo forever, then go for the Volvos. Just go for Mercedes, they offer same level of safety features and comforts. The sales consultant was Gordon Ray. He was particularly rude after signing the contract. He should not be a sales consultant.

I would definitely recommend this Volvo dealership. I purchased a used Volvo V50 wagon in mid August. This car has turned out to be everything I wanted and is a perfect fit for my lifestyle. I had a dog gate and roof racks installed so it is a multi-use vehicle and gets great fuel economy. I went in for maintenance, since this is my first volvo i wanted to make sure it was maintained with the volvo experts.mistakes happen , however you hope that when a mistake is made it is not a standard of practice but just an opportunity for improvement. thats exactly how management saw it, I was impressed at the way management handled the situation, they do care a lot about their clients and take valid concerns very seriously. i would recommend this dealaership, .always, be an informed consumer and ask the right questions, respectfully.

Update September 2019: We always receive great service at Jim Pattison Volvo in North Van. We purchased a used vehicle in 2015 which ended up having a significant issue outside of the warrantee period. The service department took up our case with the vehicle manufacturer and resolved everything to our satisfaction. The process was completely seamless for us. Special thanks to Doug and Mandy! November 2015: I was in search of a car. Open to new or used and on a whim went to Jim Pattison North Vancouver Volvo where I met Gordon Ray. Gordon was exceptional through the whole car buying process and made me feel like a valued customer. When I bought my car Gordon spent time going through all the features and ensured I knew as much about my car when I left as possible. He was patient, kind and fun to deal with. I have slowly (and reluctantly at first) transitioned my service from the local repair shop to Jim Pattison Volvo for my 2002 V70. Initially I was concerned about cost but the service dept there has won me over. Starting with the amazing customer service from Dave Watkins (who has since been promoted to Service Manager, and I see why), I began to try them more often. My experience has been exceptional. Having the clarity of what exactly is needed, how much it will cost and the transparency around the process has been a pleasant surprise. I've saved time and money compared to the other shop I was using before. It's not like the old days when you were justified in being cautious around the dealer service. Thanks guys! Update (August, 2016) - Just bought a new Volvo from Kevin, one of the most low key and trustworthy sales people I've ever dealt with. Kevin will take care of you and put your needs first, which of course is a great find when you can get it.

Just today I had the service engine light come on and despite the service center being booked solid and it being the end of the day, Darren said I could bring the car in to have it looked at to make sure it was still safe to drive before they left for the day. We were replacing an 850 wagon with 475,000 km that had served us for over 20 years, and were nervous about finding a replacement. Our budget meant looking for a used vehicle and although we looked at other makes that people had recommended, we came back to Volvo and found an XC90 that we are very pleased with.
