Overall very positive experience, salesmen continually was exceeding my expectations. Only hiccup was that I bought a car I hadn't driven and ended up pulling out the passenger sit adjusting the rails and reinstalling it. I can't remember if that was on the 150 point inspection but there sure was a lot of other things covered. Definitely would be 5 stars for Alan Li individually though.

I arrived at Honda with my wife to check out the new Honda Civic Sedan, we had no plan to make a purchase that day but had heard great things about it so we went down to Carter Honda, which was in a great location for us with easy street parking. We were met by Anna Gratynska, who was very patient while we looked at every single model Honda has to offer. Anna took us for a test drive in a model she thought we would like. We loved it. We then took a break while we considered going to other dealerships, Anna did not pressure us to sign and encouraged us to think about it before purchasing. We came back that day and fellow colleague Steve Gotch who specializes in the civic model and has expert knowledge on engine capacity gave us some more useful information which helped us compare to other cars which we were considering, it was simple honest advice. Anna was very courteous throughout the sale, simply helping us understand costs, breakdown of different options for the car and helping understand what we want out of it. There was no upsale on any aspect of the car purchase, simply wanted to find what we were looking for. Having driven a Prius, 4Runner, Mini and Golf previous I was looking for something in-between them all! A car that looked good, had space for traveling, great on gas and had some kick. The new shape of the Honda Civic Sedan looks great! The fuel consumption is as good as the Prius in my opinion! The space inside is incredible, lots of room and it also has a good kick when you put the foot to the pedal! Inside is state of the art with the touch screen dash, camera sensing when turning and we love the moonroof. There is no surprise this is the 2016 Canadian car of the year. I've had it a couple of weeks and not found a single flaw with it, it's fantastic! I've had several people stop and ask me about it while out driving, i've directed them back to Carter, Honda to receive the same great service I did! Thanks again, Peter and Lindsay

I am very happy with the excellent motorcycle service I received at Carter Honda. To start with, I am a woman and an inexperienced rider. Simply put, it would be very easy for a mechanic shop to take advantage of me. Thank goodness Carter Honda gives old-fashioned, good quality customer service and is fair about their recommendations and pricing. I drive a Honda CBR125: basically the smallest cc bike that is still street legal. And I love it. But I was noticing some performance issues - at first I wrote it off as bad riding on my part, but then the fuel injection failed. So I took it in to Carter and the guys there completely took care of me. They test-rode it, figured out was wrong, and were very honest with me. The service manager James was very clear about everything and explained things in terms I could understand, even physically showing me each problem on the bike and going through the estimate step by step. He told me which repairs were critical and which were more optional, and what the benefits would be of getting the work done. Yes, I was pretty surprised by the amount of issues with the bike, and the amount it was going to cost me, but the guys at Carter did everything they could to keep the cost low, and even ended up coming in under budget. They also took care of other issues that they found with the bike as they were taking it apart and didn't charge me extra for those fixes - including rewiring my handlegrip heaters. They finished the job ahead of schedule, cleaned the bike from top to bottom, and gave me a courtesy call to let me know when everything was ready. When I went to pick up my bike it was waiting at the front of the shop, clean, fixed, and looking brand new. It also rode like a dream, way better than ever before. It turns out I am a decent rider and the issues were with the bike. I absolutely love my bike again, and even more than before. I will definitely be returning to Carter for regular service on my Honda.

Very poor experience. Brought my trade-in to be evaluated, as I was considering a newer car. Salesman texted me later offering a generous amount. I came back to buy the new car/work out the numbers and they gave me a bait and switch, offering thousands less for my trade-in than the salesman indicated. I would never buy a car here and suggest you look elsewhere.

Bought my first car from Cater Honda just a few days ago. Sami was my sales rep and he was an excellent representative of the dealership. He made it clear that his intention was never to push a sale if the customer was not behind it 100%. He was patient, and accommodated my many questions and inquiries about the technical aspects of the vehicles I were considering. Overall, I found the experience of buying my first car alot less painful and sketchy than it could have otherwise been, very much in large part due to the professionalism of Sami and his colleagues. We have purchased a Spark EV from Carter Honda. The sale person was very nice and professional. The service was good. However they charged $499 documentary fee with guaranteed three months XM radio; we did not get the 3 months accident radio after money was paid. I asked her a few times see if they can set it up for us, no answers. I have purchased a few used cars in different dealerships. They usually do what they promised to do, except this one,. I'm very disappointed. When I purchased the car ask him to wave that $499 fee. But they say they have to charge it, because he come with so much added out the values. They charge it but I did not give me what they promised to give. so if you going to purchase car from them make sure you get the XM radio setup before you get them the money. A week after, the service department contacted me and got everything sorted out.

I was cautious when first going into the dealership as the reputation of car salespeople is generally dodgy, but I found the people at Carter Honda warm, welcoming, and not pushy. I was working with Kevin and with Josh. They both answered my questions while allowing me to go about investigating the car I needed in a non-invasive way. It was a stark contrast to Pacific Honda in North Van where the give you the dreaded sales lines. I didn't end up buying at Carter simply because they didn't have the vehicle in the year I was looking for at that time. Still, anyone who wants a no-pressure situation, I'd highly recommend talking to Kevin or Josh. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to my friends.

Took my car in for a service. That part was fine. Asked them to put my front license plate on. They told me they had to take my whole bumper off to do it and we’re going to charge me $145. Took my car to Aamco, they did it for free in 5 minutes. Have been taking my car to Carter Honda for servicing for 5 years. I’ll be going to Aamco from now on.

Poor service standards. Took my car in for a service. Its only 2 years registered even though it is a 3 you model. I told them dont try and upgrade to a 3 year service package as it only has been on the road 24 months and less than 22k km. They called later and wanted to upgrade the service... Then they forgot to check the brake fluid levels. 5 weeks after the service the brake level warning light comes on. They have had a lot of turnover and the staff is not good despite charging Honda shop rates....

You know you are in good hands the moment you step in the dealership. I was just browsing and I ended up with a lovely Accord Touring 2.0T. I got a very good trade-in value for my old Honda Accord and a good deal on the new car. They left me with very little to think about to make a decision (i.e. the colour of the car.)

Don't buy a car at this dealership, unless you wanted to be treated like garbage. The dealership tries to include hidden fees last minute before closing the deal, when the final sales price has already been negotiated. General Sales Manager Rashid has no clue what customer service is, and makes it seem like he's doing you a favor by selling you the vehicle. The financing department tries to rip you off right and left. What a shame to such a great brand as Honda!

I've had some bad car shopping experiences in the past and was dreading doing it again. I'm pleased to say the team at Carter Honda has changed my view of what that experience can be! We were introduced to James when we walked in and right away we could tell that this was going to be better. James was super friendly, down to earth, and honest. He let us take a few cars out for test drives and was very knowledgeable about them. This was our first experience buying an electric car and he took all of our questions about the range, charging etc and could actually answer them! Which, let me tell you, was not like my previous experiences. Through the negotiation process James and his Sales Manager were great to work with. We never felt that we were being taken advantage of and believe we got a great deal with them. Even after we closed on the car and we had questions about the car or checking the tire pressure, James was quick to respond back to us and even helped me on Black Friday when they were VERY busy to get a replacement battery for one of the Fobs and fix the tire pressure notification. My partner and I bought a 2010 Honda Fit from Carter Honda last weekend. We did our research and this car is the best for our lifestyle and had the best reviews. We are very happy with the car so far. Abby did a great job of showing us the car's features and came along for the test drive. The Carter Business Manager Jen explained all the extras such as various protection plans and extended warranties, and we are happy with our decision. They threw in a few extras such as a free tank of gas and the first oil change complimentary which are very much appreciated. We plan to continue to have our vehicle serviced at Carter Honda. Recently bought a brand new Odyssey touring. After pickup, scratches were found on the bumper, paint chip on the driver side door, paint defect on passenger side rear quarter panel, and alignment issues. Contacted sales manager to make it right. After he saw the vehicle, he basically just ignored all our calls. Will not recommend this dealership. Edit: 22nd June, 2020 Response from the dealer through Google Reviews a year after the bad review definitely does not help. It shows how this dealership treats their customers.

It was time to replace my old Camry, and I wasn’t looking forward to spending much time in dealerships. It turned out that many salespeople I met were pretty nice and straightforward, but, as I ended up buying a Honda Certified Accord at Carter Honda, I was really able to see the dealership up close – and it really shone. In short, the folks there totally exceeded my expectations! The car I acquired was fairly-priced, I believe. Although prices are not negotiable (somewhat to my surprise), after continuing to watch the market, even several weeks after my purchase, I continue to believe that the 2015 Accord was fairly-priced. My biggest surprise was with my salesperson, Bob Louie. He was truly excellent. He knows the cars, he wants to know the customer’s needs and he is endlessly helpful, patient and even has a sense of humour! You may want to seek him out. I’ve said to a few people that Bob is less like a salesperson and more like a hotel concierge – that is, he really seems to want to meet the customer’s needs and desires rather than being primarily focused on the dealership’s bottom-line. (And when I took delivery of the car, it was prepped, shined and spotless, at the time he promised.) Bob; Madilyn King, their Financial Service Manager; their receptionist; the ICBC person – everyone I met in the dealership was nice and solicitous. I haven’t used Carter’s Service Department, at all, so I can’t comment on it, but I am easily able to say that this dealership delivered a superlative experience. And their coffee is pretty good, too!

When we said we had to talk about it before closing the deal she got all upset and wanted us to give $500 as a deposit even tho we said we weren't not going to buy the first car we saw. Staff are friendly but when it came down to buying a car they were not even close to being competitive. I never make car dealers an offer and if they want me to buy a car, I ask them to make me their best offer. They said maybe they can take of what was equivalent to 1% and that was a maybe. Also told them I was buying either their car or one from a competitor. When they lost my sale and I ended up with about 7% off from a competitor, they were concerned they lost the business and said they didn't think I was serious. Guess they didn't believe that customers saying they're serious car buyers mean what they say.

Just over a week ago I walked into Carter Honda. I was just looking around but I had been looking for a sports car. My dream car was the Honda S 2000 - preferably yellow. At the dealership I met Walter who showed me some of the new Hondas. He was very professional and a very nice young man. Before I left I shared my Honda dream. I couldn't believe it when he told me he knew someone who had one and that they might be getting it in. I was more than surprised when I got a phone call the next day from Walter, saying they had my car. He brought it over to Granville Island where I happened to be to show it to me and take me for a test drive. The next morning I went in and signed the paper work and by noon I was the proud owner of a yellow S 2000. My experience at Carter was over the top! I have never been treated so well and I was only buying a used car! Every person from the Walter to the General Manager to the people in accounting and insurance were wonderful and made the experience so easy and fun. I felt like a VIP!! When it was time to drive my car away, they had it sitting in the show room with a big red bow on it! A few days later I went back to pick up the owners book that I had left there. After taking grandchildren and children for test drives in my car, it was pretty dirty. Walter met me at the door and insisted that he take it down to service and get it washed for me. That's what I call exceptional service! Thanks Walter and everyone at Carter. I'm enjoying the dream!

Just recently, we had snow tires and a Type B service done which was to take 3 hours, Instead it took 5 hours, which wreaked havoc with my schedule and caused a lot of stress. 2 days later I get a dashboard light saying tire pressure was low. I called to complain as now I have to go back in for them to fix the tire pressure and reset the warning light so even more time wasted. They ordered it (because it wasn't in stock) and told me it would take 2 months. At 2 months i called them and they told me it would be 4 months as Honda had pushed production of this car to work on other cars. then the agent i was working with came up with some options that were totally not what i wanted - he really didnt listen well to my needs. Took my Honda S2000 in for a simple wheel balance. It was finished when promised, and the agent was nice, but the rest of this story makes me seriously question the aptitude of the technicians at this store. All four rims were damaged when I got it back. Apparently this is from their balancing machine. What threw me is that after damaging the first wheel, this company decided it was a good idea to continue on ruining the other three. Best part is that THEY DIDN"T EVEN TELL ME. I HAD TO FIND IT ONCE I GOT HOME AND RETURN TO ASK ABOUT IT. I really wish the story ended there, but unfortunately it doesn't. After seeing the damage, and realizing that nobody was using logic or due process in making decisions, I decided I should probably check to make sure they actually torqued my wheels on properly. They didn't. Honda specifications are about 100 pounds per square foot. I had one wheel at over 200 which will damage brakes and bearings, one wheel at the proper 100, one at 80, and the last was barely at 60 WHICH IS LOOSE ENOUGH TO COME OFF WHILE DRIVING. I certainly DO NOT reccomend these guys. They don't seem to care, and compared to my experiences with Vancouver Honda on Marine Drive this place shouldn't even be in business.

Normally I am very happy with the service in the Motorsports department but this time, I asked the guy to help my adjust my clock on my motorcycle and sadly, that was not done but I did not have time to speak to anyone as when I was picking up my motorcycle, I was running late to my other appointment. Also, normally, they would wash my motorcycle or hose it down and when I picked up my motorcycle, that was not done. I felt like I was rushed and normally it is not like that. When I called to let them know about them not washing my motorcycle, the lady told me they don’t have a place to wash the motorcycles. I did not feel she was being truthful as I have had my bike washed previously, every single time before. You think during this pandemic, people would be securing business instead of pushing business away. But that is strange because years and years before, I had my motorcycle washed after each Spring service. I feel like I spent $225 and the service was not satisfactory. I feel very disappointed.

I opted to buy a motorcycle from Carter’s, mainly because the motorcycle I wanted was there and I had been looking for one for over a year and really wanted to make use of our short riding season. The salesman was great for a short time but as soon as the sale’s done, they pass you over to someone else. Immediately I was told they won’t shine up the chrome because they have someone in Edmonton who will take it ‘as is’ (she had been sitting outside, albeit covered, for the time it was waiting for back-ordered parts then forgotten) And within a couple months I had an issue with the fork seals, probably because it had been sitting for those years (it’s a 2016 that someone had attempted to steal, apparently) and they cost me around $750.00 to fix. My bike came back with the grease still all over the engine and side and it looked like it had water and soap thrown on her but it had not been washed so was streaky and gross. There were scratches on my forks from the seals being changed out that I was told should be expected when you bring a bike in to a shop and then I was offered a measly 10% off on my next oil change. I did like the people I dealt with, but I’m not impressed with the service. Once customer service goes, so do your customers. I won’t go back there and I won’t recommend them because although my bike’s a few years old, it was in near mint condition.

Having a toddler and newborn at home, it’s not easy to find time to come into the dealership. It's nice to interact with friendly people who know their stuff. February 2021. New CRV Sport. As I have come to know over the last two and one half decades, Honda has some of the most reliable vehicles made. And good looking and fun to drive. All of this and safety is the highest goal. I buy Honda so that I don't have to worry about performance, fuel efficiency, endurance and most of all the safety of my family. Vehicles do not sell themselves, even vehicles of such high standards. The team that sells them makes a tremendous difference. In the case of Carter Honda I have come to trust them through sales and service after a decade of first hand experience and, in my case, the 4 vehicles I have leased. It has been great service and attention to detail. My needs and requests are listened to and followed through on. And these needs are reasonable, because it’s a respectful two way street in a relationship. In the financing end of things my "go to" person is Sabrina, and I have come to trust, and appreciate her judgment and advice. In this particular instance I was contacted by Ken via email and Joe, Brand Loyalty Manager as there was a window of time that made an upgrade worth it. The whole process between sales and finance was seamless. I have to mention, that during these most interesting times we live in, that the Covid 19 protocol was perfect. We keep our vehicle on scheduled dealer service and keep it immaculate. Being a Honda though we get the usual absolute reliability, resilience, guaranteed safety, convenience, usability and fun to drive feel from it every day. It’s a win win. We take the care of our vehicles and the vehicle takes care of us (and our families). We like to have a relationship with a dealership not just a "drive through” no pun intended. If we have any concerns they are handled right away. The process was the same quick, thorough and convenient service from sales and staff that we have come to expect. We give our bottom line for what we would like and they try to meet it. They make it their business to find out what the customer needs. Although the service department here was always amazing, I had a very different experience when going in to look into trading in my vehicle. The salesperson was aggressive and unfriendly. It was a very unpleasant interaction. I've been a Honda customer for quite sometime so I hope it was just this particular person but this person's sales approach wasn't personable. It felt very orchestrated and fake. Not going back for a car there any time soon.

You would think Honda Certified means that a used vehicle has actually been inspected? They sold us a vehicle with one wiper blade and the windshield washer spray not working (even after we filled it up because they didn't). If you can't find that on an inspection, what else did you miss? They were super responsive before we made the purchase, but once they got our money they have been quite evasive. Don't trust these guys.

Called in with a time-sensitive emergency request that would take ~5 minutes to complete (and which was required at the last minute due to Honda corporate being very late to respond regarding a vehicle import question), and Carter service was unwilling to accommodate. Conversely, Destination Kingsway Honda was more than happy to accommodate, despite experiencing a power outage at their dealership. There are two options downtown, I'd recommend Kingsway. Edit: all I needed was a note that my TPMS and immobilizer were working. Honda Corporate advised that this was a very fast request. This was communicated on my call to Carter, so the response below is inaccurate. Regardless of how full the bookings are, there's always time for a quick emergency request like this - while many items are billed for an hour of labour, service departments strive to keep their labour well below the allotted amount, meaning 5 minutes shouldn't have been all that difficult to fit in. Regardless - Kingsway offered to do it immediately, so take that response for what it is.

Carter Honda has done everything they can to ensure that my satisfaction with their products and services have been met. 2 weeks ago I bought a USED Odyssey and when I brought it home, it started wobbling so I requested Carter Honda to fix the van. They took it in immediately and worked on it for the day. I took the van home a second time and the issue was still there. I expressed my deep concern and disappointment. They apologized profusely and took it in a 2nd time going over everything from alignment to balancing to engine mounts to tires and more. They said they would fix the problem and make sure it was 100%. The problem seemed to be unsolvable in a day's time so I requested a full refund which they gave me without hassle. I expressed that if they find the problem and resolve it, I would still like the van. They worked on it all the next day and solved the problem. So after a week of troubleshooting and going through this rare experience, we sat down again to purchase the van. All arrangements were made by Carter Honda to drive me to or from work, a loaner car was provided, all expenses and hassles were covered by Carter Honda and they insist that if there are any problems to give them a call as they ensure "We stand behind our products." So, I wrote this review to share my experience with Carter Honda that, yes, there may have been set backs or hick-ups along the way, but that is life and I am impressed by their service and appreciative of their willingness to correct things until I am happy and satisfied. Overall, I am more than happy with my experience at Carter Honda and am thankful to Walter (my direct contact), Sabrina, Farhad, and the Service Team who have made all the arrangements for me.

Slimy. I test drove a 2015 Honda Fit on a Saturday, but it was an automatic and I wanted a manual. I was told there were two white manual Honda Fits in British Columbia. I gave a deposit with the assurance one of them would be mine. Two days later, when the car was supposed to arrive, my salesman called to say there was a mistake and both vehicles had been sold over the weekend. He tried to get me to change my colour preference and suggested I purchase a Civic instead, claiming that it would be a 6-8 week wait for the car I wanted. But it was all a blatant lie! When I saw his coworker chuckle, I got suspicious. I called around and found out that there was still one white manual Honda Fit at a dealership in Surrey. This is information that anyone at any Honda dealership would be able to see on their computers! When I confronted the salesman in our final phone conversation to get my deposit back, he was completely dismissive and cold. He acted like a schoolboy caught stealing. I drive past this dealership every day, which means that every day I will be sure to give a little wave to the jerks who screwed up this sale... from my bright, new Honda Fit. Ciao!

I'm NOT ALONE: Read the yelp reviews! I've had my car for a year now, but Carter Honda's mistakes still haunt me. On purchasing of the car, they registered my Vehicle Identification number so all those documents were wrong. On top of this, my loan information was entered wrong and because my VIN number was wrong, so was my finance loan account number. Just a huge chain of mistakes that shouldn't have been made in the first place. If that wasn't enough, my email was ALSO entered in wrong so I couldn't sign up for an online honda finance account. Mistake after mistake after mistake that are following me even a year after owning my vehicle. What a mess. DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING!!!! I don't even think I got a real deal on my vehicle so perhaps Avoid this place.

Bought a new car recently from Carter Honda. I am happy that, Carter Honda was able to get the model I wanted within few days and fixed all additional accessories. I found them very professional, especially Erica was extremely helpful and prompt in answering my questions. I really don't know this service center has so high rate in google reviews which drove me to them for the maintenance service this Friday. I had the B7 service done here for my Honda Civic. The experience is terrible and horrible!! I believe this's my first and last visit here! I understand the price is high, but I don't complain it. The worst thing is the attitude from the advisor and its staff! I dropped my car there at 9:45am and then the advisor called me at 12:30pm that the shuttle will pick me up soon, but I waited for 2 hours when it was 2:30pm, someone finally came up to pick me up. During these two hours, I made several calls to them, they just hang up on me after I asked then when the shuttle came here. Finally I had my car and then when I drove to Richmond for shopping, the tire pressure light suddenly got turned on and then I called the advisor what should I do, he said he can help check tomorrow (this Saturday) if I can go to their shop. I said ok, I will drop by tomorrow. Then the worst thing came up when I visited the service center this Saturday, someone told me HE IS ON VACATION UNTILE NEXT WEDNESDAY!!! OK, he literally lied to me saying he would be here to help check my tire pressure!!! I don't know why he lied to me, he could just say you can wait for until next Wed or told me to check it in some gas station, he just wasted my time to come to his place and was treated like an idiot!!! THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE IN ANY HONDA DEALERSHIP!

In the weeks prior to buying our car we did a fair bit of research and went to each and every Honda dealership in the metro Vancouver region. Goes without saying we got the best deal at Carter Honda and the best part about it was that we didn’t have to do any haggling with the team when it came to the prices. Alrick was very honest and upfront about the prices and there where no surprises at the time of deal closure. One other thing which convinced us to buy our car from Carter was that Alrick never pushed us for a sale. He was willing to answer all our queries and took us for a test drive without expecting us to make a sale decision on the same day. Any first-time car buyer, I would highly recommend Alrick and his team at Carter. It will save you a ton of effort and research time.

Beware of extra charges. They gave a quote for servicing my car and then told me that they needed extra parts, so i agreed with charging me extra for the extra parts. At the end they charged me almost double the original quote and I noticed that most of it was not due to parts but labour. I have a hard copy of the original quote. I spoke with their manager, Mr. Aaron Harvey, but once I sent him the evidence he conveniently stopped responding to me. I have decided to avoid them. I hope they realize that trust is the most important currency in business.

The peeps here are the best! The mechanics especially, they know they're stuff and don't mess around. Every time I've been in, I've had straight forward conversation about what I need done, and what service they can provide me. They're also super helpful when answering any mechanic related questions, and if they don't immediately know it, they'll try their best to find it out for you. I trust them with all of the bikes I've brought to them, (now counting 4 I've brought) and at the end of next month I'll probably bring my Shadow in to get a check up. I've had a bit of a hit and miss with parts. Some days it's good, other days not so much. But I can say that if you have the necessary info/part number/ etc. they are guaranteed to find what you need.

Joe was great to deal with, responsive to all our questions, courteous and very professional. He was excellent...Everything was arranged in advance with contactless service which was also very good. At time of signing and payment, the finance person slipped in a $325 financing fee (which hadn’t been disclosed ahead of time). In addition, the rate and bank had been changed from what had been discussed a day earlier with Chelsey. She had told us Scotiabank at 4.89%, but somehow the next day we were with RBC at 4.99% with Sabrina. We were expecting the extended warranty sales pitch, but the extra fee and rate / bank change didn’t feel above board. All in all, a decent vehicle purchase experience -but we left feeling like the finance office may have treated us underhandedly.

I had just been on a long highway journey and as I arrived to Vancouver a few service and caution lights were on in my 2011 Honda. I drove straight to the closest Honda Service department in my new neighbourhood and it was Carter Honda in Kitsilano. Bill Glavas greeted me and immediately set my worried mind at ease, came and took a look at my vehicle, explained what all the bells and whistles were about, set an appt. to immediately get things fixed up and called quickly with the estimate and update when ready for pickup. A ride was offered upon drop off and a coupon for a squeaky clean car wash upon pickup. I did not feel taken advantage of, on the contrary, I felt I was given the straight goods, with close to no pressure and made choices of things to be repaired and installed based on safety issues. For all new comers to Canada, stay away from Carter. They advertise a lot of offers like finance approval for new comers, 0% down payment, 0.99 % rate etc! Then when you get your credit analysed they would say as you're a new comer you need to provide 20% down-payment. I would suggest Carter should advertise that they can't approve finance for new comers. Their credit check aslo puts an inquiry in your trans union account. For all I can say is that, they are not at all flexible and blame everything on Honda finance. This happened to me even after I explained my scenario to them. At the beginning they were very optimistic of approval but in the end just blame you for being a new comer. And on top of they don't respond to your calls and the receptionist would reason saying they are busy with delivery! There are much better dealers out there, but this on is to avoid for sure.

My experience this week with Honda service has broken the trust I have with Honda and I will not be referring my friends to service vehicles there. I don't usually leave reviews, but felt I needed to hold Honda accountable in hopes that the high pressure sales ends. On Saturday I called in to book an appointment for Monday. I clearly stated on the phone that I would like a) Basic oil change and b) reset of my TPMS which I asked for the cost and was told $49. Here is what happened when I brought my vehicle: 1. The sales guy at the desk swiftly went through the summary of service and I had to stop him as he quickly mentioned the $286 oil change. I said I'd requested the basic and he quickly crossed it out and changed the amount to $88. 2. I was called a couple hours later and told the TPMS reset would cost $139, so I had to remind them that I was quoted for $49 in which case they said ok. 3. When I picked up my vehicle the sales guy ran through the bill with me which had a $25 charge for "shop supplies" at the very end. I challenged that cost and a new bill was quickly printed out without the $25 line item. Come on Honda. The people who don't know much about vehicles (me included) need to be able to trust the people who fix them. I felt so bad for the person in front of me who paid 15 times as much I did and I can only assume that if they had a similar experience as me, much of their service was likely unnecessary.

Be VERY WARY of providing YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION to their sales team directly or indirectly. I purchased a vehicle from them over three years ago and they have kept hounding me with 'special offers' (text, voice, email) despite requesting they remove me from their lists more than once. It's a shame since their service department is quite good and the original purchase of the vehicle went well. Ultimately, I was so frustrated that I asked that one of their managers call me to confirm that I had been removed. Nobody ever got back to me. This morning, I just got a new email about a 'special time-limited offer' so it's likely someone will be calling me again soon. Oh joy. SEP 27/18 Update: Yep. I just got another sales call despite the response to my original review. My frustration was evident when the poor salesperson called me with no idea that I had repeatedly asked previous callers to stop calling. When I asked to talk to the manager ("Ariel") about yet another call from his sales team he did not feel it was important to talk to me. At this point, I have to assume repeated spam calls is a willful disregard of my wishes rather than negligence. I will say it again. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR CONTACT INFO. They will call you incessantly despite your wishes. I am regretting purchasing a vehicle from this company.

Conveniently located for those who live in City of Vancouver. Sales staff know their Honda's; which these days seem especially complicated with all the electronic options and aids. Andy went through each and every item. Overwhelming at first, but was patient in going through it all. Pricing of new vehicles are competitive; and if you are serious on buying, they are serious on making a deal. Also got close to what I was expecting in my trade-in. Dealership may appear smaller than others, but they seem to have stock on hand. Haven't been to their service and parts department yet. I will note that service is not located at this same Burrard location. Service is located at the Carter Motorsports just outside Granville Island.

I sent 2 emails and cash offer on a vehicle advertised and still active on auto trader and got reply from sales manager Salar Khalaj who confirmed with me receipt of my email and then emailed him twice again confirming test drive and interest for today. I then arrive at dealer to meet some Alan Li who had no idea about status of vehicle and had to logon to autotrader in front of us and then we showed him the vehicle we wanted to see. He then went to enquirer only to come back and tell us they had someone else busy with financing on car and we said we told Salar we were cash buyers and ready to buy. Who does business like this. We drove all the way from Tsawwassen to see a car that was not available any more and no one had the decency to communicate back with us.

After the fact Alan has been very good at returning my calls or texts full of questions on how to work all the great features my car has! Chelsey, the finance person, was not as thorough or clear in her communication and I left feeling more confused about the different warranties and protection plans and what I agreed to pay for. Afterwards I emailed and called her with some telephone rage and even her agreeing to call me at a certain time and not calling at the time I set aside for her. I rarely say anything negative about anyone, but dealing with this company is horrible. They told my son when he called them about purchasing a new car, that the car loan interest rate was 2 point something, but when he went to pick up the car, the sales person Louie told him the interest was almost 4 point when he should qualify for a conventional loan from a bank. Now my son is paying high interest to Honda Financial. Besides, that sales person recommended two very costly car insurances to my son which were late found not needed at all. Lately, when we decided to pay off the high interest loan, the financial advisor of the company didn't send my son a detailed account information, instead, only two screenshots which show his car model and the total balance he owes. No other information such as payment history, any other fees! I wish they could conduct the business with some integrity and conscience , and treat every customer with respect and honesty, despite young or old. By the way, there is no way you make any complaint or talk to someone who can really help solve your concerns, in my opinion. Good luck to everyone with this Carter Honda!

We purchased a 2018 Honda CRV ExL in the summer because we were looking for a more spacious and fuel efficient family vehicle, that would fit our outdoor lifestyle. I had done a lot of research on compact suv's and on paper the CRV was one of the vehicles I wanted to actually test drive before making a purchase. After seeing and driving the CRV, it almost sold itself. I was very impressed with the car and it was a coin toss between the CRV and Subaru Forrester, as to which car we were going to get. The buying experience from the staff (Erica) at Carter was one of the factors that swayed our decision to purchase the CRV over the Forrester. There are a lot of Honda dealerships in the lower mainland which gives the buyer a bit of leverage as you have lots of options if you don't like a particular dealership, however I liked the staff at Carter Burrard and was happy with my choice. If I had any critical feedback, it would have been the extended warranty buying experience after we already agreed on buying the CRV. I felt I had to explain multiple times why we chose to decline any extended warranty coverage and if ever I felt pressured it was during that time. That all being said, overall, it was an enjoyable buying experience. I'd have no issues recommending Carter Burrard to friends and would most likely go back for any future Honda purchases.

Had my bike towed to Carter MotorSports. The guy from Carter who came to tow was very friendly and efficient. I knew I needed a carb cleaning and general servicing. I was given a rough quote of $600. When I picked up my bike, no one went through my servicing at all. I was just given my bill for $900 and someone pointed to where my bike was located outside of the building. When I grabbed my bike outside, I did a quick check to make sure all the screws were present and tightened and as I was checking a nice gentleman came out and asked if I needed help and he helped me tighten one screw that was loose, which was nice. I was surprised to get a text asking for my feedback on how my experience was because I felt I didn’t receive much customer service at all. My expectation was that I would be greeted by someone who would walk me out to my bike and run through my servicing, give me some tips on how to avoid having the problems in the future, maybe recommend products and then ask me if I had any questions. I was also expecting them to do a nice wipe down of the bike like they do at car dealerships but the bike was pretty dirty. My bike runs now though so they did service it correctly.

When I asked him about being PST exempt as I do not live and would not be registering my car in BC, he told me I would not have to pay it. This was obviously without actually double checking before answering me because when I got there with my certified cheque that I told him I was paying with, I was told by him and his manager that I do have to pay PST. Thankfully their finance manager actually knows what she's doing and just needed a couple photocopies to not charge me PST. After all of the hassle, I left the dealership only to realize they hadn't given me the safety paper. We went back to get it and once arriving home and going to register my car, found out the paper they gave me was NOT a safety and also not valid due to the VIN number being wrong! Needless to say I was very unimpressed when they argued and told me it was in fact a safety. Overall I love my car, but the experience was not great. Will never return and will never recommend to anyone!!

As a long term customer, I was very disappointed in my recent service. It cost over $1,000 and oil was spilled all over my engine, the cap wasn't tightened so it leaked as well. The estimated work was over priced and unnecessary. I feel completely ripped off. I got a second opinion and it cost less than half of their estimate and my car now runs like new. I communicated my disappointment with the service agent who copied the Service Manager on the email and no response. I won't go back.

This is for their service department at W 3rd Ave but Carter Honda should be responsible, copying and pasting from my other post. Absolutely horrendous experience. I would give zero stars if I could. I had scheduled an appointment on Saturday at 1pm because my car had two recalls. When I got the front desk, the guy helping me seemed nice and told me that it would take until 4pm for it to be done. I said ok and if he could please give me a call if it was finished earlier. I milled around and waited until 4pm. At around 4pm I thought to give a call to see if it was done. He said that there were delays and my car was still in service and earliest would be 4:45pm. I was getting antsy because I had other scheduled appointments in the evening. At 4:30pm I decided to go back and check, I talked to the guy and he said that my car was still in the shop/service. When I went back out I saw that my car was still in the parking lot where I left it, It had not been moved at all. I went back in and told the guy and he was visibly confused. He then told me he was sorry but there were delays. SO IN THE END NOT ONLY DID MY CAR NOT GET SERVICED BUT I WASTED 4 HOURS OF MY DAY. Also I'm not sure how the communication was between him and the service guys but the fact that he said that my car was still being looked at when it clearly wasn't really IRKED me. I was initially going to write this review after my second visit but the situation was so baffling and upsetting that I couldn't wait. WHAT'S THE POINT OF SCHEDULING A DATE AND TIME IF IT WON'T BE FINISHED BY THAT TIME??? SHOULDN'T YOU ACCOUNT FOR DELAYS THEN AND NOT GIVE THOSE TIME SLOTS AS AN OPTION??? AND YOU THINK IF MY CAR WASN'T GETTING LOOKED AT LET'S SAY 2PM SHOULDN'T YOU GIVE ME A CALL TO ADVISE? I HAD TO BE THE ONE TO CALL BACK. AND IF I DIDN'T CHECK ON MY CAR IN THE PARKING LOT WOULD HE HAVE TOLD ME? HOW LONG WERE YOU EXPECTING ME TO WAIT? Share my first time visit but come with a terrible service experience here. How long do you think it takes to check the low tire pressure ? Half hour or 45 minutes? The answer is three hours and 45 minutes. Because the warning light for low tire pressure is on and off, but the pin hole couldn't be found. Decided to go back to the original factory to check it out. The appointment was confirmed on Saturday by email and text. The appointment is on next Wednesday, 10:30. Arrived at the scene at 10:20, and told that there is no appointment record. They can arrange it but need to wait for a few hours. After the paper work, said that it was available at 1:30 to pick up. I went back to the shop at 1:00 pm, and my Accord was still in the parking lot. At 1:10, a technician took the car to check and return to the parking lot at 1:45 . Paid an hour’s labor. It shows 13:48 on my credit card receipt. Wait over 3 hours for half hr work. I received an unacceptable and terrible service here. 〖Cannot post without one start〗

Today started off with me making a trek to buy a motorcycle. I had already made up my mind with what I wanted, but little did I know what I had in store for me. I saw all these beautiful machines lined out front, but the moment I stepped through the doors did I fall in love. There was this beautiful 2013 Honda CBR 500R, sitting there in a mix of other bikes, but it caught my eye. The team there was absolutely wonderful, they guided me with ease, any questions or concerns they were right on it. Such a great group of people and atmosphere, I experienced top of the class customer service, I see why these reviews are so high. Even when I got off my training wheels in the parking lot, Thor came out and gave me support, instant boost of confidence. So pretty much these guys add +7 to confidence boost, if that's not a good enough perk I don't know what you want.

Bill is on top of things from day 1, when I went to meet Bill, I went down to trade my Mercedes C43 to Accord and I also met Salar and he was amazing as well, we had a great chat, Bill understood what I was looking for and there was NO PUSH for sales (which is an amazing talent to possess when you are in sales- convincing the customer to buy the car without making them feel pushed into), Loved every bit of follow up calls and messages to update me about my car. I went to Carter Honda to look at a used Toyota Tacoma that was advertised on line. I'm always a little put off by car sales personnel but I met Bob Louie and he was great from beginning to end. We went for a test drive and though I really liked it, I left to think it over for a few days. He wasn't persistent but spent the time to understand what I was looking for. Fast forward a week....he called to ask if I was interested in the truck or if I had looked at another one at another dealer that I was also interested in. I said, though liked it, I didn't think the box size was big enough so would prefer to stick with a full size GMC. As it turned out, he had or found the perfect truck .....everything about it ,exactly what I was looking for...all the while with no pressure tactics. Great condition, great price, he sent me the file on it, I purchased it the next . After the first month it developed some rear brake squeal. I called Bob and as promised he stood behind there 3 month guarantee.....no questions asked. He called there service center and booked me in the very next day. They not only repaired the rear brakes but removed and serviced all four brakes with a commitment that if the problem developed again to bring it back. 100% happy with Bob, the staff and the service center. I'll will keep his number and Carter Honda in my first go to place for my next vehicle. Thanks guys....your the real deal.

I recently purchased a 2014 Honda Accord through Danny Lu at Carter Honda. Danny was very friendly and made the experience very comfortable and easy. When Danny first contacted me by phone, I expressed to him that since his dealership doesn't have the exact car I want in stock, I'd rather go to other dealerships on the weekend and purchase the car from a dealership with the car so I can drive it home immediately. I told Danny that I urgently need a car and wouldn't want to wait. Danny was polite and asked if it was possible for me to share with him why I couldn't wait for the car over the weekend and purchase it from his dealership. He patiently listened to my reasons, and afterwards I told him that I didn't want to bore him with the details about my personal issues and concerns, but to my surprise he told me that what if he would try his best to deliver the car I want within my specified date then my problems would be solved. His persistence and can do attitude (he'll make it happen) convinced me to trust him to purchase the car from him. Ultimately, he kept his promise and delivered the car exactly when I wanted it. Danny is a man of his words, and I really appreciate that considering when I purchase my last vehicle, I was promised that my car would arrive in 10 days and I ended up getting it after two months. They also provided me some different parts options for my older vehicle, which saved me some money. The work was done promptly and there were no ‘extra costs’ when repairs were finished. I very much appreciate the curtesy ride home so I don’t have to wait around. Shortly after I got home I received a call and was informed my rear breaks needed to be replaced. Bought a brand new 2017 Odyssey, greasy salesmen “forgot” about the Tire & Rim Protection package he threw in, but when I called back and asked for the paperwork, they made a mistake on the contract, and I’ve been having the same frustrating conversation every time I need a tire fixed (twice already). Also developed a rattle in the dash - took it in and they had to order a part in that they didn’t have in stock. Took a week but when I drove all the way back to get it fixed (the Honda dealership close to my house not being qualified, apparently, to work on my Honda), I was told they had actually ordered the wrong part and that the part I needed was back ordered and would take another month. Annoying enough, but the real kicker is when I found out the “bumper to bumper” warranty doesn’t apply to brake rotors, nor does the “brakes for life” package they sold me when I bought the vehicle, and that I was on the hook for new rotors after 28,000 km. It went from bad to hilarious when I asked about getting the brakes fixed somewhere they don’t gouge you for labour - apparently getting the rotors fixed elsewhere would void the “brakes for life” warranty that should cover them in the first place. The van is nice enough - but I’d have bought a Sienna if I had it to do over again. The Honda “warranty” is a straight-up racket. Update: A manager followed up with me the day after I left this review. They had the charges reversed as apparently brake rotors ARE covered by the warranty, and the part they had ordered was mislabeled at the factory, so they had no way of knowing it was incorrect until opening the box the day of my appointment. Changed my review to 3 stars - Honda customer service not so shabby after all.

Awful experience. I'm a young female, and the salesman working with me was so condescending. He referred to my boyfriend as "my boss", brought me in on the pretense of driving a 2007 Honda but once I got there he revealed that it was actually a 2003 (and refused to discuss a lower price with me), and left me standing alone in the lot for 30 minutes while he helped another older gentleman look for a car. Honestly, I was so uncomfortable the entire time. I ended up buying a Honda from a different seller. Please, if you are a young female looking for a car, BE CAREFUL of this dealership!

We found everyone at Carter Honda quite warm and friendly, specially Kevin, the sales person, who worked hard to help us get the best deal. We are an elderly couple, who lived in Canada for ~ 48 years... we owned ~ 4 x used vehicles during this time, and purchased 8 x new vehicles, various makes (the trucks have been north American...) and the Honda we got is # 4 for us ! Due to the fact, of our years of enjoyment of driving a luxurious new car with all the safety features, being somewhat limited... we decided to get a new vehicle, or low mileage pre-owned one, an made some inquiries for it through friends and also visiting some dealerships etc. We then got a call from Carter Honda, on Friday, may 19th... and they just had a 2 year old Honda with low mileage, in mint condition available... and went to Vancouver the next morning to see it... We were then met by the director of the sales, Ariel, who had been contacted by Priscilla, and it truly was a "Royal treatment" ! (he also sacrified some of his long weekend to make sure were we well taken care of !) We were then introduced to Bob, who appeared to know just about everything about everything and helped us out making a decision !!! also met Ruba, who handled all the details of the financing and the warranty related subjects etc. after long discussions, we decided to opt out for new one, instead of the pre-owned one, mainly due to the more favorable financing terms... and went through all the details... we also decided to have some extra protection, such as undercoating and the paint protection added to the deal... And I must say, there just is no words to describe this experience !!! I really can't say and praise enough the friendliness, politeness, knowledge and professionalism in this Dealership !!! All of the people were just outstanding an truly went out of their way, to help and serve us to get a vehicle we would be happy to own !!! They also had an insurance agent Jamil, available to handle the registration and insurance etc. And quite honestly, I have never experienced this level of service and commitment ever, in my life !!! To whom it may concern, being a true "Honda lover", and having an opportunity to visit Japan several times in the past, in my opinion, Honda really is the only choice to me ! The service was very friendly but way over priced, I brought in my dirt bike tires to be put on the rims and the charged me $150 +$45 for the tubes. Which I probably would have been fine with if they would have spray off the tire and rim which they had covered in some sort of lube that I’m assuming is used to help slip the tires on. Sometimes it’s the little details that make the difference. I think next time I’ll head across town to Daytona motorsports. This place wasn’t worth the money!

This one star goes to Mark Rivera in Sales. He is the only one who deserves a star in this place. My sister was looking to buy a Honda Pilot and we booked an appointment on a Sunday. Mark greeted us and was very helpful, not pushy, not arrogant. He was very knowledgeable and was quick to assist my sister with all her questions. While we were waiting for the car to be brought out for a test drive, Mark had to help another customer. This is where the horror starts. Another sales representative named Max took over and was a complete opposite of Mark. He was arrogant from the get-go and was very abrupt. As my sister was seriously inquiring and trying to compare prices from the other dealerships we visited, he flat out responded that the price is firm and that Carter will never negotiate. While my sister was crunching the numbers on her phone, this impatient douche bag says to my sister "let's not waste our time here" and insinuated that my sister calls her husband to make a decision on the spot. Had Max been patient with my sister, he would have closed the deal at that point. We walked away from this dealership and went to Richmond Honda 2 days after. Spoke to the guys there, shoutout to Ken especially, who gave my sister an awesome deal on a Honda Pilot.

Walter Najarro, Sales Manager, at Carter Honda Vancouver sold me a used car from his lot. It was a great experience and he was very professional. I really appreciated the transparency of this dealership. Response time was great and I felt a genuine interest to help me find the right car. Similar to any product or service, you pay a little more for better service. The car is running fine and there's the Honda Vehicle Guarantee that gives you peace of mind for at least 3 years. I don't recommend dealerships in general, but I will recommend to specifically ask for Walter Najarro.

We spoke with a salesman a week prior to arriving. I was told they do not take deposits but if there is a deal pending they will call me and let me know. It is possible to place a deposit 24 hours prior to arriving however. We agreed also that if we were not interested or not able to come from Osoyoos, I would call them to let them know as well, respecting each other. We were excited for our newer RDX! We booked hotel rooms for Friday and Saturday nights, which were not cheap. Thursday, August 6th I emailed the salesman stating looking forward to seeing you Saturday at 10AM. The salesman responded via email - "Yes looking forward to meeting you too". Friday arrived and it was time to head to Vancouver. There was no call stating a deal was in order by anyone. I was to pick my spouse up at work at 4:00 pm. Friday at 3:35 pm I received an email from the salesman that the RDX had been SOLD. I was livid! Communication was very poor and it ended up costing us hundreds of dollars in fuel and accommodations. Hotel rooms could not be cancelled at such short notice. Check in was 4:00 pm! Needless to say, very disappointed with Carter Honda. Out of town buyers deserve more respect. I'm sure this review will just get thrown under the rug and no new rules will be initiated so stay away from these guys.

I am so happy with my new car! Personally, I usually dread car shopping. So, when I found out David Palermo, someone I used to see all the time at my much-loved bike shop, was working at Carter Honda, I went to see if they might have anything there for me. I always have had a soft spot for Honda (my first car was a Civic and it lasted forever) so I knew that I wanted another, but I had tons of questions and was a bit nervous since a car is big purchase for me. Luckily, David was really patient and helped me through the whole process. He talked me through everything I wanted to know and made me feel really comfortable that I was getting the right car for me. He didn't rush me into it or push me towards any cars that I wasn't sure about - the whole experience was great, something I never thought I would say about buying a used car. Not a great experience. No one answered the phone so I drove in. More than half staff had masks 1/2 on or below chin. Service was curt and not welcoming. Used to love this location because you can go walk Granville island while you wait but I feel like this place has gone downhill. I took my car to another honda shop on marine and it was like night and day, total opposite. I’m glad I did.

While we were waiting for our sales consultant, the staffs were offering us water, coffee or tea; and welcomed us to look around the cars in the show room. Two caveats: One, I am a big Honda fan and own both an Odyssey and an Acura TSX. Two, my experience with Carter Honda was from some time back so maybe (hopefully) they have new ownership/staff. OK. So I went to Carter Honda to test drive a Civic Si. That went fine, nice car. However after the test drive they managed to get me into some (I believe windowless) back room with a desk in it and little else. Then two or three guys put a bunch of papers in front of be and started pressuring me to "just sign it". "Sign it!" "Why don't you sign it!" I was trying to tell them I was still considering my options, while they tried to go full Sopranos pressure-tactics me. I couldn't believe they were actually pulling this on me, maybe because I was young (24 at the time and looked even younger) so maybe they thought bullying would work. And honestly part of me thought it was funny because it was so ridiculous. Eventually they figured out I wasn't going to cave and I got out of there. I can only imagine them doing this to someone who was more vulnerable and getting away with it. Like I said at the outset, maybe they have changed and I sure hope so.

He is one of the finest young gentlemen I have ever met. Alan worked on vehicle inventory before selling so he knows a lot about new/used cars and the industry. His product knowledge is incredible. After a few bad experiences we ended up at Carter Honda, where we didn’t have to guess at what the ‘right’ questions were or play some elaborate negotiating game where we pretend to know everything about cars. We felt safe enough with Bob to ask the questions we wanted to ask, and with his help were able to land on the right car for us, at a price that fit or budget. I felt like he was 100% honest with us throughout and that I could call him tomorrow if I need him to go over oil changes again and he totally would. Bob for president! And Ruba in the financial department! Financing is confusing as hell and she took us through it in a comprehensive way that helped us feel in control the whole time. When I got there there was a small issue with the car, no button on the end of the emergency brake, salesman said he would send it to me....good. But, as I was driving home I noticed a dent in the hood that was not mentioned, and I hadn't noticed. That will cost me some pretty serious money to fix. Carter Honda is great from the front desk, technician, to the manager. I just arrived in Vancouver and need a government inspection and a front plate bracket. I bought the car a few years ago, and totally forgot that the car was shipped with a front plate bracket. I therefore ordered one from Carter Honda. The technician found my plate bracket on the top of the spare tire, and got it installed without charging anything. I felt I was so luck to work with Carter Honda. They are honest, generous and warm-hearted. The dealership is in walk distance to the Granville Island. EDIT: The owner replied below to ask me to call their number to speak with Doug Lum, the manager. When I called, I was told by reception that nobody by that name worked there. That adds to the sketchiness of this business, as detailed in my review below. We found a listing for a Honda Odyssey minivan which interested our family. We placed a deposit ahead of visiting because we were driving from a distance and had previously missed viewing a vehicle at another dealership due to the time it took to arrive. We were assured that the vehicle was in excellent condition and would be ready to drive home if we chose to purchase it. When we arrived, we noticed body damage that was not disclosed or shown on the photos. Upon further inspection, one of the front lights was cracked and would need replacement. During the test drive, the minivan made creaking sounds while driving normally, not even while going over bumps or braking. Since some obvious issues seemed to have been missed by the service department, we decided to pass on purchasing it. We asked for our deposit back. That's when things got really weird. The salesperson kept trying to get us to purchase it, even though we said we didn't want it. Then he told us that the point of sale was down for the past day and we couldn't get our refund. That seemed strange to me, so I asked to talk with a manager. After they had discussed a little, the manager came over and said that the point of sale had been down for two hours and we would have to get our refund another time. I pointed out the inconsistency in the story, and stated that if I couldn't get the refund then I would report a fraudulent charge on my credit card. Then the manager started giving me a lecture about how the place had been in business for over 30 years and that they didn't want my money anyway. At that point everyone was frustrated, so I left, reported the charge, but found out that they did refund it the following day. I was disappointed by the unprofessional conduct of the salesperson and especially the manager. I would not go here again and would recommend others stay away.

Bought 2 cars from them, but didn't get my 3rd one. Mixed feelings about the sales team, some really good some not so good. Not impressed with their service dept. as when I got my CRV (2011) they had to replace it after I drove it a day and a half. One of the ABS sensors was faulty from the moment I received the car, and although they charge around $1500 for the PDI and destination, they clearly didn't do a proper PDI on it. Pretty pathetic. Just do your homework, and stay on top of things.

Two repair sessions had to be completed on an older Honda CRV .The work involved two separate difficult diagnoses of the check engine light . All remedial work to date has been completed satisfactorily and additional charges have not made for work that was redundant . The service advisor, Bill was efficient , explained work required clearly and made the effort to have the correct repairs done in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible . I do not think these repairs could have been done easily in an independent shop Update June 6th 2017....Unfortunately the check engine light came on again during a run on the Hope Princeton highway, while driving the car to Alberta . This time, soon after the check engine light came on , the car quit running while we were stopped at a construction stop zone: the radiator immediately overheated. The car had to be towed back to Vancouver.

Disconcertingly, they made me do the legwork to figure out the price breakdown only to find out that they were attempting to charge more than the negotiated price. BUYER BEWARE!!! In August 2017, I purchased an used Accord from this dealership and noticed an issue with the car within a week. Pulled the service records and noticed a major discrepancies between the service records and what was not completed under the hood. The dealership corrected the discrepancies but I received no acknowledgement or apologies from any senior management. I was brushed off by the Senior Sale Manager!!! It wasn't until I contacted Honda Canada then I received a formal apology or acknowledgement for the error they have made.

I went to this place for a long time now. Last July I had a service done before a road trip. At the destination I noticed that coolant in the reservoir tank was as good as empty! I thought the cooler must be leaking. My only choice at this moment was to top up the coolant myself. There wasn’t any leaking, because the coolant remained at the same level until the next service. I asked as to why the coolant level was under any minimum after they have done an inspection. Unfortunately I haven’t got any plausible answer, only Dodging and evading the question. I really doubt the quality of their work now. How many times did they open the hood without checking for coolant level or other things. Embarrassing for Honda.

I visited Carter Honda in February, 2021, to purchase a preowned SUV. The salesman, Kelvin, was very approachable and transparent, and I would recommend him. However, I was extremely upset by their sales manager who I felt was dishonest and aggressive. First, he low balled my trade in, valuing it at approximately 65% of the trade-in value listed on autotrader.ca. When I tried to negotiate, he became defensive, argumentative, and belligerent. Second, when we eventually negotiated a price for my trade in, the price that later appeared on the written sales agreement was after my tax savings, not before tax savings. For those who don’t know, this essentially means that the sales manager used a tactic to trick me, devalue my trade in, and “steal” my $1000 of tax savings. This is an extremely dishonest and exploitative way of doing business. Third, after the sales manager verbally agreed to wave the inflated documentation fee of $500, this fee later reappeared on the written sales agreement disguised under a different name (“Security Registration” fee). The sales manager then pressured me to sign this sales agreement before I had spoken to the finance agent about what my interest rate and payment options would be. After I eventually decided to walk away from the deal and go home, the sales manager called me on my cell to accuse me of walking away from a deal and badger me into coming back. I asked him not to call me back, but he called a second time to badger and harass me again. When I complained about these negative experiences to a different sales manager, he was very polite, apologetic, and offered me a better deal on the vehicle. However, I still declined his offer given my negative experience. Overall, I can’t recommend this dealership because of their dishonest and exploitative business practices, as well as their belligerent sales manager. If you do go there, ask them to wave their Security Registration fee (aka documentation fee), and make sure the value they quote you for your trade in is before your tax savings.

This location is the best location I have had serviced my generator in 3 years (since I purchased it) they are fast, helpful, excellent guest service. I dropped by to get my food trucks generator serviced late Friday afternoon. I received a call Saturday afternoon to let me know it was all serviced and ready to go. I would recommend this place to all food truck operators and anyone who like to get their money worth. Their price is 1/2 what I have paid at some of the other locations here in Vancouver. Purchased a 2016 Honda Pilot Touring in June of 2016. The initial overall experience with the purchase was pleasant, although the sales associate did not seem to know much about the product. What he lacked in product knowledge, he made up in exception customer service. The reason this is a one star rating is because of experiences with the service department of Carter Honda. In December of 2016, I had ordered accessories for this vehicle, but not all of them arrived on the install date, although I was assured that they were there. Also made this appointment to have them look at an issue with the second row captain's chair. The issue with the chair was that the seat backing was loose. Apparently this request was not entered into their system. To make a long story short, the service advisor was anything but helpful as he did not listen to me regarding the issue and also "promised" to get my missing item for the same day. To make matter worse, when the vehicle was "ready" that day, they advised the missing accessory was not in stock and and they could not find anything wrong with the seat. Aside from the inconvenience of a return visit for a missing part, the bigger issue was that they tested the wrong area of the seat. This most likely would have been avoided if the service advisor actually listened to what I had to say instead of talking over me. They then had to re-assess the issue and further delay the delivery time of my vehicle. When I went to pick up my vehicle later that evening, they advised there was nothing wrong with the seat. I did not agree with that decision so decided to take it up with upper management. I also asked to be reimbursed for my wasted time on the matter with at least one return visit and was offered a discount on a future service. I told them I was not interested in a future service at this time as this experience has left little or not faith in this dealership's "service". I wanted reimbursement on items that were already purchased and not for a service that may or may not happen. This is pretty presumptuous on their part to expect an unhappy client to come back to them. To this day, I have yet to receive an actual response with concrete information from the General Manager of Carter Honda regarding the status of the issue with the seat in my vehicle. The only responses that were provided was that he could not speak for Honda Canada about the seat issue and that he could not offer any type of reimbursement other than from future servicing of the vehicle. This was nearly two weeks ago. The prudent thing to do would be to inform the client with some sort of timeline, even if there is nothing to report, at least by doing this, the client would not feel as if they are being ignored. Not even an apology was issued regarding this matter. The Service Manager and General Manager have proved ti be very unhelpful and extremely disorganized. Neither one takes the time to read the emails that outline my concerns and when they called me to speak, I had to repeat the whole story to them once again. Neither one actually answers the questions posed to them, instead they choose to talk around the questions, address questions with questions and not provide actual answers. For a company who claims to be "service" oriented, this could not be further from the truth. There are individuals at Carter Honda who do put the client first, but it is unfortunate that the individuals in charge do not act the same way. The message being conveyed by Carter Honda is that a client can come in and purchase a $50K+ vehicle and then get treated like trash. They have zero accountability for their errors. No matter the outcome for the issue with the vehicle seat, Carter Honda will have lost a customer in me.

Purchased a new 2016 Honda Civic at the end of October with the help of Aryan. I had been researching for months on end on purchasing a used vehicle but as Honda's don't drop in price I eventually settled on getting a new one. I contacted Aryan before on used vehicles so I went to him when I decided on a new one. Was able to get a OTD price via email quickly and put down a deposit the same day. Also had financing done through the phone during the week before I went down on Saturday so that pretty much everything was done and all I had to do was sign papers before driving away. This place is ridiculous! Yes I do admit that among a lot of Honda locations, this might be the best bet to get a second hand car. I got a secondhand Honda Civic hatchback on June 17 as it can be seen in the message with the sales manager Herman. It seems like this place does not really check the used cars they received as once I have taken the car, I realized my air conditioning was broken. I didn’t realize it during my test drive because I was driving with the windows down. However, thankfully I still had the vehicle warranty. Brought it in to fixed the coolant, and they told me that there was a recall on the car, since recalls are being handled by honda, it wasn’t a big issue with me. However, Honda service fixed the recall issue together with my coolant and didn’t explained it to me clearly. A lady who works in services contacted me about a week later, saying my part for the recall has arrived. As my work starts at 11am, I had to get the first appointment which is 7am or 7.30am, as she told me that it requires 3 hours to fix it. However, upon my arrival, I was shocked to know that my recall was fixed when they fixed my coolant, and services didn’t apologized for the mixup. I stayed in Richmond and got up so early just to realize my part was fixed and no apology was given by the services department. Next comes the last nightmare! Herman who is one of the sales manager at Carter Honda promises a second key, however till this date September 27th, I have received no replies from him for over a month despite me messaging him almost once a week. This kind of words disgust me because promises were made and yet they are not fulfilled. However, I would like to thank two staff that were there to take great care of me! One of the sale personnel is Cherry, she really took care of me and ensured that I had enough time to test drive the car. The other person I would like to thank is the financial officer Sabrina. Even though she just came back from her, she took her time to explain my financial situation and let me know about my options. TLDR, sales manager and Honda services messed up. If you’re here to get great deals, sure! But don’t expect to get the best services.

I had an issue selling my used car to this dealer. They said that they would offer me an estimated 3800 for a used car, but when I got there they claimed they would only offer 1800. The reason was because I had no AC and my car was manual--both of these were clearly listed in my advertisement that they responded to. I understand that dealers want to make money from the used cars they buy but I feel they reeled me in for nothing. Careful before you bring your used cars here.

UPDATED REVIEW: 25C and no AC. I have now had my Civic from Carter Honda for just over 2 years 4 trips to the service department over warranty problems totalling to just over 20 hours of my time and I STILL have to go back. The reason I am now updating my review is because my AC was not working (blowing hot air) I had it checked when I was getting a recall sorted (trip one and two) and they said the fluid was low and for me to bring it back another time to get fixed so my 3rd time back to Carter Honda I get my AC fixed it was working well for a couple of weeks when it was once again blowing hot air. I called and brought my car back in for the 4th time to get it checked again; 4+ hours later I get a call saying the issue is covered under warranty but the part needed will take several weeks to come in. I asked if they could 'top up' my fluids in the mean time so I could have AC until the part came in and was told no Honda would not cover the $150 cost because it wouldn't solve the problem. So it is now 25C I have a virtually brand new Honda and I do not have AC in my car and apparently will have NO AC for a while longer. This is insane to me how there was NO empathy NO other options NOTHING has been done to make me feel like a valued customer. Its easy to get great customer service before you buy even a week or two after but I can't express how disappointed I am with how my situation has been dealt with at Carter Honda. I can't see my self purchasing with them again. After visiting several Honda dealerships I was beginning to feel getting a new Honda Civic wasn't meant to be. I was, insulted, lied to and had my time wasted at two Open Road Honda dealerships and had been told by another dealership it would take 2-3 weeks for the desired model and color civic I wanted to come in; while other dealerships were selling them. On a whim I decided to look around at other dealerships and came across Carter Honda. They had the model and color I was looking for according to their site and it was in stock. Before I made the trip down to buy a car I called in advance to ensure that it was still in stock and for sale. I spoke with Lyle on the phone he was great. After heading down to Carter Honda and taking a civic cope for a test drive I was ready to buy. Discussing price was as to be expected for purchasing a car but no cheap sales tactics were involved. Lyle wanted to get me the best price I was comfortable with. we came to an agreed price and I then sat down with Sabrina (business manager) who was fantastic! In my opinion she has the right personality for her job. I put my deposit down and would go back the next day to finalize everything and get my new car. Next morning Sabrina followed up with me to let me know everything was on schedule. Went back to Carter, Lyle showed me around my new car while I waited for Sabrina to finish up with other customers. Sabrina did not pressure or push me to purchase any extras which was a nice feeling considering how many bad stories i had heard about the topic (I did purchase extended warranty later). Paperwork signed and insurance sorted I was a owner of a new 2016 Carter Honda Civic! Only thing that was missing was my car mats which had to be ordered which was understandable. Lyle had fantastic followup regarding the mats and kept me in the loop. Overall experience at Carter Honda was 5 star and will be recommending anyone i know looking for a Honda to head their way! I had been shopping around for the rare Honda Civic Type R, and amongst the countless dealerships I visited, only Carter Honda had the car I wanted. They're apparently the fifth largest Honda dealership in Canada, which goes to show that they must be doing something right! Bob Louie was very helpful in setting me up with the car I wanted at a decent price, and was very transparent throughout the entire process. The Sales Manager, Adam Niblock, even went as far as to teach me how to drive manual (as I had never driven a manual transmission car before). Since I wasn't feeling confident in my manual transmission driving skills even after the lesson, Bob went out of his way to drive the car all the way to my house after work. They really go above and beyond at Carter Honda! All in all, an excellent team, and I would definitely recommend this dealership to other people!

Here is a post from a family member. I warn all to stay away from this dealership. These salesman are disgusting. Please read below: On approximately Aug 1, 2016 we began our telephone dealings with a salesman by the name of Darius at the Carter Honda dealership on 2390 Burrard St, in Vancouver, BC. We live in Northern British Columbia and were interested in a 2015 silver Honda Civic that was posted on this dealerships website. We were willing to book a one way flight to Vancouver and then drive our new car home. At the time this dealership also had a black 2015 Honda Civic on their website. We had expressed that we liked both colours and were advised by Darius that he could hold only one vehicle for us but we would have to put down a $1,000.00 deposit on the vehicle. We decided to put our deposit on the silver 2015 Honda Civic. This dealership took our $1,000.00 deposit and we booked our one way ticked to Vancouver to pick up our car. Darius picked us up at our hotel at 8:30 am on Aug 13, 2016 and took us to this dealership. While on our way to this dealership Darius did nothing but brag about how many rental properties he owns in Vancouver. After arriving at the dealership we were seated in a sitting area while Darius went to his morning team building meeting with the other salesmen at this dealership. In the show case inside this building next to where were seated was the black Honda Civic that was on the dealership website. We were relieved that we had not picked the black Honda Civic because is had round circular surface scratches all over the hood and a 2" deep scratch in the hood. After Darius had finished his morning ritual with his coworkers he came over to see us. He said that he had some bad news and that the dealership sold the silver 2015 Honda Civic that we had put our deposit on. Now, we had spoken to Darius and other employees at this dealership on a daily basis the week of August 8 - 12, getting the paperwork ready for our arrival (provided personal information, credit checks etc) scheduled for Saturday Aug 13, 2016. If there were any issues that we needed to be notified of regarding the purchase of our vehicle this dealership had our contact information. Darius was well aware of our flight schedule. It became very transparent that this dealership uses the "bait and switch" technique. After being told that our vehicle was sold we became outright irate and told Darius that he had 5 minutes to find the car that we put our deposit on. This dealership wanted to force us into buying the black scratched 2015 Honda Civic and take it off their hands. We told Darius that he had 5 minutes to find the car that we put the deposit on. If he did not find our car we were going to call the Better Business Bureau, the Vancouver Sun and the Police. It is illegal to sell an item that a customer has put a deposit on. Miraculously Darius found a 2015 silver Honda Civic in their stock parkade, go figure. At one point the manager at this dealership came over to shake our hands and try to "fix" things. We refused to shake his hand and were very vocal about how we knew that he was in on this scheme. He actually must've thought we were STUPID enough to buy that he was not in on Darius' game of bait and switch. We refused to shake this manager's hand. We do not shake hands with scum bags. We did get our vehicle. We will never recommend Carter Honda to anyone. A letter will follow to Honda Canada and this has not stopped here. Watch out for the HIDDEN FEES when you sign the papers with the woman that does the financing. SLIMY, SLIMY, SLIMY!!!!! Honda should be ashamed!!!!

I have been going to this Carter Honda for 20 years now. People are great but every single time I get service there, it takes at least half an hour longer than they promise. This time, I specifically confirmed that I needed the car by a particular time, they confirmed they could do it, I called 10 minutes before the deadline and they said they were on track. Then they took half an hour longer! I was late for my appointment and highly annoyed. I will be going somewhere else for service from now on.
