So, I am a first time car owner, and I was a little lost on how everything worked, not going to lie!! I was looking EVERYWHERE for a car! I knew what I wanted and I was shopping around like crazy! I bought an awesome used 2008 Honda Accord EXL from this fine establishment at an absolutely incredible price. Negotiated the sale of such vehicle with peter, he was extremely pleasant to buy from, really made me feel well taken care of, which I most certainly was. Peter totally hooked me up, set me up with breaks and tires even after giving me a sweet price. Not to mention the car is in immaculate condition with barely any problems at all, will likely stay that way for quite a while given the wonderful work their service technicians did on it. I used Carimex Auto Sales in Waterloo about a year and a half ago. I cannot recommend them. After 32 days of owning my "new to me" car, the transmission blew and left me at the side of the road. Consumer protection warranty ends after 30 days. I asked if they would help with the repair cost and refused, I was willing to negotiate a shared cost of the repairs. They said no and that was that. They are not interested in the customer after the car leaves the lot. Satisfaction not guaranteed!

It is a second-generation business; Peter and his father still work together. We arrived late from out of town and we were seen after business hours. What a great car buying experience. Came from 90 minutes away as I found my 2011 Buick Regal T here, was so glad I made the drive. Tom and Peter treated me with respect and made my time at Carimex a very pleasurable experience. My car is in like new condition and I can't be happier with the entire transaction. Their website was up to date, they had the CRV I wanted at the right price. I went in and spoke to Tom, there were no hidden fees, costs or poor sales tactics! Very glad I took the time to check out Carimex. After trying with nearly 7 dealerships in the past year and being without a vehicle for 4 months, I finally found a reputable & honest dealership. There's a ton of truth in buying local. Skip the BIG dealerships, and head into a family business. Finding the right financing was hard; and when nobody was able to come through, Peter stepped up and had not just one, but 4 approvals for me. Never tried to sell me anything I didn't need or want, made the whole process insanely easy and relaxing. Even as I picked up the Buick, he told me he was able to lower my rate of financing AGAIN. Unreal. Car was clean, fresh oil change and runs awesome. I can't say thank you enough for getting me in this amazing 2015 Regal Turbo, especially in time for the Labour Day long weekend. I will DEFINITELY be back for an SUV in the next two years, knowing that Carimex will have my best interests in mind. Cheers, and thanks again Peter!

I have contacted them a few times looking for a car, by email asking for information and they never got back to me. I walked in and my experience has not been good at all. Nice people but I doubt about their Customer Service and Sales skills. If a prospect is not given enough time trying to help him/her to find the car he/she wants to buy, how does a customer know they would give him/her the service require in case a warranty claim arises?. I would NOT recommend my friends to go to this place for now. Maybe so many people have had a great experience with them, I"m pretty sure so many have not had a good experience at Carimex.

The financing department was good....but they sold me an absolute lemon. I spent over 3000 dollars in less than 6 months on a2013 Mitsubishi rvr with no results. They couldn't fix it, Mitsubishi dealership couldn't fix it, it was a nightmare. Ended up trading it in for a jeep at a dealership, lost a tonne of money on the entire process and trade in. Get your warranty if you're buying from them. Peter was good, vehicle was absolute sh*t.

The mechanics at this place majorly helped me out when nobody else was open for the holidays many years ago, so I always wanted to come back to buy a car. Recently made my way in to get a 2015 Nissan Altima. It was a very low pressure experience, I didn't feel like I was pushed above my budget. I waited until well after the included warranty was expired to review. So far: -Car drives great -No problems, had it checked over by my own mechanic -it was clean inside and out, might as well have been brand new Very satisfied with the car. I also traded in, and I feel I received a fair price. Any company has to turn a profit, so if you deal with them you obviously will not get the maximum value. However, it was very convenient buying from them, and the trade in saved me some tax. I would buy here again, and I recommend them based on my experience.

DO NOT GO HERE. I bought a car from Carimex a little over a week ago and I dealt with Peter, the owner. I had a 2009 Honda Civic to trade in that was in fairly good condition, but did need a bit of fixing up, and he told me he would buy it off me for scrap. I was surprised at that as I really didn't think my car was under the "scrap" category but I trusted him since he was experienced in the vehicle industry. He said he would normally give me $200 for it but would give me $400, and I ended up getting him up to $800. I don't know much about cars but I thought it was a good deal. A week or so later after everything was done, my dad told me he had a funny feeling that lied about using it for scrap, and if that was the case, he didn't give me enough for my car. He talked to other dealerships about what my car was worth and they all told him that Peter definitely should have given me more than $800, that he should have given me at least $1500, and also that it definitely wasn't something that was considered scrap. So, my dad went to Carimex and confronted Peter who admitted that he lied to me and wasn't using it for scrap. He was in fact, fixing it up and selling it again. I thought I was dealing with a good, honest company but they turned out to be crooked just like the rest of them. After I bought my car, Peter had the audacity to ask me to write him a good review on Google, KNOWING he lied to me. I'm now very upset that I went through this and had no idea I was being ripped off the entire time. Peter is very good at being fake and making you feel like you're getting a good deal when buying a car from his dealership. Just another crooked salesman and a crooked company. I truly don't know how people like Peter can look at themselves in the mirror everyday knowing they're crooked and ripping people off every single day. I will be telling everyone I know not to go to this shady business. So thanks Peter, I hope it was worth losing someone who would have been a life long customer. * He states in his comment that "the whole car needed a paint job as there wasn't a single panel that didn't have paint peeling", but I told him that the trunk, hood, and roof had been repainted due to the clear coat peeling so he only would have needed to repaint the doors and the back.

We’ve purchased two vehicles from Carimax and the we’ve always been treated with respect and courtesy. No high pressure sales, they just ask you how much you’re looking to spend and what type of vehicles you’re interested in, they then provide you a list of options. No trying to show you more expensive cars just what you asked for. Once you’ve decided on the vehicle if you’re financing you speak with finance person, and again no high pressure trying to up sell a whole bunch of add on’s, they tell you what’s available and leave it to you to decide. Just recently because our last car was totalled they found us a $500 cash credit. Will continue to buy all of our cars from them.

The general manager Peter and his "family run" business Carimex is/are the epitome of a "used car salesman" and business. The 1970's stigma of the "used car salesman" still exists today because of people like this...but fortunately in today's world you will be held accountable for your actions. A young 20's woman went in to look at a vehicle to purchase in April of this year 2020. She didn't have a lot of knowledge purchasing a new vehicle or selling the vehicle she owned. She had total trust and respect with the professional opinion of Peter the general manager. She had a 2009 Honda civic that she owned that was in excellent running condition and engine, 204 000 kms, great body condition other than the clear coat needed to be refinished. Other than the clear coat refinish it would have been in perfect condition. When she first met Peter and inquired about the vehicle she wanted to purchase from him, she asked how much she could get for her Honda Civic. Peter told her that unless she wanted to put money into the car and then go get the vehicle certified and then try to sell it, that it was worth 200 dollars at a scrap yard. Peter then said he would give her $400...then eventually through texts convinced her that he would give her $800 for the car and he was willing to take the loss at the scrap yard. Through research and various professional opinions the Honda civic was worth $2000 as it was easily. Peter could have drove down the street and sold the car in 5 mins to a wholesaler. I went in to Peters "family run business" Carimex two weeks after my daughter had purchased an expensive vehicle from him and sold him her vehicle as a trade in for $800 which was 100% believed to be going to a scrap yard. I asked Peter what he did with the civic....with a proud smile on his face he said it was in his paint shop and "it looks great". I told him he lied to my daughter on the worth of her car and what he was going to do with the car. Carimex recently sold it at their business. Peter talks in circles when confronted on how he morally and professionally took advantage with someone he could. Peter the general manager who proudly represents his "family run business" Carimex in my opinion is professionally and morally "crooked" as he lead a customer who fully trusted him as a professional to believe something that wasn't the truth. Peter is very intrigued with reviews he gets on here so I presume he will respond...most likely with twisted facts and in circles. Peter, I hope this review gives you the accountability you deserve and I have faith Karma will find your way.
