Absolutely THE WORST customer service EVER!!!! Bought my son a 2006 Dakota back in Apr. No owners manual and no second key but they said they would get them for us. Yesterday, a month and a half later, after repeated calls to them (they never called us), they finally gave us an owners manual. One they printed off of the internet... cut down to size from 8.5 x 11 pages (cut off some of the lettering) plastic spiral bound cutting off the top of each page (good luck trying to read that line). My 15 yr old daughter could do a better job in one day, let alone a month and a half. Oh, the key. I had to get it done myself for $101 (chip inside the key), and they said they will not reimburse me!!
I would have rated it with no stars, but it won't post unless I put at least one star. That's one star too many if you ask me!!!!
Part 2:
As you all may recall from my earlier rant, how we got a 2006 Dakota at the end of Apr and had a very bad experience with the customer service from Y Buy New in Trenton, or should I say the EXTREME lack of customer service.
Well, last week we took the truck for a “Peace of Mind Inspection”, very similar to a safety check at a reputable mechanic (even though a safety check was performed on the truck prior to purchasing it…. or so we were told). Well when we picked up the truck after the inspection, we were told that there is approx. $4,000 in recommended repairs. Items ranging from a simple recommendation of a brake fluid flush (the truck is 8yrs old with over 200,000 km on it), all the way up to replacing the tie rods and repairing a leaky steering rack as well as replacing the rear brake shoe and brake drums.
I was informed that the rear brake shoes were worn down extremely close to minimums (2mm left) and cracked, and that the rear brake drums were scored. So I asked the mechanic if any of these things would have failed a safety check. He told me that nothing would have failed, but a few items were at the bare minimum to pass… including the rear brakes which were at the absolute bare minimum to pass. He then told me that there is no way they will last the summer.
Now I ask you, who would sell a vehicle that has brakes so worn and cracked that they will need to be replaced in a few months? Sure, all these items passed the safety check, but JUST passed with the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM!!!
Not knowing the brakes we so low, my son would be down to bare metal in no time and not have any rear brakes if he had to stop in an emergency!
Any reputable place would let you know about the brakes or had them fixed before selling the vehicle. Y Buy Nu just wanted to turn a fast buck, knowing that the brakes would last longer than their 30 warranty (barely), then they would not be responsible. I am shocked that they would do this, but not surprised… but completely blown away with the $4,000 repair recommendation!!!
Again, I warn you to STAY AWAY from Y Buy Nu in Trenton. Save your time, your heartache and you’re hard earned money and go elsewhere.
