Average dealership. Sell the vehicle give you basic information, very nice people and friendly, yet do not go above and beyond and not very detail oriented. Worked with John Meyering (Sales), John Rozic (Sales and finance), and Dave Shantz (Service Manager). Very nice people and John M was helpful in discussing options on vehicles and giving the run down. Not very pressure oriented and let you browse and check out the vehicle on your own. After a couple of follow up phone calls, John M even called me when a vehicle came in that met our specifications. They even let us see the vehicle "as -is" when it came in for trade in before work. They really were great in talking the talk. The slide occurred in the execution. Many Honda dealers are part of dealer groups, they subscribe to "value market pricing" which means that they drop price to a "competitive" amount and don't really negotiate. Stratford Honda is not part of this group, as such has higher prices, yet still did not negotiate. I asked if we could throw in some winter tires or accessories and got a "no. you can get that down the line if you want" answer. Not even trying to throw them in at sale and raise sales amount. We agreed to the vehicle, and they were to call us during the week when they go over it to advise of the condition. Walked out with a "not official" bill of sale which had the wrong address on it, a different sales person name, the ownership of our trade in was kept (essentially not having an ownership for a week). I assumed they needed it for transfer yet a week later nothing was done with it and it was filled out in front of us, so I don't know why it was kept. New ownership was retained as well and "final copy" is to be sent by mail (first time I ever had that when getting vehicle, so I have no ownership right now). Although very good at calling back when I was inquiring about options for trade in and values, it was always me following up. The week passed and no call on condition nor what was done to it. Pick up date arrived, and I was told that they forgot to touch it up but they will send a pen in the mail and I can do it myself. Filling out paperwork with JR), we were asked to initial that we got all documents and understand the conditions yet I needed to ask to see said paperwork and conditions. All paperwork was put into a folder and we were on our way. My mistake that I didn't check the folder and vehicle, yet when I got home, there was no service record for the vehicle, which every other dealer always provided no questions asked, the minder indicated oil change and brake fluid need to be tended to (I was told this was simply not reset and indeed oil was changed but brake fluid is not necessary despite it coming up). Sales told me they would find out what happened and call me back. Got call from Service that they were to call me but had no idea what about (thought Sales would advise of issue). Dave Shantz was amazing at explaining what was done to the vehicle and its history. He was even great enough to send an e-mail with the work done, within MINUTES. Got our vehicle when promised and cleaned, and apparently serviced. Its a nice dealership with genuine people and not sleazy used car sales or big corporate sales hot shots, but you do need to make sure that the i's are dotted and t's crossed. Check EVERYTHING yourself. Otherwise hassle free. All issues get rectified and they do get back to you, it may just take some back and forth.

I first dealt with Stratford Honda and John Meyering in Nov 2016 for the purchase of my 2017 Accord Touring V6. Having owned many cars over the years I can honestly say that this purchase experience was among the best! They are extremely easy to deal with and price discussions are very straight forward and honest. The service department has been excellent with all work done correctly and always within the time estimates given when I arrive. Fast forward to this year and once again the dealership showed how excellent they are as my father took delivery of one of the first 2018 Accord 2.0 Touring editions to arrive. His experience has been identical to mine, which shows how consistent everyone at Stratford Honda is. We both drive in from Guelph to deal here and it is well worth it!

Literally every time I bring my car in to have a tire swap, I’m waiting between 1 and 2 hours after my appt time. Tires on rims. My previous mechanic could get this done In 20 mins with balance. Why make appointments that you cannot honour? Beyond frustrating. Service manager Dave and advisor Steve are very polite and apologetic but I cannot fathom why appts are made with no intention to keep them. I understand the pandemic makes things hard with staff but this predates the pandemic as well.

We tried to deal with London Honda but were turned off by their "creative accounting" on their quotes and by their incompetent staff who don't even know what cars they have in the showroom. We've been customers at Stratford Honda for over ten years. They have maintained our family's Honda cars (4) for this period of time. We have been completely satisfied with their service. If anything they lean toward being conservative in their service recommendations, which is a good thing. I prefer that the cars that carry my family be absolutely mechanically safe. The costs for this level of service is competitive, but the work is first rate. I bought a car from them about eight months ago and was more than satisfied with the sales people, the clarity and completeness of their information, pre-delivery service, and the price. Personally, I am hard to please, but Stratford Honda has managed to keep me and the family happy for more than a decade. Service department letdown. Responded to a recall notification and after waiting he said it was not applicable. 2 3/4 hours shot and only explanation was that "They" send these out to everyone and whoever made appointment should have checked if my Ridgeline qualified. Icing on the cake was his total indifference in the matter and nothing even close to owning up to the goof or offering an apology. Sorry guys but 3 vehicles later i will have to pass business on to someone that treats customers better than this.
