So I went back to my mechanic who noticed that the oil that was indicated on the work order as the correct one, was in fact for an automatic transmission and not CVT. The oil he put in my transmission was the right one. So I went back to the dealer a second time and when they phoned me to follow up, they told me that the oil that had been put was not the right brand (Eneos) and that I had to specifically put the Diaqueen. I mentioned to them that according to the law of the consumer protection agency, a manufacturer can not require an oil in particular unless he provides it free of charge. So they did other checks with the manufacturer and the new argument for not replacing my transmission was that the oil that had been put had not the same specifications as the one he was recommending. I must also add that several car mechanics and transmimssion specialists, whom I consulted, told me not to understand why they refused to honor my guarantee for such reasons, but that it was not the first time that they heard such a story. Also, on the oil manufacturer's website, my vehicle is specified as being compatible with their product. The last point I have to add is that the technical adviser asked me (on my first visit) if I was considering changing cars because he could buy me mine. What I find a little odd in the context of a faulty transmission ... The dealer and Mitsubishi Canada have been sending the ball back since the beginning of my story and now my options are getting pretty slim. Mitsubishi has a nice warranty on paper, but in fact when it comes time to pay, it is definitely not up to par according to my personal experience. (Original) Jusqu'à tout récemment, j'avais toujours eu un bon service chez ce concessionaire. Par contre, on réalise la qualité du service lorsqu'un problème majeur survient. Au mois de septembre, j'ai eu un problème de transmission. Ma voiture est toujours sur garantie, mais lorsque je suis allé pour la faire réparer, la conseillère technique m'a avisé que l'huile de transmission lors de mon changement d'huile (chez mon garagiste) n'était pas la bonne. Je suis donc retourné chez mon garagiste qui m'a fait remarqué que l'huile qui était indiqué sur le bon de travail comme étant la bonne, était en fait pour une transmission automatique et non CVT. L'huile qu'il avait mise dans ma transmission était donc la bonne. Je suis donc retourné une seconde fois chez le concessionaire et lorsqu'ils m'ont téléphoné pour faire le suivi, ils m'ont dit que l'huile qui avait été mise n'était pas de la bonne marque (Eneos) et que je devais spécifiquement mettre de la Diaqueen. Je leur ai donc mentionné que selon la loi de l'office de protection du consommateur, un fabriquant ne peut pas exiger une huile en particuliers à moins qu'il ne la fournisse gratuitement. Ils ont donc fait d'autres vérifications avec le fabricant et le nouvel argument pour ne pas remplacer ma transmission était que l'huile qui avait été mise n'avait pas les mêmes spécifications que celle qu'il recommandait. Je dois d'ailleurs ajouté que plusieurs garagistes et spécialistes en transmimssion, que j'ai consulté, m'ont dit ne pas comprendre pourquoi on refusait d'honorer ma garantie pour de telles raisons, mais que ce n'était pas la première fois qu'ils entendaient un telle histoire. De plus, sur le site du fabricant d'huile, mon véhicule est spécifié comme étant compatible avec leur produit. Le dernier point que je dois ajouté est que la conseillère technique m'a demandé (lors de ma première visite) si j'envisageais de changer de voiture parce qu'il pourrait me racheter la mienne. Ce que je trouve un peu bizarre dans le contexte d'une transmission défectueuse... Le concessionaire et Mitsubishi Canada se sont renvoyé la balle depuis le début de mon histoire et maintenant, mes options deviennent plutôt minces. Mitsubishi a une belle garantie sur papier, mais dans les faits lorsqu'il vient le temps de payer, elle n'est définitevement pas à la hauteur selon mon expérience personnelle.
