The Auto Guys have treated me well every time I've been to see them! As someone with a basic knowledge about cars (how to check the oil, change a tire, jump starts) and not much else, I really appreciate The Auto Guys. I know they genuinely care about keeping my vehicle safe and in working condition, but more importantly, they care about ME. The Auto Guys put me on a preventative maintenece plan for my used car, and they work with me to make sure my car stays reliable - even on my meager budget! They always call to update me if they find something that needs to be fixed, and ask for my permission to go ahead. The Auto Guys prioritize issues for me too, so if the repairs don't fit within my budget this month, they let me know which are the most important to concentrate on first. I can't say enough good things about The Auto Guys - I recommend them to everyone who asks! Thanks Auto Guys!

They rescued the honeymoon! We were visiting southern Ontario for our honeymoon when the muffler snapped in two. After failing to find a garage I made my way up to St. Thomas and found The Auto Guys. Got the muffler patched up enough to get us home. They were polite, professional and fast. The cost was very reasonable and the facilities were beautiful. They were very good at explaining everything up front. However they will up sell higher end parts - this is not a criticism its just a statement. I can't really fault them for wanting to put the best parts into their work. I really don't think they take advantage of the customers but just be aware of the parts quotes. Don't take your vehicle here for the little things - if you are looking at a major repair that needs to be done right - they will do a great job.

I called to try and get my car in because of some engine issues. They wanted $126 an hour just to diagnose what was wrong with my vehicle. The next place I called looked at it for free and let me keep it there over night until I sorted out my attack plan. Again, free of charge. I get that a business is a business but I for one would rather work with a people minded business than business minded people.

The Auto Guys gave me a free rental car when they discovered the work would take longer than expected and then called me halfway through the job to tell me it was a much smaller problem than they originally thought and would not cost very much at all! I was very happy. Very honest guys who will only do the work that is necessary and nothing else.

Automotive care is not something you want to skimp on. Not only does it keep you and family safe during journeys long and short, but a well setup vehicle will save you money and gas and with regular maintenance you can avoid the sudden and expensive surprises that can appear from time to time. For the last 12 years my family, extended and not so extended have all used the same business. Through two cars personally as well as several others with family members, we always trusted Bob Ward to keep us all safe. Bob Ward and his team always handled our issues, big or small with the same professional attitude you would expect from a highly professional garage. It seemed that even when the news was a little expensive, it was explained in a clear way that even someone with no mechanical knowledge could understand. Though the years I have actually learned a lot about cars. While no one likes to have to spend money, having to visit Bob was always a lot less painful than visiting the dentist. Recently though, if you drove down Wellington St you would have noticed that Midas is no more. They have changed both location and name. Bob and the gang are now the Auto Guys and are located at 135 South Edgeware Rd. It's a brand new building with some of the most modern technology used in garages. Bob was so kind to give me a personal tour through the shop and it is plain to see how the working conditions for both metal and men have improved vastly.

I have 2008 Pontiac Torrent with with 115000 km. on it. It running fine as so I thought.I was thinking of tune up for it. So I asked James at the Auto Guys about a tune up and what it involved. Keeping in mind that GM suggests a tune up at 160000 km. James was really helpful in making understand about a tune up. Gave me a price. made the appointment. Told my wife about it and she said why fix it, and waste money if its not broken, the car running perfectly fine.She was right its perfectly fine. After the tune up, I was finished Bob showed me all the old parts, I was amazed at how black the sparks plugs were. Bob also took the time to explain exactly what they did. So I took it home and was amazed at the power, smoothness, acceleration my NEW 2008 Pontiac torrent had. Even my wife said wow its like driving a brand new car . Thanks Auto Guys for making it NEW again.

Crooks, Crooks, CrooksI have brought my vehicle in twice now with different problems. The first visit I left and went elsewhere and saves $900. I recently brought my vehicle in and needed 2 new front struts. Their estimate to me was $2600 on a vehicle not worth 2k alone. Brought my vehicle to Wiebe's Wheels in Aylmer. They fixed everything for $700. They were asking more than 3x as much as another shop would do the repairs for. Where in the world are they getting these ridiculous prices from????? Serious crooked shop! I would strongly recommend no one go to this shop when shops all around will do just as good of work if not better, for way less money. I will never go back.

Most businesses base their financial and long term success on the great customer service they provide to their customers. Bob and his shop deliver on their service, but so do others here in St. Thomas. The huge difference maker is that Auto Guys overcharge their customers and repeatedly suggest for more unnecessary service appointments.

12,000km ago they changed the brake lines, rotors, calipers, brake hoses, and pads on my dad's avalanche. Yesterday I took it all apart, as the brakes were smoking and pedal went to the floor to come to a stop 2 of the pads (rear left) were seized in the caliper bracket due to being oversized and forced in. Each front brake, the pads were totally worn on one shoe (inside), and the outers almost entirely worn. This seems fine aside from that the truck only saw 12,000km, including about 3000km of highway driving on a vacation to the USA. Rear right brake pads were worn equally down to almost nothing, however, wore on an angle due to being wrongly sized and jammed in the brackets. 3 of the calipers needed to be repaired. The only one that was fine was the one that I had replaced for my dad months prior to him going to The Auto Guys. The one I replaced previously was the only one not covered in road grime and brake fluid, and was much less rusted than the other 3. Very suspicious considering all 4 were to have been replaced. There was also an ongoing issue of brake fluid leaking as well. I'm not sure when this started exactly, or where from yet. However, with all new hard lines, calipers, and brake hoses, it shouldn't have had any leaks. Prior to their work, the only leak was a burst hard line. I'd love to speak about quality of work, but all I can say are that they used the wrong parts, and charged for services not provided. Overall, it seems like my dad was absolutely scammed here. Update: a brake line burst. The good news, I can tell it was one they actually replaced. The bad news, it was kinked, which explains the ABS issue since they worked on it, and the line burst where it was forced to be bent around an opening by pulling on it! The coating was damaged, and it had rust through at that spot. Update: another brake line burst. Had a mechanic check, and the front and rear lines are all original. So much for a second set of lines being run along the originals.

Shop seems like a professional operations but it's just window dressing. The customer service is the gateway to being grossly overcharged for parts and labour as well as quoting uneccesary and unrequested work. Gotta pay for the nice building somehow. Others use fair pricing and good work. Not this place. Avoid at all costs.

Their professional image is a mask to hide their lack of expertise with cars. They are politically correct and don't genuinely care for you or your car. On paper, they look good, but they a few cuts below the smaller shops. I would rather go to a dealer. They quoted double the price of parts of the dealer!! After looking at my 1 misfire, I got my car back having all cylinders misfire... Avoid unless you want to waste time and money

I booked in my car for an oil change and tire change - they did the work no issue. Seems fine to me, however, i do have an issue with the fact that the mechanic didn't clean up at all. My car is covered in oil.. I'm not impressed. Also, they said that i have lights out when, but when I checked all my lights, none of them were out - they all worked.

I went to them with a brake issue on one tire. They told me I needed to replace brake pads, calipers, rotors and bearings on both front tires. I exclaimed that the problem was only with one tire but they argued that both tires had the same issues. I took the car to another mechanic and he told me that only one bearing, one caliper, and both tire pads need replacement. I saved a ton of money by getting a second opinion and the car runs smoothly now. They have expensive labour rates and tried to sell me premium brake pads and rotors without informing me that they had more economic options, I had to ask if there were cheaper options otherwise they wouldn't have told me they had other options. The fact that they tried to sell me additional parts that were not required to fix the problem with my car is the reason I will not be taking my car to them ever again.

Went in for an oil change ended up costing my wife grand. Had a safty on the vehicle month prior, they scared my wife in to a bunch of front end work even though the tires were a wearing evenly. Sounded a bit fishy to me. Try black top customs.

As a woman, I have been to a number of mechanics who are condescending and rude and I have never had that experience with Bob. In fact, quite the opposite.
