I brought my truck in for a wheel alignment and they told me that I needed to have a lower ball joint replaced before they could do the alignment . I took my truck to my extremely honest mechanic , he said he checked everything and there is absolutely nothing worn on my front end .I don't know if they were too busy or just wanted to do extra repairs or whether they just don't know I would recommend getting a second opinion . I do have to admit they are very friendly here .

Absolutely the best experience I've had with a mechanic yet! Had two tires patched, seasonal tires swapped and an oil change for an excellent price. I didn't feel pressured into further service and felt the staff were honest, fair and most of all they aren't trying to rip you off as some other mechanics in town sometimes seem to be. Very disappointed, if I could give 0 stars I would. For individuals whom praise themselves on customer service, what I have experienced was extremely unprofessional and distasteful. For context, I have been going to Elgin Tirecraft for the last 3 years with my VW Jetta to get my tires changed, I have stored and put great faith into this company and individuals. In the fall, I went with my boyfriend to have my winter tires put on here, to find out that my appointment was pushed back an hour, and was told "well that's what we have here" placing the blame on me, instead of trying to find middle ground. I tripled checked my appointment time when booking, however was willing to just take the blame. The multiple times I have gone, I have heard the individuals at the front desk bash other employees or speak crudely when things do not go right, someone was late to work (since I had to wait 1.5 hours for my car in the fall, I heard plenty of things regarding employees and the drama of Elgin Tirecraft). If you have been to Elgin tire craft, you know there is not much room, and so therefore what is said at the desk travels and is EASILY heard from the sitting area. My boyfriend and mother have had similar judges of Gary's character. Even my mother whom gets along with everyone said he "was short and dismissive" not only with her but also with staff. Last week, due to medical reasons, I completely missed my appointment to have my tires swapped. I called on the way to my doctors office, just after the appointment time to sincerely apologize. The lady on the phone was extremely pleasant, and told me it was not a big deal and these things happen, she would reschedule me at the exact same time (11 am today). I triple checked my appointment date and time (due to what happened in the fall). Today, I got off of my night shift and stayed up to ensure I was on time for my appointment. Rob bluntly told me my appointment was at 12, not 11 as when I booked, and CONFIRMED it with the lady whom I spoke to multiple times to make sure I had it in my calendar properly. Rob was confrontational when getting into my vehicle, proving to be quite unprofessional - however he did try to get my car in earlier and stated he would call me once it was done. Upon picking up my car, Gary (the owner) told me that 12 pm was when my vehicle was booked in, and since I missed my appointment last week and therefore "left empty bays wasting [his] time and leading to 'insufficient funds'" as "he does not get paid for empty bays" or enough to make up for empty bays. I explained to him I was quick to call and apologize, and that it was due to medical reasons, he shrugged his shoulders and dismissed my mother and I, basically to say that he did not care that he would be losing our business. I have never met someone so unprofessional and rude. I will not be returning to Elgin Tirecraft, and quite frankly will not recommend it to anyone following this. I would much rather drive into London's Tirecraft shop or Costco to have my tires put on.
