Drove a 6h long trip to look at a grey fj cruiser on the lot (owner knew for over 3 days). I had asked if everything worked as it should (including the rear locker) and he said everything was a1, haha get it? Well, it wasn't... The rear locker didn't work, there was some clunks in the back over rough roads, occasional grind in transfer case going from drive to park, what sounded like a noise in the rear diff going around tight turns (never mentioned it to him, already didn't want it) and he claimed he had ran it through the shop and all it needed for inspection was a wheel bearing. (The second i walked up to it i saw an mvi failure, 6" ish gash in the sidewall of one of the tires). The guy doesn't even know the difference between 4x4 and a rear diff lock, barely even knew how to put it in 4x4. Tried explaining it to him but he kept telling me the rear diff lock was 4x4. And when i got him to put the vehicle in 4lo, push the diff lock button and press the gas a bit he stomped on the gas, which could have easily damaged the locking mechanism had it been working. Buyer beware, take his stuff to another mechanic to get checked over. And don't take his word for everything, he'll tell you stuff that he doesn't even know the concept of works fine instead of just saying "i dont know what that is".

Recently took vehicle in for inspection, was advised by the “new guy that does inspections” that a slew of things were in immediate need of repair (ball joints, brakes, rotors, some other random thing that was apparently falling off… and the kicker, new tires all around). As my vehicle was purchased new the year before, this was a bit of a shock. The “inspector” however told me that if I were to order new tires, at a cost of $600+ each through this shop, have them delivered to them and then pay them at that moment to install them, he (inspector kid) would gladly put a passed inspection sticker on my vehicle, without fixing any of the other things that were supposedly broken…… I left the shop without paying them anything at all, the next day had it inspected at a much more reputable shop, with a more qualified inspector to find out that the brake pads on my vehicle needed to be changed out and nothing else was wrong with it at all. Was quite disappointed for this to happen considering for 7 years I had been bring all of my vehicles to this shop for services I needed done and also telling people to go there. Will never happen again though, and now all I can think is how many times have I been ripped off there.
