>ZERO STARS< WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE! Only trying to get a price on a replacement key for a vehicle. Should only be as difficult as opening a price list at the very worst. The website 'chat' feature seems automated, and only regurgitates their parts and service hours before cutting the chat session short. This happened twice. I tried to call at 10:30am on a Thursday and got a machine, although their business hours clearly state that they are open. This is what happens to businesses within a traditional business model. When a company's only objective is to return increasing annual profits to investors, eventually corners start getting cut, quality decreases, and things go bust. Poor customer service is indicative a company's inability to function within its own increasing fiduciary restraints, resulting in pissed-off clients who have few options other than to write negative reviews on the internet.

Before coming to Hyundai, I had looked at so many other cars and dealt with many different dealerships and sales people, who were just awful. The team at Chemong rd, were absolutely fantastic! Jacob was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable, he made buying my new car exciting and fun! Would recommend him to absolutely everyone!! Finding a good car dealership is difficult. The sales team or individual was pretty sketchy in my experience but the service centre was great. Although some work on my vehicle took hours when it was only suppose to take 45 minutes - they sincerely apologized and offered some free services. Owning up to the fault is the most important to me. However - that sales team though....

My wife and I recently purchased a used Sonata from Peterborough Hyundai. Our sales Rep Leslye and (GM) Zach were awesome to deal with and were very attentive to our requests with the vehicle. They provided us with all the previous maintenance paperwork and there were no high pressure sales tactics. There was also no suprises when it came time to finalize the sales order as they did everything they said they were going to do with no suprise hidden fees. Leslye O'Mara went above and beyond to meet our needs and we would definitely go back there for our next vehicle.

Jordan was absolutely wonderful! He is currently in the process of having us set up with a BRAND NEW 2019 Hyundai Tucson! We originally went in looking for a 2015 but when he mentioned their amazing 0.99% interest rate for the 2019 and along got us a $1000 credit for the car we are hopefully going to be driving away with it; And to top it off, customer service is BEYOND any other. He offered to drive my boyfriend and I home after and did! Absolutely amazing human being and such a great funny guy. Would definitely recommend going to him for a car!

I had problems with my 2015 Hyundai, first took to Don Valley North dealerships at Woodbine Ave., customer service were trouble, never reply back to my email or return my calls, finally I went to their office and they were unprofessional and telling me will take 4 months to fix it. I told them I will take my car to Peterborough Hyundai, at Peterborough immediately did diagnostics submit all paper for warranty company at same day, got approval and starts fixing it, all done with 2 weeks span. I got regular update via email and phone calls. Thanks to Jessica, Edward and Eddie plus all staff at dealerships. This is what called excellent customer service .

I very recently had an amazing experience with Patrick there at the Peterborough location. He was extremely informative and helpful with picking out my new vehicle. He offered to bring me my vehicle right to my place of work so I didn’t have to wait for a day off to come pick it up, which was really sweet and I would of never asked him to do that for me. He even drove out to Ottawa to pick up the vehicle for me. 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. We were told that it takes a full synthetic oil change from the time we bought the car. So we have been getting Hyundai to do the oil changes since 2015. However as early November 2017 the service side have done some things that have really annoyed us. We have left Hyundai's service center feeling really upset. I only think I would go back there for a warranty issue. I am going to look for a different place to get my car serviced. **The reason I was in there recently was for a recalled part replacement I made an appointment with them they knew what they needed to replace. I showed up. Waited it out. They finished and told me "they did not have all the parts needed to finish the recall they will order them and call me". I am still waiting for the phone call.

Very suspicious of the recent burst of comments (3 of them "one week ago") from anonymous "Google User" accounts - each of which have posted a single comment of any business or anything anywhere on the Google network, and that comment happens to be about Peterborough Hyundai. *Update: Within a couple of hours of this post the previously anon commenter accounts had names added to them. Prior to this burst of commenting Peterborough Hyundai's rating was notably lower, and the previous negative comments are now pushed much further down the list. While not definitive of gaming the system, as it were, this sort of activity is frequently seen when either employees of a company try to boost the corporate ranking/review, for various reasons (including to counter negative rankings/reviews), or a company contracts to a shady "SEO" (search engine optimization) company, public relations or branding "expert," or similar individuals and agencies that post fake ratings/reviews, again often as a public relations response to negative comments. I am so far - a month of ownership - very pleased with Hyundai as a car/brand/manufacturer. However, my satisfaction in no way extends to the local dealership. As I have pointed out to family and friends, if the local dealership actually had to SELL me a car, I would not have bought there. As it was, I had pretty much already decided on Hyundai and the specific vehicle (based on the manufacturer's website, available rebates, Car & Driver and other reviews) and going to a dealership was for little more than to complete the paperwork to obtain the car. Likewise, if it had been up to the salesperson to SELL me on options or upgrades, I would never have bought them; and those are easy extra money (often over-priced) for the dealership, manufacturer, and presumably the salesperson who receives commission. I was told that the car did not come in the colour I wanted; but when I said that it DID according to the manufacturer's website the salesperson then went looking for, and found, a manual which CONFIRMED that the car did indeed come in the colour I wanted. I had to ensure that the options and upgrades that I wanted were added on during the hasty sales process, and was told that a spoiler is NOT an option for the car I was buying. Again I explained that according to the manufacturer's website it WAS an option. And, again, the salesperson went looking for a relevant manual, which confirmed that indeed a spoiler IS an option ... and I ordered it (at a cost of $550 ... an easy "sale" and some profit for the dealership). I picked up the car nearly a month ago and was told the spoiler wasn't yet available as it had to be custom ordered ... today I phoned to ask what has happened with the spoiler and was told that it has been sitting there "for about a week" and that the parts department "does not call" customers when parts arrive. Apparently, the parts department alerts the salesperson who in turn is then responsible for calling their customer and, presumably, making an appointment for them to return to have the part installed. That didn't happen in our case - no one has contacted us (and the dealership has TWO phone numbers and TWO email addresses at which we can be reached). I have a feeling that if the salesperson had called, it would have then been necessary for him to transfer me - or me to make a separate call to another individual/department to book the install appointment. This should all be automated, in 2016, with the customer receiving an automatically generated email or call when an ordered part arrives in stock; likewise the install scheduling should be automated. I WOULD buy another Hyundai ... but I would NOT buy it at Peterborough Hyundai. In fact, I was previously warned off Peterborough Hyundai by my regular mechanic & by someone who I stopped in a mall parking lot as she was driving an Elantra & I wanted to know what she thought about it - among other things she viewed and test drove it at Peterborough, but BOUGHT it at the dealership in Port Hope.

Check engine light was on. Brought the car in on a Friday afternoon - without and appointment (thought I'd be leaving it there for a few days). An hour later, they called to tell me what the problem code was and how they would fix it. Had the oil changed too. Got a call to say they found a mouse nest in my engine air filter. Car was fixed and back on the road Saturday morning. Friendly service advisor and obviously alert service technicians!

Service department requires a tuneup. I’ve have been calling for two weeks now, leaving messages trying to make contact with a human, to get my winter tires on. I have even requested to come pick my winter’s up so I can have them put on some where else. I have left many messages and still no reply, I am leaving Sunday for a three week training in Windsor with no winter tires. Very frustrated, I will be making a visit to the dealership.

Purchased a used truck from this dealer, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. My salesman was Claudio, and he was very honest with my transaction. It happened quickly and efficiently. I dealt with the Sales Manager, and all I can say is, as a buyer of a used car, all I expect is a high level of integrity. He was more than fair with my trade in, revealed additional information on the used car history, negotiated fairly on my new purchase. The car was ready when they said it would be, nicely detailed, plated, and ready to go. The Sales Manager even came out to thank me for my business. I couldn't have asked for anything more. This is the THE WORST CAR DEALERSHIP in terms of customer service I have ever experienced. My wife and I have been trying to give them work for over 6 months now (oil change and body work under warranty). However, the phone goes frequently unanswered, voice mails are not responded to, auto service staff are never available, and administration staff take information, but no one ever follows up to schedule work. Although my wife purchased her car here, we will never buy from Hyundai again or look to them for service.

Wife and I love our 2013 Hyundai Elantra and went in to look at either getting a new one, or possibly upgrading to other models. The second we got in the door the sales team were really pushy, but not transparent at all about payments or numbers. When we had discussed possibly trading our car in for the new one the 'trade' in quote we got for our car was $1,500... What a slap in the face. We are moving on from Hyundai and getting a Kia or Mazda. Don't bother with this dealership, there's so many better places in Peterborough that won't try to scam you.

Staff is friendly, and the showroom is clean, though a bit small for the number of vehicles they have parked inside. It was quiet - no music or anything, so it was a bit awkward and not incredibly welcoming. We had to go inside and ask someone for assistance (no one came out to greet us or ask if we needed anything), but once we connected with a sales person, our experience was pretty decent. Gets an "OK" rating because it was pretty good, but not excellent - a very average experience. Would have liked a bit more initiative on the sales person's side of things. Not transparent about their prices. Totally do not come off as being trustworthy. They posted a car as two different sale prices on different sites. When my partner called, they confirmed it was the lower price. I later emailed another salesperson to inquire further and was told the lower price was a web issue and it was actually the higher price. Over the period of a few days, probably because I didn't respond, they sent me repeated emails saying the price had been lower until finally it had been lowered to the price that was initially confirmed over the phone even though it was supposed to be a web issue? I called the sales consultant, Lynn, the same person who told me it had been lowered and again she didn't seem to know what the actual price was. Said she would call me back after talking to her manager and that she'd leave me a voicemail. Except when she did, all she said in her voicemail to me was that it was still available. Really? I just spoke to you 20 mins ago, of course I know it's still available. Seems they are just trying to play a game with me. Please do not bother me with any more of your emails, I do not want your business nor do I appreciate this back and forth business about the prices changing day by day. Get your story straight. Know your products. And at least be honest about your prices.

I went in to Peterborough Hyundai on Monday and saw Jordan. He was extremely pleasant and friendly. I told him I was interested in the Kona and he went through all of my options thoroughly. I told him I was an impatient person and if I’m going to buy a car - I’m not interested in waiting a long time. There was a beautiful white Kona in the parking lot and I fell in love. I decided it was the one I wanted to go with. Jordan was so helpful and everything happened smoothly and quickly. We had a small blip with the insurance company but Jordan even helped us solve this problem which was probably outside of what he normally does - he truly goes above and beyond to make sure it is a great experience. On Friday of the same week, we went and saw Kevin who was in charge of all the paperwork/financing. He was an absolute pleasure to work with. Both Jordan and Kevin made this experience SO fun and exciting. There was no pressure and I drove off the lot Friday in my brand new Hyundai Kona - I am in love with the car! I will continue going to see them for any future purchase and would recommend them to anyone :)

Despite living in the Ottawa area I opted to deal with Peterborough Hyundai because of Jordan who is one of their sales staff. 6 months prior I was hoping to buy a 2020 model Kona, but Jordan was unable to find any remaining vehicles in our model choice. Even though we were unsuccessful in buying a vehicle at that time, the experience was great. Jordan skipped the usual games that I experienced with other dealers, and for the first time I came away from my car buying experience not feeling like I needed a shower. Decided to give it another try in 2021 and I was not disappointed by Jordan and Hernan (manager). They offered to match an offer I got in Ottawa (needed to do comparatives), swapped out the winter tires for me, and then they delivered the vehicle to my house in the Ottawa area. Turns out they also own the Subaru dealership in Peterborough and my wife and I decided to upgrade our Subaru as well. They beat the Subaru offer on the QC side, swapped our winter ties in, and once again delivered the vehicle. Delivery guys were awesome. Pleasure to deal with and they were excited to talk about the features of our new cars in the driveway. If I had only one complaint it would be that the process for doing all the document signing online has not caught up yet to the other industries such as banking. No digital signatures and long contracts with confusing numbers. In that regard there was a fair bit of back and forth to make sure that we had everything right in the documents. Hope they continue to refine this model of business going forward because it is much easier and better than the pressure experienced in a dealership. For the first time in my life I can honestly say that I enjoyed buying a car! Thanks team!

If you're under warranty and think you need a repair I would suggest having your local mechanic look at it first. Less than a year ago I was under warranty, they told me my breaks just needed to be cleaned. Even though on my receipt they had used a part. I thought that was a little fishy but I just paid the bill. That part was my fault, I should have confronted them about it. This week I had my front breaks replaced, because of the major grinding noise they had been making for a while, by a real mechanic who said it should of been done a while ago.

Came to bring my car in for an oil change and new headlight. Was told it would be 45- an hour and that it was guaranteed because I came in right at 8am when they open. It’s now been almost two hours and they told me that I have two lights out which I know for a fact is false and the best part is they didn’t have any of the lights in, even though they knew what kind of light they’d need for what time and what day. Was told the lights would be delivered in 10 mins and it’s now been 30 mins since I was told they would be here. Customer service was nothing to special and I get friendlier staff at my University Cafeteria. I’m now going to be late for class because 45 mins of work has turned into 2 hours of disorganization. I will not return here no matter how desperate I am to get something fixed.

Today, August 18, 2020. I had a scheduled 10am appointment for brakes and other service. I made this appointment a week ago. When I arrived and checked in, I had asked for a loaner car, or a shuttle service to get me home while I waited for the work to be done, I was told that they had no loaner vehicles at this time or shuttle service. Feeling a little confused as to why this was not mentioned when I booked the appointment a week ago. The person on the phone knew I was getting significant work done. I said I guess I have no option other then to wait at the dealer, as I had no one at the time to pick me up. I sat waiting in the waiting area for an hour without an update, so I decided to go for a walk. My car was sitting in the same spot I parked it. I went and asked how things were going. It was now 11am and my appointment was scheduled for 10am. They hadn’t even touched my car yet. Getting anxious as I knew it was going to be a while to complete the work it was in for, I asked if there was any way they could arrange transportation for me to get to a friends house that was close to work so I wasn’t stuck. Thankfully the guy at the counter offered to give me a ride in his own personal vehicle. (Thank you to him I made it). I received a call at 3pm saying my car was finished. But when I asked for a pick up, they refused. Thankfully I did manage to arrange a ride to get my car after calling around. But I feel that this is such poor customer service to leave someone stranded like that. This could have been avoided!! Or they could have done more to help me! Peterborough Hyundai you need to treat your customers better, and be human kind.

When purchasing the Veloster we asked about getting the tire and rim package for $500 that is offered with the car. We were told by both staff and management that that package didn't exist and that it must be only for the USA. I purchased the vehicle without the tire and rim package since I was told it didn't exist. A few days after picking up my car I was shown by someone else exactly where that package is described. I went back to show the staff at Hyundai. One staff member wrote a letter stating that I had asked about the package pre-purchase and that I was told it didn't exist. The manager and a guy from head office both basically said that it's my loss, nothing they can do even though I have signed proof that I was after that deal before the vehicle purchase and purchased without it because I was told I was crazy, that deal is not real. Only thing they could offer was for me to buy the tires and rims at full cost (I offered to pay the $500 cash for the package I was wanting in the first place). I feel like I was lied to and the management was underhanded and sneaky in order to get a car off the lot. I will never purchase another vehicle from Peterborough Hyundai. Hyundai is a nice car but not worth dealing with staff who are either very uneducated in their product or outright liars. Today my boyfriend took our car in to have a recall done as well as having a wheel bearing replaced, we were told when we called it would be covered under warranty and not to worry. They advised us to bring it in and replacing the part would take about an hour. He got there, they took our car into the shop and then said it would not be covered under warranty even though we were previously told it would be. As well as said it would now take 2 hours, charging us $110/hour. When he asked about taking it to another shop where it would be less expensive they then advised they would be charging us an inspection fee even though we had told them the problem before we even brought it in. We ended up just biting the bullet and paying the $362 to have it fixed. All in all this place is a joke, their customer service sucks and they may want to look into hiring some better/smarter staff. I’m beyond frustrated by this experience, feeling slightly scammed and I can guarantee my car will NEVER be returning to this dealership again.

Their "service department" is HORRIBLE I just spend two hours there for an oil change, advised something would be covered under warranty then answers change. Bought a 2017 elantra in June, on a tuesday, was promised the car by saturday morning. Took the morning off work, to then be told the car needed a software "update". It would not be ready until saturday evening. Later heard that the car had not been registered and would not be able to do so until monday. Saleswoman called me with these updates, and promised me 5 free oil changes for my troubles. I show up to pick up the car, told by the manager they cannot do 5 oil changes, and will give me 2. After my displeasure was expressed this was quickly bumped to 3 just like that! Annoyed, i gave up and finalized the sale of my car. First oil change was covered, second was a fight to get for free, and was told the 3rd will definitely "be coming out of my pocket". Customer service here is brutal, strongly recommend dealing with another dealer.

Poorly managed and horrible service. Brought a 2016 Accent in originally for a check engine light, they diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts which they said would take a few days; it took them a week and a half. The parts finally come in and it was fixed; went to go pick it up and drive about 1km before a ticking noise arises again, a ticking noise heard when the car went into limp mode originally because of the check engine light. Right away the car was brought back where they said the car would have to be brought in on Monday again to be fully checked and fixed. The dealership’s service was horrendous as the parts and service employees had a dead tone and clearly didn’t care about the situation (having to have no car for a week, didn’t even offer a courtesy car or fulfilled the wishes of getting one after the car had been in the shop for a week and a half). The customer service was not even decent, they had attitude and clearly weren’t welcoming to help besides telling us to send in paper work; paper work they should’ve already had as the car was bought from a Hyundai dealership. Unbelievable.

My family and myself have always bought from this dealership (we are up to 6 vehicles in total) but we have noticed ever since our regular sale rep has left that the service at Peterborough Hyundai is AWEFUL. Recently I had to have the short block changed in my vehicle and I must say that the whole process was the worst I have ever had, the people I spoke to about my vehicle were rude, no one seemed to have any idea of what was going on or time lines to when I could get my vehicle and it was made to seem that I was the inconveniencing their day when I called to get update. My husband and I were looking to find a vehicle with a cheaper monthly payment then what we are paying now. After speaking with the sales woman my husband spoke with the financing manager and even though we have a current car loan he needed to do a credit check. We waited 3 days and had to call him back. After talking to him he stated that my husband wasn't approved for a loan, even though we currently have a car loan. The financing manager was told to put both of us on the loan and he didn't do so. He told my husband "I dont have time to deal with this, I will call you tomorrow". We never heard from him to get my information. We will never go back there and will tell others how unprofessional they are and what poor customer service they have. We both have experience working at car dealerships and this is by far the worst dealership in Peterborough.

I have used this dealer for the repairs and maintenance on my Santa Fe and was totally happy with the service department. A little expensive but I had confidence in the mechanics and and with Larry who was also really great and letting me know what needed to be done and why. The last time I had my car in I was given the second degree by the woman working the service department desk about why I was there and what I wanted done with my car - from technical/mechanical perspective. It was an unpleasant exchange and my confidence in my car issues being communicated to the mechanics was not high. My car is going back in there for service tomorrow. FRAUD ALERT! Got a new car here with a loan that they set up with the bank. I required a consignor for the loan do I was having my dad do it. The dealership however went and forged his signature on the contract without sending anything to him. When I called them to try and settle this without making it a legal matter they told me it was up to me to prove the signature was forged.

Nothing nice to say about this dealership... My fiance purchased a used 2011 sonata. The salesman promised to have it cleaned and have a broken heated seat switch we noticed fixed. Upon arrival to pick up the car we noticed the switch was not fixed and crayon and garbage still in the center console. The salesman promised again to set something up with a dealership closer to our home to have the switch fixed which never happened on his part. We ended up constantly having to contact him to try and get it taken care of and still didn't manage to get it taken care of. Worst part of the purchase wasn't the garbage or broken switch but the fact after 5 months of having this car, the engine went while my fiance was on the 407. After dealing with customer relations time and time again, we were informed that this dealership received the recall notice November 11th 2015 and we purchased the car November 28th. They refused to mention this information and sold us a faulty car and put my fiance's life at risk. Go to Bowmanville Hyundai if you want a good experience as the service lady Kim was the only positive experience we've had with Hyundai as she went above and beyond to try and help us. Ended up getting the heated seat fixed in Bowmanville and new engine installed in Bowmanville. Now we are dealing with Hyundai head office to try and get a $400 tow reimbursed which has been nothing but an issues. We did get a new engine installed, but this whole situation has been nothing but a big headache which you shouldn't have after 5 months of purchasing a car from a dealership. We will never buy a Hyundai again because of this dealership, but for those who do, avoid this dealership and try Bowmanville as they went above and beyond to help us even though we didn't purchase the car from them.

I was in Peterborough for a wedding and decided to come to this dealership to try and find a 2018 Elentra as I have been car searching for months. I was greeted by the manager Wes who then passed us on to Patrick. Since there were no 2018's left, Patrick decided to show us a 2019 Elentra preferred. Patrick is a new employee but I am very impressed with how he was not pushy with his sales, he was knowledgeable about the vehicle, and was able to accommodate me with the price and financing price as I am a student. We took the car for a test drive and I fell in love with it. We were able to sit down and discuss the best payment option and the staff were very helpful. I got an amazing deal that I know I wouldn't have had anywhere else. Having this car 5-7 thousand dollars pricier for a lower trim package where I am from was ridiculous. Kathir not only was knowledgable about our vehicle he went above and beyond for us both times we have purchased our vehicles. I bought a 2015 Accent in Oct 2015, from the salesperson named Jim. Buying the car was great, but unfortunately the good times ended. Once I stopped dealing with Jim and had to deal with the financial person Tarin and the service department, the customer service stopped. I felt my concerns were dismissed and I was treated poorly. HOWEVER, I decided I needed a bigger car and really wanted the Tucson. I was sad to hear the Jim was no longer there, however I had AMAZING help from Peter who listened thoroughly to my wants/needs/priorities. The Ptbo dealership is under new management. The new GM Curtis greeted me and asked about my experience, what I liked, didn't like about the car. Brian, the financial person was educational and not pushy at all. He genuinely wanted what was best for me but made sure I knew my options and respected my red line. Prior to this experience I would recommend Hyundais but not Ptbo dealership however after this experience with the new, friendly, and professional staff, I give them 5 stars!!!

I've been driving for 45yrs and have dealt with numerous dealerships. This is by far the absolure worst dealership I have ever dealt with. The inventory of preowned vehs is substandard. I was shown a 2016 Hyundai Elantra that was covered in dents and scratches.The car was filthy inside and out dog hairs and winter salt stains on tge floor and seats Another car was dirty and ran rough...VERY POOR QUALITY USED CARS. ALSO BE CAREFUL WHEN LEASING I WAS LIED TO ABOUT THE WALK AWAY LEASING TERMS. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DRIVE 1HR TO LINDSAY HYUNDAI...THEY ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT TOP NOTCH !!!!!!

I have to admit being a Honda CR-V owner that I went into Peterborough Hyundai with low expectations but was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the 2016 Santa Fe Sport AWD was in comparison to the 2016 CR-V. Litteraly the most unorganized dealership I've ever seen. Worst service you could ever imagine. The current service manager, Dan Kent, is one of the dumbest and most clueless people you'll ever talk to. Nobody should ever waste a second of there time at this place. Also don't be fooled by the positive reviews. They tell all of there staff to come on here and try to up the ratings.

We had a great experience with PTBO Hyundai back in December 2019. Jacob was quick to give us available options on the lot with short notice after our car broke down. He was very friendly and efficient.. would definitely recommend!! We just dealt with Jacob again via phone to arrange service for the vehicle and he was very personable remembering details about the encounter back in December. We will definitely be looking to deal with Jacob again if we need to purchase another vehicle.
