I purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado from Paul Tinney Auto Sales on July 20, 2020. The condition of the truck was concealed from me, and the repairs urgently needed were not disclosed to me fully or honestly. The sales manager, Dom, was dishonest about several aspects of the truck, some of which impacted the safety of the vehicle. Three weeks and nearly $2,500.00 in repair costs later, I am just now able to use this truck safely and daily. I was only given $1000.00 off the cost of the truck by the dealership to make repairs to the steering rack and starter after brutal negotiation. A complaint report to OMVIC is pending. Here are the main issues that were not disclosed to me by Dom, the sales manager, and that I feel the dealership was dishonest about: - He told me the dealership had safety inspected the truck, and nothing was wrong with it. A week later, on the day I said I'd be purchasing it and had it inspected myself, my own mechanic discovers several major repairs needed. Only then does the dealership admit that it needs a new starter and steering rack. If it had been safetied properly by the dealership previously, they would have found these things sooner. -He told me the steering rack was dripping from an oil change, and called my mechanic a liar and said he was only looking to "make a buck." He was resistant to having the truck looked at again on a hoist by his own mechanic, and insisted everything was fine, shortly before admitting to the repairs needed without apology. -He told me that the repairs weren't urgent and that I wouldn't need to fix it for a while. Less than 2 hours later I returned to pick up the purchased truck, and it wouldn't start for nearly 10 minutes. I couldn't drive it to work and had to have the starter and steering rack replaced for $1,483.00 three days after purchasing. -the dealership provided a passing Vehicle Inspection Report for the truck at the time of sale, even though the steering rack was dripping and shouldn't have passed safety without being replaced first. -the stereo was wired incorrectly, creating a horrible high-pitched static sound, which he bluntly stated that they would not fix. -the brakes were screeching loudly and consistently and recently had to be serviced at my expense. -he told me the summer tires, which weren't on the truck but stacked in the bed, were in great, safe condition. There were winter tires on the truck being sold in July. My mechanic showed me cracks and heavy wear on the summers and it was recommended not to use them. They were left to be disposed of at the dealership, but Dom argued to the end that they were in great shape. -the passenger side door was missing the rubber seal under the window, and the inside of the door was filling with water every time it rained. I had to replace this at my own expense and tear the door apart. As a young woman and small business owner purchasing my first truck, I hadn't expected to be continuously lied to and to have such an awful experience at Paul Tinney Auto Sales. I had a budget, found the truck I wanted, and negotiated to get it and make the few repairs I was aware of at a more reputable and trustworthy mechanic. The onus was on Dom, the sales manager, and Paul Tinney Auto Sales to fully and honestly disclose the condition of the truck I was purchasing. It should not have been for sale in its condition. It should not have passed their vehicle safety inspection with a wet and dripping steering rack. I should not have had to take this truck to my own mechanic, negotiate with them and set the record straight when they weren't honest for 5 hours, and make such important repairs at my own expense. Avoid this dealership. Get a second and even third opinion if you are in a situation like mine, and need a specific vehicle that they are selling.

I was looking for an older domestic car with low kiolmeters and decent price. Not impossible to find , you just have to look around. I stopped in here to see if they had anything out back. The sales Lady stepped outside and asked if she could help me. I thought I might as well tell her what I was looking for , maybe they will be getting something in. She was so rude and told me that what I was looking for was impossible, I informed her I had test driven two in the last couple of days. Her comment was you should have bought them then. It wasn't what she said it's her attitude and body language like I was a liing. That did it for me , when or if I choose to by a more expensive car it will not be from here. I will not recommend to my colleagues/friends or family. I suggest the manager speak to his sales reps , every person should be treated with respect. Could of said we don't have anything like that here. Update bought a 2012 Chevy Cruise with 60000km on it from Curry Chevrolet for $7000.00. Worth the drive for anyone wanting the above.

Highly recommend John Van Loosen! After searching and test driving at several other used car lots I met John, who's genuinity could not be hidden even if he tried. I told him my wish list, and he would call me whenever a vehicle that might "make the cut" showed up on their lot. That is what I call going above and beyond (none of the other 3 dealerships did this). The dealership itself honoured their 30 day drivetrain warranty like saints, and without hesitation. It was a pleasure working with you, John! Way to set a standard for used car dealerships. ????????

Dont bother showing up if your anywhere from mid-twenties and younger. Came to buy a challenger and wouldnt even give me pricing because of my age i guess. Told me to come back with a co-signer. Rediculous, nevertheless i went the kawartha chrysler and sure enough i was approved (shocker!) disgusting service

This used car dealership is amazing. They have been in the Peterborough area for a long time and they really value their relationship with the community. Their selection is amazing and they seem to have something new every day. They do all of their own detailing and they have a large service garage so they are a one-stop shop. Dom the sales manager is a great guy. He is knowledgeable, an excellent listener and there was absolutely no pressure to buy. If you are interested in getting a good used vehicle at a fair price be sure to check them out. Even if they don't have what you are looking for, they have all of the resources needed to find it.

Seemed like a good deal , friendly staff etc... a few days later engine light came on and tire pressure low (brand new tires put on that I paid extra for) called them up they said no problem we’ll take care of that and then when I went in they said it’s probably spark plugs but we won’t cover it. Probably won’t go back after this experience.

Purchased an Edge here in June 2016 and have had nothing but problems since. When originally purchased my wheel bearing was bad, which was missed in the safety so I had to return multiple times before it was fixed. They only replaced the rear pads and rotors for safety, which after about 2 months of driving the vehicle my front rotors became warped and had a chugging stop since, and also had to replace a separate wheel bearing. Less than a year had passed and my water pump blew (which ended up being a $2500 fix). I had purchased the powertrain warranty that they offer through National for $1400 to cover up to $2500 only to find out that the water pump is covered under the powertrain "plus" warranty, which was was not presented when purchasing. Contacted Gib about the issue and was told basically you are S.O.L and good luck with the vehicle. If you are purchasing a vehicle, don't let them talk you into the warranty as it is useless, and if you can avoid the dealership completely then I would recommend giving someone else your business. Oh and I also found out when I had a trade in appraisal done that there were 2, $2500 accidents on the car report which I was not informed about. Thanks Paul Tinney for amazing service

They forged the safety on my vehicle by selling it with seized brakes. They replaced everything but the calipers. I brought my vehicle back from squeaking brakes ( them being immediately worn out) and they said their fine. Squeaking continued and worsened until I removed both wheels and found seized sliders on both sides. Brought it back second time and peter replaced one side pads at my cost, still not fixing original problem. Lastly he did not call me back regarding work likley because I became aware of bad safety. All within 3 months of owning. Classic smile while they lie to you
