After purchasing a low mileage gm certified vehicle, I ran into huge electrical and suspension issues within a week of purchasing. The electrical issue was due to a water leak from the sunroof, as that's not covered under warranty I contacted Adam McGee to see what can be done. It was agreed that the dealership would cover the expensis to get repaired, but Adam was being very difficult about the problem and I mentioned his customer service wasn't that great. He then threatened me to not cover anything, and which point I mentioned the 30day Exchange policy, it was at that point I was rudely talked down to saying "I'm not in the business of returning vehicles, never have never will". Well it's part of the certified used booklet. In the end Cadillac customer care was involved and The dealership only ended up half fixing it. The water leak ruined parts of the factory sound system, but they felt they only had to make the car run. So 2 weeks after purchasing a vehicle It's been at the dealership for 8 days and I was returned it with only 80% of my sound system working. Maurice did a great job selling me the car, and I believe maybe a new car sale or a local person would get much better treatment, but as a young out of towner experiencing problems and then to get such rude treatment I cannot suggest this dealership. UPDATE************ due to the reply that followed I will have to lower my rating to a 1. This is the exact egotistical attitude that lead to me customer service comment in previous interactions. As per the $1000 "discount", in the original sale of the vehicle the price was negotiated on the condition of the vehicle, as both tail lights were broken, the wheels were trashed, the headliner was stained, AND finally, and least importantly the subwoofer was broken. Aswell as the vehicle being previously in a $11,000 worth of damage accident, None of this issues were disclosed before driving over 3 hours to view this vehicle. ($400 per tail light, $600-800 for wheel repair, $200 for interior detailing, and like stated a 200$ used eBay subwoofer). As the subwoofer was the cheapest that's what I replaced first (only to get ruined again). This would be called negotiations, not a discount. As this is a gm certified vehicle, one would expect it to be scrutinized. Adam going so far to point out once the issues occurred that they checked the sunroof drains specifically. How ever once inspected it was found one of the sun roof drains wasn't even attached and the other was kinked in multiple places. Which all of course led to the sub, electrical, a battery to be ruined, and farther damaging the headliner. The car has actually been serviced at Jack McGee it's whole life with its previous owner. one of the service records were related to the sunroof, so clearly this was a known issue that they passed off as the previous owner left the sunroof open. We have since found out that this was untrue. On top of this, to call a customer that has been treated in such ways "entitled" is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. Really tarnishing your daddies name on the building. So thanks Adam, for absolutely nothing. .

Start of the year a Chevrolet Silverado was purchased through Jack McGee and continued issues revolving around the engine light only days later. The vehicle was brought Into The service department only to be told to put high test gas in it and you may just have to deal with the light. I decided to purchase my own code reader to find out it was an O2 sensor causing the issue. Once again the vehicle was brought back into the service centre and they just cleared the error and told me the sensor was fine. Once again the engine light came on and now I’m back at the service centre a third time to deal with the same issue. I was offered a free oil change and yet the problem was unresolved and not fixed. I guess it’s cheaper to give an oil change than to fix the actual problem and please your cliental. I can’t even rate them to their disgust of how they treat people. This is only story 1 I then decided to trade my truck in to purchase a Venza. When driven off the lot, I noticed a clicking sound continuously occurring. I contacted Jack McGee to have it serviced. I was told nothing was wrong with it and if I want further inspection, it would cost 120.00. Keep in mind this is only a few days after purchase. I then contacted the used sales rep about the issue and he would speak to Adam about it. I received a voicemail stating that they couldn’t help out with the issue and I was on my own. This is how Jack McGees treats their clients and I would be astonished if anyone ever dealt with them and their dealership. I am pleading with you to deal elsewhere if you are excited about their vehicles. Jack McGee is absolutely awful and would never recommend them to anyone.

I had been looking for a pre-owned black, Ram 1500 Sport for several months. I found one listed on Jack McGee's website, but I was hesitant to deal with a high pressure 'used car salesman'. So I kept looking but I couldn't find what I was looking for privately, so I decided to contact someone at McGee's. Within minutes Briel replied and answered all my questions. I was still reluctant, so I told him I was going to hold off for the time being. I expected to be bombarded with high pressure emails...nope, not one. That impressed me so much, that I decided to test drive the 2013 black Ram 1500 Sport they had on the lot. I contacted Briel and he said he wasn't working, but his colleague Kevin would take care of me. Kevin waited, in the middle of a snow storm for me to drop by and test drive the truck, it was in immaculate condition. I decided to buy it that day. Kevin was so laid back and so honest...no pressure what-so-ever to buy the truck. The experience was so not what I was expecting...it was an absolute pleasure dealing with Briel, Kevin (who stayed for hours in the middle of a snow storm) and Jacqueline, in finance. After I picked up the truck, I had it in to the Ram dealership for a recall and the service rep. told me there was a broken manifold bolt that should have been repaired by the seller. Long story short, I contacted Briel and Kevin, who ran it by the service manager, Tony and they agreed to do the repair at no cost to me...who does that? Everyone, at Jack McGee's, including Joy in service, who took care of me when I took the truck in to repair the bold, was an absolute pleasure to deal with and they completely changed my mind about 'used car salesmen'! I'd give them all 6 stars if I could. I absolutely love the truck!!!"

My daughter and I were passing through Peterborough on a road trip when a warning light told us the right front tire on her new Cruze was low. I called Jack McGee's service department from my cell and they told me to bring it in right away even though it was very near the end of their business day. When we arrived they removed the bolt from the tire that had caused the leak, patched the hole, refilled the tire with nitrogen and had us on our way in really....just minutes. Excellent service. Thank you very much.

My wife and I recently bought our used (new to us) Cadillac XTS over the phone because we live 250 km away from Jack McGee Chevrolet and they earned every one of those 5 Stars. Briel in the used car sales, provided us with excellent service answering all our questions about the car and the process of buying the car sight unseen. He made us feel confident about buying from Jack McGee's a long established quality dealership. Now let me tell you why you buy from this quality dealership. After having our beautiful Cadillac for a week I started to notice a little clunk at the rear of the car, so I called Jack McGee's on a Saturday and spoke to Adam the used car manager and after explaining the noise and the fact that we live 250 km away, Adam said to have the car checked at my local GMC dealership, then he arranged for the repairs. Adam could of easily asked us to return the car to their dealership or do nothing at all. Jack McGee Chevrolet did exactly what I would expect a top quality dealership to do and I would not hesitate to buy or service a vehicle from them! Thank you again Adam and Briel!! The salesman Dale was awesome with us. He went through everything with us and was very thorough. He took his time with us and answered any questions we had. Wow I have been reading the responses here and I cannot believe some of the comments. My husband bought me a brand new 2015 Sierra Crew Cab in April of 2015. Our sales rep was Jon Jackson who went far beyond my expectation. As a business owner I truly know the value of buying local and the McGee's have always gave back to our community. Buying a vehicle should be a pleasant and enjoying experience. Unfortunately, it was anything but for my husband and I. We drove just over an hour to test drive with full intentions on purchasing a vehicle today. We found a Kia Sorento on auto trader with less than 20,000kms in our price range. We message Kevin from Jack McGees and he messages us back with vehicle specks. Again the vehicle has less than 20,000. The dealership was very esthetically pleasing but we were outcasted to a little shack which was the used car department like second class citizens. Anyways, we were greeted and sent on our way for a test drive where we quickly noticed the less than 20,000kms vehicle had 69,000!! We turned around and asked the sales person if he had given us the wrong vehicle and his response was no we only have one vehicle. We told him the ins we different than advertised and this is where the sales man proceeded to blame my husband for sending him an email with the specks in the email! Sorry those specks were from autotrader which you (salesperson) confirmed and sent back. Wasted almost 3 hours of our time. I checked Jack McGees website where the vehicle is posted yet again with incorrect kms. Their website says under 7,000kms when again it should be 69,000. Apparently, Jack Mcgees lacks professionalism and intergrity. I need not one newer vehicle but two newer vehicles and I will not be purchasing from Jack McGees. The vehicle does not have 6,845kms it has 69,000 and on autotrader its listed at 19,000kms.

This is there single worst dealership in Ontario!! Horrible customer service, and absolutely horrible service department. If I could give a negative rating I would. Experience 1: Considered buying a used sonic about a year ago, the sales person was fine, but uneducated in the car he trying to sell. The finance person was absolutely horrible, rude when we decided to not buy the car and over the top ignorant. Experience 2: We owned a 2009 impala that has recently gotten a safety recall, so naturally because we live in ptbo this was the closest GM dealership it went there for the recall fix. They didn't fix the issue then tried to make me pay for diagnostics when it was a recall issue. Further more despite reading them the recall which stated exactly what was going on with the impala, they straight up said no and still pushed me to pay for diagnostics. What little faith I had left in GM is now gone, picked up my brand new Ford Fiesta two days ago from Holiday Ford, and all I can say is that they went over and above to ensure I was happy where Jack Mcgee wouldn't even fix a safety recall and I think that says it all. I wouldn't go to this dealership to save my life.

One of the worst service experiences I have ever had. The lady who assisted me treated me like I was an idiot when I already knew what the problem was. She refused to look into recalls for my vehicle and was snide the entire time. I will never go back and I would much rather drive all of the way to Lindsay instead of 10 minutes down the road. Appalled. If I could give something zero stars it would be this place.

My wife and I went to McGee's this morning to learn about all the magic our new Cadillac XT5 can do. I always knew that their sales and service people were top of the line in friendliness and respect. Today, the young man, who guessed right away that we not 'techies', patiently and respectfully took us through a 'tutorial' that was illuminating to say the least. The things that vehicle can do verge into the realm of science fiction. Kudos to Patrick, Maurice, Tony, Jackie and all the staff who make a visit to McGee's an enjoyable adventure.

I saw a 2013 Kia Optima advertised in the Autotrader and contacted the dealership. The salesperson put a non-deposit hold on the vehicle for me when he heard that I would be coming from out of town to see the vehicle that evening. Upon my arrvial I was greeted by a staff member who met me by name and took me out to meet the sales rep located in the used car lot. From this point on I experienced no pressure during the drive or sales process which also included my trade-in. I have purchase many vehicles over the years and I can say without a doubt that this was my most enjoyable on many levels -the sales staff were incredibly pleasant, respectable and worked together efficiently througout the whole process. Any dealership is good as its staff and this is good truly the case with my experience at this dealership which I have since recommend and wouldn't hesitate to return to all the way from Ajax. Took my car in and had the thermostat replaced. Few months later the thermostat stops working and the heat won’t work in my car. Called jack McGee and they wanted to charge me $120 to look at my car and not even fix it. The part should be under warranty and they should check it out at no cost. Worst customer service. The lady on the phone hung up on me 3 times before finally getting to speak to someone. I will never take my car to jack McGee again not recommend them... that place is a money grab.

I'll be honest I have never had a great experience when working with a dealership until I came in to get my 2018 Silverado serviced with McGee's. Matt Spence is phenomenal when it comes to knowledge and professionalism and he is always able to get me in, looked after and back on the road in no time at all. Its nice to be able to call in with an issue and have it diagnosed over the phone, in and out for service the next day or so without any questions at all. I had an issue with the clear coat on the vehicle and chemical blemish in the paint. As anyone knows the pain of dealing with warranty issues can be time consuming and frustrating to say the least. The service manager Tony and Matt were unbelievable to deal with and without any issue corrected the problem area and put my mind at ease. I would recommend these guys to anyone requiring service, you definetly won't be disappointed with the decision.

So I do not currently own a GM. I have a Mazda 3... but I started with a Chev, and when all other shops failed I went home. Yes I said home. I'm biased toward thinking of this dealership as home because I had a family member who worked there for many of my younger years. 11 months, 12 previous attempts to get someone to repair my car since an engine swap and 2 hours at this dealership and i have heat. If you are looking for a company that stands behind their product go somewhere else. I bought a new truck 30,000 kms ago and the front brakes are completely gone. Needed new pads and rotors already. GM and Jack McGee are not willing to even pay for the parts to fix the problem even though I was told by the service manager that it was a common problem that GM knows about. A sickening feeling when your brakes start to go and you're on a busy highway far, far from home. I was lucky to be near Peterborough when it happened, and I was even luckier that in Peterborough there is this dealership with the amazing people who helped me. The thirty minute, careful, stressful drive back into town while my subconscious helpfully replayed every nightmare I've ever had about brakes failing was the longest thirty minutes of my life. I reached the dealership absolutely safe, but also a complete wreak. Joy and the team were compassionate and patient as I had trouble speaking even to give them the info they needed to do their job. They had my car in and Brad was looking at it within minutes, even though it was a fairly busy day for them already. For the next couple hours they tried everywhere to find the piece that would get me back on the road ASAP, (and I could overhear them consulting, calling, discussing options..) When Joy came to talk to me about what was wrong, what they could fix, what they couldn't know for sure until they got farther, and what else they had noticed that didn't yet need fixing.. She was honest and straightforward and made sure I understood everything. And repeated a couple times that there was work that didn't need doing yet, but that they'd seen was going to be needed and I should get it looked at when I got home. Even knowing that the job would end up going to some other dealer. Then she found me a motel room (after much amusing discussion amongst the team about which motel would be best value without sacrificing comfort.) Not a completely easy task during Peterborough's Festival of Lights. And they stored my frozen food for me (it made it! Thanks again!) And found someone to give me a lift to the motel on their way home. (Thank you Ted, hope your trip went well!) The motel was minutes away from the festival, so the silver lining in this story was a free Alan Doyle concert. The next morning they came and got me from the motel, had the work done by the time I got there, and were just loading my cooler back in. My brakes are now better than before. A great experience during a rough time for me. They deserve more than 5 stars. Thanks again especially to Joy and Brad. -- Jen K

Recently purchased a used 2017 Chevy Cruze hatchback from Jack McGee. Overall, my experience was great. The whole pre-owned sales team was friendly and personable. Kevin Evans was the main sales associate I was dealing with. Kevin kept in touch with me without ever getting pushy, as it was around 2 weeks from when I initially test drove the car until I returned to the dealership to try and strike a deal. Again, during the negotiation process I never felt any pressure from Kevin. He even worked with me and the sales manager, Adam, to get a better price on the car and include a new trunk cover deck lid, which was missing from the vehicle, for no extra cost. There are only two reasons why this is a 4 star review instead of 5: first, they offered very little for my trade in vehicle. I understood that it was a 12 year old vehicle with high km's, but it still ran well. I've seen other dealerships offer my family/friends $1000 for a car that had to be towed out of their drive way and $500 for a vehicle that barely ran, but I was offered less than that. So that was disappointing. Second, there was a small tear on a leather trim piece on the dashboard I didn't notice until I drove the car home. Being a certified pre-owned vehicle, this should have been caught and repaired during the inspection process. Thankfully, when I called the dealership to inform them of the tear, they were very helpful and repaired the tear at no cost. Overall, I recommend anyone looking for a used vehicle to give Jack McGee serious condiseration. I would not hesitate to purchase another vehicle from them.

Recently we had a very good experience in purchase of a certified pre-owned Buick Verano from Jack McGee’s dealership in Peterborough. In our search for a used vehicle it turned out that the cars which best met our wish list were in out of town dealerships one of which was Jack McGee. Buying a used car and that too from a place that is 100 plus miles from home is not something I was excited about, but I decided to give it a try and doing as much due diligence as possible through emails and phone. Adam McGee and Matt Magee were very helpful and forthcoming and promptly responded to my inquiries; sending even more information than I asked for. When I asked if I could get an independent inspection done, they said that I can take it to any mechanic in Peterborough area. I was impressed by their efficient and candid style and in about a week we reached to an agreement over the essentials of the deal. On following Saturday we drove to Peterborough to the dealership; once there it was a very pleasant experience from beginning to end. The folks there were all courteous and professional. We were pleased to see the Buick which was just as described. We were encouraged and helped in all sorts of ways to test and inspect the vehicle to our satisfaction. The purchase details and paperwork were handled professionally and smoothly by Matt Magee and later by Jacqueline Tomen in Financial Service Dept. Everything was as they explained earlier; there were no hidden fees or charges, no surprises. A couple of days later, as promised, all financing, licensing and insurance work was done, the car was detailed thoroughly and was sparkling and ready. Folks at Jack McGee made the whole process very comfortable and satisfactory. I highly recommend Jack McGee's dealership to anyone looking for a pre-owned, certified or a new car.

Your review was low as I requested pricing on winter tires through your website and after having to make multiple attempts to receive a response, I finally did receive a quote. The pricing received was over $500 more than the dealership I purchased the car from (a GM dealer in Toronto). They we're like quotes including TPMS. While I would prefer to support local business, I chose not to. I realize that you are the sole GM dealer now in town but perhaps you could be far more competitive in your quotation. I did send an email back stating I found the quote high but received no response back. I should be able to get a fair price that is market competitive, nor should anyone have to work that hard to be your customer.

My Daughter (19 years old ) was looking for a vehicle she came home for a few days from Sault Saint Marie and was on a time line. She seen a 2014 GMC silverado that she liked . So Kevin Evans and Larry Downer put together a package deal that she could work with , the day before she was to pick it up they found out there was a recall on the vehile that she wanted. So to keep her happy they offered her a 2016 GMC Sierra ( Expandtion)with only 27 km on it ,with full warrenty ,black like she wanted more options then the used one for only $10.00 more a month on her financing with them . The look on her face words could not say this was her dream come true she got a vehicle that will last her for many ,many years. Going from a used 2003 Cavilier to a brand new 2016 truck ,. Absolutely the worst dealership I've ever been too. Had a levelling kit installed...don't even make it out of the parking lot and the front end is squeaking. I'm thinking it's not a big deal so I make a appointment to have it looked at. Bring it in and they say one of the struts are leaking and accuse me of it leaking before the install of the levelling kit. I'm thinking your technician just had his head in the wheel well for a hour or more installing the kit...you think he would seen it then. Anyways they replace the strut and say it's fixed. Pick it up and once again before I get out of the parking lot it's still squeaking. Bring it in again and they replace the other strut. Once again before I get out of the lot it's squeaking. Then they replace sway bar bushing. Take a guess what happens. Still squeaking. Finally I think they fix it when they replace bump stops. Was good for about a month and now the sqeauking is worse than ever. Ask them to remove the levelling kit and refund me. Can't do it they say. After all the hours of work I miss because of they're incompetence you think they could fork out $600 and send me away a satisfied customer...definitely not a happy one! Needless to say I will never let them touch another vehicle of mine nor even give them the opportunity to sell me anything. Finally if you're looking for a GM vehicle do yourself a favour and go to mill motors in Oshawa. I just purchased a new truck from them and they had the best price by far. No none sense either. If there was a lower rating than 1 star jack McGees would've earned it.

They sold a car to my mother in 2019. Brand new Chevy cruise. My mother struggled with walking and breathing and should not have bought a car. Not even a year later she rolled the car. She was in hospital for over a month. Once she got home, she was no longer walking or even using the washroom. She sat in diapers and unable to even perform simple tasks. They would have to pick her up to complete paperwork therefore they saw the condition she was in. There was a sales guy there that had somehow made my mom believe he was interested in her, Matt!!!! She love my father the year before and was lonely so easily swayed. My mother passed away in part to this accident. I just emailed and Facebook messaged jack McGee dealership. No response from email so I Facebook messaged. Only to have no response and blocked from their page or ability to message. These dealerships need to change their sales practices. I recently purchased a used Camaro from Jack McGee's which was covered under the Certified program. The vehicle was immaculate with low mileage and was in virtually "as new" condition. The sales rep was Bill Sterling and I also dealt with Adam McGee, the used car sales manager. Both fellows were very pleasant and low pressure to deal with. All aspects of the sale, from negotiations, financing and picking up the vehicle went very smoothly. Joy in the service area provided me with some general feedback on Camaros from a service perspective (all positive). I recently had a minor issue with a remote control key fob glitch and while not technically covered under the extended warranty, Adam McGee agreed to cover it as a goodwill gesture. I've been very pleased with both my (almost) new car and the great service provided by this dealership !!!

I brought my car in for recall repair for a gas leak at *no charge*. They said that the leak wasn't from there and charged me 1/2 hour service to do nothing. I did not authorize any repair or diagnostic charges. They did not call me or have me sign a form when I brought the car in. I found the service agent brusque and contradictory. I feel that I should NOT have been charged for service I did not authorize. I did not sign a release. Is that even legal? Don't bring your car here for service.

My wife and I were saved by the staff at Jack Mcgee on the weekend,we arrived in Peterborough Friday night in our RV and unexpectedly blew the fan belt on the motor,too late to do anything that night,we spent the night in Walmart parking lot,Saturday morning we started making calls to get belt replaced and be on our way After a couple unsuccessful calls to garages who were too busy to help,I called Jack Mcgee's,instantly we were in luck,talked to Kaitlyn in customer service,told her of our predicament,quick check with guys in the shop she said no problem we can help,after getting rv towed over,and thank you Greg Mckraken from CAA. True to their word they us fixed and back on the road in an hour! Been driving over 40 years, this isn't my first dealership. Ran out of gas because my gauge was stuck (in a new to me inherited car). They didn't know me from anyone, but they loaned me a gas can. That was nice! Later I met JR McGee by chance, told him about the gas can and discussed my inherited '86 Corvette. It started there, he's an awesomely friendly guy. Brought it in for needed service, and I met Greg in parts who found me OEM alternatives that made sense and made me very happy. I next met Matt in Service who was absolutely awesome and absolutely knows his stuff. He suggested, not pushed, what I needed now and needed later, and optional at any time. He also managed to do what made sense for my car's age. Because of common sense it was 33% cheaper than another quote I got from a different dealership. I then met Wayne who's an amazing mechanic. He got everything right the very first time, this car runs amazingly well and I really want to deal with just these guys from now on! Nobody laughed at me for wanting to fix an old car, everyone took me seriously and everyone looked out for MY best interests. We have owned 1 Saturn from Jack McGee Peterborough and it was a alright vehicle... It was a 2001 Saturn Coupe 2 with just over 160,000 Km on it... With little things going wrong here and there along the way we just fix it and moved on... But in the end there was just to many problems that they said needed to be fixed for it to be road worthy again... At the beginning we were going to fix it until they gave us the price... They wanted $4000 for some things that we could have probably went without and fixed on our own... After we got ride of the 2001 Saturn Coupe 2 in early 2014 we went to Jack McGee Peterborough a few weeks later and were possibly going to get 2 new cars... When we went to look and were there for over and hour we were given no assistance and never ended up even getting 1 vehicle from them... And we don't plan on getting one from them in the future...

Pressure tactics by the service advisor Allan. I did not authorize any warranty work to be overworked here. He repeatedly kept advising me that warranty must be performed here in order to for warranty expire. I still didn't authorize the warranty work. A few calls later I was advised that the warranty was already in progress and being performed. Now the fun part, they are performing the warranty work without my authorization and at the end of the day billing GM and me for performing diagnosis. Cheeky tactics to extract every little cent every where. I will be going to small claims court. Good to have a wife that's a paralegal.

My mom bought a new trax from this dealership a few months later cancer put her in to palliative care she was not able to drive. When I called the sales manager he truly seem to not care at all and told me he would give me $16,000 for a vehicle comfortably worth 21,000. She just bought it a few months previous for almost $25,000 in just a few months do you think a $9000 loss is OK?? Ethics and true business morals important to me I would never use or recommend this dealership.

I decided to stop by the Jack McGee dealership to see what they had in stock not thinking that there was any chance that I could afford my dream Duramax with the Allison transmission. Jason McCarthy approached me while I was strolling around the lot. We discussed what I would be looking in a truck and the fact that they did not have what I was looking for on the lot.
