After doing extensive Internet research, we settled on two possible car models to replace our aging Dodge Caravan and then started looking for a vehicle to buy. We found one listed at what turned out to be a small dealership named Hunsbro Autos, so drove there to check it out.
Owner Mueen Lone showed us the car we had come to see and then mentioned that he had another vehicle that we might like to look at as well. After we had taken each for a test drive, Mueen took us through the history of both vehicles and showed us their Carfax reports.
After we returned home, I asked Mueen if he could send us the Carfax reports so that we could take a closer look and he immediately emailed them both to us. In the end we settled for the second car, even though it was a few years older than we had originally planned for. The next day we sat down with Mueen and negotiated what we felt was a fair price, down from his original asking price.
During the next few days, while Mueen was handling the change of ownership, etc, we sold the van, so he volunteered to meet us at our apartment building with the car when it was ready. Because our insurance didn't start until the next day, he arranged for a friend to pick him up and drive him back.
Mueen arrived with the car, which he'd prepped with a wash and detailing, new brakes with high-end pads, etc, and an oil change with synthetic oil.
I'd noticed a minor blemish on the paint and he promised to order a touch-up paint-stick from the dealer. By the time he called to let me know he had the stick, I'd also discovered the cigar-lighter socket was not working. He immediately volunteered to pick the car up from our place and take it to an auto-electrician for repair. There have been no further issues come to light since and we are very happy with our new set of wheels.
All-in-all, exceptional service given with a sincere, genuine smile. It was a pleasure doing business with Mueen and I would highly recommend him to other buyers, especially those who, like us, would in fact prefer, if possible, to do a private deal. Unfortunately, nowadays there are just too many unscrupulous kerbside dealers out there masquerading as private sellers.
