My wife and I were recently looking to upgrade from our old Toyota Corolla when we came across a great deal on a Toyota SUV online through Lancaster Auto. I negotiated a price on a used car in person, but was told it would take 2 days to get safetied and e-tested. 2 days later I was told the car was damaged beyond repair and was a paperweight. 4-5 days later it's posted again at an even higher price than the one it was originally posted at . I called and asked if it was still available, and the guy said yes it was. VERY NOT COOL!

Thought this place was decent until yesterday.... this place is sketchy and annoying. My boyfriend and I were looking at an accord they had there and we loved it! We were able to get a line of credit to pay for the car all up front. My boyfriend calls them yesterday to let them know we are interested in buying the car Saturday and that we had a line of credit and everything. The guy he was talking to tells him that the car is getting new brakes and everything and will call my boyfriend back in 20 minutes when the car will be available he never mentioned about another person wanting the car or anything. Calls my boyfriend back later and tells them another person is interested in the car but if we out a down payment before they close then we can get the car. Sorry my boyfriend and i both work and you close at 6 on fridays. Good thing i have smart parents who told me thats how they rush you into buying the car. Dont rush people thats stressful and annoying was willing to pay all up front today but no they ruined it and didnt get the sale and i bet you that no one was looking at the car since its still up for sale

Normally when you walk into a car dealership, all the sales people care about is getting their hands on your money. This is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of how I felt when I bought my car with Deen. His main concern was making sure that I found the right car for me and a price that fit my budget. The dealership that understand the customer’s need. I secured a car of interest in their company for 2 good weeks, after that the interest rates I was given Wasn’t close to my budget. I expressed my concern to Kevin that, I am no longer buying the car. Without hesitation, Kevin agreed and gave me options. For the 2wks waiting I expected him to be mad, or kinda wanna split the amount or even pay for the days waiting. He just said it’s fine Claudine, « but in the meantime let check with other institutions »He refunded the deposit fully, something that has never happened to me with other dealers. Kevin found a reasonable institution and after a week had passed by, I came back and finalize the deal. My overall experience was perfect, Kevin was professional, understanding, helpful and gave window to make a sound decision, with no pressure but options that made sense. My wife and I really needed to replace her car....she wanted a very specific make and model.....we found her dream car at Lancaster Auto. We live in Northwestern Ontario and due to the pandemic I was very Leary about flying to the south and having to spend too much time in the area.....we did the complete deal online they even tinted the windows for us.....it was such a pleasant interaction.....the guys that work there were very understanding and had the car ready to go for me so all I had to do was hand over the cheque, sign the registration and drive away......drove 1800 km straight back to Thunder Bay with no issues, car runs great and looks great... Bought a van from Lancaster Auto on Belfast and could not drive it off the lot due to front defroster not working in -20°C weather and metal scrapping by tire. There was also fresh yellow and red paint on the passenger seat. Mr Tire Garage fixed it up, but I needed to come back for further repairs, and paint removal. Lancaster Auto couldn't get the paint off, sent me across town to someone who could. I asked them what this magical wonder cleaner was they were using - all-purpose upholstery cleaner! So I don't think Lancaster Auto put much work or time into the paint removal but I did get an apology from them. Took it to a second garage and payed an extra $800 to get it safe, so would definitely recommend a 2nd opinion on the "safety". Also, note the odometer because the van drove about 600km in the two days between purchase and safety. Buyer beware! update: I am dropping my rating from two stars to one. Went to get winter tires off/summer tires on, and the summer tires Lancaster Auto sold me are way off. Shame on me for not even considering they would sell me the wrong tires! Manual says tires should be 225/70 R16 (which is what the winter tires are), and the summer tires are 215/50 R17 - not even close. Again, BUYER BEWARE with Lancaster Auto!

Got a car we though was a good deal. Salesman talked a great deal in selling us. However after buying we spent 3 weeks going to their garage for repairs and engine not fixed yet always a malfunction showing. Then one month after buying the gear shift came off . I'm afraid to go back to garage now 30 day warranty up to see the engine malfunction and gear shift will cost. THE CAR IS A LEMON.

My experience at this dealership was horrible. They sold me a Dodge Avenger that stalls and apparently can't figure out the problem. I went to another dealership and they identified the problem and fixed it. I had also brought a friend to Lancaster auto sales and she has been having similar issues and has brought her vehicle back to be fixed and they are trying to screw her around. This is the worst dealership I've ever dealt with. Stay away from this dealership.

Bought off them three years ago. Just went on line and saw a car I was looking for there. Wondered if my experience was an exception instead of the rule. Saw that they seem to be running the same old scam. My purchase needed a canister according to my check engine light code. They passed it at the garage they use but they had obviously simply reset the code. They booked an appointment for me afterwards when I called them on it. When I arrived for my appointment somehow the part hadn’t arrived or was lost. Never returned any of my calls or emails afterwards. As others have noted, it appears to be a scam run with the garage. Beware.

One thing I don't like doing is car shopping. I have always gotten taken in one way or another. I don't have very good credit and was looking to just buy whatever I was approved for. AMAZING SERVICE. Bought my pickup from Mark at Lancaster Auto and the service has been perfect. When I was first looking at the truck it needed some minor engine work and some other stuff for it to pass safety. I had my personal mechanic do a once over on it and found a few other things that needed to be fixed that were going to be very expensive. I brought the list to Dean and he had it all fixed without trying to raise the price of the truck at all. Never once tried to get more money out of me. Owned the truck for about 3 weeks then the starter went. Brought the truck back and had the starter replaced without a problem. Would buy another truck from them in a heartbeat and will continue to tell people about the unbelivable service I experianced. Never once had the feeling that I was being pushed to buy. Mark the salesman and Dean the owner were awsome to deal with aswell as Scott the mechanic that we delt with that was working on the truck.

My own personal experience i use to be in the car business years ago. So buying a used car was something the typically comes with a pre conceived skeptical and stressful feeling. That being said i purchased a vehicle from Toronto over the phone never seen in person or driven. Now i don’t expect most people would do this, but dealing with Kevin and doing my own due diligence as much as possible i felt more than comfortable. Ifound him to be honest and upfront and granted my inquiries about the vehicle and it’s history. I also did my homework on my side about this dealership and read the reviews. And yes even reviews can be manipulated and also have some detractors. I can’t speak to everyone’s experience but every dealership will have their detractors that’s just the car business. But if you do your homework as much as possible that’s all one can really do. But in this experience it was positive and i’m very happy with the outcome. I can’t say i’d travel this far again to purchase a car but if i did i’d hope it would be as positive as it were with Lancaster Auto and Kevin!!......Lastly don’t judge a book by its cover this little dealer may be small and might not instil confidence by its appearance but the people who are there and doing the good work is what matters!! Keep up the good work Lancaster!! Auto!!

I bought a car here and had issues with it from day one. Dean informed me I required an engine replacement. He agreed to replace the engine. From January to July, Dean had the car in his poscession, stating that it took a great deal of time to find a good used engine for my car. When I got the car back in July it had the same issues. Dean took the car back again and I got the car back in October. The car ran good for about 5km before having the engine light come on. I brought the car to another garage only to find out that Dean never replaced the engine or did the work to majority of the issues he said he would fix! After confronting Dean he just denied everything and said it was my fault. Stay away from this dishonourable liar!

(Translated) I bought an F-150 Deen truck to make sure everything was fine, except that it was stolen from the carfax file, but found later. By going to Ford the truck has been declared total loss in their file, so I am not entitled to any recall and guarantees Ford. I was for 3 months almost every week asking Deen for the insurance report p.c. to prove to Ford that the car never had an accident. Always the answer I will take care of it this week and the same thing the 8 times. They probably have something to hide. When we put the 4X4 there is a noise that came from the transfer case. Result: Tranfer box drill up + differential damage too. Total cost $ 5109.06. What does Deen do nothing yet. (Original) J'ai acheter un camion F-150 Deen m'as assurer que tout était beau, excepter qu'il as été voler dans le dossier carfax, mais retrouver plus tard. En allant chez Ford le camion a été déclarer perte totale dans leur dossier ,alors je n'ai pas droit a aucun rappel et garantit Ford. J'ai été pendant 3 mois presque tout les semaine pour demander a Deen le rapport de l'assurance p.c.q. pour prouver a Ford que l'auto n'as jamais eu d'accident. Toujours la réponse je vais m'en occuper cet semaine et la mêmes chose les 8 fois. Ils ont surement quelques chose a cacher. Quand on a mis le 4X4 il y as un bruit qui est venue du transfert case. Résultat: Tranfert case percer en haut + différentiel endommager aussi. Coût total $5109.06. Que fait Deen rien encore.

Like any other vehicle that's used. There might he some hidden problems that you really can't see. But being a buisness owner myself I have to say that even after 5 return back Dean the owner was always ready to repair everything on my diesel van he sold me. Just to clear things up the van was shaking and it was due to brand new tires being defective and was still showing balanced. Made it hard to diagnose. And like any other place there is some bad apples in any and every buisness out there. But again the owner made sure things got fixed and made sure to adress his staff in a professional way to stick around his garage a little later then open hours to be more convenient for the repairs . I recommend this place for that and there good prices. The garage has one mechanic who is the heart and soul of Lancaster automotive his name is paul. Don't trust their safety, they're just thieves! Bought a car a month ago and even the brakes have problems. I went back the day after to show the problem with the breakes and they asked me to pay to fix the problem. But guess what? I paid all the money they asked and they just pretended to fix the problem. Two days after I realised the same problem with brakes appeared. They've just stolen the money and even some personal things I had in the car. SHAME ON THEM! Just don't trust them!

Total ripoff, bought a car from here and after bringing it in to a mechanic there were several issues noted with the vehicle. The lights were not wired properly and kept burning out. After a year of driving the air conditioner started to go. It was replaced with a part that Dean the owner ordered and after a week or two it flunked out. Brought it into another mechanic a more trust worthy one he determined that the compressor and condenser needed to be replaced. He ordered the parts new and installed it. When I brought up the issue of the air conditioner with the owner Dean he blew me off and smirked. The people that work here are hustlers and rip people off. Avoid this business and I wouldn't recommend buying a car here.

Great service with a good price. The car I bought was inspected by my mechanic and it was all great. The cover plate underneath was missing a piece to protect the oil filter and the dealership replaced the whole plate free to me but it cost the dealership a few bucks since it is a Lexus. They were responsive to my queries. Great place to buy.
