Just walked away as an extremely happy owner of a 2018 Crosstrek. I originally contacted North Shore Subaru online as I had had bad experiences with dealerships in the past and have some residual anxiety. Well that was all for naught. Victoria helped me through the whole process from financing to final decisions on interior colours, I felt guided, but left alone enough to make my own decisions and not feel like I was being “sold”. She even offered me a snack when I mentioned my growing hunger. Amazing service. My anxiety is long gone and I’m left with a very happy experience and a car that I’m over the moon about. Today was a true low point. I called the service department at North Shore Subaru from the side of highway 1, on way home to The Sunshine Coast via the Horseshoe Bay Ferry. Frighteningly, our Forester suddenly lost power, but fortunately we were able to roll into the shoulder. We immediately called BCAA , who initially informed us that, because of high demand volume, we'd have to wait approximately 4 to 5 for a tow. When I explained that my wife, 12 year old daughter and were waiting anxiously at the side of a busy highway, they put us on high priority and a tow truck arrived in under 20 minutes. My next call was to North Shore Subaru. The service department immediately informed me that they were too busy to help. When I explained the situation I was told, nothing could be done until well into January (a month away). BCAA was kind enough to recommended a nearby mechanic who, although also busy, recognized our need. He called us within an hour and informed us a new alternator was required and it would done by the afternoon of the next day. The name of the garage that took care of us in our time of need is "Integra Tire and Auto Service of North Van." It's wonderful to know service and care still exists, just not (from our experience) at North Shore Subaru.

I had researched the car wanted for a year, and I concluded a Subaru Crosstrek would be the perfect car for my needs. A stylish midsize all wheel drive fuel efficient vehicle at the right price point. My next challenge was finding a dealer to purchase the car from which proved to be a very difficult task untill my third attempt. The people at Docksteader Subaru wouldn't even return my phone calls after two attempts. Strike one. The folks at Richmond Subaru did set up a test drive with me, but the sales person I spoke with over the phone pawned off the test drive to a "Jr" or new sales person. He took me on a one block test drive and could not answer any of my questions about the cars Subaru offers. Strike two. I hit a home run when I spoke with Freddy from Jim Patterson Subaru North Vancouver. I linked to him via a convenient internet chat room on thier web site. He was very courteous and respectful once we met, and he showed me the best car they had available for my needs. Salina from the finance team finished the deal with a fare car loan, and I got insurance minutes later with the same exemplary customer service. I am now a very proud owner of a Subaru Crosstrek. It has been changed drastically from a place with great customer service with professional staff to an almost chaotic one. Long appointment wait list, and not very well time management. I had to leave my car overnight and lost a day of work. Picked up the car and the issue wasn’t resolved properly. No car washing, as it used to be. The front desk person was very young and not very professional.

I had a wonderful car buying experience at Subaru at the North Shore Automall. I had originally only been planning to look at Toyota and Honda (have owned one of each before), but a girlfriend told me to check out Subaru, as she'd just bought there after doing a ton of research and the Outback came out ahead of the Rav-4 and CRV. So I went to Subaru as well (was at the automall anyway, so why not?) and met with Freddy Ghanei, who she had dealt with. Freddy was knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted to get us the car we wanted. We went for a test drive and sure enough this car drove better than the other 2 and was packed with more safety features as well. Freddy gave us a quote, and we went home to discuss. We were new car owners just 2 weeks later, with all the bells and whistles we wanted, as well as super low financing. The rest of the team, Victoria (warranties and add ons) and Wei (insurance) were all very helpful, very knowledgeable and I enjoyed my experience in buying my new car, which I LOVE! Recently bought a new Subaru from JP Subaru NorthShore in early July. On my first visit I arrived about an hour and a half before closing. Jack He greeted me as I was looking through cars. He took the time to know my needs and requirements and inform me of the various models, trims, etc. Despite it being close to closing he took the time to arrange for me to see and drive several models and get a feel for what I wanted. I didn't sign that same day, but he left a lasting impression and I was looking at a specific model and trim. Over the next week I came back and dealt with Jack, Danny, and Victoria in Finance. All were very knowledgeable, informative, and professional throughout the process. I had been looking at buying a new car for several months and this was my 2nd visit to a Subaru dealership and, while the vehicle certainly ticketed all the boxes for my needs, the people at this dealership made me want to come back and work with them and they were all amazing in their respective roles.

Review 2: After a year I traded in my Forester for my STI. Unfortunately Arthur isn’t here anymore, but I dealt with Freddy Ghanei and the experience was just as good as the first time. First, I went in this past Saturday to have my Subaru for service, and though I don't know the gentleman's name at the service desk that time, I want to say that I am quite impressed with his service and that he was able to have my car service done within 30-45 minuets, knowing that I have a meeting to go to within the hour I dropped my vehicle off. Thank you! Second, there's one thing I noticed while I was catching up with a product advisor who sold me my first Subaru. I just want to say that I am not quite impressed how I didn't feel welcomed when coming in and am fairly disappointed by the lack of customer service appeal when I saw that the other product advisors who were sitting/standing around doing absolute nothing, watched me while I was talking and huddled in a group (kind of a clicky atmosphere) gossiping, which felt very excluding and uncomfortable while I was conversing. I don't mean any judgement, but I work for a community centre and the one thing I love doing as part of my work is social-connecting with people in an inclusive community environment. I just want to recommend to the group of the product advisors to be kind and welcoming to your customers, regardless whether you know the customer or not. I do empathize that the days are long and the work has to be done, but a simple 'hello, how are you' makes a difference to a customer's day. Thank you, Harriett

After checking out the JP Northshore vehicles on line - I live out of town - I singled out the Subaru I wanted. A brief email exchange and phone chat with Freddy (settling most of the purchase arrangements) followed. Then I visited the dealership to conclude the sale. The process was uncomplicated with no notable surprises. Since then I have had an email or two inviting me to phone Freddy/the dealership should I need info/help. This I will certainly do if need be because I anticipate a prompt, enabling response. n.b. A suggestion: purchasers should make themselves aware of the add ons which will be offered after the vehicle sale price has been agreed upon.

Service advisor at North Short Subaru told me I needed to replace brakes & replace rotors. When I asked what was wrong with my rotors they couldn't be machined: I was told my specific model, 2014 Crosstrek, "always recommended rotor replacement". Immediately I contacted another Subaru dealer who recommended and efficiently completed the correct brake service: brake pad replacement with machined rotors (as should be standard practice). Update 2022: How does one stop this company from calling me? I've asked nicely. I'm NEVER coming back. Desperate for customers?

My wife took her new Forester in for first service two weeks ago. Found oil stains on our carport floor a few days later. Bought degreaser and washed carport floor. Found more oil stains again. Opened the hood and found that the oil filler cap was left sitting next to the filler pipe and engine oil had been spilling out of the pipe and over engine, then dripped down to floor pan and below. Had to take car in for another scheduled appointment to have the engine bay cleaned. I would say that the cleaning job is 90%. Car is not new anymore. Wife phoned up the service manager Olivier and he said “what do you want”. Was told that they will pay for degreaser if we come down with sales receipt. No apology, no consideration for time and trouble they caused. Think twice before you trust them with your car, your time, and your energy. Two weeks later..... The general manager Bernard Le contacted us and offered to further clean the car to our satisfaction. He was very gracious and today the car was cleaned again. Almost new again. Good to know that management is serious about customer satisfaction. Hope the employees do not create more issues for management in the future.

Increasingly frustrated by lackluster service. My latest experience in a growing line of poor customer experiences, I booked my outback in to have the R hand wing mirror housing repaired, when I returned, the housing was repaired but the mirror was broken. I was not informed at any point during the day, or during pick up of my car that the mirror was broken and needed to be repaired the following day. I'm increasingly disappointed in the total lack of service and communication from this location. I will be looking elsewhere for service in future. The situation was later rectified to my satisfaction, but required effort on my part to follow up.

Terrible service I wouldn’t recommend these so called mechanics to anyone. They have absolutely , no respect for there work or commitment to the customers to fix the problem. My car had a ruff idle and after 3 visits to Jim Patterson Subaru. They where unable to help or fix my problem afte thousands of dollars spent there. They couldn’t even put bolts back that held my exhaust heat shields in place. And failed to identify worn out brakes that cause my gf to get into an accident. After being asked to check them. If at all cost avoid these hacks to service your vehicle.

My boyfriend and I recently visited JP Subaru and had a disappointing experience to say the least. Dealt with Alan. Friendly guy, however, I knew the vehicle's payment before I knew it's engine. No conversation, nor interest really, was initiated to learn about vehicle needs/wants, and there was zero walk around done on the car to explain anything about it. Reviewing payments was confusing with little to no breakdown of retail price vs purchase price. I recommend this place is you're looking for zero guidance and follow up in your car purchase journey. If you're looking for a positive, interactive, and informative experience on the other hand, visit elsewhere.

Between my family and my boyfriend, we have 3 Subarus and were looking to get a 4th. Walked in to speak with an older sales woman who seemed to be new. She called a few of the colours in the line up for the Impreza "entry level and cheap" and suggested her own idea of what a good colour would be. This was before we even said anything, but it didn't seem very professional of her to insult colours not knowing your customers' preferences, and then pushing your own opinions onto them randomly. She had no idea what she was talking about and gave out incorrect facts about the vehicle. The receptionist was the worse as she did not acknowledge us or even attempt to get any help. We were only able to get help from the service guy who seemed to be the only know who knew what he was talking about.

Attempts to do a remote transaction and negotiate price on a used vehicle met with an aggressive and insulting sales person. Price was aggressive, but still attempted to negotiate. Second sales person fixed things - unfortunately the delay resulted in the unit selling and I'm back to the drawing board. All good just not impressed with the rude commentary from the first sales person. Maybe could have closed the deal, maybe would have still ended up missing out, but will never know. If you don't agree with customers trying to negotiate prices - state in your ads that NO-Negotiate will be allowed - price is firm. And if your a sales person in this realm be prepared for folks to try and negotiate and never assume we are dumb.

However, I felt pushed into some additional charges (for insurance) that "were strongly recommended by Subaru staff". Only when I cooled off enough to cancel them I realized that Subaru had a referral bonus for signing up clients for that. That did not make me feel comfortable. I just spent almost 30K and you convince me to sign up for a product t that i was not in favour of just because of $300?? I really loved the car though.

I've had a great experience buying a new WRX from this place. As a young buyer, I needed to know and compare all the payments and the trims before I choose the right deal. Gladly I received lots of help from the respectful staff and made up my mind for the best value for my money. However, I would like to suggest this dealership to have lower trims and well as the top trims for each model because I was interested to experience both Sport and Sport-tech. But I do realize that it was the end of 2018 line up and those were the last trims left in the inventory. Overall, I appreciate the great customer service I received from Francis, Freddy and Salina, and their efforts in helping me make decisions. Also, I highly recommend the WRX and the STI for young car enthusiasts as they are extremely fun and reliable.

I am 89 years old and recently have leased a new Subaru Crosstrek from Jim Pattison Subaru. The salesman Jack He was exceptional in all categories. He knew the car well, was able to answer all questions, was respectful, and very patient with my lack of knowledge of the modern safety features of the car. He answered phone calls promptly and kept me informed about the status of the car on it's way from the factory in Japan. It arrived almost 3 months after I ordered it. Because he was to be away on the day I picked up the car Jack had made arrangements for me to meet with another excellent employee, Arthur (whose last name I don't recall). Arthur spent over an hour with me going over the car again and subsequently took me on a test drive. He advised me to make a list of questions after I had driven the car for a week or 2. I did so and 10 days later I presented Jack with my 22 item list of questions which he answered over the course of another hour. I had never leased a car before and met Victoria the "lease lady" who was knowledgeable, respectful, charming, and very patient with my ignorance of the entire procedure. She explained all aspects of the leasing procedure very well. In summary buying this car was the best auto purchase experience I have ever had. It was flawless event.

I recently moved to the North Shore and thought I'd switch dealerships for services on my WRX. I called to speak with the service department to book an appointment for a service last week, twice, on the 25th and 26th, and left messages for a call back both times. It's now June 3 and I have still not heard back. Nobody has returned my call and so I have decided to stick with my existing dealership, even though it means driving quite a bit further for servicing. If this is the sort of response somebody receives when trying to become a customer, I dread to think what it's like when somebody becomes a customer. It's deplorable.

Once we took the car home, within 2 days we discovered that the A/C wasn't working. Without having to make any kind of fuss, the sales department volunteered to pay for the fix, which was done promptly. This was especially appreciated, as the 30-day drive-train warranty wouldn't have ordinarily covered this kind of repair. Although you will likely be paying more for a used car here than you would at a discount lot, the peace of mind that you get is well worth it. Definitely ask for Farid: he was a pleasure to work with, and his honest approach to car sales deserves to be rewarded.

It was a wonderful experience. All the staff we met there were very helpful. When we went to the Northshore Subaru for the first time, we met our salesperson Jack. I did not feel like I was treated well. I was approved for a different unit than the one I put a deposit on and asked by the finance manager through email if I would like the other one instead. The communication was lax, and the sales person did not reach out to see if I wanted to test drive the approved unit. I feel unvalued and think it was a horrible experience. I will likely go with Openroad Subaru in Vancouver if I choose to purchase a Subaru. The distance isn't that far to be treated better. Edit: I get a response after publicly reviewing, but not an actual response from when I sent an email to the GM and Sales manager. Seems like they're just trying to save face.

Victoria was vey genuine, polite, and knowledgeable and was able to work things around with managers and all to ensure my financial and car needs were met and I'm very grateful. I've met more than just several dealers last few months due to my urgency in getting a new car and Victoria was one of only few that never rushed or tried to manipulate me, which is a really hard to find quality in this kind of industry. She'll be available to help, be very patient with you, and provide as much information as needed but because she's too genuine sometimes you might have to verbalize your needs upfront otherwise she may not know or pre-guess your needs or preferences so don't wait to be spoon-fed and be sure to communicate. And if you have already met & talked with dealers from other Subaru locations, I really recommend & hope you talk to Victoria at this location first before you put a deposit anywhere else cause she'll literally run around to come up with a better deal for you. I had Alan Alizadeh (Product Advisor) greet me at the door when I arrived and I got an excellent feeling right away.
