Went in to look at the Tiguan as we were interested in that specific car. The salesperson next to the car looked at us and never approached us. Finally, the sales manager came by and told us all about the R-line which wasn't on the floor so I guess imagination is required. We sat down to get a quote and when I asked what the residual value on a lease would be he told me "why do you care, you're not gonna buy it". This is disrespectful, condescending, and uninformed. There are many reasons a person may take up a lease rather than financing, one of which is flexibility. We promptly left the car dealership, were never offered to see the actual car we were considering nor test drive it and now I'm looking at either a different car or Clarkdale VW as their service over email has been miles ahead of what we got in store at Capilano VW.

Extremely satisfied with Capilano VW. They gave me the highest trade in value as well as gave me a great price on the Golf R I purchased. After purchasing the Golf R I noticed that the windshield had a chip. I contacted Capilano VW and they told me they would replace it next time I was I was in the area. (I am from Kelowna) Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make on back to Vancouver for over a year... I contacted Ali at VW and he told me not to worry about it and they would send me a check to cover the charge of the windshield replacement. Couldn’t be happier with the service!

Few weeks ago the BC insurance company network was down for almost 48 hours and no dealership in BC was able to sale a vehicle. I had a car in my mind and Capilano VW in North Vancouver had it. Knowing that I am about 80 KM away from home With no vehicle to drive home Ali graciously accept to let me drive the courtesy vehicle until the insurance company network is back up and next day he text me to let me know that everything is back to normal and I can go to North Vancouver. I typically hate dealing with service departments at dealerships, but I can't say enough good things about Moe. He is always so helpful, honest and thoughtful. He doesn't just take into consideration the needs of our vehicle but our family too-- loaner cars when we're in a pinch, rides to and from home (and sometimes back again, when I accidentally leave my house key at the dealership!) and even has treats for our dog too! It's hard to believe he could give this level of service to everyone, but somehow he does!

Superb customer service when I bought my Golf Sportswagen. Even a year after buying the car I still get the same treatment. And mechanics/service department are great and honest as well. Since they were busy to schedule me for an oil change, I went to a nearby place to get my oil changed. Long story short, they told me I had to fix a lot of things and quoted me a couple 1,000s. I doubted it and came to Capilano VW to get a quote on the things I was told I needed to fix at that other place. Turns out nothing needed to be fixed (car was still new)... Anyways, I was surprised by their honesty :) They could’ve easily matched the price and fixed things that didn’t need to be fixed... Highly recommended!

Rude customer service. I called and left two messages with the service desk, but never got a call back. When I explained this to the receptionist, she said there was nothing she could do about it. Finally, in frustration I just showed up and was ignored by everyone. I was also disappointed to see that the receptionist was only eight feet away from the service counter and could have easily talked to them from where she was sitting. I wouldn't have anything to do with these guys if I had a choice.

My elderly parents brought their Tiguan into Capilano VW because of a coolant leak. The vehicle was undriveable as soon as it entered the dealership lot. I became involved because my father suffers from dementia and has impaired judgement and cognitive function. Jake in service has been exceptional in every way, walking me through the diagnostics and the repairs that were required to be done. He showed empathy and concern throughout the process and called me whenever there was an update. I felt that he had my back and trusted that he would take care of the situation. We have purchased a new VW Taos from Capilano. Adam Di Lullo was the Salesperson I dealt with, highly professional and transparent. I had gone to another manufacturer and although a good experience whilst in the dealership there was no follow up as requested with finance/lease numbers. Adam always followed up as promised, was patient and never "pushy". It was great to feel like a valued customer. They offered a very fair trade in price for my vehicle which made the whole process even simpler. I inquired at 6 different VW dealerships in and around the lower mainland but by far Adam and the Capilano team were the best. Recommended. A few days in with the car and we are very happy with our choice as well! Check it our for a test drive!

My husband and I have been coming here for 2 years to service our Tiguan. There has been a problem literally every time with the servicing. They charge you for things they dont do and then set up an appointment for you to come back when you complain. It's always 4 hours wait time to do anything, even something simple as they missed a fluid last time, so they want us to come back in for another 4 hours. I love my VW, but I HATE this dealership and will never be dealing with them again.

Moe was great in getting me and my car back on the road quickly after my son had a minor run-in with a parked car in the recent snow/ice. We're a one-car family so down-time was a real issue for us. And the repairs cost less than I expected. (How often does that happen?!) The guys who wash the cars even removed all the black marks the parked car's tire made along the side of my car! The car is as good as new. Very impressed with Moe and the service department here.

5.0 star rating 7/17/2019 I had not bought a new car in over 20 years. I was so nervous about going to a dealership my friend's husband, James offered to help me. James went to Capilano and picked a salesman, RJ Miyagawa who helped James find exactly what I wanted, a 2016 VW Golf with 33,000 kilometers. I joined James and RJ the next day to see the car. RJ was respectful, friendly, knowledgeable and patient with me as I had questions re all the new electronics. We went for a test ride. RJ gave super directions as to how to handle the car. I bought the car. Since then I have called RJ a couple of times with questions. He got back to me immediately. He has a great sense of humor as well. Julia, the finance manager was also professional and helpful. I am loving my new 'silver cloud' and whole heartedly recommend RJ. If you want to have your time wasted and be RIPPED off go to Capilano Volkswagen. I took it down to the service dept when i noticed that the seatbelt attachment was not bolted in where it was supposed to be when i went to install my nephew's booster seat. It would've been a simple matter of unscrewing, attaching and reattaching a bolt with a special socket wrench that only a mechanic would have. (Why it was unbolted is a mystery...previous servicing neglect?) But when I got there the guy wanted to start an entire service write up for a two minute job and told me i'd be charged for labour. After consulting my husband and telling them to just do it anyway because i had three kids at home waiting to go to Scienceworld he then told me to come back at 1pm (it was 12:20) because his mechanic was going to go on lunch at 12:30 and couldn't start the work till then. The time to look at it and fix it would have been less than 10 mins! Very grudgingly I returned at 1 and after they looked at it told me i also needed to fix another part that was totally unrelated to the bolt. Not wanting to compromise my kid's safety i told them to do it but then they took 45 mins supposedly installing it and in the end they gave up saying they had to order a different part. When i asked if they fixed the bolt he said yes but then handed me a bill for $33 for labour to basically unscrew, attach and retighten ONE BOLT. Apparently this is a job that takes 0.2 hours of labour!!!! When i left it was 2;30, 2.5 hours after starting this whole debacle. On the flipside i took my Touareg to a Harbourview VW dealer in Nanaimo while on a road trip to replace a busted brake light and they had me in and out in less than 30 mins with the kids and all our bags still in the car. There's simply no excuse for such shameful, lazy customer service.

On every occasion, they have communication issues, waste your time, act like they are doing you a huge favor, and charge obscene amounts for routine service. $170 for an oil change - what a joke. I sold my VW Tiguan over the past weekend. I called Capilano VW to get my winter tires for the new owners. They said tires available on Weds, which is 4 days later, but ok. I visited the parts desk Tues to tell them the name of the purchaser picking up the tires. He informed me that the tires are there. The purchaser drove from Chilliwack to pick up the tires, but arrived after the parts desk was closed, so no tires. I spoke with the Parts Mgr this morning. Very UNHELPFUL. I asked if the tires could be transported to Langley, half way. He said he didn't have the capacity to assist. I said a guy, the tires and a car for 90 minutes. He was not at all interested in discussing a compromise solution. The parts guy yesterday didn't make any comment about when the tires are available for pick up, if he had, I would have passed that information onto the purchaser. This is not my first bad experience with Capilano VW. Loved my VW. Capilano VW, not so much.

My coworker had his new lease break down 6 times so far in 1 year. 6 times! I've sat beside this man for the last year as he's continually late for work because it suddenly breaks down right in the middle of the road. They fix it, but it keeps breaking down and say everything's fine. This could be an isolated experience and it could be Volkwagen Canada's fault, but it makes me feel very nervous about getting a vehicle there.

If I could rate this dealership zero stars, I would. The general sales manager makes you feel stupid for asking questions and raising concerns, his replies are unemotional and he lacks any sense of customer care. It's as if you can see it in his eyes is that all he cares about is the money his sales team is making, and once you've made a purchase, you're no longer his problem. I bought my car from Capilano VW in November 2015, but recently it had engine issues so I took it to a different dealership's service depart since Capilano wouldn't see me right away (even though my 2016 Golf R has under 7,000km). I requested more information regarding details of work done on my car and instead of telling me he'd try to get the other dealership to contact me, or that his service department will call the other service department and relay the information over, he said there's nothing he can do because it's out of his dealership. ZERO attempts were made to resolve my issues, but instead he chose to point out all the reasons that he doesn't want to and shouldn't have to contact the other dealership to answer my questions for me. All he was concerned with was "calming me down" and explaining that there's nothing he can do. Don't buy a vehicle from Capilano VW if you expect any help resolving issues that happen post-purchase. They are a terrible representation of the VW Group.

I had two newish cars, but a serious medical disability basically prevented me driving either one of them any distance. Other dealers weren’t prepared to help. I have a 2020 4Runner cross-sport Atlas with 8k km on it. I was in traffic when all of a sudden my rear window shattered, or exploded, for absolutely no reason. The passengers in the back seat were scared stiff. The defroster was not on and I was not raising or lowering the window at the time. I have heard every explanation, most of them blaming the defroster which was not on because the weather wasn't that cold. I was in the left lane, and there was no lawn mowing or anything going on. It is totally unexplainable. Fortunately, I was close to my dealership in North Vancouver. I went there right away and explained to them but they preferred not to believe me. I had some research on Google and I see it's not the first time such a thing happens to Volkswagen cars. After one week today, they sent me a $700 invoice which is funny because I lease my car in August 2020 and I have a warranty. I'm so upset about their customer service and I will never recommend my friends buy a car from them. Just bought a 2019 Jetta and Adam really made the experiance as easy as 1, 2, 3. I called in got in touch with Adam he answered every question through text, replied almost instantly and when he wasn’t on his shift to be there he organized me to speak with one of the general managers Shaun who is also very friendly, professional and cuts straight to the chase without a hidden agenda. When buying a vehicle it’s not just the car itself but the experience of buying one. I strongly recommend people to come here if you are looking to purchase a VW. Fun fact: Day I went to look for a VW I didn’t go to this dealership first, I went to one in maple ridge and the staff there told me the car I wanted didn’t come with any features I wanted. Which then Adam the sales representative at capilano VW had already offered me the Highest model Jetta for under the payments I seeked while maple ridge was offering me 2 trim level lower for a Jetta that was higher in payments. Going to the capilano dealer gave me a sense of relief that the dealer and it’s employees knew the product they are pushing but maple ridge VW was like they picked people off the street and said go sell this without any information on the product. Adam and Shaun thank you once again you set a record for how smooth and efficient it is for me to come buy a car that was under my budget but had everything I required it to have.

I regret having used my extended warranty with them... always the bare minimum done, never a borrowed car and even thought I used over $8000 in extended warranty on my Touareg with them... A problem on my heater I mentioned a couple times never got solved and when a light of my Airbag popped up and I asked if they could clear it up I was told I had to pay half an hour labour.... It didn't matter how much business I done there and that I always spoke with the same service guy (James) ... not even tried to talk to his manager... I told him he lost a customer and it was like it didn't matter to him. I should had brought my business somewhere else to begin with. Bare minimum service... Always polite but never goes out of their way to do an extra and make the customer happy.

Today, I picked up my new 2019 Jetta and once again: the salesman, service team, finance team, and insurance broker were all excellent. I had no pressure to 'come into the office' to receive a fair quote; in fact, I asked my salesman to email me their quote as I live in Squamish and it was snowing hard that day. I was able to to communicate via: calls, text, and email to receive pricing and eventual delivery of the exact car I wanted without even leaving my living room. RJ was a great salesman and answered all questions with expedience and honesty (even on his days off work). Justin in service has always been exceptionally professional and personable to me over 13 years now. After our initial conversation, I told him we were going to hold off as we had a lot going on -- a couple weeks later, Ali checked in with me and at that point we were ready to move forward with our purchase. What a disappointment. Had an under warranty call back and service A. On phone was told 3 hours max, there will be no courtesy car due to covid, understandable. Upon arrival was told 4 hours, then was called and told they are washing it and it be ready in 10 minutes. 50 minutes later, and still nothing. My wife and I recently bought a 2020 4Runner cross-sport Atlas, but through no fault of our own, in traffic all of a sudden my rear window shattered, or exploded, for absolutely no reason. We’ve read reviews that suggest it is as a result of the heater’s malfunctioning. We went to Capilano Volkswagen in North Vancouver right away and explained to them but they preferred not to believe us. They blamed the driver for the incident and were generally economical with the truth. They asked us to lie to ICBC about the incident to pay less ($200). However, we preferred not to do so and paid $760 instead. What really astounded me is that after my wife left a negative review on Google, they contacted us threatening that they would refuse services to us altogether unless we removed the review. Bear in mind that this is a brand new car we have just bought from them and they have the obligation to provide after-sale services. This is absolutely outrageous. Their attitude was utterly irresponsible and insulting. I really wish we could return this faulty vehicle, but I can only advise potential buyers against doing business with Capilano Volkswagen in North Vancouver. In the end, if we receive threatening calls again from them, we will have to disclose their names too.

On my search for the right GTI, I was in touch with many VW dealerships in the lower mainland and although there were many helpful salespeople - Steve was one of those that provided the perfect balance of ‘being in touch’ and yet always responded quickly if I had a question or enquiry, at no point did I feel like I was being sold to - simply that he was hoping he could find the right car for me (which I’m happy to say he did). In addition, Justin Izatt and the service team have been great when dealing with an initial warranty repair, and everyone else from finance to the courtesy shuttle drivers have been great to deal with. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy again from Capilano VW.

Thank you Capilano Volkswagen. At times like this I wish Google had a 6 star rating. This past Thursday morning while in Vancouver, I managed to snap off the driver-side windshield wiper of our VW Golf. Home is in Whistler and with rain and snow in the forecast, not having a working windshield wiper for the drive up the Sea to Sky Highway was not an option. We stopped in at Capilano when they opened at 8:30 to see if they could replace the wiper arm. Moe, Justin and the service department were sympathetic but a replacement arm was not in stock and would only be available the next day. This meant we either stayed another 24 hours in Vancouver or rent a car for 24 hours and come back the following day to pick up our car. Neither were great options. This is where the level of service that Capilano offers goes from good to great. Moe said "leave it with us and come back in an hour". An hour later and the arm had been replaced. I'm not sure where they found a replacement arm but I really appreciate the staff "thinking outside of the box" and getting us on our way. While this service was above and beyond, it really exemplifies the level of service that Cap. Volkswagen offers. Thank you Moe and all the staff at Capilano Volkswagen; excellent service!

My experience at Capilano VW has been extremely poor. I'm posting on behalf of my bf. They were unprofessional, belittling and time wasters. I recently went into their facility to test drive one of their used vehicles. I provided all of my information and even asked if I can put in an initial offer. I was told to wait a couple of days so that the sales associate can communicate with the manager. I understood and kept SMS throughout the week with various offers back and forth. We ended with a number that was in the middle. I responded that seems fair and that I would like to make an appointment a couple days later so that my GF can see and test drive the car before siting down for a deal. (We both had to take time off from our jobs to make it to North Vancouver). The communication was throughout the week and even received a txt to speak with the manager as we were walking into the showroom for our appointment since he was not available that day. As we were greeted by the manger Bobby Ezharie (Who wouldn't even give me his card- had to find the last name online). We were told that the car that I was interested in was already sold. I asked him that if he was sure since I have been messaging his associates throughout the week and even the day of the appointment. (Somewhat shocking) The manager was unapologetic towards the situation and only escalated it by spilling legal verbiage of refundable deposits and that communication via txt or phone is not law binding where only in-person first come first serve is the only way to do communication for used vehicles. He (Bobby) was also hostile towards my GF at times and felt deflective. I even looked at the other sales associates to try to calm the manager down since my GF wasn't even involve with this situation and that he should be really communicating with me if he wanted to be hostile. It was an extremely weird and awkward situation to have the customer be more calm than the sales person. I wanted to point out that at this point of time I wasn't even upset about the car, I know you can not conjure up another used vehicle out of thin air and I was more upset at the lack of communication, the feeling of deceit and the wasting of my valuable time. Honestly I just felt a bit jerked around. At this point standing in the middle of the showroom, all I wanted was a sincere apology and maybe a heads up if a similar vehicle was to show up on their lot again. Both of which I did not received from the manager but another sales associate did provide his card and was apologetic. Based on the reaction of the manager, I do feel that he “or his team” had something to hide and that there was some sort of inside awareness to their “regular” customers. I guess that what you get when there is a car that was too good for its price. (Car's price was recently lowered) I just wanted to share my experience at this dealership with everyone and heck congratulation to the person who bought the used car that I saw, it is a good find. You might want to make sure that check engine light warning was taken care of before you picked up the car. (Just a heads up) It is also funny that as I am typing this review up the day after this experience I did not get a txt or message from the original sales associate apologizing to this situation. Very poor customer service. This dealer added on several services to my car without approving them through me first and racked up over 350 dollars in labour fees for a simple oil change (bill total was $800). When I spoke to the service manager to tell him my experience, he argued with me and said that he didn't believe me that I was not informed about the extra charges before they were done, his tone was very rude and condescending, didn't care to apologize for the lack of communication or extravagant bill that I received. Terrible first time experience with these people and will definitely never be going back to them. They even replaced my license plate holder with a "Capilano VW" one for some free advertising without my permission, which I have obviously removed. Reply: Again, you are denying that you did not fully inform me of these charges. I am your customer telling you that I was not asked if it was ok to perform the brake or transmission flush, both of which added a significant amount of money to my bill. I would have otherwise been ok with the charges if when I provided feedback that these were not communicated you accepted the feedback and spoke to me in a professional manner. But instead, you continue to argue with your customer and refuse to accept that your service department made a mistake. Either way, these are not qualities in a business that I am looking for and thought that others would like to know my experience.

I bought my 2017 eGolf from Shaun at this dealership in an unusual walk off the street fluke! I knew these cars were knocking it out of the park and that the waitlist was > 1yr. I am not a millennial, but still not that patient. Luckily, I walked in one day when a Whistler native had just returned her lightly used one (it's not an ideal car if you're commuting between Whistler and Vancouver regularly given the elevation change). Shaun was great to deal with and that same night I got clearance. I work close by so visit the dealership regularly (mostly to mooch off their turbo charger) and have gotten top notch treatment and follow up from everyone especially Shaun, Paco, Justin and Lars. About the car: The first question everybody asks is, "What's the range?" I use mine to commute regularly to and from Abbotsford and find I can make it there and back, driving 5-10km above the speed limit, with about 30% battery to spare. Driving my daughter from Edgemont to Rutledge the other day I did a test and found I was able to regenerate as much power on the downhill as I consumed on the drive back! Around the city, the conscientious driver can attain close to net zero driving. Moving from an Audi S4 to the eGolf may not be "sexy" in alot of peoples eyes, but the $85 I save/week in gas certainly keeps me smiling. The car is super nimble and I have a theory that the eGolf would take the S4 off the line and probably hold the lead for about 40m after which the S4 horsepower would crush it. I went twice in one month to look at purchasing a WV Golf and to do test drive. Tests drive of the few vehicles went well but unfortunately I had the same person/sales person at the dealership at WV Capilano North Vancouver. The sale person did not have the basic answers of few basic questions ( is the vehicle fwd or aft traction? for example) and could not give a .... and was not helpful at all. I am really really disappointed by the whole experience and will not plan to return to WV Capilano North Van , but I will be more than happy to go to Burnaby or Vancouver (on Main st) next week instead. One sale person like that can ruin the entire experience and prevent me or anyone to go back there in a near future.

Expect really bad service and higher then regular prices on everything. If you happen to break down in their parking lot just tow the car elsewhere, trust me you will still be ahead. They also refused to do a recall on my gti until I waited and booked it for service at which point they were to see if they were able to do the fix... They had to order parts or they just didn't feel like doing it.... Go to the poco VW dealer.

My car has recently been totalled and I have a cheque from Optiom for several thousand dollars, and the selling dealer has released me so I can shop wherever I like. I'm without a car, in a rental for a limited time and have a pretty good idea of what I want after looking online. I have the desire, ability and need to make a purchase, in other words. I visited Cap VW last week because they're my nearest VW dealer and they had the only manual transmission example of the model and package I'm interested in in the entire city. Great! I made a mistake with their hours and showed up about 15 minutes before they closed, thinking they were open an hour later. I had some trim specific questions and wanted to arrange a test drive for the next few days, and just happened to be passing by so figured I'd made a quick stop rather than trying to call in and make an appointment, waiting on hold, etc... When I parked and began to walk to the front door, I heard the lock and someone hurried away and disappeared around the pony wall. I checked my phone and it was still ten minutes before they closed. I went back to my car and left, and as I passed by on Marine I saw that there was at least four people there at their desks. They simply decided I wasn't worthy of their time. Yes, they had locked the doors early in my face and proceeded to hide from me, when they could have simply apologised, said they were closing, and made a future appointment - like professionals. Needless to say I will never be back for sales or service and they have lost all my future business with their lame antics. I'm really disappointed with the lack of customer care shown by staff in a customer service industry. There's plenty of Volkswagen dealerships I can choose to take my business to. I remember when Cap VW was a family run North Shore business that would go out of their way to help customers, and they were truly stellar. What happened?

DO NOT BUY YOUR VOLKSWAGEN FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. I purchased a "certified pre-owned" 2017 Golf from these guys a few months ago. Within a week I was getting service warnings from the car and there were several pieces of equipment missing (Wheel lock nut, spare tire changing tools etc). The service department could not care less about customer experience if they tried and there was no effort made to fix the car or accomodate me whatsoever. They denied me a courtesy vehicle and were unwilling to make it right, even though the car was nearly new and only in my possession for two weeks.

The service writer, Moe, and the technician who worked with me were knowledgeable, friendly and fair. Another VW dealership in the lower mainland tried to scare me into doing extensive work on my car that would have coasted thousands of dollars. I got a second opinion from Capilano VW and they told me that most of the work the other dealership and described as being "urgent" was not even necessary. All parts and service here are at a high premium compared to other vw dealers. They refused to do a recall on my non tdi golf unless I was booking it in for other service, they made it seem like a hassle for them to do the recall. Maybe a 3 way call with transport Canada or vw of Canada would change their mind but why should I go that far? Even if your car dies in their parking lot just tow it somewhere else this will save you both a headache and $$.

Bought my car from here. A 2009 GTI with 73,000 KMs. Car was a Certified pre owned, and such it came with a 2 year, 40,000km "bumper to bumper" warranty. 7 months after buying the car I had my check engine light come on, so I take it to capilano VW and the service guys tell me I have to pay $1000 to clean the carbon build up out of the intake manifold. Told me theres no way to cover it under the warranty. Absolutely ridiculous. I took it to clarkdale VW to get a second opinion, and after talking to the service guys there, they said a) $1000 is WAY to high a price for the job they wanted to do, and b) its likely another issue in the car such as a bad coilpack or injector (both covered under CPO warranty). Its apparent to me that capilano just wanted to scam me for $1000 bucks for something that isn't even the root cause of my check engine light coming on. I will never go back to Capilano because how can I trust them after this? Not to mention every time I tried to get information relating to the car out of the service advisors about WHY I needed this carbon clean done, they had the audacity to blame it on me putting "bad fuel" into the car. Absolute joke seeing how I have only owned the car for 10,000KM and put 91 or 94 Octane Chevron fuel in it. Don't bring your car to Capilano VW service, you will get ripped off.

The most expensive stealership in town. People, cars dont cost the same everywhere. Do your homework and try at least two dealers. This one however has the worse prices. On tbe service they will put different oil in your car. Just went now to ask about the oil of mybwifes brand new Tiguan. The guy did not even know about 508.00 spec even existed and tgey have been sellinbg the car and putting the old 502.00 in it. Unbelievable!

I have spent thousands on maintenance/repairs and have followed the maintenance schedule religiously at Capilano VW. I’m always treated like I’m lying when I tell them about another problem with my car. The staff BLAME ME for stuff that goes wrong with my car and they say they have “never heard of these problems” when you tell them about it. It’s always an Us vs. Them mentality there. I was warned about how bad these cars are and took a chance. Consumer reports rates most, if not all VW’s, as far below average reliability (2011 Jetta I have only got 1/5 stars for reliability). Too many problems to count! These cars are lemons, period. The cars aren't even made in Germany. The golfwagon, jetta, golf, beetle and Tiguan are all made in Mexico. Don't trust "German engineering." Consumer Reports rated the 2011 Jetta as 1/5 starts for reliability. Read consumer reports, the most trusted name in car reliability and reviews.

I would like to share a very negative experience that I had with Capilano VW's service department. This happened a couple years ago, and I have since sold the car (a 2008 Jetta); however this story deserves telling. I brought my Jetta into Capilano VW's service department, complaining of a shudder in the steering wheel. They (reportedly) inspected the car and told me that both of my front rims were severely dented/bent in corresponding spots. They could not explain how this might have happened. They quoted me something like $1300 for two new rims. I declined, and went for a second opinion at my local wheel/tire shop. The mechanic there allowed me to watch as he pulled the tires/rims off the car to inspect. Within 10 seconds (no exaggeration) he showed me that the tread of one of the tires had separated around the entire tire. The other tire was perfectly fine. Further, both rims were in mint condition. I replaced the tire, and the shudder was gone. This is important because it means that Capilano VW blatantly lied about the cause of the problem, did not notice (or chose not to tell me about) the damaged tire, and sent me home with a vehicle whose tire was coming apart. This is dishonest and dangerous service, and I would not recommend their service department.

I’ve purchased two cars from Capilano VW. The sales staff will lie directly to your face and smile with patent insincerity. As an example of their prolific mendacity, our salesman, Steve, ensured the deal included monster mats and a trunk liner. The mats and liner were included with our previous Golf wagon and so I wanted the same for my new car. When I picked up the car, the mats were present, but no liner. I went back and said I wanted the CarGo trunk liner as was agreed on- Steve said it wasn’t part of the deal. I demanded a liner and he gave me a cheap plastic liner and said they don’t make the heavy duty liner anymore. I found the CarGo liner online via VW parts and contacted a dealer on the East Coast (Georgetown VW). Tos Voelkner responded by saying his computer showed 41 available in the Vancouver warehouse. I’ll be purchasing one from a different VW parts dealer. The service department is just as bad and also extremely incompetent. They didn’t fix my car for a fully covered warranty issue and even suggested I may have to pay. I’ve booked an appointment at another dealership. After this second experience at Capilano VW, I will be taking my cars to be serviced at another dealership. Update: Purchased a new Cargo trunk liner from a different dealership after they fixed my car within 5 minutes of arriving. I’ll be sticking with them for my servicing of both Golfs going forward. Feb 24, 2019- Steve went above and beyond?! Really?!? There were 3 people directly present during the deal- Steve, my wife, and myself. So how would you know?!? It hasn’t escaped my attention that you didn’t push back about my claim of the incompetent service department. Worst experience I have ever had.

My wife and I were in Vancouver for a weekend trip visiting from Kelowna. We were set to return home on Sunday, September 13th when our check engine light came on our 2015 Tiguan. We checked everything we could, gas cap, oil and coolant levels and it was nothing obvious. Once the EPC light came on we realized we'd need to get it looked at before we could return home through the mountains. With it being Sunday we did not expect to find a VW dealership open but we discovered that Capilano VW was open 12-5pm. We drove there knowing that it would probably have to stay overnight and get looked at Monday morning. Upon our arrival at Capilano VW, we were pleasantly greeted by Hope and she offered exceptional friendly service and helped ease our mind that our car would be looked after the next day. As we explained that we'd need to move our luggage out of our Tiguan and then call a cab so that we could check back in to our hotel, General Sales Manager Garry Speranza overheard us talking to Hope and was quick to offer us a courtesy/loaner car. This offer was over and above and completely unexpected. The next day our car was looked after by the service team and turned out to be the intake manifold which was covered by warranty! Back home in Kelowna we take our Tiguan to Turner VW and we always receive excellent service, we can now add the Team at Capilano VW in Vancouver as another example of the personal and friendly service VW consistently provides. The overall service at this dealership could be a lot better. Your service experience usually starts off bad either on the phone or in person by being greeted by their receptionist who has the worst customer service skills. She is impatient and makes clients or callers feel like they are waisting her time. If you ever need to speak to someone working at the service counter, you can always expect to see 5 staff members standing behind the desk, shooting the bull and drinking coffee and can guarantee not one of them will look up and make eye contact with you or ask how they can be or service.

I just called them and the person on the phone introduced himself as Bobby. He just asked me some questions and later he provide me with the VW Tiguan . He explained the cars options and then he invited us to go see him and the Tiguan in the dealership after test drive Bobby gave us time to think about it. We made an arrangement with him . When we went there to take our car my wife and Kids change their mind and asked for the car in showroom. they switch the cars and we got a fantastic Tiguan with light interior . The employees of this dealership should be ashamed on themselves for the way they treat people; especially females shopping/looking for maintenance on their own. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly by individuals in any form of customer service. I brought my 2019 Jetta in due to a strong burnt rubber smell. I’ve driven and owned manual transmission vehicles long enough to know that something was wrong with my clutch. Upon arrival at the dealership, I was struck by comments from two individuals regarding the fact that I am a female driving a manual transmission vehicle. Needless to say they profiled me and had already made up their minds that whatever was wrong with the car was my fault before I had even left the dealership. I called and asked to speak with the service manager and was denied that opportunity and told to come in Monday-Friday between 7:30am and 2:30pm to speak with him. I arrived at 7:45am and asked to speak with the service manager and was told he was very busy and wouldn’t be able to see me for a while. I then asked to have Volkswagen Canada brought into the decision making of my car and to be CC’d on the email to which I received a snarky snap back of “there’s not point, they aren’t going to help you and you can’t be CC’d on the email because you can’t be privy to company information.” I should add I owned a Volkswagen Jetta for 7 years prior to purchasing my new Jetta. Capilano also knows this as they interrogated me about my driving record and ability for an extended period of time when I brought my car in. Moral of the story, whatever you do, DO NOT bring your vehicle in or purchase a vehicle from this dealership!!!!!!!! They have succeeded in making a life long Volkswagen hater out of me and I will continue to tell my story to anyone and everyone who inquires.

I have nothing but amazing things to say! We stopped in last week just to browse and play with the idea of trading our truck in for something smaller. We ended up staying for almost 2 hours talking and discussing the car with RJ who was a huge help and the nicest person. Save your self a lot of time, money and peace of mind and take your car somewhere else for the services. They have the most disrespectful, unprofessional and rude sales people I have ever encountered. I have given them three chances in this past two years and every time I got nothing other than being disappointed. First of all, they charge triple than what it should be. You would expect to at least get a good customer service when you are paying this much to them, but no, they absolutely have no idea on how to treat and talk to people. Every time I take my car for service there, they have no shuttle to give me a ride. They also wont communicate that earlier to you, so you could plan for another way to get a ride back home. Once I told them well you should have let me know sooner so I would have planned my day before I came here, and he took two dollars out of his pocket and told me take this for the bus ride... Other companies also give the car a good wash both interior and exterior but they dont even do that and give your car back as dirty as it was. So overall, you are paying 300$-600$ for an overpriced, mediocre service, and you have to tolerate their attitude with no ride back home.

I had a car which was under 3 years lease term and after 3 years i decided to finance it. the day i leased that car they told me something that was totally different than what i've been told when i signed to finance it. the interest charge was 6 times higher and the documentation fees which they never mention till the end when you need to sign and close the deal. i had not choice to accept their deal and end up paying much more for monthly payment! Do not go to this location!
