VW and this dealer have let me down a few times. Most recently, and finally, they refused to fix my 2012 GTI under warranty, which cost me over $1,100, and it was there for 13 days. A retainer clip was "out of place" in the clutch assembly, and instead of fixing it they insisted it needed a clutch and release bearing - although neither of those things were worn out. This repair wasn't covered by the warranty because the clutch is a wear item - even though the clutch wasn't worn out. They are hiding behind the fact that the clip was on the clutch shaft - I'm sure this is not in the spirit of the clutch being non-warrantable. Volkswagen and the dealer are not at all interested in customer service. I called VW Canada 9 times between June 3 and June 13, and they said there is nothing they can do - which is BS. They can do whatever they want - they just don't want to help. Buy a Honda, buy a Hyundai. Buy anything else. The VWs are fun to drive, but the service issues and lack of care from the manufacturer just aren't worth it.

Was having an engine light issue and booked a visit. They were ready for me when I got there, took the time to review the issues and did a simple reset. Took it out for a spin and all ok. Next car will be a VW...

Love our VW and have enjoyed very much both purchases made at Stackelberg. Herb is always great to deal with and is as honest and upfront as you'll ever meet. We've heard some who have had bad experiences at the service desk but we have only ever been treated well. Will definitely be going back to Autohaus Stackelberg for our next VW.

For the most part they do what they should although the hours of operation are not customer friendly. 7-4 would even be better. I'd like to see them open at least once a week from 10-7 and have staggered lunches as not to effect operations between 12-1. Would of liked to be present for a test drive when my car is acting up as to point out the malfunction, since I already had a problem where the "couldn't feel what I was referring to" when I took it in for shaking violently.

I have to be honest here. Arrived on time for my 9am appointment with a very busy day planned. I was very disappointed to see my car sit there until 9:55 before going in the shop. ???? When I mentioned it to the owner he offered no explanation or apology; it appeared as though that was normal to him. When I returned at 12:10 I was told to come back after 1pm as they were having a pizza lunch. Only after I mentioned the long delay earlier did they drive my car out, which was ready, and I payed my bill. I guess I was expected to sit there and watch their pizza party for an hour instead of inconveniencing them for 5 minutes? The owner seemed annoyed and left the impression that he did not value my time. At the end of the day, isn't that all we have in life? ????

I have driven diesel VW's for over 25 years. Stackleberg VW is the best experience I have ever had with a VW dealership and VW Service Department. No matter where I have lived I always try to get my VW serviced in North Bay. I trust Geoff's experience and knowledge. He answers all my questions and I feel I am respected. I like that I can actually talk to someone about my car and what is working, what doesn't and why- whether it was my 1986 or 2009.

Its sad when the only people who write reviews are the ones with a less then perfect experience. I'm writing because once again VW has stepped up to the plate again. I was up in North Bay this past weekend and my car would run for a minute and stall. I had it towed using VW roadside Assistance to Stackelberg VW. As it was Family Day they were closed. I got in a family car and drove back down south. The next day I called at 7:45 in the morning and to my surprise The service manager Jeff Mowatt was already in and took my call. I told him about my car on the lot. He said no worries we will look at it. I got a call back later that afternoon and Jeff explained to me that the car was fine and the diagnostics showed a fuel issue. Due to the cold the southern Ontario Diesel gelled and wouldn't flow well enough to feed the engine. Now that it was warm it was fine. Now that there was nothing wrong and the car was in the shop anyway I got Jeff to install a block heater. Jeff educated me on the difference between Northern Diesel and Southern Diesel. I'm now on my way up to North Bay to collect my car. Thank You Stackleberg.

Couple of complaints, the cars are normally not well taken care of, what i mean by that is not the components but when you show up the car is dirty etc. It is hard to get someone to help you unless you go search for someone. All in all after i got a hold of someone they were extremely helpfull and answered all my questions and then some. Rreally considering buying a car from them.

Well i am sad to see that others have had poor experiences with this dealership as i can only say wonderful things about them. It starts with Herb and the sales team which I was treated very well. I am driving my 3rd VW and all the vehicle maintenance has been completed by Geoff and his team. I recommend Autohaus Stackelberg in North Bay to everyone that is in the market for a great vehicle and wonderful service.

No courtesy car for warranty work provided and it took 5 days to get my car in, even though it's not drivable at the moment and I'm on foot. Cost of oil change is $60 more than the dealership in my town. I won't buy another car from this dealership, it's all too inconvenient. It's too bad, because I love the car, but the service is horrible.

I was extremely pleased with the service at Autohaus Stackelberg. They did a major repair under a warranty program and repaired a couple more I didn't even know about. Then they did another minor repair I asked about at no charge. Geoff and co are very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. My first experience there, but not my last.

Had trouble starting our 2004 Rialta motorhome and unfortunately got towed to this VW place. Bottom line is my main power cable connection to the starter motor was corroded and not making enough electrical connection to start the motor, maybe the nut got loose? Not knowing any better, I allowed them to put in a cheap Chinese starter and paid them over $500 USD to swap out a starter... Fortunately I paid them the core charge for the (otherwise excellent) VW starter and when I returned home, I brought it to a local motor repair place and after about 20 minutes, the owner said this starter was in EXCELLENT condition (it only had about 30K miles on it at the time), he basically cleaned the starter, put it back together and wire brushed the contact post and said it was fine... Shortly after that, I swapped out the cheap Chinese one and put the OE VW starter back in and it's now at 140K miles and working FINE. I have kept the Chinese one as a backup, but it's not one I can rely on...just an emergency backup. These "experts" should have checked that connection FIRST to see if the nut was loose and how much corrosion was on the post BEFORE simply deciding to soak me for $500 and putting in a much inferior part...but THEY JUST KNEW WE WERE AWAY FROM HOME AND NEEDED IT FIXED QUICKLY, SO THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF US. I complained to the company a few times after I learned of what they did, but never got any response, and since they're in North Bay, Ontario, they know it's not worth it to me to try to pursue getting my money back...but I can now warn others about their shoddy business practices so hopefully people will read this before deciding to go to these CROOKS!!! I would have given them ZERO or even NEGATIVE stars if possible...

Just picked up my new Tiguan at Autohaus Stackellberg, and I want to thank Herb Stackelberg and his staff, especially Troy Millar for all their help and support as I traded in my 2011 Jetta tdi. have to say I'm in love with the Tiguan and once I figure out all the bells and whistles, I can't wait to drive it. Cheers to all!
