Purchased a Crossover at this facility (Import Brand) as well as a Lubrico Extended Warranty. When purchasing the warranty product, adequate coverage was requested to ensure any subsequent issues which may arise would be covered. A short time after ownership, the vehicle kept running out of oil, upon taking the vehicle to a Lubrico authorized garage, they advised the engine has been on it's way out for quite some time and was at a point whereas it required replacement. A used engine was estimated at approximately $6,000.00 plus HST. Lubrico approved the repair, however the policy purchased did not adequately cover the cost (capped out at $3,000.00).
No blame on the dealership for the cap amount, it is a consumer obligation to investigate and ensure adequate coverage meets vehicle repair costs (warranty coverage acknowledged for educational purposes). This dealer fulfills their own (in-house) Motor Vehicle Inspections; they may or may not have picked up on the engine issue, however the customer service and interpersonal relations from the staff is below average (lack thereof). Aside from the engine, more immediate post purchase issues arisen and the representative(s) did not rush out of their way to provide assistance. They made one feel as it the consumer was inconveniencing them. They assured the vehicle would be fully detailed on day of delivery, vehicle was still dirty and salesperson advised the seats may be wet from shampooing (dry and dirty). Whilst they do inventory a diverse selection of vehicles, an independent motor vehicle inspection at a trusted garage, would definitely ensure and maximize consumer protection.
