I was skeptical at first since it's a car dealership but I don't hesitate in saying my experience with Saint John Hyundai was wonderful. We ended up leasing a Hyundai Elantra and haven't had any issues. The staff is well trained and even though their job is to sell cars they don't seem to use aggressive sales tactics to push people into a sale. Well worth the stop if you're looking at purchasing a car.

Problem after problem with the Hyundai Tuscon 2015 I got less then a year ago. Terrible mechanic work. Great sales team. Buyer beware. Sold safetied, independent mechanic verified that there were problems consistent with a small crash that should have made it fail safety. Motor blown after 100 000km (25 000 after purchased) At first the dealer said it was past warranty then when confronted with our knowledge of the Theta 2.0L motor recall issue (over 1million vehicles recalled) they replaced the motor with a smaller one. now the vehicle struggles with power. Note: Hyundai is still selling cars with the same motor. Car was sold as and branded as AWD. in fact it's AWD on demand and AWD only kicks in after the car is out of control in winter driving. The car drives poorly in 2wd and AWD lock only works under 40km/hr. Service visits are frustrating and not once has every issue been fixed. Our latest 175$ visit resulted in us getting a yellow safetied ticket yet none of the issues that we brought it in for were fixed. It still pulls to the right, is leaking at the oil sending unit and the broken heated seat is still broken. I asked for the seat cushions to get cleaned. They did not do that. Don't buy a Hyundai in St John.

I'm hot and cold on this. I went in to explore options and speak with a human hoping the sales person would understand me. This would be my first car and my girlfriend was excited yet cautious about what would be her first car. The sales person was very helpful and answered questions. A lot of the questions were not known and there was a lot of asking the guy in the next desk, which was fine for me. I was interested in certain model and color. I felt like i was being sold on a model and color I did not want because that model and color were not available at that dealership and one would need to be ordered from another dealership. This fact was used multiple times to make me consider the cars that were on the lot, which were not what i wanted. I took a test drive, loved the car. Still do and see them driving by all the time and the models and color I originally wanted. We made clear the the sales person this was an exploratory visit and we wanted to learn how we can make it work, but once I made it clear i was not ready to run my credit (i had some credit issues i was ironing out) the sales rep was effectively done with me. The warm inviting feeling I had at the beginning was now a feeling of an uninvited visitor at a party. This make me realize the sales person was not interested in me, or my situation and concerns, just the sale. Once the sales person saw I wasn't ready to pull the trigger, we were shuffled out the door with minimal pleasantries. Love the car, but likely will go to Moncton to get my car now.

Bad experience from one of my favorite car brands. I had clearly made sure that I would like to know that I'm eligible for the offers that they are claiming to provide. After hours of discussions of the car features, test drive, financials, etc. and even after knowing that I'm a newcomer to Canada, they performed a hard credit check and said that I'm not eligible on a $0 down payment since I'm a newcomer and that I need to give 25% down payment to buy the car. Did they need a credit check to know that I'm a newcomer? They had already had that written down and I also conveyed the same verbally to which they said "Welcome to Canada". Why the hard credit check? Why talk about the car and financials? Why build the expectation? Pathetic!

I always have a great visit to Hyundai,. Service staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, and they have even squeezed me in late for an oil change. Service prices are fair and they always throw in a multi-point inspection and car wash (when possible). They offer a complimentary shuttle to and from work or other locations if you prefer not to wait for your service, this is great for working professionals.

My wife and I called Saint John Hyundai for a test drive on a car yesterday. She asked if the car was still available, and made a appointment for a test drive at 10:30. They called back 15 mins later and said they were detailing the car for us, and asked us if we could come in after lunch. We agreed we would meet at 12:30, so we readied ourselves, and drove in to the dealership. Pulling in at 12:26, I saw the car leaving. We met the salesman, Dan, inside, and I asked if that was the car. He admitted it was, but it was only out for a test drive, and would be back in 15 mins. The salesman proceeded to make the deal, and appraised our car, and gave us several financing options. By this time, over 50 mins had elapsed, and I asked him if we were going to be able to see the car. He kept looking out the window for it, and tried to string us along. My wife said maybe we could go to Costco for some things and drop back. He said no, I dont want you to leave. We got up and left. We came back 45 mins later to see the salesman, and the car was there. I went in and asked him if he sold the car He said someone was filling out a credit app on it. I asked to see the manager, and proceeded to speak with him. He admitted the people looking at the car were walk ins that entered the store a couple of hours ago. The salesman admitted the guy had actually come in the Sat before. The vehicle was not listed then I asked which one of them was lying, and the manager told me that there were like 6 people that had expressed interest in the vehicle. I told them that a deal was not a deal until it was signed on the dotted line, but there is thing called integrity, and that they didnt have any of it. I asked them "Is that what you do to customers"?. I have bought 2 new vehicles from Hyundai, and never expected to be treated like this. My advice, RUN AND AVOID THIS UNSCRUPULOUS DEALER. They sat there yesterday and told us how ethical they were, and that they wouldn't lie to us, but they were lying the whole time. They are not fair dealing, using customers against each other as pawns. They really blew it, and I hope this helps the next person who may be considering this dealership

Must be getting pandemic money from the government, won't negotiate on prices. Get ignored when you tell them you'll take your business elsewhere. Same thing happened five years ago. And I went to Port City Kia. That's right you have lost money on vehicle sales, between myself and others I've pointed to other dealerships, you've lost sales on about five vehicles. That's cool if you don't care, but at the end of the fiscal year. You probably will.

I will start with the positive. I purchased my Hyundai because of the salesperson and because of the way the car felt. However, it was really Tammy's friendliness and knowledge that made me say "yes". I will also say that Dallas goes above and beyond and has helped me a couple of times in the past. Jim, the shuttle driver, looks at me and knows where I'm going (I went to Hyundai every three months). Jim is very efficient and friendly. The negative is when I provide any negative feedback (because the service coordinator calls every time I get my car serviced). When I provide opportunities (also negative feedback), Hyundai makes excuses about Hyundai not calling me back about a question, blames me for not asking for the right person when calling, etc. I even see it in response to the negative reviews here. I really think "I apologize for the inconvenience and this is how we plan to improve" goes a long way with customers and makes them feel valued and will make them loyal to your brand.

When I first walked into the dealership everyone seemed kind and friendly, but unfortunately things went down from there. The sale person I was dealing with was very agresiva and a little unfriendly, which may the time spent there very stressful and uncomfortable. Upon telling the sales associate that we where just looking at our options at the moment and where not going to buying today, they became very unfriendly and basically said that we had waisted there time. They showed us a car on display in the showroom that we had asked to see and stood there until we walked out the door! I was very disappointed in the service and will not be going to in the future!

They are great!... until after you buy the car, service center is awful. Got a 2020 car that now has a laundry list of issues and of course they can never find anything wrong. Waited 7 hours for them to "reset" a couple sensors and test drive the car(less then 10km!!!) They also unplugged my dash cam, I wonder what they are hiding? The car continues to have issues, and probably will until the warranty is up, I bet all kinds of problems will be found at that point.

Used and lied to at Saint John Hyundai today. Called shortly after 9AM to set up a test drive for 10:30AM. Dan, the salesman called a few minutes later and told me the vehicle was being detailed and to come after lunch. I asked if 12:30 was okay and he said it was. Driving into the parking lot at 12:26, my husband and I noticed the vehicle we were supposed to be test driving leaving. Dan gave us a song and dance about he is only going to be 10 minutes, the person test driving was behind us in line, I had called first...etc. He gave us our trade in value, showed us what the payments would be, made some small talk. After waiting 45 minutes I asked if we were still waiting for the car to get back and he said yes. I then asked if it was going to be sanitized. He said yes. My husband asked again if were going to get to buy the car if we wanted. Suddenly, the answer changed. Dan told us this person had been in on Saturday and was back for a test drive. His manager later told my husband that he had just walked in. So why would you let someone leave with a car that someone had made an appointment for?They never had any intention of selling us the vehicle. We were used as a pawn for their negotiations. I told Dan we should leave and he asked us not to. I told him we would run some errands and come back. We did and they were in the process of selling the vehicle. They used us and wasted our day. We would have purchased something else from them today but they can't be trusted. Please take this into consideration when looking for an honest dealership that will bargain in good faith.

Purchasing my car 2 years ago went great, but anytime I've been back for service it's been horrible. Wait time is awful. I've booked appointments everytime, and my car is never done at said appointment time. One time I was told my car took so long (8am appt. I left there close to 4pm) was because there were so many walk-ins that day. What's the point of having appointments if you're not going to honor them? Disappointed, and annoyed, every time I leave there.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The service here is horrendous. They are all about the money. They forced me to pay 130 dollars to get my keys back, claiming that they had to pay the technician when the technician looked at my vehicle for maybe 5 minutes to diagnose the problem. The technician also had the audacity to tell me that when the check engine light comes on, the damage is already done to my car which is just not true. Saint John Hyundai will never get another cent from me and I will make sure to let my friends and family know not to purchase from them either.

We had 3 recalls on our car that we knew nothing about. Until we blew our turbo oil line and had to get my car towed to a garage and it cost us 350 dollars and the towing. We went to Hyundai after being told by the garage we took it to there was 2 recalls on our car. When there they told there was a recall the the part we just paid 350 dollars for. Which we did not receive. We asked to get are money back for the part we were told no but that they will take the part out and put a Hyundai part on for free. we told them no. It's already fixed and we had went 2 weeks without a car already and this wouldn't had happen to the car if we were had received the recall. We could had blew the engine but they didn't seem to care. And I say they I mean the service manager. Apparently it was head office that made the call to not refund the money. So least to say I will not be buying anything from them again. And I was a costumer for over 10 years bought 2 cars from them and that is how we are treated.

Many friends of mine have had issue after issue at SJ Hyundai. Bring the car in for an oil change, return to the dealer only to have several other issues appear out of nowhere or have issues reveal themselves a few days after having dealt with the dealer. My personal experience was dealing with a sales rep who kept calling and calling after I made it clear that I did not want to purchase a car from them as I figured I could not afford the car. He kept insisting I come back and take it for another drive to change my mind because I "loved the car so much". Badgering customers into making bad financial decisions is not how you're going to retain customers. If I could leave 0 out of 5 stars, I would. From all experiences I've heard from SJ Hyundai, it's been nothing but pathetic. I recommend you purchase a vehicle or have your car serviced elsewhere.. Not worth being a VIHO member with all the garbage you have to put up with over there.

We have purchased multiple vehicles from this dealership, always had all maintenance done here as well and very displeased with how we were treated recently. We had made an appointment for a screw in one tire and we had replacement tire in car, told the receptionist we were waiting. After an hour to patch one tire, we asked about how much longer and were informed our vehicle wouldn't be seen that day and given our keys back. When asked if we could still drive with the tire, we were informed no, it was unsafe but we could use our donut tire. No help was provided to help change the tires. When we called to make a complaint on how we were treated and the vehicle was not seen during our appointment time that was scheduled, we were told by Supervisor Barb we would be contacted by the end of the day or at the latest, the next day. We were never contacted! So we contacted Costco, they removed the tire from the rim and put our replacement on the rim for NO CHARGE. We will be going back only for warranty. Never purchasing a vehicle from here again. Thank goodness for Costco's help!

Very unhappy with saint john hyundai. I have a 2014 saint john hyndai with 55,000km that has caused me nothing but problems since purchase. It has the extended 7 year warranty or 140,000km which seems to be doing very little in my favor. The clutch had gone in my car so i called saint john hyundai inquiring about the issue and was told your clutch is not under warranty. Then I was later told there was a 20,000km warranty .From the beginning I Kept getting different answers depending on who I was talking to. After i was told my clutch was not under warranty i had taken it to my own trusted mechanice it turned out the slave cylinder (which is infact under warranty) was the problem and when it wore out it leaked break fluid through the clutch system contaminating my clutch beyond repair (also the starter had gone but this was not my concern). The slave cylinder and clutch were hyundai parts purchased from hyundai and along with the aftermarket starter i had a bill of almost $3200. I took the broken Hyundai parts into saint john hyundai explained my situation. Although i felt they did not do their job looking into the matter in the first place I still accepted some responsabilty told them i was not concerned about the starter or the labor cost as they did not do the work but i asked them to cover the price of the slave cylinder and clutch as they would have records of the payments and I had brought the old parts in so they could see the issue They said there was nothing they could do I asked how they could justify profiting off of parts that were clearly worn out, broken, and under warranty sitting in front of them. I was told i did not get the work done by them. Regardless of who did the work broken parts are broken parts I was told that it was hyundais decision not Saint John Hyundais, i love how they passed the blame as if it was out of their hands however the warranty was paid and arranged to "Saint John Hyundai" they are responsible.. BEWARE PRUCHASING ANY EXTENDED WARRANTYS!

I purchased my first hyundai from Ty Nelson in 2016 and when I decided to purchase another new vehicle this year Ty was my first call. I told him what I had in mind and he had 3 models ready for me to test when I got there. There was no question of whether I was going to purchase that day, I just needed to pick the right vehicle and Ty made it easy! I do love my new Hyundai as much or more than my first Hyundai but Ty's service played a huge part in my decision to purchase from Saint John Hyundai for the second time. AMAZING experience with Hyundai SJ recently! My sales consultant Mo was SO awesome.. wasn't entirely sure what I wanted and he was so patient, helpful, and knowledgeable! Even sat with me and went over multiple financing options so that I got exactly what I wanted at a price I could afford. After learning my last car got wrote off after an accident, he even got me a set of winter mats and winter tires on rims!! On top of that, Tammy on the financial side went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure I was approved for financing from my bank. Perks like VIHO, excellent extended warranty, and I also received a free oil change/car wash as well! Will DEFINITELY be returning here when I need another new vehicle!!
