Like most dealerships nowadays, Wheaton Hyundai has a habit of calling you relentlessly asking you to "trade in your vehicle" or for sales promotions. I've asked them repeatedly to stop and take me off their list to no avail. They claim that they didn't know. I know they aren't the only one that has this practice, so obviously it's a tactic that works, but they have no mechanism for opting out of these constant phone calls. I've even had multiple calls in a single day.

The other day I was driving by the dealership and noticed all of your car’s hazard lights were on. One of the most creative ways I’ve seen a dealership let their clients know they were having a sale!

The place is representative of the worst parts of a dealership. I bought a new Kona EV from here recently. Here's the kicker, because of the high demand, there is no haggling. We went and were happy to pay the agreed upon price. Somehow the entire experience, and what followed even more so, felt us feeling like we needed to take a shower. The offer sheet (which is really just the sticker price, keep in mind) comes in front of us. We put our deposit down when the government rebate was 10,000, and confirmed in July with the Sales Rep that we would still qualify. He assured us that was the case and had never followed up since. The government put a 90 day limit on the previous amount -- not a huge deal, but I'd expect a sales rep to at least inform future customers of changes to set expectations. Written on the sales sheet, verbatim -- "a VERY GENEROUS $8000 rebate." The sales guy then proceeds to tell us the manager doesn't like to sell the EV vehicles because he "is losing money on every one." Two things. The rebate has nothing to do with the dealership, it is directly from the government. How can you be selling a car for sticker price and losing money on it, and why is that even remotely relevant to be telling a customer who is paying full price for the vehicle? The sales person was not knowledgeable about the vehicle. That's fine, I had done my own research. I didn't need him to show me around, and I was totally fine with the pickup experience. He was a nice guy. There are parts that are missing between the 2019 and the 2020 model that we were not informed about, and then told we'd have to pay the difference. He was apologetic, and offered to throw in floor mats -- which we were fine with. The process took multiple days to complete, and we had to be diligent to follow up. But we were fine walking out of the dealership, despite feeling like we needed to take a shower from needing to constantly read the fine print and say no to up sells. It a dealership, and this is how some run, even if it isn't what you hope for as a consumer. A few days pass, and I'm happy with the vehicle. I stop in to ask some questions of the Service Manager, as the front collision sensor has been warning me it is on and off. Just wanted to check in, as I haven't had a vehicle with that feature. In the first 2 minutes of our conversation, as I'm describing the problem he says, "We can certainly take a look, but I have to warn you that if we don't find anything wrong, we'll have to charge you for our time." I'm floored that it is even a part of the conversation, as opposed to advising me to let it settle and if it continues to give them a call to set up an appointment. In my time of working with dealers from other car companies, I've never had a service individual say something like that. I've had techs in my car driving with me to try to track down noises and more, and they were happy to do it. This is the first time I've met the guy, and he's telling me that it is my problem to diagnose a real problem, otherwise I have to pay them. Follow up a week later. I fill out the feedback from from Hyundai Canada about my experience, recounting much of this but giving mostly positive feedback. The form asks explicitly for honest feedback. My sales rep texts me within 15 minutes of hitting submit, "Its come to my attention that you absolutely trashed us on the CSI email. If my language has offended you Ii apologize and i wish you would have brought that up to me or my general manager." Again, my comments recounted the experience (mostly related to the sales manager and of the service manager, not the rep), but were mostly positive. I offered to sit down and talk it through, to which he never responded. Take this as a word of advice, if you give anything less than a glowing report, they'll abandon you. Hyundai Canada has now informed me that the dealer has told them the mats are no longer a part of the deal. Draw what you will from this experience. We're happy with the car. What should have been straightforward turned into a real debacle.

An overall very positive experience for my wife and I shopping at JP Hyundai Nanaimo. The Sales department was extremely professional and they had our new Santa Fe ready and waiting at our agreed pick up time. A Big Thank You to Bejay, Rick and Scott for their professionalism and patience, especially when our 3 year just wanted to run around the office while completing our sales paperwork. Right from the Start of our vehicle shopping, and after explaining our needs, Bejay approached me with a non intrusive, low pressure sales pitch on the Hyundai Santa Fe. This vehicle met all of our needs and Bejay was extremely knowledgeable and informative with all the great features of the vehicle. After a good look over of the Santa Fe in the parking lot Bejay offered to take me for a test drive and further showed me all of the great driving features of the car. After Bejay sold me on the Santa Fe Xl he took me to meet Rick who was extremely quick and efficient at coming up with the best price possible on the vehicle and showed us all of the discounts and purchasing options that were available at the time. It was an extremely smooth transition from Bejay showing us all of the great features on the vehicle, to making a great deal with Rick, who answered all of our questions and explained all of our options, to signing the final paperwork for the offered deal. Since it was late at night and the dealership was already closed when we had finalized the deal we decided to return in the morning to pick up the vehicle and sign all of the paperwork with Scott. Once again I was extremely impressed with the efficiency of the Sales Department and Scott had all the paperwork printed and sitting on the table for when we arrived. Scott further explained a few more options that were available and was happy to explain how the vehicle warranty worked and all of the options that were available for the Santa Fe. Scott answered all of our questions with good honest explanations and it was obvious he has been doing this for a long time. I actually left the office feeling that we had probably forgot to do something because the process with Scott was so quick, professional and efficient. Once again, it was a great overall experience dealing with the Sales Department At JP Hyundai Nanaimo and I would strongly recommend anyone purchasing a new or used vehicle to go see Bejay for an informative honest experience.

I just bought a previously owned 2012 Elantra Touring from BeeJay at Jim Pattison Hyundai in Nanaimo. So far i love this car!!!!! I have owned and driven VW's, Chrsyler, GM and Mercedes. My favourite car will always be the Lexus I had for awhile but previous to this car I would never have considered a Hyundai. It handles well, great on fuel, quiet interior, lots of pickup and a really great stock stereo. Not really fancy but truly a great driving vehicle. BeeJay was very accommodating and took care of all of my requests. I normally do not post reviews but I highly recommend Jim Pattision Hyundai in Nanaimo. Emailed last week for Carfax and info about 2 new cars on their website. A low km Tucson ( 75000 km) and a sportage (122km) Sales manager asked “ which ones”..: I replied with pictures of the ads. The ads were new just posted ads stating the VIN and everything. 24 Hours went by and no reply from sales manager so we drove from Victoria to Nanaimo thinking he was busy. No just Inept at doing a good job. Get there and young sales Man tells us the Tucson has a blown engine. Couldn’t find the other one. To this date no reply from sales “ manager”. We emailed general manager and he apologized. Can not shut barn door after horse gets out. I asked For fuel compensation; ( $50) to which there was no reply. This drives me. It is illegal and unethical to advertise something when it is not available. Have a nice day.

Staff,are not professionnal,not even welcoming,I went there to buy a car and was ready to pay it without financing it,I spent almost 5 min in there without anybody welcoming me or even saying hi to me,and at the end I spoke to a sales lady and with her questioning to determine my ability to buy the car was very bias and rascist,I felt very bad,did not show my reaction and just left.they should improve their customer service.I will never go back there and now I had to buy a car from Nissan even though I liked hyundai.One of the sales lady answer to my question was:" In case you want to finance the car,we will have to do a credit check and we don't even know if you will be aproved........." And In my mind I was like waaaoouuhh,what a sales person,I left very sad, but I had to stay professionnal with no reaction at all,because I am a business person also,I have an MBA and I know how sales people should treat customers. And a friend of mine who was with me that day can testify the way I felt that day,She also heard negative comments from that sales lady. I drove 87 miles from Sidney to Nanaimo as I had seen the car I wanted on their website. Unfortunately when I arrived the car I saw I was told was their demo and not for sale and one has to order and sadly a many month wait which was not good news as I wanted to buy that day. I was offered a test drive which was great and confirmed that I wanted this car but reluctantly I left not able to buy one. I decided that I would order one at the Victoria Hyundai which is closet dealership from where I live and even had made an appointment to do that the next day and shortly after Nanaimo called me to say that they just unloaded a car like the one I wanted and it had not been ordered by anyone and they asked if I was interested. They also said it was the Deep Blue Sea colour I wanted but with a light interior rather than Black which I normally order. I quickly looked online to see the light interior and I just loved it and could not say yes fast enough and arranged to go up the next day and do the purchase which did. During the purchase time was treated as a VIP customer and when all was said and done I left a very happy customer in my beautiful new 2022 Tucson Ultimate Hybrid and it was such a treat to drive it to my home. I highly recommend Hyundai and Wheaton Nanaimo to everyone looking for a new/replacement vehicle.

I have to be honest and admit I have not bought a car here (though my daughter did when it was under different ownership) however the employees of this dealership came to my house and shoveled my driveway in a terrible snowstorm. I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Elantra last week from Jim Pattison Hyundai in Nanaimo. I am thoroughly satisfied with my buying experience. I met with Jon - Sales Manager first through email then in person on the day of the purchase. I then met Don who test drove the vehicle with me and with G.M. Andy who explained thoroughly the paperwork and financing arrangement. There was no pressure whatsoever and the car itself is beautiful so far. The first Elantra I owned several years ago was at 325000 km when I sold it with very few repairs or concerns.

Came in a couple of months ago because my car was wobbling and bouncing during driving. Guy at the service counter took it for literally a 30 second drive, came back in and said there's no wobble. Told us it was safe to drive on the highway, and sent us on our way. Told us to book a full appointment if we wanted them to take a closer look (And this was a month after having an alignment done with a 'road test', where they also upsold us to a tire rotation). Turns out the rear tire was rupturing on the sidewall and shoulder. Very obvious, big long tear, and dangerous! So not only did they miss this during the inspection, when we came in again because the car was bouncing they told us it was safe to drive. On the final appointment where they finally saw the rupture, they tried to sell us tires at full price, and tried to charge us for the visit. Just bad service and bad attitudes all around. Very depressing place. Take your business elsewhere, lots of friendlier places will do warranty work. Wound up buying tires at OK Tire, who were incredibly friendly and helpful, didn't require an appointment, and had us on our way within 20 minutes. The person that drove the Hyundai shuttle was nice though.

I came cross this used Nissan Leaf at Wheaton Hyndai dealership so I spent a full day to come over from Lower Mainland. Josh the salesman was nice to pick me up at Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. After checking it out and testing it on the road, I got a lift from Josh again to the bank to get the payment. Just when I signed all the documents and ready to drive home with the Leaf, I was told that there was only ONE FOB key. I thought it wasn't a big deal so I carried on and drove home. Afterwards I realize that if I want to have the FOB duplicated, it could only be done at a Nissan dealership and it costs more than $350.00 to do so. I got back to Josh and he wasn't able to provide much help. I then contacted Jay the Sales Manager for help. For long story short, it took another two months before I received a FOB key. Then I brought it to a local Nissan dealership to have it programmed. I finally got a spare FOB key though I still had to pay part of the cost of programming. I don't give 5 stars because that I wasn't told there was only one FOB key beforehand and the delay of getting one. Jay was very helpful getting me what I needed though.

Worst buying experience I have ever had. Purchased a brand new Tucson in August, 2017 for an all in price of just over $38 000.00. It has now been in the shop since March 10, 2018, over ten weeks, and I'm being told it will be at least another two weeks. The first time I took the car in, it was just over seven months old and had less than 8000 km on it. I have picked the car up four times with assurances that it was fixed. The repairs have never lasted more than one day. One time, the extreme shaking and inability to control the acceleration started again less than 4 blocks from the dealership. After 4 attempts to repair my vehicle, I am now waiting for an engine replacement. A lemon is defined as a car that has been in for repairs three times, and it still isn't fixed or a car that has spent more than 30 days in the shop, and it still needs a repair. I have requested a full refund for my "lemon", but was only offered $23 000.00 from this dealership as a trade in for another vehicle on their lot. I will never, ever purchase a Hyundai again and I will never, ever purchase a vehicle from Jim Pattison Hyundai. I gave one star because the salesperson I purchased the car from was really nice. He is no longer with the dealership. My experience is a perfect example of why Canada needs "LEMON LAWS" to protect the consumer.

My fiancée's 2007 Santa Fe needed a new oil cover core. I called the parts department and was told that they would have to order it for me. When I arrived, I found that the ordered part was incorrect. I spoke to a receptionist named Linda who reordered the correct part for me. She told me to return at 2pm on the following Tuesday. I arrived on the appointed day and time, only to learn that the part hadn't arrived. By then, my fiancée and I had to make rather inconvenient plans to swap cars twice so I was very frustrated that the dealership didn't even try to call earlier in the day to tell me that the part was still unavailable. I spoke to the same receptionist as before. She not only refused to take responsibility for neglecting to call me on the day, but was also adamant that it wasn't her fault that the part wasn't available, that she didn't know when the part will be available, and was generally rude to me. I was told that there was still a chance that the part would arrive in the afternoon so I simply left the parts department, planning to call back later. An hour later, I called to find out whether the part had arrived in the afternoon shipment. This time, Linda raised her voice at me, asking if I was the same person who was giving her a hard time earlier in the day. Next, I called the main office and asked to speak to the general manager, Gage, but he wasn't available. Nearly a week later, Gage called me back. He did listen to my story, but didn't express much interest. He told me he'll mail me the part (for which I've now been waiting almost three weeks) and that he'll reprimand Linda. It appears that the part still hasn't been mailed three days later. I now realize I could've ordered the part online instead of having to deal with the extremely rude and disinterested staff at this location. This experience has soured me on the Wheaton Hyundai Nanaimo dealership (if not on the entire Hyundai brand). I don't recommend doing business with this dealership.

Much as I feel the need, I will refrain from using profanity when describing one of the worst experiences I've had at a dealer ship service center. Due to my loss of employment due to Covid, my wife and I are down to one vehicle which she uses for work (our only income). This morning she discovered her tire was flat and needed to be replaced. Since we bought her car there we "assumed" we we be treated as valued customers but ... you know the old expression about assuming. When I spoke to the person who answered the phone I explained our dilemma and the need to have as little down time as possible he checked his booking sheet and was given an appointment time. When we arrived to have the tire changed, a 20 minute procedure (30 for the new guy", we were told that it the car wouldn't be ready for at least an hour and a half but we were more than welcome to wait it out in their blistering hot showroom. Rather than apologize, the manchild I was dealing with obviously had no understanding of the "customer service" concept. His attitude was kurt, rude and dis-respectable. Trump like in fact. I'm too old to deal with self important people like him anymore. Especially ones who are still wet behind the ears. I don't loose my cool very easily but after a really bad day and his snide and condescending attitude, from a pup younger than my boys no less, he's lucky I didn't leap over the counter and "correct" his attitude. I'm too old to deal with self important people like him anymore. After today's experience, we will never set foot in that dealership again and until the manchild is fired and replaced with someone with a genial personality and a willingness to help, I suggest you all avoid it too.

Over the past two weeks I've been working through a deal with Chris Taylor (sales) and Scott Bradley (finance) on trading in my 2014 Veloster for a 2018 Tucson GLS SE. Not only were they extremely professional and friendly, but they even went to bat for us, finding a silver one from another dealership when we thought only black would be available to us. (I know dealerships swap vehicles all the time, but this one was more of a negotiation as the other dealership didn't want to give up its silver one). Chris was professional and knowledgeable, and Scott was friendly and a real straight-shooter. We didn't get any BS from these guys, and a very fair deal. 10/10 would recommend again! another shot to share my great experience about this dealership : ordered winter tires 3 months ago and was told that the tires have arrived....so I was called to come in at 1:30 on a Saturday to put the tires on....however when I went there they said appointment was 10:30...its funny because I had called on Friday and confirmed the time for next day...so I asked for a new appointment two weeks later to bring the car in again on a Saturday morning.....arrived at their dealership on the next appointment and again...guess what...there was no appointment booked for me AGAIN. so at this point I didn't trust their services at all and asked if they could verify they have the correct tires for me...they verified and said its Michellin tires as per your order...So they drove me back home to put the tires on...and guess what...30 minutes later they call me back.... saying the tires have wrong measurements ??? seriously??? ok ok...now they tell me Oh sir our service manager will call you on Tuesday (which was more than two weeks ago from today) to discuss your order and apply the discount so sorry....guess what.....Until two weeks ago they hadn't returned any call...once I wrote a review the next day I saw they had called without leaving any voicemail.....anyway somehow my initial review was gone...that's why another try....this dealership os very unprofessional and has very disorganized staff...definitely not recommending them to anyone...Just visit another dealership or so....at least they know what they are doing...what I found remarkable is their response on my review...they apologized with a smiley face that their management was going through a change etc....Seriously I dont care....You didn't respect my time and wasted my time 3 times and I waited for 3/4 months for a simple tire order....giving me a smiley face comment is not the proper response....perhaps You really need some Management reform.

Went there to check out an Elantra that was low km and fairly priced. When trying to set up the test drive the salesman seemed to be delaying. Then I got frustrated and showed up. I was told the vehicle was in for a detail all day which is why they didn't get back to me. For the test drive the car was still dirty. Got back and opened the hood, freshly detailed. I looked a little deeper and found a rats nest and bounce sheets everywhere. Thought I might as well see what they'll give me on trade because they had a few other vehicles I was interested in. They offered $4000 less then every other dealer I was talking to. At that point I just walked away. I was definitely not impressed. I ended up getting everything I wanted from a ford dealership down island. Now that I own an Elantra I will be driving out of town for any service or recalls. They gave me such poor communication and customer service when I was trying to purchase a vehicle that I will not return for ANY reason.

My fiance and I went up to Wheaton Hyundai to take a look at a 2021 Hyundai Elantra N Line and had the pleasure of working with Rebecca, Nicole and Norm. Rebecca was easy and lovely to work with! She was nice enough to have the vehicle ready for a test drive as we were driving up from Langford. We received another offer from a different dealer that we didn't think Wheaton could beat but Rebecca and Nicole didn't give up!! We gave Rebecca a number and interest rate to beat and she (along with Nicole and Norm) delivered!!! In the end, they made us the best deal on this vehicle and we were over the moon that everything worked out smoothly. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to meet Nicole but she was great to work with over the phone! Bought brand new car Leaked from the start Sometimes 3-4" in trunk Trunk carpet needed to be replaced as it was covered in mold This went on for 18 months Then dealership refused to do anything Leslie is manager ....knows nothing about cars.... Todd is GM. Compete goof. Condescending and rude. Refused the help....ignorant. They had my car for 3 months trying to repair it. (They provided me a loaner car) they could not locate the leak. There were Mould spores throughout vehicle. Had the vehicle tested by environmental company. It was full of mould. They still refused to do anything. I picked up my car and took it to Mid Island Collision who located the problems immediately. Unfortunately the trunk seal that had been installed twice by Jim Pattison Hyundai was installed backwards...also 4 different locations where it was leaking in truck. I decided to trade in my 2020 Veloster which I like very much for its design. After using for about a year I realized that the 2 door car and 4 people is the capacity that I have to change. And I did, I really appreciate them to offer good value for my vehicle and since they did have sale for 2020 and were able to work on price difference - I left with vehicle suits me better. Although one thing I do not like and I know I am not the only one. They do not accept American express, they should not discriminate one card against some other and rather negotiated with Amex about the rate. For that reason I may consider to do any car service with some other provider accepting Amex. Other than that - all happy and very satisfied customer

I am very disappointed in the lack of service i have received . I had a front seal replaced in my Sante Fe, at 98000 km, I am now at 10200 km and the same seal needs to be replaced. I called the service department over a week ago, 2 days in a row to inquire as to why I would have the same issue with the Sante Fe so soon.. I have yet to get a return call from the dealer. I have gone to Canadian Tire to resolve the problem. At least they are prompt and polite to their customers. I will add that Nanaimo Hyundai did call me to address this issue, promised to get back to me the next day and now I am on day 4 of waiting for that to happen ! I know that this will not be where I purchase my next vehicle ! As an update is needed, I will say the Nanaimo Hyundai, did come through in the end and treat me very fairly with my repair issue. I would say having to post on here to get a response was a bit disappointing, but in the end I am a happy customer, so I have updated my rating. Thanks again to the service department.

I think buying a new vehicle can be an intimidating process for anyone. Period. And, from my experience as a woman(and from what friends have shared with me of their experience) I would go as far as to say that women are particularily vulnerable to aggressive, cliche sales tactics. As a woman, I want to be heard. I want my specific and unique vehicle needs to matter. I want to feel respected and "safe" enough to ask questions that might sound a little silly. As I reflect on my experience with Josh at Nanaimo Wheaton Hyundai, especially in comparison to other dealerships I visited in this process, I am beyond pleased with his ability to weave human relational skills with sales skills. I am truly heartbroken while writing this review. I had visited this dealership not too long ago and test drove a Kona and a Venue. I was working with John and so thankful for his knowledge and patience. My dad and I visited the dealership together as I am a student and needed someone to cosign with me. My dad had emailed hyndai inquiring about the winter tire sale and was told that we would recieve a pair! When he arrived to his meeting with John and JJ the manager on wednesday JJ was not there and nowhere to be found. A little annoyed but we were told to return at 12. We arrived early and we talked to John about the tires. He told us that there was nothing that he could do and we wouldnt recieve them. JJ was still to come talk to us, but arrived 50 minutes late. My dad has a thick russian accent and was ethnically profiled by JJ. As soon as JJ heard his accent he said to us "its obvious we are not going to get along, this is the deal take it or get out. It is obvious that you guys are not going to buy anything." I have never experineced such disrepsect in my life. I am very sad that in this day and age this is what one has to deal with. In our 15 years of Canada we have never been ethnically profiled and I am sad to say that this was our exerpience with Hyundai Nanaimo.

Well I'd love to give a five star review like many others, but I just can't. We stopped in there a couple of weeks ago to look at their top of the line Palisade. We were met quickly and by a nice sales guy who found us a nice vehicle on the lot that we decided to purchase. They would have to rush the delivery for that day as we are from out of town, but said they could do it. Sounds good so far right? Well here's where the wheels start to come off the cart....pun intended. While looking at the car one of the options that I very much wanted was either adaptive (turning) headlights, side illuminating lights or fog lights. It's important to me due to an eye condition when turning corners and not being able to see especially well. I specifically asked about this as the US version does not have this option, but many times there are differences in US/Canadian options. Further muddying the waters is the fact that all of the lower end Hyundais have this option and so does their sister company Kia (which is what I was initially going to buy). However, I was assured by the sales person that in fact the vehicle DID have fog lights. In fact we both griped about how we hate dealerships where the sales people don't know their product....a bit of sad foreshadowing here. So we signed and bought the car. They did the rush job in getting it ready (missed a few things, but they did get it done) and we picked it up at the end of the day. No walk through of the car or the options as it was the end of the day so we got in and drove home. You can probably guess where this is going. No fog lights. So I contacted the dealer and they still at that point said the car has fog lights for sure and sent me a picture. Well the picture was of the parking lights/DRL lights...spoiler alert they are not fog lights. Agreeing that there was a problem they said they would look into it and take care of me. In fact I was asked if I would accept after market lights and I said I would if they were integrated well. Then radio silence. I emailed the dealership multiple times with the last being on Monday the 24th with no reply. So yeah...that sucks. The one feature I specifically asked for is not there and I am now considering trading this vehicle in on something that has this feature. Really for me this should be a one star review as I spent a good amount of money for the wrong vehicle, but I'll leave it at two stars as they are friendly...I guess that's worth a star. So as always do your research. I did, but was convinced that they really knew their product. I should have went with the Kia or Audi that were on the top of my list. EDIT:March 5, 2020 Wow...that was a pretty lame reply. I'm guessing that if your carpenter built your house wrong as there was "too much to learn" you'd be more than a little upset. Also, it in no way shape or form addresses how you were "going to take care of me", nor your lack of response to my emails. But I understand you got your money and you're onto the next customer.

***1st Try*** Tried calling to book a service appt, was put on hold for 5 min, so hung up and called again. Reception told me they'd get service to call me back as they were dealing with a customer. An hour passes, no call back. My wife calls, gets put on hold for 5 min. She hangs up and calls back and reception offers to take a number for service to call back. My wife declines as we've already been waiting for that. Receptionist says they are super busy and a service person is away sick so they are backed up... ok thanks for telling us that now after getting the run around. I can't give a review on their mechanical servicing since I couldn't get far enough with them to even book anything. Time to look elsewhere, they're too busy to take on new customers it seems. ***Edited from 2 to 4 stars after making a later appointment and everything went well once we finally got in.

This dealership is the ONLY reason I will NEVER buy another Hyundai! In August 2018 I had the unfortunate experience of my 2017 (22,000km) Hyundai Sante Fe's engine blowing while I was on vacation on Vancouver Island from Calgary, and having my vehicle towed to this appalling establishment, Hyundai should be ashamed to to be associated with this dealership. I was treated as though I was just a dumb woman, and that it was my problem that the vehicle they are supposed to stand by failed. When I met their Finance Manager Scott Bradley, right away it was assumed that I would trade in my vehicle for a new one; NEVER! Multiple inappropriate comments from the Scott "cars are a waste of money". Scott asked what area of Calgary we were from, and then said that if we were form the North East he wouldn't help us (we ARE from the North East); I don't think where you live should determine what assistance you receive from anyone. I called to find out the status of delivery on the new engine and Scott told me "it's not like you can track it like UPS". REALLY??? I have been speaking with Hyundai Canada regularly, and contacting the Service Manager Jesse Erengerg at Wheaton Hyundai, for the cheque they still owe me (that they promised to pay) and a Service Invoice to have documentation to show what work was done. Still to this day, more than 2 months later I have received NOTHING! The worst Customer Experience EVER! You purchase a vehicle for a large sum of money and you should know that the company you bought from will stand behind it, this is not the case with Wheaton Hyundai.

I purchased a 2016 Hyundia Sonata about a month ago from the Nanaimo dealership. The experience was low pressure and I found the car I wanted at a great price. And I don't say this lightly, I spent a week comparing with Vancouver dealerships, Auto trader and other places on the island. They had the best price at the time in all of BC for the car I was looking for. This is also my 2nd Hyundia Sonata. The space and features are all very user friendly which is hard to find with all the fancy tech most new cars come with. The features are high tech, but practical and useful, rather then confusing noises you just want to shut off. Beyond that, the buying experience I had was not stressful and I would go back for my next vehicle as I have strayed and had a different vehicle for a year - ended up going back to Hyundia. I did not receive a bunch of unnecessary calls and texts while I was making my decision either, which was nice - as I had said I was serious and just needed some time to make things final. Corbin (sales) and Rick were easy to talk and were able to answer all my questions, I also didn't feel ignored after I bought the car and had a couple questions - this is important. I got a fair price for my trade in as well. Overall it was a great buying experience and I have a car I love.

After spending over ten grand on used older vehicles and repairs last year, coupled with a new baby and numerous back surgeries, thanks to the jerk texting and driving, I wanted the piece of mind, safety, and security that one should get with a newer vehicle, so I bought a 2016 Hyundai Elantra from a private dealer. I buy said vehicle end of October, put 7000km on it, to find out the rattle grinding sound was my brakes for the callipers seizing. I was instructed to take into a Hyundai dealer for warranty repair...enter Jim Pattinson. I was concerned about coverage and other potential issue so ended up in contact with the GM Todd. Todd went to bat for me but in the end only the callipers were covered leaving me with a $500 repair job on the brakes, a day after my frickin car payment came out, less than three month of owning this vehicle, not purchased from them. I didn’t go into a sob story aside from explaining how I had purchased the car for reasons already explained here, and how devastated I was to have to come up with more money I didn’t have budgeting for with this car. I thanked Todd for all his hard work, discount he offered to do the brakes, and really just for being empathic to my situation, actively listening, and doing his best to help. That is when the unexpected happened, Todd said, “you know what, I’m going to cover the cost of this for you”. He went on to say he would have done this for a customer of the dealership in my situation, but regardless of where I bought my car, he wanted to help. I’m absolutely floored by the kindness and generosity of Jim Pattison Hyundai and I’ve spent zero dollars there...I can’t even imagine how a paying customer is treated! Highly recommend and extremely grateful????

Between this dealership and Hyundai Canada, I am so thoroughly disappointed with everything to do with Hyundai period! My fuel sending unit went last November, and at a cost of over 600$, I had it replaced at a licensed shop in Parksville. One year and 7....yes...your right..I said 7 days later, the part stopped working. Called Jim Patteson Hyundai Nanaimo, nope, they wont cover it over one year.....keep in mind its only 7...yes 7 days later.....so..I call Hyundai Canada, spoke to Daniel. He told me he would work something out with the management in Ontario. Said he would call me back the very next day. Over 2 weeks later, I finally started calling every day, and today he FINALLY got back to me. The answer was no. I cant believe that I will have to spend ANOTHER 600$ plus, to replace this part AGAIN...I guess hoping that it wont break in another 366 days, because Hyundai will NOT replace the part if its over 365 days. Keep that all in mind before buying from this dealer, because believe me, I am very sorry that I bought something this cheaply made and over priced.

Went on a Friday morning to look at an AWD vehicle. Took it for a test drive but it hadn't been inspected so continued looking at vehicles elsewhere. Came back on Saturday as they said the inspection had been completed. This report indicated N/A under the AWD column...it says AWD right on the back of the vehicle and the controls are right next to the e-brake. Not exactly the 'rigorous' inspection they advertise. Waited for two hours to speak to finance department and was offered standard finance rate of 6.99 even though my credit rating is 850. Their first response was that the finance manager was out of the office (on a Saturday?), then they said that I could get a better rate if I didn't put any money down (?!) Then said that the bank was now closed (after I waited for two hours) and that they would be in touch first thing Monday. It's 11 am on Monday and still no contact. I'll consider it a bullet dodged and share this experience to save others the headache. Take your money elsewhere.

I bought a used low mileage Jeep that the dealership had just taken in on trade. I got a very good cash sale price, a few thousand below black book value. What the dealership did not know and which took me almost a month of driving to diagnose was the Jeep had a leaking head gasket which was causing a lose of coolant. Daniel Jones the General Sales Manager did not hesitate in taking steps to have the issue attended to at no cost to myself. The dealership stood behind the sale had the jeep fixed locally in Victoria for me regardless of the fact they are in Nanaimo and might have been able to do the work in-house at a lower cost. Highly recommended .. they can be trusted

I came to get a key cut for my car, appointment was made for this morning. When I arrived I found out that they forgot to have the key cut, and forgot to notify me. Since I am coming from out of town their solution was for me to pay the $85 for the key and drive it down to the locksmith pay the locksmith and drive the key back for them to program it, and pay for programing. At first I thought this was a reasonable solution and I paid the money for the key and when I asked for the locksmith location, I was advised it was 20 minutes away in downtown Nanaimo on Nichol Street. I decided I did not want to take an hour (both ways) out of my day to move a key from their location to the locksmith due to their error, or drive downtown Nichols Street as i haven't been in that area before. So I had my money refunded for the key that I just purchased and drove the hour back home. Very upset, what a waste of time, they should of drove the key themselves, and programmed it. I don't understand why I would do all the leg work for a 15 min, computer job of programming( service attendant words- 15 mins) for 250 dollars
