November 07/2017 Mounted and Balanced 4 winter tires 119.69$. I attempted to drive to Victoria,on the highway something wasn’t right and one of the tires was making a sound that indicted a problem. Five times I returned with a request to solve the problem. At best I was given polite lip service and was asked what would I like to do. I’m not a mechanic.Eventually I went to Discovery Honda for help. Preformed Diagnostic and Inspection Rebalanced all Tires,All were out of balance. I shouldn’t have had to go elsewhere for help.

Over a two week period my wife and I visited many car dealerships, test drove many vehicles and met many salespeople. We ended up purchasing a 2016 Honda Civic from Nanaimo Honda. This would not have happened if not for Dan Kowalenko, the salesperson who we were fortunate enough to meet outside the dealership the day we arrived. I've bought two cars from this local, small city dealership. Sure it's the only Honda dealership in the Nanaimo area, but even if it weren't I'd still only buy here. They look after their customers period. If you go check them out I recommend you ask for Omar in sales. Omar is bright, honest, nice, and really knows his stuff. And if there's some detail about a car he's not sure of, which is rare, he gets you the answer. I've also had the pleasure of dealing with Natalie for finance, and Jason in service. Amazing customer service by all. Even if I didn't live in Nanaimo, I'd still come here to buy a car.

Made an apt for recall to be done a week in advance. Dropped the car and 1/2 way home to Cedar they called to say they didn't have the parts. Re-scheduled the apt and asked them to check airbag sensor. Picked car up - was charged $40 for the check and car was not washed....in Kamloops almost all the dealerships detail the car upon rtrn - wash and vacuum!! That is good customer service! Either the car should have been detailed or the sensor check waived for the inconvenience of the RECALL and the screwed up apt. Will not be purchasing my Honda from that particular dealership - customer service is lacking!

I went in at 430pm not knowing they close at 5pm because my air bag light kept coming on intermittently over the past couple weeks. It was the first opportunity to visit a Honda dealership to have diagnosed as I had been been driving across the country from Ontario. Even though I went in very late in the day, and very close to closing time, they took me in and had it diagnosed for me. This simple action was enough to make them stand out. Any other dealership would've been like "sorry can't help today come back tomorrow". I'm staying in Port Alberni for the week and appreciated not having to come back to Nanaimo (the closest Honda dealer and not a quick drive) to get it looked at. I would recommend this location for their customer service and would use them in the future if I'm in the area.

Every single time I deal with the service department I leave wishing I never had to come back. (I only go there for recall work). They waste your time. From waiting for the service manager to serve you, because clearly the others behind the desk are not aloud or to afraid, to needing to leave your car with them for far longer then it takes to work on it are repeat experiences I have had.

What they pulled here is most likely illegal, but I signed a contract without fully reading it. I emailed the dealership after the fact and did not even receive a reply. Great service...

I came in for a service on my car and the woman that I talked to on the phone was very friendly, she was able to book me in the very next day on short notice, which was awesome. The gentleman who helped me at the counter, I think his name was Dennis, was very polite. They offered me free shuttle service to the nearest Starbucks to wait for my vehicle to be done. Notified me of an extra cost for a part that I needed. In the end everyone was very nice to me, no hidden fees, Dennis explained everything that was on the bill, and also gave me a free car wash token! Bonus! All in all a really good experience!

I took my Honda in with an oil leak at the top of engine. My mechanic said it might be under warranty so give Honda a call. I talked to a nice fellow there and he said yes bring it in and we will look at it. I booked an appointment and when I got there another guy let me know, it would be $169.99 just for a diagnostic. I wish I was told that before. It cost me $199.92 just to be told it’s not covered under the power train extended warranty. I will take my car somewhere else from now on. As a student taking the HCA course and only working casually this was a bit of a shock! Did they really need to go through a whole diagnostic for that problem. Which turned out to be the camshaft end plate needs to be re-seal. Thanks for the free car wash Honda! Or $199.92 car wash.

Well let's see, I have been online window shopping for months now. I found a 2017 CR-V Ex with only 20k on it and wanted to see it in person, so I went on April 11th when they were closed to see it and some others. On the 13th I went online and booked a viewing for the 15th at 830am. Liam emailed me right away to confirm my appointment. I decided on the 14th I would go look at it again, so I went there at 6:45pm, and who just happens to be on the lot getting ready to close up... Liam!! He remembered my name from the email... How awesome. I said "I was just looking before I come and test drive tomorrow". He offered to get the keys so he can show me the interior and go over a few things. Which was totally great, especially since he was going home in like 10 mins. The test drive went very smoothly, Liam was very thorough. We were out for about 30 mins. He went over many features about it. Seemed very knowledgeable. When we got back we went over some more details. I asked about how long it had been there, how many looked at it, and if there were more people to look at it. He didn't give me a sense of "OMG you better get it now, cause someone else is coming next and will take it" vibe. He was very let me talk myself through this and see if its a good fit for me and my needs. Which I appreciate so much. After some deliberation, I decided it was a great fit for me, and was taken over to Sandy. Where she began to go over some more of the financial details. She was aware of what I was able to afford and worked put a great plan for me :) Even threw in a little something for me. When I was deciding, I had to use a life line "Called my mom" for encouragement.... lol. Since it was a purchase to help with her mobility too, we put down the deposit. I came back on the 19th to finish off the paperwork and took "Fancy" home. Thank you Liam and Sandy for making my 1st "New to me" vehicle a very smooth and positive experience. The only thing I would have changed after talking with some friends is, i should have asked was "What can you do to sweeten the deal?".... lol

Wondering about their customer loyalty. Do they really walk the talk they use to close the sale? Or are they grooming their customer with fast talk promises that aren’t written into your sales agreement. If their financing promises seem too good to be real they probably are is what I hear. Think I’ll see what Mazda is like. Mazda is a better product anyway.

We were impressed at how well prepared he was both when we arrived for a test drive and the vehicle pickup. At no time did we feel any pressure. Shiffon, the financial advisor was helpful and personable. Unfortunately our experience with the "product advisor" was rather poor. He was not able to advise us at all. In fact, even with 4 days advance notice that we were coming to see a Honda Clarity and test drive one, he was woefully ignorant. The test vehicle had a standing pool of water in the passenger door handle-- which when discovered by our putting our hand into the puddle, it was not removed or mopped up, his only comment was, "Gosh, I guess the window was left open to the weather!" If I was trying to sell a $40,000 car, I might run to find a cloth to remove it for aesthetic purposes and the comfort of my potential customer. The product advisor said repeatedly that we were more informed about the PHEV then he was. And we were first time buyers!!! When we indicated we were intent to purchase the Plug-in Hybrid, Electrical Vehicle and would return on the following Tuesday (3 days later), we anticipated the salesman being better prepared. Sadly this was not the case. In fact, our NEW ELECTRIC vehicle was NOT even charged!! We were forced to drive home our ELECTRIC vehicle on gasoline. Whereupon we were required to charge it ourselves. For a person planning to buy or sell an electric vehicle of any sort, one would expect the product advisor to be informed that the car requires charging.

I'm not usually the kind of person to write a negative review on the internet, but after how disrespected I felt after leaving the Honda dealership yesterday, I've had a few people tell me I probably should. As a 27 year old woman I'm not unfamiliar with being talked down to when it comes to my vehicle, but my experience at the Nanaimo Honda Parts Department was one of the worst I've ever had. I recently purchased a Honda Element and had several more cosmetic parts I wanted to replace or purchase. I found mostly everything I needed online but I figured I would much rather ask at a local business rather than supporting Amazon, which is guess was a mistake. When I asked the man behind the parts counter if they generally carried Element specific parts, as the Element is now a discontinued car, he just stared blankly at me and after a few seconds just said "what ones...?" Fair, I guess I should have been more specific off the get go. When I told him I needed a mounted backing for my license plate he went off about how the cars come with them, so why would they carry them? My car was originally purchased in Alberta, so, no, it did not come with one, which is why I want to buy one... I just let that slide and asked for the next part. I needed a replacement for my front side marker bulb and when I asked him about it he actually LAUGHED in my face and said "I'll obviously need to see the bulb to know what you're looking for..." At that I gave him a big thumbs up and said I'd just go to Napa then, cheers. As usual, at Napa they were able to search for the bulb I needed in their system. Funny how they have a better capability to search for a Honda part than the actual Honda dealership. There were several other cosmetic and specific parts I needed from Honda, but unfortunately I'll be taking my business online to Amazon like most people of my generation, so as to not have another experience like this one.

I had a insurance covered dent from a hit and run driver repaired at a colision business which included realignment of the rear wheel the week prior to seeing Honda. After the excellent repair work was done by the colision repair company, the oncoming colision indicator alarm went off constantly. Like overy 100 times a day. The colission repair company took my car back to investigate and repair that sensor. It seemed much better but not fixed. I called them again and they suggested I take it to Honda for investigation of it. When I called to book the appointment the woman "Christie"I think her name was. Was extremely rude. I asked how long the appointment would take as I have to work. She said I don't know maybe 2 - 3 hours. I said I car wait around that long I have to work.I have no ride. She said well that's up to you, your on your own . She never even told me there was a service car to take me.home or.drop me off. Also I said I need an oil change what is your price on that ? She said it's (something) like $76 I said oh that's expensive I usually take it somewhere else (a certified business)and it's $25 less . She said oh well if you have a friend doing it that's not a surprise. That's the going rate in fact you'll never find anyone else to do it for less. She was the most rude person I've ever encountered at Honda. She left me annoid and scrambling for a ride home. If not for Kelly at the service desk and Kevin the ride giver, I'd have a problem recommending Honda. I've had a Honda Fit before this car which I liked so that is why I bought my Honda HRV. But the service from Honda with that car was even worse. I like the car very much but after the super sales work and the sales. Honda continues to have really terrible service receptionist, support and prices. .

The only thing that had had a problem with was when they ordered a cluster that was to get installed, it took me after 2 weeks, to have to call them for them to tell me the part came in. That's when I booked the appointment to get it installed. I'm just a bit annoyed that I had to call. They should have called me as soon as they received it. I don't enjoy driving around with no speedometer, temp, or gas level. Them knowing I needed it replaced should have put some importance on it being installed. But other than that. Awesome lol

My Nanaimo Honda Experience leaves me a little lacking in words. I’ve purchase four new cars in my life And the first three all left me frustrated and quite annoyed. This is my first experience where I went in with lowest expectations and left feeling relief, and excitement. The first person I met was Mike the lease manager, and I have to admit the name Mike is a good sign. He was extremely thorough in describing the car, demonstrating it, and a good passenger when I was test driving. After my purchase was complete he gave me a full rundown that taught me how to use the majority of the features which would’ve been a little bit boggling thanks to new technology. Just purchased a 2017 Civic EX with Honda Sensing on January 5th. We love it. I just need to get my Star Trek uniform. The assistance we got from Michael Lumley was thorough, complete and very helpful. He took time to explain a fairly complicated machine and was able to answer any question instantly. On the test drives he demonstrated the various safety features of the car and helped set up the car when purchased. Previously we purchased a 2009 Honda Fit Sport from Nanaimo Honda. We loved it until I spun out on ice and totaled it in December. We have found the service provided by Nanaimo Honda to be excellent. Your servicing department sucks. They dont call you back to tell you they are finished with vehicle and then when you call and ask for a shuttle they complain they will have to stay later to do so. Also we have asked for our phone numbers to be changed 4 times and still they do not change it. They dont ro the car washes at the dealership I have to go out of my way after spending all this money and time servicing it to do it myself at a car wash when other dealerships that I own vehicles at have all washed the inside and outside of the cars. And almost every person's attitude it shot at the service department and seem like they just dont care about continuing to have ur service and if it wasn't for my warranty I wouldn't even be going back there for servicing. Hate to tell you Nanaimo Honda but your a/c is a sealed system so if you don't find the leak it's still there look harder and actually fix the car. When I told the nice man at the desk I was a refrigeration mechanic he stopped with his excuses and just said" I don't know what to tell you" how about you'll fix her car right this time so we don't have to come back next year. This review is a direct result of a series of obnoxious and unwelcome phone calls from both the sales staff and Service Department. I have received two calls from sales associates, asking if I am interested in buying a brand new car (mine is barely a year old). Both times I have asked firmly to not be contacted. The number today appears to be from a private phone number of the sales associate, I find this alone to be odd and concerning. I do not enjoy the thought of a complete stranger having my private number on his phone. I even phoned the reception desk after being contacted about Servicing my vehicle and asked that I be removed from the contact list, I was assured that my name was removed and that this would not happen again. My purchase experience was poor and I will not be returning. Should I continue to receive calls I will write a detailed account of my experience including photos and relevant evidence and documents to support my claims. Do not call or email me.

I never imagined that I would ever be rating either a salesman or a dealership highly. Mark was knowledgeable and respectful. No pressure was exerted on us by the salesman or management at any point, and what was promised was delivered without any " fast ones" being pulled. I am very happy with our new car (2016 Civic) The only concern I have is the unavailability of roof racks from any manufacturer. I asked about roof racks during the test drive and was reassured that I could get an aftermarket one. But still, I don't fault Mark for not being thoroughly knowledgeable about the production schedule of other companies: his job is to know about Honda. I would definitely recommend dealing with Mark and with this dealership.

Vehicle was in for the airbag recall. Upon arrival I was greeted warmly, that’s where my positive experience ended. I observed the advisor doing her walk around and taking down the necessary information on the vehicle. She was writing down the information on the hood and trunk of my car! Where’s a clip board?! Excellent service and courteous staff. Prompt with reminders and phone calls. Shuttle service is super handy and the driver is nice to chat with! No issues apart from the fact that they cannot vacuum or wash car. You do get a free car wash token.

Kelly was a huge help with my car - when the fan belt they replaced continued to make noise they had it back in asap and fixed within a few hours, and while the recent power outage caused a bit of delay, they also helped fix an additional problem that had popped up with some of the door-activated features. Lots and lots of thanks, love going somewhere I know I can trust to take care of my vehicle! Also really love the complimentary shuttle service which means I don't have to worry about finding rides to work and back. The driver was very friendly and also dealt with some really nasty bowen road traffic during the power outage to get me back to the dealership and my car!

This is due to the dealership only having 1 Shuttle for all of their Nanaimo clients all day. I found my Honda online with Nanaimo Honda and worked with Liam Laturnus, who provided outstanding customer service. He was very quick and prompt to reply to my questions and because I live in Victoria, he completed a video tour of the vehicle for me to look at remotely. Let me start by saying Honda has great employees and I have received better service in the past but the level of service recently is terrible. Bought a brand new CRV 3 months ago and noticed the lights gets high condensation each time I drive it in rain. This is a safety issue and I made that clear. After multiple visits and ‘shop talk’ they agreed to change it under warranty. I went to pick up the car after the lights were replaced and they broke something else. The Service Manager Jason I was dealing with didn’t think it was a good idea to call me and let me know ahead that they weren’t done but instead he sent a courtesy car to pick me up and told me at the dealership that more work needed to be done. I got frustrated and requested for a loaner vehicle as I won’t be going home with an incomplete job and he literally yelled at me and almost refused to give me the loaner car. Stood my ground and got the loaner car. Now the job is done, there is a crack on one of the replaced headlights from the inside. Kelly looked at it and offered to replace it again but I know for sure I will be trading/selling the car once the warranty is over.. Review was left on March 13th 2019 and issue is still pending as I wait for another replacement headlight.

Sep. 2019: in the market for a new vehicle and researching different brands on various websites. On Honda website responded to a prompt requesting a test drive. Had an immediate response from Dan Kowalenko at Nanaimo Honda. Visited Honda and met with Dan - took a 2019 CR V for test drive with Dan accompanying us (at our request). I have mixed feelings, service people was good but it was over priced. They said full breaks service, tire rotation , oil change, change fluids and change of filters, for around $400 I agreed to that, but all I got done was oil change, oil filter and air filter because they said everything was good and not other changes were necessary and my bill was $385.77. For what I got this will be $100 somewhere else. I know car sales are down but you are leaving a bad taste to honda owners.

Great service. I started my search and had been communicating with other lots in town. I made an appointment at another non-Honda dealership to test drive a car, I was prepared to purchase and walk away that day as my previous car was very old and at the end of its lifespan, but the salesman stood me up and they didn’t send anyone else to talk to me. The next day I went to look at another car that I was underwhelmed by with my dad and on a whim we stopped at Honda because I really liked civics. We were immediately greeted within minutes of looking at a car. There were 3 very similar models that I was interested in and the salesman (I think his name was mike, but I am awful with names so I apologize if I got that wrong.) he told me their different features and what made certain features (mainly safety and engine) more superior than others without being pushy. I am extremely happy with my choice based off the Information that I was given. You could genuinely tell that it was coming from someone who believed in the product that he was selling. The lot was very busy, but we were welcomed by all staff and there was someone to available to help us at all times. The financer also did a great job of making us feel welcome and working with us. Overall I am happy with my service and am glad I chose to go with Honda because I would rather deal with that kind of environment when doing my services, compared to the environment down the road.

Asked for new key fobs and I have warranty, but they refused and said it’s not in the warranty terms I signed, when I signed the warranty everything except gas and oil were in there liability to deal with it, or fix it. I could never wish for better service than I receive from wonderful staff at Nanaimo Honda. Michael Lumley was my salesperson who directed me to the person who looked after my insurance coverage, payment etc. etc. etc. She was so personable and extremely helpful. Michael of course is always there for me , the same as Jason in the other department. I am actually spoiled with all the attention I get. There is never a thing left undone. All I have to do is drive up, ask for assistance and one or the other are right at my beck and call to make sure whatever I need is looked after. It does not matter how long I have my vehicle, the assistance I receive is always the same. I am always approached by people who ask how I like my ridgeline and I always ask them if they have a couple of hours, because that is how long it would take me to pass on all the info I have. I have convinced several people to buy from Honda, especially here in Nanaimo because of the wonderful service a person receives and of course the quality of the purchase. I will never ever have any other vehicle and will continue to buy a new one every five years. There are others at Honda who are also above and behond the service standard which makes for one big happy family and that is what I like.

It turns out that because the windshields have different curvatures depending on the make of car. So sadly they have to be the manufacturer's ones or they won't work as effectively. UPDATED x 2 (see bottom for most recent): I bought a used 2016 Acura MDX back in February. I was trading in a 2017 Honda Civic I was leasing. During the beginning of negotiations, the salesman, Troy, had asked if my Civic has been in an accident where more than $4,000 of damage has occurred. I said yes, as a deer ran into the Civic on the highway a few months prior and there was ~$9,500 worth of damage. Troy said no problem and we continued our conversation. Troy was great through the entire process. My main issues were with the sales manager, Derek, who got involved after we had negotiated $750 owing on my lease. He was able to waive it, which I was happy with. The Acura needed some work done to it, so I was told one week until I took possession. Derek called me after about 3-4 days to say I did not tell them about the previous damage on my Civic. I specifically remember telling them about it the day we walked into the dealership. He argued it's not in their records and I said it was a miscommunication. He was not present when I told Troy about the previous damages. Derek said regardless of the conversation, the $3,000 depreciation is being added to my finance bill. I askedfor my deposit back and said I will look elsewhere. He asked me to call back later with a decision when I have thought about it. I drove to Nanaimo Honda to talk with him in person about it. He took off a small amount from the depreciation to make it at the top of our budget, but still within the budget. I agreed to the terms. We have had the SUV since then. In June/July we noticed that whenever it rained, water would pool in the back right passenger side of the vehicle. We noticed it before but assumed someone had just spilled a water bottle on the floor; we dried it up and never thought of it until it started happening again when it rained. I called Nanaimo Honda three separate times before I could get an answer about my warranty covering it. I would either not get a call back, or the person I was speaking to wasn't sure. Derek refused to take it in until I mentioned I suspected the windshield they replaced was the culprit. He offered to take a look at it but said he was not able to offer a loaner car in the meantime. I refused to bring it in and he called a couple hours later saying he was able to get me one so I brought it by. The windshield was not the reason for the leak and I did not hear from Derek again. Not a single follow up from him since I bought the vehicle, either. Update as of August 17: Paul reached out to me and was very understanding. He offered to take the Acura and fix the leak. They had it for 3 days. They provided a loaner car to me while it was being repaired. It has not rained since I have gotten it back, but they seemed very confident the issue was fixed. I genuinely appreciate the effort they put into making it right. I was very happy with Paul's follow through on the issue after he was made aware of it. Kelly was very patient and understanding of the situation as well. That being said, I do not appreciate being accused of lying, right after being informed of a $3000 bill, four days after a deal was made. Especially when it is coming from a member of the management team. It made for a very sour first impression. UPDATE 2: The Acura was still leaking after their first attempts. I let Paul know and he said to bring it in right away and they'll look at it again. They offered a courtesy car for the full time they had it. About a week later they returned the Acura and the leaking was no longer an issue! It was apparently a very difficult to find (and recreate) leak; behind the bumper/fender near the firewall. They replaced/repaired the faulty seal and I have not noticed leaking since. Paul and his maintenance team were very courteous and professional, to which I greatly appreciate. I do not agree with the lengths it took for the issue to be resolved. That being said, they did what was right and fixed the issue for me, free of charge.

If you are in the market for a new or used Honda this is the place to go. Last week I found myself in a jam (electrical problems) and contacted the service department while I was on the ferry to the island. I was not even sure the car would start to get me off the boat. I had booked a business trip, complete with meetings and hotels etc so I expected to have to rent a car while mine was getting fixed. I called ahead of time in a bit of a panic and Kelly, the service manager, told me to try to get to the shop and he would have a look at it. Normally when I bring my Honda in for service it takes a few hours. I expected to drop off the car, take a taxi to a car rental place etc. When I arrived at Nanaimo Honda Kelly did take a look and advised me that he had already ordered the part I needed. Wow! I was in and out of there in about 1.5 hrs. I have never had such great service and I got a bit choked up as I thanked everyone. I was down, I needed help and they delivered. Thanks again!

Two weeks ago I took my Acura into Nanaimo Honda as the SH-AWD dash light was on. Our owner's manual stated to either pull over immediately or take it to the nearest dealer if close. The service employee made an appointment and I asked if it was ok to drive my vehicle with the SH-AWD dash light on considering what the owner's manual stated. I was prepared to leave my vehicle for service otherwise. The employee advised it would not be a problem to drive the Acura until my appointment. I drove away and about 10 minutes later in a turn lane and in the rain the dashboard went blank and my vehicle totally shut down. I had to call a tow truck and phoned the service employee to advise what happened. At the dealership I mentioned to the service dept. employee about paying the tow bill and there was no comment and it felt that he was being dismissive. He did contact me later that day to advise the alternator needed to be replaced. Although I was satisfied with the ultimate service the tow bill burned me and I was in the process of writing a negative review but decided to contact the service manager, Jason. He suggested if I would have come to him at the time he would have paid the tow bill. He then advised he would put the tow bill cost towards my next service and he will speak to the employee. My two star rating went up to a five with this quick and pleasant redress by Jason. Since we are looking for a new vehicle this action by Jason gave impetus for us to consider the Nanaimo Honda dealership. It really is the little things.

Im not over impressed with the shop. ITs very hard to get in touch with someone. took half a day 4 phone calls. The service writer (girl) seemed to be really rushed and wouldn't give me a chance to talk. More concerned with selling the extras than trying to sort our customers complaints about the vehicle. I dont think Ill buy another Honda based on experiences like this at this dealership. Lots of snarky comments too. all round just dont want anything to do with them. Ford and GM have customer service sorted out way better.

Good experience at the parts & service dept. from Sam H. & Michelle. I purchased new tires and an wheel alignment, their mechanic found another issue while doingthe repair. Overall not a great first impression I called and got voice mail I left a message and I never heard back from the service dept. I called back later that week and booked a apt. I showed up for the apt and requested the shuttle, but the driver was not yet back so I indicated that I would be out frontdoor speaking with Dan our salesperson. The shuttle driver then left without me. I walked back the sales area from the front door and the service manager realized the shuttle driver had left without me so he was great and he arranged for me to be driven home. Later the shuttle driver calls me and says he will pick me up at wood grove in 15 minutes, I clarify that my pick up point was at woodgrove and he said yes. So I hustled out of our house and walked to the mall. The shuttle driver calls and says your not here I am going to leave. I said wait I am walking as fast as I can, I am in front of the royal bank at the mall don’t leave without me. Somehow the shuttle driver thought I was at the mall. Communication wires were crossed. The shuttle driver was pleasant. Picked up my vehicle and after an oil change and tire rotation and my vehicle being at the shop from 1000 am to 130 pm the vehicle was not detailed. This was a surprise, with my previous new vehicles serviced at a dealership, the vehicle would always have quick wash and vacuum. Not today! I thought it was odd to be given a token to drive to a commercial car wash. Overall did not meet expectations.

I have concerns about the fact that I was told I had a break inspection/service done where my wheels were removed. If this was done I was not informed via any form of communication that I should have my lug nuts re-torqued after 100-150 km. I understand this is common practice in all other establishments. When I took my vehicle in for service I was told I needed a rear differential fluid change along with my regular service. I tried to find out why this was needed at approx. 22,000 kms and was told it was just part of the service schedule. There was no real explanation of why a new vehicle would need this done so early. Honda says it is scheduled at 25,000-35,000 kms. I was led to believe if I want to maintain my warranty I need to do everything they say needs done. This concerns me if the quality of the parts in the car need to be maintained so early does that mean the quality is low? I wanted to know what the actual rationale for changing it was, I was told repeatedly because it is scheduled, NOT because it was needed. I feel this was an unnecessary charge but to keep my warranty I have no choice but to do what they say. I really felt like I was being talked down to and was not being given any real reasons or explanations for what was being done. Being told our high performance parts need more frequent servicing. I do not own a high performance car. I will have my new Honda serviced elsewhere.

We only buy a new vehicle once every 10 years or so, so we are very careful in our research and spend a lot of time looking not only for the right vehicle, but the right dealership. Ryan, Ryan, Ryan.....what a wonderful fellow you are.....Long story, I will try and make it short....I came over to Victoria from Surrey to look at a car, it did not work out, there was one at Nanaimo Honda I was interested in so I hopped on a bus and took the over 2 hour bus ride to Nanaimo. Ryan had me picked up at the last stop which was Departure Bay ferry terminal. By this time it was already 630pm and they close at 7pm. He had the car already to go and we went for a test drive. It is now after 7pm, people are waiting to go home and I have no transportation as I thought I would be driving a new car back. Ryan (even though I did not buy the car) offered to drive me to Duke Point Ferry Terminal so I could get that ferry back to Tsawwassen as that is where my car was. The manager on duty along with Ryan and the fellow that picked me up at the ferry were all incredible. I could not believe the unbelievable service I got, especially when I ended up not buying the vehicle. Well done Nanaimo Honda and Ryan.
