I spent a day driving to Nanaimo to purchase a vehicle from this dealer. I had a third party presale inspection done which found the vehicle was due for $1800 in repairs. The dealer would not adjust his price accordingly, and stated that he could just auction it for more money. He also stated that he would get his mechanic to look at the repairs and call me back in a few days, which never happened. Overall it was a waste of my time and money trying to buy from them. Started off friendly but turned condescending when I brought back the inspection invoice. I would advise against buying here.

If there was a lower rating than one star I would have given that. Old Guy was super rude, never payed any attention, car was unbelievably dirty and smelly on the inside. Don't trust them, the cars are not actually inspected at all, I checked the cabin air filter and it was full of leaves dirt debris along with other gross things. I would never recommend anybody to go there. Never going back.

also went to buy a vehicle, and when the guy there could be bothered to look away from his phone he barely spoke to me i asked about a truck and said i was interested, (it hadn't been inspected yet,snowed) i left my number and asked to be contacted as soon as it was inspected. Didnt get a call, i called three days later,finding out after it was also posted online the day after i asked about it, and it was apparently already sold(post is still there almost a month later). lots of places with people who are actually trying, wouldn't reccommend.i imagine if anything goes wrong with anything you buy there you'll probablly get treated the same way.

Just bought a Smart Car. I am very pleased with the sales help I received, the directness and clarity of communication, and the car itself. They have several of these on the lot, and Chris helped me determine which would be best. The process seemed completely transparent, and their shop did all the necessary improvements (brakes, rotors, wipers, oil filter, etc). I live in Victoria, and as an added bonus, Chris drove it down and brought it to my home! I would highly recommend Bouman Auto Gallery.

Used to be a decent place to buy a car. I bought a car here once and it was a predictable used car experience. But be careful going now - the son of the owner (Chris Bouman) is adamantly anti vaccine. Be cautious during this surge of covid cases and take precautions to protect your health!

I have bought several cars, more at the entry-level, from Bouman over the years. I've mostly delt with the father and son team, and have never been rushed into any decision. In fact, I like their laid back approach. When I wanted to test drive a car, they just hand me the keys. I value the trust factor. While in my dealings, they didn't offer a guarantee after purchase, but the safety report left in the dashboard of their cars told me most of what I needed to know. Mr. Bauman told me that if the car has problems in the first couple weeks after purchase, I can bring it back to have it fixed, etc. They offer a gentleman's handshake, which aged 50+ as I am, I appreciate. The cars we've purchased have served my family well for years after the sale. So, if you want help when you ask for it, rather then a used car salesman schtick, you value good cars well priced, and a handshake that means something, then you should check out Bouman motors.

These guys sent me out for a test drive with an empty tank so I couldn't go far .gave em 3600 $ lasted until the warranty was up .it was the worst experience I've ever had buying a vehicle !

No pressure sales! Walked on the lot, looked at the vehicle, asked for the keys and took the car for an hour test drive. These guys let you come to them. Paperwork was upfront, Walter and Doug were upfront about the vehicle's history and in the end a deal was struck. Thank you for awesome service and won't hesitate to recommend your business.

I was really impressed with these guys. Their inventory contained a number of low-mileage cars which were reasonably priced. Sales staff were forthright about the car I was buying and they walked me through their vehicle inspection report and carfax, and let me keep copies when I purchased the vehicle. It is a second-generation family-owned business, as I learned, with the owner often on-site, which made me feel confident that they could be trusted if something went wrong. As it happened, I soon ended up having problems with the vehicle (which were later revealed NOT to have been Bouman's fault - a brand new part they had installed during their own inspection proved to be faulty from the part's manufacturer, which Bouman could not have known). Even though they were under no obligation to assist me, I let them know about the problems I had encountered and offered them the chance to resolve my concerns. They immediately agreed to do so and went beyond what I would have expected, paying not only for a more expensive replacement part, but also the labour for installation (at a rather pricey rate, too). I never write reviews, but these guys were under no obligation to help me and yet they did the right thing and took care of me and for that they deserve considerable credit.

Either incompetent or downright liars. The salesperson jacked the price of a vehicle by 10 % after after the deal was complete saying that he had made a mistake in the agreed upon price. Avoid at all costs.

Perhaps updating your website regularly could help save people money and time while they shop for a car. Didn't get an apology just an " oops I guess you should've called us first" Less than impressed and won't be spending my $$ there.

Dear anyone looking to buy a vehicle with Bowen Motors. I bought a Dodge 3500 from them and it’s given me nothing but problems. I’ve paid 20k for this truck, and I’ve now put close to 15k into it. Days after I bought it, the radio stopped working and I brought it in and was told “there’s nothing we can do.” My alternator and my batteries burnt out next. When I bought it the front end was shaky, and eventually gave in which costed 5,000$. And now the transmission went which is another 5,000$ for just a rebuild. I want to save anyone from going through what I did, find someone who actually puts research and makes sure that the vehicle is sale worthy before selling. Do NOT buy from here.

Bought my 2005 CRV here in August 2019. They allowed me to take the vehicle to my own mechanic to get everything checked out and found no issues. The owner and the salesman were honest and friendly and gave me a fair price. They also detailed the car for me. After having the vehicle for about 3.5 months, I still have no issues with it and love it!

Sold me a 2006 Nissan Xtrail. Engine failed after 1 month and the service recalls were not complete. I am now in the process of having the engine replaced. Prior to that I spent 1600 on various other repairs like a valve gasket replacement on the failed engine.

We had a bizarre experience with Bouman Motors. We were ready to buy a nice looking SUV but for an independent Prepurchase Inspection. Strangely, Chris and his “boss” had a disagreement with our mechanic and both sides claimed the other had been rude. Bouman Motors refused to allow our mechanic to inspect the vehicle, claiming he would lie and give a negative report. The sale was lost. Beware of stubbornness that blinds all reason. We definitely won’t be back!

I tried to buy cars in this store twice. They have a quite diversified inventory, regarding models and prices, which is great. However, first time that I was there I could find something that would fit my budget; therefore, let's say or was a personal viewpoint. The second time I went to this store I was wondering to do a trade in. They were friendly and open to buy my car. Unfortunately, they weren't fair regarding pricing my car. In fact, it was a kind of insulting offer. So, we didn't come up with a deal. =-(

I’m not sure why the negatives for this auto lot. Just bought a car here and found it very hassle free and very down to earth salesman/owner. Greeted me and we went through the car in detail, some flaws were observed and he corrected it the best he could bu adjusting the price or the option to have it fixed. I opted for the price reduction since I wanted to do it myself. Courteous and really just down to earth and fair. Thank you Walter and the car lot attendant for picking me up!!

Went here over the weekend to help my friend purchase his first car. Although I have never dealt with Bouman Motors before, I have dealt with many new and used dealers over the years. I found the selection of vehicles quite varied and the price points very diverse. There really is something for just about everybody here. The vehicle quality was fairly hit and miss though I must say, so I'd suggest taking the time to look at a few different vehicles before settling on one. We were able to find a vehicle quite easily. A car within his budget with quite low kilometers, very clean and well maintained. The son (of this father/son team) is who we mainly dealt with and although not overly personable, he was easy/laidback to deal with and forthcoming with the carfax and inspection reports. Both him and the father were very low pressure and not at all pushy, something I have never experienced while dealing with a used dealer which was very refreshing. My friend is very interested in learning to drive a manual transmission car, but has not yet fully learned, and the son was totally understanding of the situation and allowed me to test drive the car with my friend as passenger. All in all, the process from start to finish was very easy, quick, understanding and we experienced ZERO pressure. The son was also very open to negotiating the price down a little bit on a car that was already priced fairly reasonably to begin with given the Make, Model, Year, KM's and Condition. Bonus that the lady they have doing their insurance is very knowledgeable, friendly, and also very helpful. She was patient enough to thoroughly field every question my friend had regarding the insurance process and policies as this is his first time dealing with them. Pleasantly surprised by this dealership and after our experience, I would definitely recommend this dealer. And my friend is very happy and totally excited with his first vehicle purchase.
