Took too long and cost too much for a 10min. Fix. Unlocking a used replacement radio for a 2007 Impala should not cost an hour in labour. I’m an electronics technologist and an avid DYI mechanic that can do this radio reprogram in less than 10min. If special equipment was not required.. Once a car is beyond warranty we should not be required to goto the dealer to use the tech2 scantool to perform a basic repair. No one steals factory radios after a couple years anyways because there’s lots of them in the junkyard

When I met the service representative, i have told him the only thing need to do with my car is refilling the AC refrigerant. But the Rep insisted to diagnose the whole cooling system and then told me need to replace the pipe line and that will charge me $600 after leaving me wait a hour. It obviously not need to do the replacement. So I refused it. After charging me 100 bucks for the diagnosis, I drove my car to another garage, the technician told me my car only needs to refill some refrigerant just like I told the dealer Rep. I am a loyalty customer of MacDonald before, but how can you let your customer continue trust you if you always try to cheat your customer like this? Sucks.

Excellent customer service. My car’s transmission was staring to slip and I called to see about getting it fixed. The Service guy Dylan took care of me. He called around and found out that my car was still under warranty! I had to drive it to the dealership to get repaired. He mentioned if any extra cost occur from the fix, Macdonalds GMC would cover the cost. While I would be without a car for a few days, Tyler was able the lend me a Cadillac SUV for the trouble. Big thanks to Dylan and Tyler for all the help.

Driving back home to Dartmouth from the US and blew a tire. CAA recommended these guys to get the tire fixed there, they were open to midnight. They also sell tires if the damage cannot be repaired. They were super friendly and quick.

Just a little disappointed this time. The problem had already been sent on my phone through the automatic reporting tool. I went to the service department thinking to make the appointment to replace a precise part. That's it. Instead it was only to to pay $113 to find out what we all already knew. So here I am having to return for a second appointment to change the very part we already knew was at fault and having to pay again. A bit disappointed unless someone can explain it to me.

I have always found at MacDonald Buick had better service than lounsbury's and they proved my point this time again. My car needed a sway bar link and Lounsbury's would not sell it to MacDonald Buick so it had to be ordered. Which was fine with me and when it came in they called me to make an appointment and had the part installed in less than half an hour. Great service and I would recommend bringing any GM product to them.

Follow-up to original review: Five weeks into ownership and I am even more impressed. This is the first time in my last 5 (dealer) vehicle purchases that the dealer/sales person has followed through on what they said they would do, and gone above and beyond. Irvin (my sales guy) replied to emails while on holidays in Mexico on a key fob issue which he had promised to provide. Everything was arranged when I showed up for the programming. Then, I realized the rocker panels were starting to rust a bit (GMC issue-nothing to do with dealer), but they still looked after me when technically, they were under no obligation. For once, I don't feel like I am no longer important once I have paid the dealer for the vehicle. Original review: No pressure sales, very reasonable prices (and I had researched the 2016 used truck I bought before and even more after I bought it to make sure I got a great deal). It was spotless when I picked it up as promised, full tank of fuel and they immediately looked after a bluetooth connection issue before I left. Audio system needed software update. Good payment options, well explained and no surprises or hidden costs. Would travel there to deal with them again as I live 2 hours away.

Bought a new 2020 GMC 2500 Denali. Had extras added to the truck like floor mats, window vents, and a tonneau cover. When I picked up the truck the first time nothing was put on. Took it back a second time the subwoofer I purchased was installed but nothing else. I thought that the third time they would get it right, no luck though. They just cancelled the parts and now won't call me back. Don't waist your money with these guys.

They are real rip-off artists, stay away!!! I am seeing so many of the reviews on google that are people talking about what a bad time they had. I wish I had checked earlier. I called a local garage and they suggested I come to dealer for work on my specific car, but anyone should have been able to do it I think. They say they changed fluids they did not change and charged me. I was in there late last week and have since had the friend of a co-worker look at my car and he said these guys lied about the work they did. I would leave zero stars if Google would allow me to do it.

I was able to take the used vehicle I was interested in to a garage and put it in a hoist, so I was sure of what I was getting into. This really impressed me, since it is an “as is where is” sale. I had peace of mind that I knew what I was getting into as far as repairs, and could make an informed decision. I had a bad experience here. My engine bonnet wouldn't open because the cable detached on the engine side. They said they fixed it "temporarily" with a piece of wire. When I got home, I found out the wire they said was a temporary fix wasn't even attached to anything. How are these people allowed to steal like this? They take over $250 dollars from me to not actually do anything? There needs to be regulation in this industry.

The experience was amazing. Not your typical "pressure sale" approach, and both buying stages we're incredible. The salesman showed us without making tacky pitches, giving us privacy, while making sure that any concerns or questions were answered. We were able to work out a deal with everything we needed to feel comfortable buying a new car. The second stage with financing was the most honest from other dealerships we'd worked with. I have a 2017 GMC Terrain which I bought new a couple of years ago. 4 days ago my front driver seatbelt broke of for no reason, I safety issue which I am worried about. I went to the dealer and they refused to put a new one at their cost. If someone have's an accident because of this. It would costs more than $399 in a lawsuit. So easy to say that I'm not happy with service.

3 weeks in, the transmission is gone, no parts available to repair. No help here, Thanks for the money pit. 2 weeks after trans repair... motor blows... and so does MacDonalds Pontiac... Save the money and the hassle... buy from Lounsburys or Seaside in Scouduc if you need a GM... otherwise stay far away. .... Edit because of dealer lies below..I did take it to a mechanic... all checked out... they cannot see a transmission internals or engine internals.There was also an inspected by Macdonald's sticker in the top left windshield which made me think they went over the car.. I called and gave them a chance to make this good... they refused...they will refuse you too and lie about it... guaranteed..Just look at the spin doctor they hired just to put spin on the complaints.. and kiss up to the lucky ones... Don't be fooled.

Best customer service ever. Bought a CPO SRX online from Irvin Hickey. Richard delivered it sameday. The negotiating was done via email and text. Irvin answered all my questions and continues to answer them. My experience has been phenomenal, no exaggeration. I genuinely feel my business is important to Macdonald's ,Irvin and Richard. Scheduling my appointment was seamless even though it was a last minute request and on the day of the appointment, I experienced courteous and prompt service. The service folks knew I needed my vehicle back at a specific time and ensured this happened. Didn't have a great experience. Took vehicle in to have winter tires taken off. Was told that I may need a wheel bearing. I took vehicle for a 2nd opinion by a licensed mechanic who told me that there is nothing wrong with the wheel bearing. Not a great experience. Customer Service Rep on pick-up was very Robotic. Problem was not detected or solution provided and was still charged $ 158.00?? Waited 10 minutes for them to find my keys... I have bought every truck from MacDonald Buick and will continue to do so but the Customer Service personnel need to be trained better especially with the long time customers... Peter Davis was amazing...he heard me out and will look for a solution for my problem. I am not sure what they wanted me to do at the end of the day, bring the vehicle to another garage to be fixed. The same issue with shuttering steering column happened at least 10 times on my way home?

Great place I purchased a car back in April 2021 and they have been exceptional. I got tires with the purchase and 2 free oil changes well last night I went in for oil change and was told I needed a coupon. Well I wasn’t given a coupon. They did the oil change anyway I was planning on getting my tires. At that time The service guys had no idea. About any of this. So they took my name and said someone would call me so 7 am this morning I got a call from there parts department. (Todd I believe)They located the tires and said I could get them anytime They also gave me an extra free oil change for the trouble. Needless to say I feel they are a great company and I would recommend them shout out also to Craig in the finance department.I had these 2 guys trying to straighten out this situation asap. And they did.

I bought a vehicle from MacDonald Buick and they called me in for a safety inspection less than a year after the purchase. This vehicle was used as a grocery getter for less than a year has had no issues at all. They took twice as long as they stated it would and then they claimed my vehicle needed over $1000 of work to be approved for the safety and of course none of it was covered under the extended warranty. I advised I was going to get a second opinion and they slapped a reject sticker on it when I still had over a month before the safety was due. I will never in my life use their service again.

I was not happy with my service... My truck is a 2018 gmc elevation with 55000km... Im still under warranty !!! When I purchased the truck, I installed a 4inch lift kit, upgrade my rims with 20 inches and Pro comp m+s lt305/55R20 tire . I did those upgrades with the dealership to make sure it was installed the right way and not affecting my warranty like they told me... I bought the truck at Lounsbury in Bathurst, trough a friend that’s was working there but I'am living in Dieppe so I took my truck close to me at Gmc in Moncton and they toll me im not under warranty because I installed bigger tire and have a lift kit... I feel because I didn’t bought the truck there I’m now well serve and that’s not OK... I fight with them and manage to pay 100$ to replace 2 front bearings but I should of paid 0$ Also they charge me 50$ to check a noise coming in the front... 150$ plus taxe and i still have warranty on my truck... I want to be refund im really not happy and will be in contact with gmc Canada

Paid $316 for alignment, road force balance of tires, and quick 0.5 hr check of steering wheel and chassis vibration ( including while braking) and supposedly 2 tires were out of balance and corrected however the vibration is worse overall than before all this; very disappointed. EDIT: I was told before picking up the vehicle, the LF wheel was bad and moved to the RR to help with vibs which has some flawed logic (the front has more to dampen vibs therefor this can make chassis vibs worse; it does not seem a road test was done to confirm). However, after this review I noticed sheet left from tech in car, and it was LF tire that could not be road force balanced, not the wheel (could have been offered a deal on 2 new tires if that would help but was not) amd was moved to LR, not RR as told. As for the braking vibration in steering wheel, it appears since there was no peddle sensation and the brakes are brand new, they did not bother to investigate further (maybe bad install or parts to check?) instead I paid $89 for 0.48 hrs of labour on this vibs diagnostic with no results and when questioned the price for the time involved, I was told "cannot charge less than that amount" essentially paying $180/hr. I have spend so much money on this car alone at this dealership since 2010 and I just do not seem to get the value for service anymore on anything but the most simple of services.

It was the worst experience I have ever had. Went in for an oil change and a safety inspection. Was told I needed a ball joint and that it would be one to one and a half hour. Was then asked if I wanted to wait or leave. Chose to leave and was told they would call when ready. So 2 and 1/2 hour later I called to find out what was going on. Was told they were about to start working on it. Was FINALLY done the work at 7:45pm. So if I had chosen to wait, I would of been there a total of 4 hours and 15 minutes. My appointment was at 3:30pm.

Ridiculous. 45$ for a 20$ bulb which takes all of 2 mins. We’ve taken both our vehicles in for service regularly and expected better. Sadly we won’t be back after this. Update - This has been handled by the service manager to my satisfaction. Upgraded to a 4 star review due to the promptness of the callback and resolution.

I started the process online and the majority of the process was via email as I was an out of the province buyer. My regular hours of work made the online method a little more convenient, however I did contact the sales rep by phone occasionally. The sales rep that I dealt with, Irvin, was by far the most accommodating and easiest guy I have ever dealt with when buying anything. He went above and beyond what is expected of a salesman and even came in on his day off to greet me when I went to pick up the vehicle. It wasn't just Irvin that left a lasting impression as I dealt with the parts department and they were equally as accommodating. I do not have one negative thing to say about the people that I dealt with and can only assume that this level of service runs through the entire dealership. Although a small gesture, the owner/manager even sent a personal letter of gratitude when I officially sealed the deal. I would recommend this dealership to anybody looking to buy and definitely recommend Irvin as their go-to person. I was informed by the staff at the service center that there was an existing Service Bulletin that may cover the cost of the repairs and after going through the monitoring program for a couple of months the repair was done at no cost to myself... Bought a used 2014 Nissan Suv from this dealership 4 months ago. Today it would not start. After having vehicle towed to a Nissan dealership, was determined that we were not receiving the recalls as the dealership did not switch the appropriate information over to my name. We therefore did not complete the preventative maintenance of changing the fuel pump as required. Called the dealership to figure out what was going on and was told rather impatiently there was nothing they could do as I did not buy a GMC from them. I am now on first day of summer leave with a newborn cancelling summer plans as I have no vehicle for a week! If you buy used or non GMC ensure that they hold true to their word and switch information from previous owner to yours or better yet call and do it yourself.

My initial experience was that I called to make an appointment to fix my vehicle, the man who answered told me to come on right away and they can actually get it fixed RIGHT AWAY. After I left work and got there. They sent me away because they were backed up...so I had to book an appointment. When I went back for my appointment, throughout the day I had to beg for a rental. I had meetings to attend at 4pm and made that clear to them at 9am. They told me I was going to get one in the early morning. It was now 1pm. I called them over 6 times during different hours of the day to secure a rental and I was always told "let me check and we will call you back" but was never called back. All to say, I missed my meeting, only had a rental at 4:45pm. The next day, I was then told my vehicle would be fixed the week after as a part was on order. We are now the second week and I never got another call (when will my vehicle be fixed... you know more than I do) Keeping you informed with truthful information is not their forte in my opinion and I did not appreciate their service. On that note. The 2 stars were for the shuttle driver, amazing guy and enjoyed my time with him. I hope they end up calling me to finish the job... but I can comfortably say, I will not go back unless I have no choice for a reason or another.

I was driving on Monday morning when I realized my wipers were no longer working, drove myself to the dealership and was fortunate to see Mike. I explained my situation and the fact that my boss was coming to town from Toronto and I needed my car to be working properly for the week. He asked if I was able to come in a two that afternoon and made me feel confident they would solve my issue. Brought my vehicle in to have a tire and oil change. When I purchased my lease I was told I had 4 free oil changes with my vehicle. Up until this point, I’d only used 2 of them. Went to pay for my bill and thought it was quite high for just a tire change and turns out the 4 free oil changes were only valid for 2 years, this was never told to me at the time, so I was unaware. The kicker is that I was one month off of the 2 year mark and they still didn’t honour the free oil change. Edited to add that since this visit, management was in contact with me and repaired the situation beautifully and I feel that the customer service experience from this point, met what I would expect and would recommend purchasing and servicing your vehicle here.

Had to have been the most awful experience I’ve ever heard from a car company. They sold me a Car the timing chain was going in. I got it home from Moncton to Perth and when I got it home heard the noise. They told me to take it to a mechanic which mine wasn’t good enough. Made me take it to toners in grand falls for them to tell them it was the same issue. I had to pay over $100 just for that! Then told me they weren’t going to pay to fix it to bring it back to Moncton. They have to be the most inconsiderate bunch I’ve ever had to deal with. Not only was I out $100 and some dollars I was out one day going to get the car two other days taking it to mechanics and another day taking it back to Moncton. Very bad place I wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy go to these people!!!

Great service and great people. I only recently started bringing my vehicle there for servicing and wouldn't bring it anywhere else. I never feel pressured to do something that I don't want to do and I always felt this way where I used to bring my vehicle. They would suggest things that was more expensive and then I would find out later that I actually didn't need it. I don't know much of what they are doing but I trust MacDonald and I'm thankful that they don't try to get more money out of me unless absolutely necessary because I'm on a tight budget. Point is, they are great and I always feel welcomed when I bring in my vehicle! ...Mike and the receptionist always make sure I'm taken care of!

We made an appointment for tire change and oil change for 10am on a Friday. We were promised a rental car because we were coming from out of town. When we arrived the rental was not available and further to that our car was in the shop for 6 hours. Which in our opinion is an unrealistic and unreasonable amount of time for 2 quick services. We are completely unsatisfied with the service. Upon calling the service manager we were informed that everyone gets an oil change when they arrive at the dealership and unfortunately we had to wait even though we had an appointment. So my question was why did we make an appointment!!! We bought the our vehicle because we were told we would get good service! Unsure whether they deserve another chance - time will tell! If service continues to be this poor we will neither purchase a car from you or have service from you. Booking appointment efficiently and good customer service is necessary to retain customers. Neither has been evident thus far!! Respectfully a first time customer!

I was disappointed to learn that my free oil changes had expired (June) when due to covid restraints on travel very few miles had been placed on the vehicle as recorded by oil life monitor. Some consideration should have be been given to the number of miles, not just the passage of time. Staff as usual were excellent My most recent experience was the worst in over 20 years of patronage to this company. I was contacted by MacDonalds to schedule an annual safety inspection. I arrived on time however when I was called to the desk after the work was completed I was advised that "oil change"was completed along with another item that I asked for upon arrival. I told the clerk i didn't ask for an oil change and that i wanted a safety inspection. I had to wait an extra hour and a half.

Bought a 2021 GMC Sierra a couple months ago. Brought it back to the garage 8 times or more in the last two months. They changed the cadillac converter and the engine light came on again. Brought it tuesday they game me a rental, said they didn’t know how long they would keep my truck. Called me the next day, said they didn’t know what was wrong. I have better things to do, than bringing my truck to the dealership twice a month.

Great friendly service, but one major issue: It was my first time there and I cannot fathom why a business of that size wants to save few dollars or cannot afford to put decent seats in the service waiting room. Flimsy and very uncomfortable chairs for service waits that are usually one hour or more? I have back problems which made it worse but still unacceptable for anybody. Please do a long term investment towards your customer comfort.

Service was fine, but I had an appointment with a simple oil change with a one hour turnaround and it was almost 2 hours before the car was available. Good interactions with staff but overall it seemed a bit disorganized, could not easily find my keys. The thing I really did not like was that they suggested I needed a new engine air filter, but I had just put one in myself 3 weeks earlier, so it obviously did not need one.

I had an appointment for 2:30pm Nov 6, dropped car off at 1:45pm, then came back at 4:50pm and car was still being worked on. Was informed that should only be 20 more minutes, so I waited. At 5:10pm was informed they were just cleaning up and would be done soon. At 5:45pm I went to ask if it was ready and they had to look for my keys as it was done but keys were placed back on the wall not the desk so I could have been there all night. This is the third or fourth time I've been treated like this and I WILL NOT BE BACK. Female Senior Citizen has been ripped off. I am writing this review for a friend and neighbour that has been taken advantage of by this dealer. Marsha took her 2007 Hummer H3 in to find the reason for the check engine light that was on. She received a call from service advisor Dillon, explaining that the engine needed to be replaced. She explained to him that she was a senior citizen as well as a woman and hoped that she wouldn't be taken advantage off. He offered 2 options, first a used engine with a 90 day guarantee with 250,000 km for $5000. Installed or tear down the engine in the vehicle to find the needed repairs, which he didn't recommend. She asked about a new or rebuilt engine and was told that they don't make them anymore. Marsha gave the go ahead for the installation of the used engine for $5000.on March 10, 2020. The next day she gets a call to say she needed a new exhaust manifold, the one on the used motor as well as hers were cracked, a additional charge of approximately $1500. My question here why did they not get the supplier of the used engine to supply a replacement. Keep in mind the cost for the used engine was $1500. why would they order a new one for $1500. Rather than get the supplier to replace the cracked one . She got a call on March 16, The Hummer was ready. She paid the invoice which had grown to over $8200., but was told it had a 90 day warranty. She started home which is less than 6 km., stopped for gas and started it up and the engine light was back on. She called the Service Adviser and was told to come back, the mechanic checked it over and determined the replacement engine had the same issues as the original. She was given a drive home. The next day she received a call advising that she would need to have her original engine rebuilt, that it was clean and in better shape than the used one. The cost approximately $5000. but they would give a credit of approximately $1500. for the used engine. What do you do, you feel you are in the middle of a Scam, you have already spent over $8000 and they are asking another $3500. This is for a 2007 Hummer that would probably be worth $6000. Why was she trying to keep this vehicle on the road? Well her husband had passes away several years ago and there is a lot of attachment to it. She contacted her lawyer and his suggestion was to try to negotiate with the dealership and if she is not satisfied to take them to small claims court. I sent a email to the owner Scott Langin to explain our concerns and didn't receive a reply. I called the Service Manager Jennifer Agnew several times and she said she would try to get a credit from the supplier of the used engine and see what she could do on their behalf. Well guess what MacDonald Buick opened their big hearts and gave her a $400. credit on the final invoice of over $12,000. I have recently checked and found rebuilt and new engines that will fit a Hummer H3 for $2500. to $5000., apparently this same engine is used in other vehicles. Thank you for reading this, hopefully you will not get ripped off like this. Stay safe and healthy.

Bargain Bin is literally a joke. Most their trucks were in much TLC and insanely overpriced. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere, especially for trucks. Trucks in inventory, were very rusted all around, tires always flat, rocker panels needing repair, yet were priced at $9,000 - $20,000. Not sure what bargain you would ever find with the selection and prices they have.

Worst service I've ever experienced. Staff was very rude and ignorant in the collision center. My requests were ignored after asking 3 separate times to have specific work done to my vehicle. I should also mention they've had my vehicle 3 weeks now and have attempted to return it to me unfinished and without test driving it first. Strongly recommend staying away from here if you want your vehicle back in a timely manner, and dont bother explaining what problems your vehicle is having, they'll just ignore you and do what they want anyways.

I dealt with another car company I won't name, after 3 weeks of dragging their heels, I decided to go back to MacDonald Buick, and after a couple days Peter and Chris had everything taken care of and I was in my new car. Best service around in my opinion.

I have purchased two new vehicles from MacDonald GMC and have regular service done and have not had any issues, in fact the service was one of the reasons I went for the second one from them even though I live over 2 hrs away. My last service (oil change) was on Wed Dec 19. At that time I was asked if I wanted to have the multi point inspection done at which time they check more than the regular MV inspection, top up fluids, air etc and is more of a check to ensure something is not going to go wrong in the near future. Cost in area of 39.00. I agreed. I was later alerted that the air filter was dirty (showed it too me and I agreed to have it replaced at a cost of 38.00) I was then informed that there would be a 28.00 service fee to replace the filter. !!! The mechanic takes it out to check, if it is ok he puts it back in the hole/cover on and no charge. If he puts a clean new filter in at my cost of 38.00 they want me to pay a service fee of 28.00 for him to set it in instead. This matter was argued and I had the opportunity to speak to the service manager as well as the shop foreman. I was upset and still am that this practice exists and customers are paying stupid unwarranted fees. If the mechanic has to remove extra items once the inspection reveals an issue and the customer agrees then certainly a labor fee is warranted, however, no fee was added to put air in my tire, or top up fluids. I had the opportunity to speak my mind and voice my concern immediately to the persons who should be available to customers and the matter was dealt with to my satisfaction. As a result I rated the service as very good and appreciated the opportunity to be heard.

Our dome lights and front passenger lights somehow by accident got hit and we could not find the switch to turn them off. With help from the front receptionist to another person coming over and found out our problem so we only had to say, how much we felt like idiots for not finding the switch after an hour or so of searching. Anyway glad to have the problem solved before we left the truck.

I pulled in around 9:05 and was done at 9:35. I was pleased with the speedy service. However, when I left, my low washer fluid warning came on. I always thought fluid top-ups were part of a service, just like adjusting tire pressures, etc Not a big deal but the little things count too.

Went to get a used car had my truck apraissed. Sales associate made mistake on mileage so because of that I lost the chance to get a car. So now I don't have the car i wanted and also have a hit on my credit. So will not be going back.

Do not buy anything second hand - we bought a 1997 Citation trailer from them last year - salesperson said everything worked and it was in good shape to his knowledge. When it came to inspect it - it was full of mold, ants and termites costing over $3500.00 in repairs. When we called them about it, they would not do anything to help us out. Buyers beware and don't take your business to them. Don't know how they sleep at night....
