We've bought 3 cars and recently was the 2013 Dodge Caravan from this dealership and we never had any problems with the engine, transmission etc or any mechanical parts. Asmat gives us a better offer every time we buy car from him, he also gives us discounts for the extended warranty as well as for the undercoating. We really trust this dealership and they'll do everything for you if ever you need to repair something on your car. I highly recommended this dealership to buy a used car. Most of the cars they sell have low mileage and always provided the full carfax report. They never hide anything and always reliable.

Full of lies and everything word they said was completely false. These guys lie while looking in your eye with a smile on it. This business need to be shut down no Integrity at all. They deal their customer like buying junk in a 3rd world country no integrity in the process of a transaction. All the 5 star reviews you see is from them or their family n friends and the first review is from Asmat Ghafoori who's the owner of the business who have a big problem speaking the truth because anything comes out of his mouth is a lie. My story: I recently came to Toronto from Vancouver I was still searching for a job so I though of buying a fairly new car to drive Uber on it. I searched around and bought a 2015 Corolla from them at $10k accidental with a clean title manual transmission. After one week the front bumper came out while driving I talk to them they said just push the bumper in and everything thing will be ok which it never happen. I went to a local body shop and they inform whosoever worked on the car did a really bad job. I paid $11,500 cash for the car and got problems nothing more. Also when the transaction was done they gave me a sales receipt where they wrote that they sold me the car for $7500 in order to give less money to the government though they took the whole tax money from me. Please if you respect your money it's worth to pay a little more but buy from a respectable dealer who care for their customers. Don't copy me to try saving a few hundred risking your thousands.

Purchased a used RX-8 here and although there were some minor issues before buying with the spark plugs, tail light, radio display, climate knob, battery, etc. Asmat, who came off as friendly and responsive fixed these issues and assured me the car was certified and in working order. A few days in the battery was failing, so thankfully he replaced it. However, within a month and only a few hundred KMs the car was leaking oil on the driveway and the Check Engine light was on. After having the car inspected by a trusted master technician at Mazda, the car was found to have catastrophic problems relating to the oil and transmission, needing dozens of new parts and over two days of labour to fix. He was generous enough to refund $3,000 of the $4,600 I paid for the vehicle, but after glancing over all his other vehicles on the lot and seeing the derelict shape they’re in and tacky spray paint jobs, I won’t be returning to Gardiner Motors any time soon.

Car was advertised as fully functional and the post even said "available for a test drive". I called head to inform them that I was coming to test drive the car. When I arrived, the car wouldn't even start, battery was dead and the trunk wouldn't open either. How hard is it to make sure that the cars you have listed as "available for a test drive" can actually be driven? It's the ONLY requirement. I don't understand how low your standards have to be to not even check whether your cars can function or not. The whole place looks like a trash yard to boot, absolute waste of time.

Went to go see a few cars that I really loved on Car Gurus. I highly recommend against this place. I did my research read my reviews and thought this place would be amazing, complete opposite. I arrived and the whole hour I was on the lot not ONE person came to ask if we’re okay if we need anything, we had to go up to a man and he told us everything is online when really half of them weren’t. They were only going around helping their kind of people. After walking around for about an hour looking at all the different cars I narrowed it down to THREE cars that i liked and waited 10 minutes outside their office to ask for someone to help service me and yet again their people just walked in ahead of me and I had to wait. As my first time experience buying a car it was a waste of my time completely. And all of their cars stink like cigarette and dog/cat. Came all the way from Toronto to get this TERRIBLE customer service.

Good friendly people. I didn't buy from them but explored the cars they had in stock. None met my criteria. They have oldish cars.. 5+ years old. They do clean and repair cars on site before selling. It's a small lot with lots of cars.. Some fixed, some yet to be fixed. In the same corner lot, there are 2-3 more used car dealers. So in one visit u can check inventory of all of them. I will visit them again after sometime if I don't find what I am looking for.

Drove 20 minutes to test drive a car. Called them right before leaving, they're like "Sure! come on over". By the time I reached the car was sold. A minute ago apparently. I understand that can happen but they didn't seem the least bit sorry that I drove all the way there for nothing. Didn't even even care to offer alternatives. Guy was busy on his computer. They had like a 1000 cars there. I'm sure some of them would have been of interest to me. But having read all the "real" 1 star reviews on here I guess I dodged a bullet. CALLED 2 HOURS IN ADVANCE TO SEE A VEHICLE AND IT WASN'T READY, IT WAS STUCK IN THE SNOW AND WASN'T STARTED. WAITED OVER 1 HOUR ONLY TO FIND OUT THE ADVERTISED (4 X 4) ON THE TRUCK DID NOT FUNCTION. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.(0 STAR) This dealership is trying out a new business strategy. "Be rude to the customer and make a sale". I called Gardiner Motors to enquire about a 2011 Hyundai Genesis. The average fuel consumption of that particular car was showing as 99.9 litres/100kms (in one of the photos) while in google it shows the standard should be around 20 litres per 100kms. I wanted to know whether it was some error. The person who answered my call told me that its how the previous driver used it. I understood his point ( unbelievable though). After that he was really rude and told me forget that car is in market and look for something else. I didn't want to talk to him at this point. So I said okay and was wishing him a good day. Unfortunately, he hanged up on me before I finished. I know you will have excuse for this but I should have trusted the other 1 star reviews. To anyone who is gonna do business with these people. All the best. This is my pre-sales experience. I can't even imagine the post-sale havoc.

BUYER BEWARE was talking to a worker first who was nice and understanding, but the owner came out and had a word about the condition of the tires which would have have to be replaced in order to pass safety. Very little tread and the owner was saying how they WOULD pass safety regardless. On top of several other things his attitude was disgusting. Selling unsafe cars which would be ticketed if taken on the streets. Watch out!

“This dealership is a fraud. I bought the car. Paid for it with my MasterCard. I got charged extra percentage because I was using my MasterCard. Picked the car up almost two weeks later. Had to return back the car the next day because I found out from my mechanic that the steering wheel was about to come off. The engine was shaking like crazy. Heavy noise kept coming out from the car. Right when I called the guy back the same day. He started being rude. Asking me what they except them to do for me. They did their safety. They still owe me a balance back. But they are refusing. I have decided to report them to omvic because this dealership shouldn’t be allow to have their license. I should have read their reviews more. Because they have bad reviews. Will continue reporting them to omvic. Gardiner priced our sons new car properly versus the market. ONLY if it were as promised - certified. We never saw the safety certificate that they used to license it, but they must have presented one to the Ministry to be able to plate it / license it for when we picked it up. I do not believe they were honest when certifying it. They informed us of evidence of a leak on the valve cover. They replaced the brakes in order to make it road worthy They cleared the error codes and told us that the transmission fluid need to be replaced according to the codes. They did not replace the rotted emergency brake and so could not have passed it as it did not have a working parking brake. They certified it with studded winter tires (illegal in Mississauga where they operate and illegal where we live) which actually had 3/32 of tread left - only 0.3813 mm greater than the reject limit The trouble is, the issues we found were brought to light after the 36 days of time the certification would be valid so we feel that we could not go back to the dealer to have them fixed. For a $5000 car, we have now paid well over that amount making it roadworthy again, and there are more nuisance issues remaining. Buyer beware - ask for a third party safety inspection or to take it to your own garage for the inspection before buying. Do not let this dealer certify it themselves.

In February 2020, I bought a grey 2011 VW Tiguan for $8,500 (tax and registration included). During the sale, Asmat (owner) waxed lyrical about how great the car was and insisted I brought it back ANYTIME there was an issue. 2 days later, first issue was with the washer fluid pump which he reluctantly replaced. The following week, check engine light came on- he erased it and said a change in weather was responsible, the next day it came back on- I called to inform him, he flipped and said that it was my problem. I went to his dealership and met his mechanic who in his absence erased the light and said same thing. 7 months later (Last week Thursday) car broke down. A separate mechanic confirmed engine was gone and it will cost me close to $6,000 to replace it. It took the intervention of the COPs for Asmat to purchase the car back from me for $1500. STAY AWAY FROM GARDINER MOTORS. P.S: I soon realized that the COPs are there every week to settle one issue or another.

I went to take a look at a car I liked, they said I could test drive it. It didn't start, they brought a jump starter and said I should keep it with me while test driving it, I came to first traffic light and car died on the middle of the road, I had to wait them 20 minutes to arrive since it was something else(didn't start anymore)I had to walk back to dealer.. They first said starter is bad then changed it to battery. Then I saw a engine light. I lost my hope about the vehicle. After taking a look at other cars, salesman got little unhappy with my interest. I wanted some time and discuss with my family for my first car purchase, told them I will give you a call tomorrow, salesman came right behind me , he was so mad and disrespectful, he said gtfo my place never come again etc. He kicked me out of his place. Funny thing is I didn't even raised my voice a single time for what happened with their first car. However I just left thr place without further conversation, wish I was able to record whole situation, don't ever waste your time. 0 reliability 0 customer service 0 respect 0 stars

Saw a posting for a vehicle on CarGuru and called to make sure it was still there, told them I would be by later that afternoon to take a look at it. Went to look at the car, it was full of trash and dirt and smelled of stale smoke (which the ad said it was a smoke-free car). Could have overlooked the overall dirtiness of the car (cars can be vaccuumed after all) but did not even go inside to talk to the dealer since the ad lied about the condition of the car. Would have been willing to look around the lot at other cars but I had a bad taste in my mouth and figured if they lied about something so insiginificant as cigarette smoke, what else would they lie about/hide? Very hard to see the lot from the road, cars are packed in and just overall it was disorganized and awkward. I would look somewhere else if you can.

I wasn't even notified that it was stolen , it wasn't until I called to see what was taking so long for it to be certified was I then told the vehicle was stolen. Bad customer service!...I sent a message through the Gardiner Motors website asking if a particular vehicle in their inventory had ABS and tire pressure monitoring...the response I was given was "not sure sorry"...the proper good customer service response should've been "not sure sorry but I'll find out and get back to you"...the other thing I've definitely noticed is that all the vehicle ads have similiar wording, I think a lot of copying and pasting happens, lol, very 'showy'.

Drove a 4 hour road trip and missed work just to check out a truck they said had nothing wrong with it and was completely rust free. When I arrived to check the truck out I found out there was lots of bondo used and the rockers had been covered with a pretective tape. When I looked user the truck and behind the tape, everything was completely rusted out, rockers were bent and falling apart, box had a hole in it and the frame was absolutely covered in rust and parts we starting to go, there was even some surface rust on the side of the box. Wouldn't have been that bad if they would have told me, but they lied and and tryed to charge me 10000 for it.

I was unable to get my mechanic to do a pre-inspection before the sale. I bought a car it was sold to me safety certified I requested a copy of the safety certificate and the dealer did not produce it. The car seemed like it was in great shape so I went ahead with the purchase. Now as soon as I brought my car to my mechanic when he was available he noticed a few minor things that would not have passed safety. Whomever it was that safety failed to notice that the drive belt had a huge hole in it and my driver side wheel had some play in it which would require a tie rod to remedy the problem. In other words whomever did the safety inspection either failed to notice it or passed a safety knowing full well that it would not pass the ministry safety inspection standard. The total repair bill my mechanic quoted me for parts and labor was $440 to fix all the minor issues. Issues being: Driver side Inner Tie rod Rear brake pads Drive belt *note for some reason the dealer had all new rotors installed but only put new pads in front the rear pads were so thin it was almost bear metal.* I was stupid enough not to wait for my mechanic to inspect it but I put my trust in this dealership that had great reviews and I should've had a pre-inspection done.

Absolutely worst place ever....even though they say on their website the car is certified they are not untill you actually buy the car. So they take the car for 3 day fix up what they can and hide all other problems. The car sales man treated me horribly after I said I really liked the car and wanted to take it 2 blocks away to have a mechanic take it for a quick ride. He told me I was wasting his time (after only being there for about 20mins) and that the car didn't need to be looked at by another mechanic. That I should just trust why he's telling me. CROOKS WITH FAKE REVIEWS. I saw their ad on kijiji for a 2015 Dodge. Like any buyer I went to check their reviews. While I was checking I kept on seeing new reviews posted one after the other today. At least 10 in 1 day. Some were 5 minutes apart. Many were referring to warranty and not the purchase of a vehicle. Turns out these REVIEWS ARE FAKE! They purchased reviews to boost their ratings. Don’t sort by new just sort by 1 star reviews when checking out a company. I have reported this to Google. If you really want your business to be successful then treat your customers well. Stop selling lemons and unfit vehicles that you pay to pass certification. If you have an issue with this company after purchasing a vehicle just report them to OMVIC and turn to social media. They’ll learn to stop the bad business practices.

This was honestly the worst experience of my life in my 6 years living in Canada . My first car was an old Honda too practise and then came too a point where I wanted too upgrade too something new so I went too this guys in the beginning everything seemed nice and they were all polite besides the owner whose a complete sexist . Anyways I fell in love with a 2012 Mini Cooper and besides some cosmetic issues that we had agreed on they promised the car would come in great conditions mechanically . After they safety it I took it home and I noticed that when the car warmed up it started shaking on idle and the engine light came on so the car has a misfire And I only had that car for an hour . But anyway that’s another story the cars they sell are not reliable and trustworthy they don’t care about the stress you are going through because of them. Also they will send it too a mechanic they say they will pay for it but in the end they want you too pay for half of it after warning them I would sue them then he said he would pay it . I come home the car is the same still shaking and engine light came on again . I got my own reports on Canadian tire and from my mechanic and they all said that the misfire was coming from a non working cylinder when I took it back too their mechanic they said they needed a couple more days so i left the car there then I called them and he tells me that he can’t fix it because he doesn’t know if the guy wants too pay for it so my car stayed there 2 days parked and nobody told me . When I picked up the car he came home with 3 different lights that before weren’t there . Still shaking . With no gas I sent it almost full . With traces of marijuana . And with more km then supposed too. So they tricked me and their mechanics that they sent me too they also tricked me . Then I noticed they are just stalling me until the 60 days of the purchase expire. They don’t wanna deal with it. So now I’m dealing it with it on my own because I don’t trust them and I really don’t want any more cars from them or lose any more time with scammers. These people do not care about you they will only care about the payment after you paid they don’t wanna take responsibility for nothing they let you deal with a car they sold with issues if I wanted to buy a car with issues I would buy it private but I went too a dealership trusting the service would be better and in the end I ended up spending more then what the car is worth. In the end I’ve decided too let go because I can not take the stress anymore but before I move on with my life I wanted to let you guys know before you go and buy something from them don’t get impressed by false first impressions, take the car to your trusted mechanic ! On SEPT 9th /19 I had set an appointment to see a SUV located on there lot. All cars were assembled in a disorganized fashion, Maneuver around by foot was not appealing. From a view, fairly most of the cars did not look presentable to purchase on spot due to either minor Fixtures, smell the cars etc. This is false advertising! Their website, highlights car in polished condition and even stated that emission and safety is completed upon purchase. This is not the case seen in person to view a vehicle or purchase one. Their policy states: if a client is pleased with a car they are free to test drive with their licensed plate. It is recommended by the business partners that a client sets a down payment on the vehicle. It is only then, a safety and e-mission will commence. Of course this does not sound ideal to the CONSUMER, right? Through suspicion, I asked for my personal mechanic to have a second pair of eyes on this vehicle. I was told the car would shut down and was not stable enough to be driven. Secondly, the car facts highlights the vehicle had 5 previous drivers. The first 3 drivers had driven more than 156,000km but when I was coming to purchase this car today it states 179,000 km on the vehicle. It gets worst, when asked where the vehicle originally was purchased. This question was danced around to show more attention to it being from Toronto. Finally, when I received the car facts it was originally purchased in Quebec and then brought back to Toronto and then it’s last destination was Quebec. We all know that Quebec is notorious for changing the Kilometres on cars. - Honestly, this company is really dishonest and lacks ethical competence when dealing with clients. Everyone’s experience is different for sure. As a business owner myself, it was sad how such auto companies can take advantage of people if you don’t Ween out these Fraudulent traps.

Few things need to be fixed he promised to do all it need day before I pick up the car I stopped by he told me it’s all fixed when I check and took for drive nothing fixed. We recently purchased a 2008 Mazda 3. Upon picking it up on a Saturday after being certified it was very loud (it was not like that when we test drove it). Drove it right back and they put it on hoist, and a hole patch it the muffler had came off. They gave us 2 choices. Drive another car home and they would get the work done and we would come back to get it on the Monday. As we are 2 hours away and my wife dealing with stage 4 cancer we did not want to do that. They accommodated us by then giving us the choice of having the work done here in Peterborough. Their only 2 requests were try and find a reasonably priced place, as they have there own repair shop, and to have the invoice in there name and they would e-Transfer money. We were kind of thinking we might get screwed.....but upon sending an email of the receipt the money was immediately transferred. Then......last Sunday the rear mount and strut broke. They said to get CAA to bring it to them. Again as what my wife is going thru and we couldn't afford CAA they had us get quote here. They said the quote was too high and they would only cover part. I understood why as again they get deals of their own on parts and labour. In them telling us that we got 3 other qoutes/ all lower. They e-Transfer almost all of the cost. In saying this. During Sunday and today my wife's cancer has spread. Both myself Verne and my wife Kathy would like to thank Gardiner motors for everthing????

Buyers beware! The car I bought from here is a lemon. After getting the car, the warning lights went on when driven on the highway 3 days later. Their own mechanic said they may have manipulated the warning lights to stay off. After having it certified by my own mechanic they found 5 safety issues which I had to fight for them to fix. Now the car has new problems. My advice is to just go to a reputable dealership. Stay away from these places if their office is a trailer. Btw, the service is sketchy.

Never. Again. The sales person was nice but the owner/manager Asmat is the WORST. Bought my first car in mid October (little more than a month ago) but couldn’t even drive it until about 3 weeks ago because my brakes failed AND my emergency brake was broken. And yes I bought the car safety certified, supposedly but obviously not. Called the owner, he rudely and reluctantly said he’d fix it if I brought it to him but I live in Toronto and didn’t trust his mechanic to properly fix it, and after reading the REAL reviews, good thing I didn’t. This resulted in multiple fights on the phone and I ended up telling him I was gonna fix it myself. Afterwards he said he would pay for HALF of the repairs and that was after I threatened to complain to the ministry and him THREATENING to block me (he didn’t even end up paying half, instead only a third of the cost). I was driving the car for about a week before realizing I didn’t have proper brakes, my emergency brake was also broken so that could’ve been potentially fatal had I been driving when they failed. Asmat didn’t even take responsibility for selling me a faulty car and unsafe car and continued to say he’d fix it yet wanted me to pay a $100 towing fee... Worst experience ever, so much negligence and such a lack of responsibility

Went in looking for my first car. They are extremely sexist towards girls, as when I told the guy if I could get it checked by my mechanic he got extremely defensive and said “what’s the difference between your mechanic and mine” and started talking down to me exclaiming that I didn’t trust him. However when my dad was talking to him, he was all ears and respectful. Also, I had a list of questions that my friend made me to ask when buying a used car, one of them being “is the car driven by one owner/multiple?”. When I asked it, he said “what do you think? It’s 2006 obviously it’s not one owner” with disgust written on his face and just being overall disrespectful, I just needed straight yes and no answers. When I brought up the mechanic again I explained that it had nothing to do with him but that it is my first car and that I am taking a risk trusting him since I just met him and that I didn’t know his mechanic and just felt more comfortable with mine, he again started acting really sketched and defensive while raising his voice. So one can assume there was something wrong with the “certified” car he was selling. Afterwards he told me he wouldn’t sell the car for me at any price and bragged how he made 100, 000 selling cars and didn’t need me and proceeded to walk away.

Fixed price. There is 2% service charge if paid by credit card! Told day before that car is ready and told come to pick up. Next morning on the way called and told car not ready. When got there told us will take two more hours! We paid extra for rust proofing and i noticed wheel wells are not done. When mention told me to take your money back, we are asking too much. So far very rude service and late delivey.Deliverd after 2 hrs. Did not do touch ups and the noise in the engine... one of the pully water pump alterntor bearing keep making noise. My friend did not want to confront the owner of Gardiner motors and we left the dealer. Rude and poor service. Update Yesterday 7/13/2021 the water pump broke which was making bad noise when we took the car on 6/26/2021. Part of the deal was to fix the loud bearing noise but did not fix! Called Said no warranty sold the car as is but the ownership was registered by the dealer. All I want to say make sure what you are getting into and have everything in writing need fixing. Buyer be aware!!!!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Unbelievable that in a country like Canada, and in a city like Toronto, people like these are allowed to run a business. The guy at the desk was SO RUDE. My friend and I took a 2013 Hyundai Sonata for a test drive. We did not have many complaints over the car but my friend and I intended to ask a few simple questions that a Car Dealership Rep should know. We were not there to buy tomatos or potatos, we were there to buy a 7k Car, and we are supposed to ask as many questions, relevant to the car, as we wish. If you don't know the answer, politely say you don't know the answer. But this terrible guy, with zero customer service skills and probably zero education on how to speak to people, lashed out at us!!! My friend and I were speechless. We were respectful and calm during the entire conversation - just like any civil person should be. We simply asked for some clarifications on what kind of tests are gonna be done for the safety certifications. But he misbehaved terribly. Clearly he was hiding something. Thank God we did not do any business with this terrible person at this terrible dealership. He is so arrogant that he is even replying to people here in the reviews with all of his arrogance and his hideous behaviour. BEWARE PEOPLE. ALL THE NEGATIVE REIVEWS MAKE COMPLETE SENSE TO ME NOW. THE AUTHORITIES SHOULD ACTUALLY TAKE A DEEPER LOOK INTO THIS PLACE TO SEE IF SOMETHING SHADY IS GOING ON.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! I bought a car in the beginning of September and am still dealing with this dealership (It's October 16). They sold me a car that was broken, which they claimed to be in great condition. Within two days, the engine light turned on and the car started making a lot of noise. I took it back to them TWICE to be fixed. The second time I brought it back, they took a week to fix it.. Everyday I called and he said it would be ready "tomorrow". Do you really need a week to fix a car? If it was that broken then why did you sell it to me in the first place??? I'm not sure how they passed the car's safety inspection. When I took it to my mechanic, it failed safety. Save yourself the disappointment. It was such a hassle communicating with Asmat, not to mention the arrangements I had to make to go to work without my car for a week.. So disappointing.

I bought a car a while ago and had it saftied and certified but not even 50 km into the trip on the way home my airbag light came on, then before I even got through the first tank of gas my engine light came on. Owner is nice, but the sales guy is the worst! He’s so rude, no customer service skills. They sold me a car that was clearly not safetied correctly and when I called to rectify it i got nothing but attitude. I wouldn’t trust any cars they sell and i do not trust them to correctly fix my car. Would never recommend. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE.

Asmat is a crook I bought a Ford escape from him that broke down after 2 weeks he did fix it that time then a week later it broke down again I fixed it then 2 days later again after talking to him I was told to in his words call ontario as I had informed him there is intact a lemon law in ontario as to used cars I will be taking him to court go elsewhere please don't waste your time and money

Brings a whole new level to sleezy car dealers! If you choose to purchase a car from this dealership make sure you have your own machanic look it over with a fine tooth comb from top to bottom. If anything needs to be fixed they purchase used parts not new like they tell you and the quality of work is well below subpar! Get everything and I mean everything in writing...cause they will look you in the eye and lie to your face. Without a doubt a sleezy dealer!!

I called asked if they could help said they would fix but the price was more than any mechanic had offered. Problem is they make money off the terrible cars they sell them make more money off fixing them when people have issues
