Owning two huskies my truck desperately needed a detail. I legitimately felt bad dropping it off as is. Kyle the service manager in service got me booked in within 48 hours. Dylan in service was great to deal with as well. Morgan their detailer did an absolutely incredible job on my truck. You’d never know I had two white/grey huskies with all black interior. I will definitely be back to get my vehicles detailed! Beyond happy with my clean and customer experience!

Brought my car in for an oil change a year ago and the guy came out halfway through and gave me a $2000 list of repairs my car needed. Skip to today: brought my car in for recall work. One simple item to replace. It took longer than they told me, and as I was waiting for my car to be done the guy comes out with a DIFFERENT $2500 list of repairs that I needed, none of the previous items had been "found" this time. Which I found odd because I never even bothered to address the fake repairs they tried to push on me during my previous visit. I just wanted my recall work done, not to be brought a random list of repairs. kinda get the vibe that they push their employees to gouge customers unnecessarily.

They are a great team and genuinely enjoy what they do Bought my vehicle just before the storm hit and was driving through the storm with ease ♡! AWD, warm seats, warm steering wheel, and remote start ! I was the go to for a safe ride from friends/coworkers. Comfortable, happy, and safe kids :,) not a whole lot more I could ask for. Well worth the purchase as buying is never an easy decision for me on my budget as a single mom. When taking vehicles to dealerships I am sure most people have a bit of anxiety because they are not sure if the people there can be trusted. Are they going to treat my vehicle problem or find something new to increase the amount I spend? Are they going to try to upsell me everything they can do to my vehicle. Not here! +I purchased a 2013 Rogue from Sun Valley last June. It was to be detailed, but it was the sloppiest job ever, and information concerning the remainder of the warranty, info on the remote start etc was never ever received. When I spoke to the salesperson, he just shrugged and that was it. Very disappointing. I suggested that if he wants to be successful, he should be calling his customers to followup, and fix anything that is a complaint. He showed me his list that he calls, and when I asked him to show me how often he had called me-back into the drawer it went! I love my Rogue, but I will never go back to Sun Valley once I have used my oil change coupons.

Our 2007 Odyssey was a great vehicle, reliable and economical (yes it’s a mini van and economical) just what a growing family needed. Only major concern was the sliding doors would have issues in cold weather. Decided to look around for a ‘new used’ vehicle. Searched every dealer in town and even elsewhere and knowing the excellent customer service from the service department thought we would deal with the sales side. Jon is the new guy on the block I believe however he provided some realistic and valuable info to consider. Looked at several used vehicles that could comfortably seat 5 tall adults and the dog. Ended upgrading to another Odyssey. Just newer. It just wasn’t Jon that was great, everyone works as a team and makes sure your concerns are dealt with. Trade in for our 2007 was surprising too. Well above what was expected. Honourable mentions to Keith, Chianne, Dylan and Tom. Looking forward to continuing dealing with the team at Sun Valley Honda. Now the down side - when will the hybrid suvs arrive?

I had to take my CRV into service as an emergency first thing on a Monday morning and Dillon went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Knowing I had my three year old grandson with me and I had to drive to Calgary he immediately gave me service vehicle as mine wouldn't be ready on time. Very prompt service most especially on emergency situation. I brought my crv there couple of days ago due to spark plug failure. Dylan, the one who assist me at that time manage to give my car a service check slot to see what’s the problem. He gave me feedback immediately what happen and reassure me that it will be fix asap. Great service, fast service, and they washed my car for free! I had to get an alignment check on a Tesla model 3. For any Tesla owners in Medicine Hat, you are better off getting Honda sun valley to check your alignment or any problems before driving up to Calgary. Saves you a lot of time and the $100 is better spent then losing a day for driving. Highly recommend.

Excellent price for synthetic oil change, wait time is a little long but worth saving myself $40 than going through express places. No upselling, no pressure to buy the bells and whistles. I have made three visits to them over the past four years. Never again. Twice to look for parts & repairs for my old Honda, and once to look at new cars. The parts were not available, thus they did not want to do the repairs. Their attitude about me having an old Honda was not, "Wow! Let us help you keep it going!", but an unspoken attitude that they wished that car had already died. The time I was there to look at new cars, I made it clear that day that I was "looking today, but not buying today". The slimy salesman clearly did not like that, because he reluctant to help me. His attitude made it clear to me that I was wasting his time. He had no idea what my financial situation was; maybe I was rich and could pay cash, or maybe I would sign a high interest loan to buy a car. At the time, I was seriously considering going into debt to buy a new car, but his attitude made me rethink the whole idea, because I did not want to deal with him, or any business that would employ him. That was the only good thing to come out of the situation. I have held back, and my old Honda is still serving me well, with occasional help from mechanics and parts suppliers OTHER than Honda. Plus I am not in debt. EDIT: I understand their response, since I DID contact them by e-mail about the issue they mention. It is the IN-PERSON contacts with them that I reviewed, and the attitudes their people exhibited then. They would not have any record of them, so they cannot comment on them. My rating of them has now gone down.

This review is a modification to my initial review (added one star since my Bluetooth issue is now finally fixed after a year... once my initial review was posted I got a call to get the head unit replaced). I'll keep this one short as there is no point in further getting into a back and forth over in my view, poor customer service compared to my own experience with a bigger city dealer. Simply review the dealers responses below to see the main points and use your own judgement and caution. The only point I will address is the one where he stated that I obviously thought his dealers deal was better than the Edmonton one and that is why I picked them. Well, that is inaccurate, I got a better deal with Edmonton, they simply matched it, and I bought in the hat as the manager convinced me that since I'd be getting my servicing here it would be better. That being said, they did work with me in the end but you really need to do your research. The next thing, I forgot to ask when I was there to finally resolve everything with the manager today, must have suspended their referral program as there was no mention of anything for my 3 referrals.

I made then an offer on a vehicle and it was quick and simple. My recent experience with Sun Valley Honda was one of amazingness; I was poised with a completely and catastrophically damaged power-train - out of warranty might I add. Now not being a mechanic unbeknownst to me my car was failing quickly - well Sun Valley really came to help...they were prompt, professional and really worked hard to overcome such a large obstacle. Since buying my Civic EX-L from Sun Valley, I have had "VIP" service. I would recommend Sun Valley for all service related issues, or just to keep your maintenance minder up to date! Keep doing great and a special thanks for Devin in Operations; you really made this happen for me! I have been taking my Acura to Sun Valley Honda for 7 years and have always had excellent service. I have never felt compelled to write a review until today. I brought my car in for servicing today and asked if the techs could remove an infant car seat that got stuck in the backseat due to a jam with the seat belt. I was very close to having to cut the seat belt to get it out and buy a new belt and car seat - a very expensive fix. The techs got it out after many unsuccessful attempts and I am so thankful! Thanks so much for the great service and particularly to Dylan who provided awesome and friendly customer service!

I have changed my review from 1 star to a 4 star. I have had some issues but have since spoke with Denny the GM and we are in the process of sorting everything out. I will update this review with the final outcome, I appreciate the call from Denny and willing to work with me to sort this out.

I will never go to this dealership again, and I don't recommend that anyone else should. I went into Sun Valley Honda to get an oil change, and I was told that my transmission fluid and brake fluid were due to be changed as well. I have a regular trusted mechanic in Edmonton who has maintained my vehicle for years, but I thought that since I already had my car in the shop that I might as well get them changed. Once it was all done, I felt like my brakes were a little off, but I don't know much about cars so I thought maybe it was how it was supposed to feel with new fluid. The next day, I drove 6 hours to Edmonton on the highway going about 120 km/h. I was really lucky that there weren't many cars going that direction at that time, because I got to Edmonton and realized that my brakes were not working the way that they should. I would floor the brake and the car still go many metres before stopping. I called my mechanic and took my car in, driving at about 30-40 km/h and flooring the brake constantly and praying for no yellow lights. It was an extremely dangerous and traumatizing situation. My mechanic checked my brake fluid reservoir and found it to be empty. He took my car in and found that the rear wheel cylinder was loose and leaking and there was a part missing. He fixed my brake fluid situation and wrote up a clear record of service for me to bring into Sun Valley Honda. I went in and the manager only wanted to reimburse me for the repair that was done and didn't think he should have to pay for the initial brake fluid change that had caused all of this to begin with or that I deserved any more compensation other than the repair cost. Additionally, he was very patronizing and not empathetic to my situation, saying that human errors happen and that no harm was done so I didn't deserve any other compensation. He even went as far to suggest that it was possible that something on the highway had knocked off the plug, and I have driven on the highway a numerous amount of time without any issues even close to this. He started comparing the mechanical field with the medical field saying that people in the medical field make mistakes all the time, and when I told him that I was in the medical field, he started telling me about my own profession and how I should understand that mistakes happen. When I asked what he would do if I'd truly gotten into a bad accident or hit a pedestrian, he said that the dealership has insurance that would cover all medical costs. I do understand that mistakes happen, but I feel that he should be more concerned about the gravity of what has happened. I am appalled at his lack of concern regarding the potential risk and lack of safety in this situation that he's put me through, and I felt that he should have offered as much as he could. I will not be returning to Sun Valley Honda. EDIT: I have read the comment from the owner. I was NOT reimbursed for my transmission flush nor my oil change. I had originally requested monetary reimbursement for my initial oil change, transmission flush, and brake fluid change, but this had been refused. I was told that you would only pay for the original brake fluid flush OR the brake fluid repair, not BOTH. After half an hour of a very emotionally distressing situation, I was only offered compensation for the original brake flush and the repair flush, NOTHING else. I was recently working with Sun Valley Honda to buy a 2016 Honda HR-V. I went in September 2016 and let them know I was working with an insurance claim and did not know when I would be getting my pay out to put as a down payment on my vehicle. They assured me this would not be an issue. I spoke with Kayne about my financing options and he asked what they would have to offer me to make a deal today. I told Kayne my price and he spoke to Kyla in finance. Kayne returned a short while later and stated they could make the deal I wanted. I put the deposit on my vehicle and left thinking I had just made a wonderful deal. Kyla and Kayne then both started calling me 2-4 times a week, many times asking the same questions and making it clear that they don't communicate. Kyla and Kayne questioned why my insurance took so long to pay me out and I could not answer; the claim process started in July 2016 and did not complete until November 2016. I let Kayne and Kyla know I would call them whenever I knew more information but yet they continued to call me. The calls became bothersome especially during my work day. Kayne and Kyla were pushy in their sales tactics and I felt pressured and forced. Kyla called me on one occasion and asked me to get a cosigner as my down payment was taking too long to arrive from my insurance claim, this made no sense to me as my monthly payments would go up if I didn't have a down-payment and the selling point on the vehicle for me, was the price. At the end of November I received my insurance payout and contacted Kayne, we set up a day for me to come in and pick up my new vehicle. Kayne asked me to bring in my down-payment in cash, I declined and stated I didn't want to walk around with thousands of dollars cash in my purse, I asked to pay by bank draft and they requested I pay by debit which seemed odd to me but I agreed. When I arrived to sign my financing documents the terms of my deal had changed and no one had notified me. Even though Kayne and Kyla harassed me with phone calls for 2.5 months no one had a moment to call and tell me my financing would be more expensive AND and extra year long. When I read the paperwork and asked why it was different than my offer Kyla simply responded with "that's the best I could do". I informed Kyla I would not be purchasing this vehicle as it was not the amount I was informed of. I felt Kyla was very cold and dismissive, she never once apologized for their mistake. I left the dealership in a panic as I now had no vehicle and I am required to have one for my job. Kyla stated she would "see what she could do and get back to me". Kyla and Kayne both text me throughout the afternoon and asked if I would come back into the dealership, I declined. Kayne then text me stating they would be willing to knock money off the price of my vehicle to get me down to the payments they had quoted me for. I was so unimpressed with the customer service I continually declined. I contacted McFadden Honda in Lethbridge and they helped me in getting a newer vehicle for less money. I should have listened to all of the negative reviews I had heard about Medicine Hat Honda, I will never recommend or return to this dealership. If you want to buy with Honda save yourself the headache and take a drive to Lethbridge for quality service. UPDATE: After speaking to the General Manager I received a text from the sales associate Kayne asking if I would take 2 free oil changes in exchange for removing my negative review online. I cannot stress enough how much I would NOT recommend this dealership.

Very annoying dealership. After a service, you are asked to complete an on line survey but they ask you to score them 10 out of 10 because anything less is a fail. Well I guess you are a fail because I would not even score myself a 10 out of 10. This is simply ridiculous. Also, they always seem to find other things wrong with the vehicle. When taken to an independent mechanic, he can't find it. Have heard this from others after taking their vehicle there for the cheap oil change. A scam in my eyes. Never going back and if I buy a Honda, I will go to another city.

This is one of the easiest reviews I have ever had to write. My husband does business with this dealership regularly and knew how they operated, and called Denny Coulombe and worked out a deal on the phone. The deal was easily worked out, we were able to package in winter tires for our new car and our existing car and he made it so easy! James Ferland was also very helpful in getting our financing lined up and the paperwork done. Our car was delivered to us in Calgary with no extra charge. The process was made smooth because they simply do business that way. I would recommend this dealership even if you aren’t in the Medicine Hat area! We love our gorgeous new 2020 Civic LX! I went to Sun Valley Honda for an out-of-province inspection on my vehicle. It came back as a "fail", naturally. The suggested repairs and modifications would total over four-thousand dollars! This was on a well-maintained, regularly serviced Honda Civic that was driven for less than a decade. Civics are known to be both resilient and inexpensive to repair, so I thought that their evaluation was excessive. I obtained a second opinion from the local KalTire, which passed my car. I have since moved provinces, and my car required ANOTHER inspection, which again passed. Two passes, more than one year apart, at separate garages without any major repairs or modifications to my car during that time tell me that Sun Valley Honda's inspection was way off the mark and was possibly dishonest. Possible explanations for this are as follows: 1. Sun Valley Honda's technicians are not trained sufficiently to perform inspections, and overcall to mitigate potential future liability. or 2. Sun Valley Honda's management encourages needlessly strict inspections to profit from unnecessary repairs. In either case, what makes this a deplorable event is that I had to pay around one-hundred dollars for this inaccurate inspection, which may have been aimed to defraud me by recommending repairs that my car did not need. I would encourage anyone that moves to Medicine Hat to have their car inspected at KalTire. Update: I read the reply from the management. Since then, I have moved provinces again, and had the car inspected again, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it again. Three inspections in three years in three provinces, all normal. Just go to KalTire.

My wife and I bought a brand new vehicle with Sun Valley Honda in June 2018 We traded in our old Honda for a new one because we have always found that they are very reliable. When we went to register our vehicle, we were given the wrong Bill of Sale and couldn't register it. We had go back to the dealership and to get the right one. Also, when we went to the Registry the second time we weren't given the Nvis for new vehicles, so Sun Valley Honda had to deliver it the Registry. When we bought the vehicle we asked for winter Tires and Rims as well. We were told they were worth about $1800 total. They were only Steel Rims too. Today we went back and told the Service Dept. that we didn't want the Tires and Rims anymore and would like a refund. They had never been mounted at all. Kyle only wanted to give us back $800 to $1000, what a rip off. My wife and I are very disappointed with the Service and don't recommend

0 AUGUST 2020 Saw an ad on the auto traders app and called this dealer ,Dustin answered the call and we had a brief conversation regarding the demo 2020 ridgeline exl.He instantly asked for my credit card and my other details to check credit.I asked least couple of times to Dustin if there is any scratches or dents on the car since its a demo model and both the time he responded there is none. I was happy with the answer and said you can charge my credit card with a non refundable 1000 dollars.(I have not even seen or driven the car yet). Friday morning I woke up at 5:45 am to drive from Calgary to sun valley honda to pick up the car. after arriving took a test drive, went good.took a few walks around the car and saw 4 minor scratches ,Dustin addressed that by polishing it ,i was okay with it again since its a demo . After that I went inside and signed financing documents with Wonderful Marc and also paid the rest of my 12000 dollars,so far so good. While taking a final walk around the truck saw a few big dents in the back door of the truck,which contradicted what Dustin had said over the phone.I wanted Dustin to address that so he called sales manager James. Jamesh appeared to be very cold and discourteous in the response. .He responded immediately that "you know you are buying a demo car".i said "yes" but Dustin told me a couple of times that there are no scratches or dents on so my expectations were different.His response was "do you have proof of it that Dustin said so ,show me the text" .I reminded him that i was told verbally over the phone that there were no dents.when James asked Dustin, he mumbled nervously and said i didn't see any when i walked around the car. After that James called me that I am a PICKY customer a couple of times, which didn't stand well with me as i had been nothing but polite to all of the staff of Sun Valley Honda .This is the reason I am writing this review .I felt less of a person at the very time being . I felt that why he would have to take a personal attack on me rather than addressing the situation and not getting argumentative about the deal. By this point ,I had already changed my insurance to this truck from existing car, I drove 3 hours to be there, I have already paid a non refundable 1000 dollars without even looking or driving the car that i am supposed to buy with blind trust,I had already signed the papers and James is telling me in a very cold and rude way that I am a picky person.I don't know if that is the correct attitude or way to make a sale by making me feel such. James later changed the truck door but the interaction with him was very ugly .Marc and Dustin were wonderful. The glossy surface around cup was holder was discoloured as well , which dustin didn’t mention over the phone . I was surprised a new truck with only 1400km will have a discoloured shift box.Dustin later replaced that with a new one after making a request. So many flaws ... After I reached home the truck was missing a part, front engine cap .Again !which I had to text dustin about . This overall experience could have been much better I sincerely believe. Wrote an email to the Manager about this and got no response. This explains how much they care about costumers once the deal has been made . I have few friends and family in Medicine Hat and i have shared my bad experiences with them .I would not recommend this place.

We purchased our new to us vehicle in June from Sun Valley Honda we didnt even make it all the way home when we realized that we had a problem with one of the tires. We phoned Tony and told him of our problem he immediately sent out his service manager and head mechanic to come to our aid. Kyle and Jordan came to where we were on the highway changed the tire on my vehicle and jordan graciously drove it back to the dealership in medicine hat gave us a loaner till our vehicle was repaired. When it was all repaired Tony personally delivered the vehicle to me and took the loaner vehicle back for me. These three gentlemen went above and beyond for us we will definitely being buying our next vehicle from them. I've been getting oil changes from here for a couple years now, and I have had nothing but positive experiences. Today I went in for an oil change and tire rotation, and they never did the rotation as my tires were wearing evenly, and it was unnecessary. First time ever I had an auto repair shop tell me I didn't need to do something and saved me money. Kudos to you everyone at Sun Valley. While the user car we bought is fine, and the price we agreed to for the new car was stated on the final contract, the trade in offer was manipulated in a way I have never seen before in the purchase of any car with a trade in. Typically when I have requested a trade in price I am quoted a number, then when agreed, this number is written into the purchase agreement and the difference between the new vehicle and the trade in agreed price is determined and GST is applied to that difference, and I pay the total difference including that portion of the GST. I even checked a few older purchase agreements I had for other cars and this is the way it was done. You get a lower price always for a trade in at the dealer, but if you factor in the GST differential savings, the amount comes close at least to a private sale, without all the hassle of a private sale. Honda however has a very creative way to low ball your trade if you don't read all the numbers. I made the mistake of looking the the final number for my trade in which on the surface was reasonable. Not great, but good enough if you factored in the typical GST savings on the differential mentioned above. These characters used the savings that were created with the GST differential and added it to the real offer hidden inside the numbers, basically using my GST savings to pad their profit on the purchase of my used car. I tried to explain this to the GM but was told "that is the way we do it here". Well that may be the case, but while "legal" it still smells to me of sneaky tactics from this dealership to max profits while low balling clients for their trade ins. Shame on me for looking at the main trade in value presented to me assuming it would be the actual total for the used car. My mistake, so watch out for this shell game if you trade your car in here. As compensation I was offered a detail for the car and an oil change. Wow.

Got delivered a pre-owned vehicle sold as “MINT” condition with not a single defect reported on inspection. Ended up taking the Honda Pilot to a different local Honda dealership a couple days later as there were some red flags. The Service Manager, within 20 minutes and a short test drive found several unserviceable items. -A defective driveshaft! I had brought it to the attention of several employees at Sun Valley, including a Manager, and all of them brushed it off claiming it to be ‘a normal Pilot vibration’ - Warped front wheel rotors, local Service Manager found within 1 minute of test drive, even before a visual confirmation - Extra set of rims/tires (included in sale offer) sent different model rims with wrong size tires and TPMS sensors not compatible with vehicle. - No headphones with factory installed DVD player, recommended I buy a set off Amazon. Sales team pitched and promised a great sale until the cheque was delivered and then they were more than reluctant to make every available excuse away from the deficiencies. Eventually after multiple calls to the Sales Manager regarding the bad drive-shaft they agreed to pay for the driveshaft part ONLY, not even the labour. When I advised about tire size and TPMS sensors, I was told “it is very common not to include functioning sensors with a tire/rim package”!!!???? My local Honda dealership is so frustrated and embarrassed by the actions of this other dealership that they have gone out of their way to help get the repairs accomplished and back to a safe vehicle. This was our first dealership purchased vehicle and we paid a premium to have the peace of mind and confidence we were getting a safe vehicle with the utmost transparency. Unfortunately, this is your typical used car sales lot with the standard tactics and deception. Beware, get another inspection done before you buy from these guys cause once the cash is gone your just a sales number to them!
