The kids that basically run this place are good kids with good customer service. However, management has told them to charge for butter on the popcorn. Really? Markup on popcorn is already over 1000 percent! And for heaven's sake don't get a manager to make your frozen yogurt. You will not be able to tell it has fruit in it. They literally use tweezers to pick out 4 little pieces of fruit. This theater needs competition. Until then, bring your own snacks, because you cannot afford to snack there. And it is NOT illegal, no matter what they try to tell you.

Been going here since I was a toddler, love the place, those who work here are pleasant to help as long as you're not some ignorant dolt to them. Popcorn is great when you order LAYERED BUTTER, and the Yogen Fruz are a nice touch. Quality is perfectly fine, a very good experience when visiting Medicine Hat.

This movie theatre is disgusting. The arm rests are so worn out the fabric threads are fraying. Most of the fabric is turning black because they have never been cleaned. The ceiling tiles are sagging and white but are suppose to be black. It stinks like sweat and carpets are outdated and dirty. The movie theatre has not been maintained with general repair and maintenance over the years, I know because I live in the area. Compared to other theatres in other cities, this theatre is nasty. Full renovation is needed! I would give a 0 star if I could.

Decent place alittle pricey. when you ask for extra butter or layered butter you still end up using the little butter machine and the chairs are not the comfiest around so they have comfier chairs for extra money and they are limited. Movie quality is good with the 3D movies so that is what keeps bringing me back.

This theatre is in bad repair and in need of some upgrades. The seats are worn and very dirty/stained, the arm rests are worn through and everything else needs a thorough deep clean. You know it's bad when you prepare to go to the theatre in a long jacket with a hood, so you don't have to touch the seats. There is some definite neglect here. Theatre 3 specifically this time, but not limited to just this theatre overall.

Typical chain theater. Movies are fairly priced, concession is not. Most the staff are young. Can get busy if there is a popular movie. Relatively comfortable seats. Sound system isn't the greatest but not terrible either. Most the screens have good viewing angles no matter where you sit minus the very front 3-4 rows. Never have had the dreaded person with their phone or inconsiderate / unresponible parent that allows noisy children.

The worst part about our theatre is the staff, it's rare that you get a worker who seems like they actually want to be there. I went to a movie there tonight and my boyfriend had to get up and close the doors to our auditorium because nobody had and we were 20 minutes into our movie. Kinda weird considering that at most theatres a staff member does it. At least the movie wasn't bad.

Facility is super outdated. I love Cineplex but it's almost worth traveling to Lethbridge or Calgary. You play a guessing game when it comes to concession to who's the fastest employee. Instead of a nicer line system where you actually get served in the time you arrive (they used to do this) then unlike the bigger cities we don't get show times until a few days before the day which is so inconvenient. To top that off the new releases don't always get Prime seats which also sucks... this has lost them money on my behalf. Would love to change this rating up, but that will require a pretty decent overhaul of the facility.

March 2017: The theater has since made improvements but the speakers in several theaters need recalibration- auditorium 3 managed to make John Wick 2 alternately too quiet, too shrill, too loud, and too bass-y. It is still a very clean place overall, but the hardware of the theaters needs an upgrade and a fine tuning. August 2016: It's hit and miss. The process of getting tickets and snacks is consistent, but the enjoyment of the movie really depends on which theater they send you to. One screen has a stain on it, another theater has moody speakers that seem to decide if they're going to work that day or not, and some floors are sticky. The place is generally as clean as can be managed considering how many people visit it on major movie nights.

Good cinema with reasonable priced movie tickets, food and drinks are a little more pricey, but expected from a cinema. I have experienced a non-starting movie which was swiftly and politely refunded with an additional free movie ticket. They do have a section of 'comfy' seating for Prime memebers.

My experience was not a good one as the theatre was disgustingly filthy. Just about every seat my husband and I went to sit in had some sort of pool of liquid beneath the seat. We tried to find a couple seats that that were free of liquid, but by the end of the movie I discovered it had migrated down under our seats as well!! I was not impressed as I had placed my purse on the floor by my feet so it would now be covered in pop, or whatever liquid it was. Do the staff not clean up the theatres between shows anymore?? This is unacceptable in my opinion!

Tuesday night pricing is very cost effective at just under $7 for a ticket, however snack and pop pricing does leave a lot to be desired. Depending on the time and which movie you go to see, sometimes you can have your pick of the entire theater for seating, I just recommend you avoid anything still in its opening week as those tend to be quite crammed! The staff is helpful and friendly, and quite efficient at getting lineups minimized so you can grab your food and drink quickly and get to your seats.

It’s quite dated compared to many other Galaxy or Cineplex locations and needs a renovation. Bigger screens, better sound, and more angled seating really stand out in other locations compared to this one. Honestly, unless it’s a big blockbuster it’s much more worth viewing at home. And, even with big movies I often drive to Calgary to see them in AVX. This could change though, after (if) they bring this location up to current chain standards. Oh, and they need to fix the frozen yogurt machine! It’s been broken for a long time. That was the best snack there. And, it’s a quiet snack — a bonus so you don’t have to be “that” guy crinkling bags and stuff. However, we’re fortunate to have a Galaxy Cinemas in our small city! We see and enjoy movies here often. With a modernization it will be a great.

I'm going to be honest the seats are not upgraded to the normal seats I'm used to from edmonton lol there cotton seats NOT the leather ones and there really close together, so its hard to put your arm on the armrest without bumping or pushing or fighting over the armrest haha. , don't buy number H seats worst seats in theater 10 everyone keeps going in and out of the theater and you just get distracted and annoyed ???? other then the seats lol really good experience

Well what can I say about Galaxy Cinemas? As the only multiplex in Medicine Hat they have a monopoly on all the mainstream and blockbuster movies. Prices aren't outrageous, but other than the prime seats (which have such high backs that the second row is useless for anyone under 5'5") the seats are poor - uncomfortable, often broken with minimal leg room. The theaters themselves are usually clean. Screens and sounds are passable - sounds especially seems to often just be loud rather than dynamic. Just one trip to a theater in a larger center is a reminder of just how out of date this theater is. But it's better than nothing! I guess.

I find it really annoying that I cannot go into the movie theatre area from the mall in the daytime to buy tickets, check what's on. Movies are very expensive and I want to make sure that I can see what I want to see when its available. The closed door thing is so annoying that I have stopped going and buy my movies online. Its cheaper than a ticket at the theatre and I can. make my own popcorn cheaper. Too bad as the theatre is nicely done up with drink holders, comfy seats and good climate control!

The seats are some of the grossest theater seats I have ever seen. The cinema had a smell to it that was hard to describe a cross between old socks and dirty locker room. If it wasn't the only game in town it would have gone out of business by now.

Love coming here with my friends and family, however I feel that the snacks are over priced, here's a tip, if they ask if you want butter on your popcorn say no and then go to the area you get your straw and then put butter on your popcorn, it saves you money ????

So filthy. When you go there look at the walls, covered with dried gob and spit balls. Pointed it out but nothing changes. I go there once a month and marvel at how many more spits balls are there since the last visit.

Most of the theaters need renovations to the seats and to get features lots of others have. Also after paying 12 plus for tickets and way too much for popcorn and drinks. Having to sit through 14 ads before the trailers even start is criminal

Went to movie in theatre #10 and sat in the last row. Could not believe how filthy the seats and arm rests were. For the cost of a movie now a days you need to have some kind of protocol for cleaning. Don't even want to think what you could catch.

Saw a movie here once, it was excessively long and also kinda boring, but the low attendance of the movie allowed for some excitement for me and my 3 friends. Being 4 of 5 in the theatre at the time, we pretty much had an open reign and had loud conversations which improved the movie tenfold. At one point an armrest fell off, considered raking it as a memento of the good experience but after much discussion ended up replacing the armrest, cup holder and all to it's original position. (I would like to insert a disclaimer here that we did not break the armrest, we simply pulled it off, if had been broken at an earlier date). All in all 10 out of 10, although could have used more commercials, I enjoy sitting for an extra 20-25 minutes before seeing my film
