My experience here was not the best when I initially inquired about my vehicle, I had to make multiple trips due to incorrect information and before I met Matt, after I started dealing with him he made sure to follow up with me and got everything sorted. He kept it straight and honest throughout the entire transaction, and even after I walked out the door with my car he still follows up without being a hassle to make sure everything is going well and working as it should. I will recommend anyone going to St James VW to ask for Matt “orange” directly as well as Leo in financing, they will take very good care of you period, definitely working with them again on my next purchase.

Service is truly terrible. Especially Monty . He is one of the rudest people I have dealt with. I have had had nothing but issues with my vehicle and unfortunately had to deal with service as too often. I live 200 km from the dealership so each time I have to get service I have to take an entire day off of work to drop it off. I have had to take so much holiday time off for service. After almost weekly calls that I had to take my car in for inspection, I made an appointment to take it in. My wife and I booked a day off and took the car in, I was met by Monty which the first thing he said was there was only one person allowed in due to Covid restrictions and if there was an issue I could reschedule an appointment (take another day each of precious holiday time each). I said it was okay but I would need a shuttle for us. He told me they couldn’t shuttle both of us. I had to cancel the appointment and waste, yet again, 2 holiday says and 4 hours of driving. They never mentioned anything about only one person when I booked the appointment. What a terrible service department, and overall owner’s experience. The service manager Ron is good though. Avoid this place. Edit: got a canned reply from the ‘owner’ to contact the service manager. After reading many other 1 star reviews. It’s all the same going back many years. Terrible service and support. Never any actual changes to correct issues. You work for a brand that is tainted with ‘diesel-gate’ and yet are completely unapologetic and even beyond that, are arrogant and not willing to stand behind your commitment. My diesel car has now finished the warranty period without a recall or fix to the issues caused by the ‘emissions scandal fix’. It has been almost 3 years waiting for the software fix to correct the dangerous no countdown ‘No Start’ issues that I get in the winter temperatures. This service department told me not to exceed 80km/hr in the winter to avoid this?!? I called it from the start, VW are not even trying to come up with a software fix for the issue. They are simply taking a knee and running out the clock on warranty left. This dealership is the prime example of not caring at all.

I hope that as a prospective car buyer, you will carefully weigh the pros and cons + benefits of working with your chosen dealership. In the spirit of objective reviews, here's mine. As a first-time car buyer, I was fairly anxious and did not know many of the right questions to ask or expect in terms of service. Initially, the salesperson I worked with seemed dedicated and willing to go above and beyond-even so far as offering me a ride back home-since I bussed to the location that day, and it was dark and cold. BUT-in an indirect sense, all factors being considered, I felt obligated to put down a $500 deposit on the car I had just seen for the first time and at night. I now realize that this is a significant 'don't' for first-timers without family members close by to assess your potential car with you. Preferably, see your car of interest in the day and come with your list of questions ready and a friend or someone more experienced with vehicles. Where the two if not three stars tip-off for me is after I signed the contract. As soon as I signed the deal and received the car, many small issues came up. >A couple of indicator lights were going off on my dashboard, one of which was the Windshield Washer Fluid-it was empty. >The trunk door had issues and needs to be shut with remarkable force than I can easily muster. I was not informed about this. >My windshield wipers were deteriorated barely a week into ownership, and as a result of a misunderstanding, I had to make two trips (only 3-4 weeks later) to resolve this issue. In the grand scheme of owning a car, these issues are so little-which makes me wonder why there could not have been more attention to detail on the part of the dealership. It is the little things that make all the difference, especially for a dealership. Customers are coming because they need a specialized group to trust and rely upon through the process of owning and maintaining their vehicle. One thing that my salesperson got for me was a requested complimentary oil change, and I really appreciated the gesture. Sadly, our future interactions were tenser and laced with misunderstandings, but they have been professional all the way through. I've really enjoyed working with the Finance Manager, Dustin. He comes off as very logical and reasonable and truly listens. I recall he spent over 40 minutes on a phone call walking me through many of the concerns I had about the financial implications and processes involved with purchasing the car from the dealership. Before posting this review, I have taken the time to speak with the dealership manager and note down some of the grievances and frustrations I have encountered along the way. This review is intended to inform future buyers. It is always helpful to share and learn from each other's experiences. I got a Nissan Juke, and it's a super cute, peppy car.

My vehicle was posted on Kijiji and Taylor reached out to take a look at it so that they may purchase it. Jesse the “used sales manager” was in contact on Saturday with an offer and I informed him i wanted only my asking price for it. Jesse informed me he would text me/call within the end of the day saturday, all sounded great from there but I was left with no email or text that saturday. I sent an email Monday morning and he informed me he was still working out the numbers and getting in contact with the dealership that wanted my vehicle, it is now Wednesday and I had to send ANOTHER email asking what is going on. Finally, i get a reply saying and I QUOTE “ Hey Alexis, Sorry for the delay! I have yet to manage to re secure that money. I’m sorry I am out”. Absolutely had no communication or even sent me an email to let me know they have decided to back out. I missed out on potential buyers while waiting on Jesse. My family and I are very well known in this industry and cannot believe the type of communication and care that was givin throughout this whole situation. Taylor was overall super great.

Purchased my vehicle with the help of Mary Rose and I could not be more satisfied! Mary was super accommodating and made sure I felt comfortable all throughout the process. I was hesitant to purchase the vehicle because of its higher mileage, but Mary spoke to her sales manager and managed to get me a better deal! She even let me drive the vehicle for a day just to make sure I really wanted the vehicle, and that I wouldn't have buyers remorse. N.B. these five stars are specifically for LEO RUEDA in the bodyshop. I've had a variety of 1, 2, 3, and 4 star experiences with St. James VW as a whole over the years. Leo helped me with a recent corrosion warranty claim on my Mk6 GTI. He gets five stars because: (1) He calmly helped his team to rectify a big error in a corrosion warranty claim process that I had initiated. (2) He was patient and thorough, answering questions well and providing clear explanations as to what work would need to be done, the process, etc. (3) He promptly kept me updated every step of the way, through phone and/or email, making sure to cc his team to keep them in the loop (good communication) (4) He took his time to inspect my car carefully before and after the bodywork was performed. After a rocky start to the corrosion claim, happy to report that the car looks fantastic now (the bodyshop has done a quality job). Since the bodywork was well-performed, and I had a stellar customer experience with Leo, I would return to this bodyshop.

They treat you well, but be aware of the service department. Their 60k service recommendations don't line up with what VW recommends and can end up costing you significantly more than it needs to. Do yourself a favor and review the maintenance plans on the VW website so that you can correct them on the work they will tell you is due.

I bought a brand new Jetta 2021 Hyline with R-Line. (Jan 2021) 1. When I took the car I kinda felt it wasn’t cleaned properly from the outside and the sales person said it is anyway gonna get dirty outside on the road. 2. I asked him about adding few complimentary items like fuel change and said will let me know but never got back to me. 3. I went to the place in April 2021 for an engine light issue and talked to them about the thing I asked. I talked to the head sales person he said he’ll look into it and get back to me I was there for few hours no one came back. It’s been so many days now no one got back to me. 4. Other places even offer free 2-3 oil changes in buying a used car and they don’t even respond back. Won’t recommend going here.

I drove to Winnipeg for work and went to St James VW for some assistance with setting my Alltrack up for winter and some minor service work. Being from out of province, I had a thing or two to learn about winters in the prairies. Clint in the Parts department was absolutely amazing and was willing to spend quite some time taking me through various option to make sure I had the correct setup. He ended up saving me a considerable amount of time and money by suggesting an alternative and improved solution to my specific situation. He went above and beyond with every aspect of our encounter and always made time to lend a helping hand. Even gave me some tips on the best fishing spots around! Dillon in the service department was possibly the most considerate and accommodating service tech I've ever met. He was attentive to the specific requests I had and provided complete transparency with all work done on the car. He kept great communication throughout my time there, and kept me up to date with any changes good or bad. This was an invaluable aspect of the service as my job required flexibility. He was able to get my car in with minimal notice, and worked closely with the service team to make sure I was back on the road in no time. While I didn't interact with all members of the team, I want to sincerely thank the service team for their efforts. They truly invested their time into my vehicle's issues and went far beyond any expectations I had. It's not an understatement to say they saved me thousands of dollars. CHANGE IN REVIEW: Matt Winchar left the dealership before he was able to meet all the stipulations in my contracts. He was misleading me to believe that everything would be met and now I am left with no one to help me navigate through the issues I have. I am very upset because A) my dealer did not tell me he is leaving B) no one told me and C) Matt told me to "trust me" in regard about getting a cargo liner and now he is gone and I am not sure if the other stipulations in my contract will be met. I am very upset about the situation. 0/10 would recommend Matt. If he had told me he left, then I would be writing a very different review. I found Jesse Smith was very helpful with helping me navigate and figuring out all the issues I had with my car. Super appreciative he understood where I was coming from and said "hey I see you guys a nice people but totally understandable your upset". However, in the last few years I've been getting increasingly bombarded by unsolicited phone calls and text messages from them - offering promos, leaving "urgent" voicemails saying they want to buy my car back, saying my maintenance is out of date even though it's not. I've requested several times that they stop but there's been no noticeable change. No other car dealership I've dealt with has ever been this obnoxious. Needless to say, my next car will be purchased elsewhere. Update: Nearly one year after I left my original review and they're still sending me unsolicited calls and texts with "special offers" despite saying they would stop. Don't buy a car from this place unless you're planning on changing phone numbers because they will never stop.

Any other shop would have passed those things on a safety without a second look because in my opinion non of it was actually that bad. 2 days later I hear something weird from the engine bay and they bring it straight back into the service department at the first available time and fix it up no questions asked at no charge to me. INCLUDING a loaner vehicle for the day. This has been the best vehicle purchase I have ever made simply due to the effort Mike, Lucas, Leo and the VW team are willing to put in to get you in a quality vehicle at a reasonable price. Say goodbye to kijiji scumbags and go see a vw expert, worth every penny out of your wallet and time spent out of your day.

Pushy service advisor to start. My only issue was a check engine light after a -40 day. Brought into service. Advised me my 55k mileage Tiguan needed 3200$ worth of parts and labor. Told me it was because I put regular fuel instead of premium which I know for a fact has never happened. The service advisor was trying to convince me to get the work done without thinking about it by offering me a free vehicle after I said I was going elsewhere. Fast forward I brought to a local shop that is only doing one repair mentioned in the diagnostic at 1/8th the price. Told me the check engine light was likely due a flood on a extreme cold day. The local mechanic even suggested they might have been trying to exaggerate issues due to slow business. I will never go back and I’ll never buy another VW from this location.

Khairul followed up, while not being pushy after I initiated contact requesting more info on a 2018 Audi TTS. 0;-We just bought my wife a 2019 Golf wagon with 4motion (all-wheel drive). We bought a demo model because it was not only a good deal but it was basically the only one available in the city. Obviously a very popular and practical choice. Beautiful car and soooo much room inside. We had looked at the Tiguan but she didnt like how high she felt when driving it. She loved the Golf because it offered all the room of SUV and all wheel drive, but better on gas and still drives like a car (because it is ... lol). Sabbir Rahman was our salesman. He has been exceptional at answering all our questions and concerns and has provided fast service even after we signed the paperwork. The reason Im mentioning this is because the dealership was installing a command start for us and fixing a scratch located under the front bumper. So whenever I texted him to check on status of repair and installation he has been quick to respond and to let me know the status. He continued to help us even after deal was signed. Thats good service !!! I had other salesman at other unnamed dealerships who forget your name as soon as paperwork is signed ... lol. I highly recommend this VW dealership and Sabbir. Also the entire process was fast, easy and they went the extra mile as far as making sure we got a great deal on a great car !!! Did I mention VW gives you free service (oil changes) for 4 years !!! We chose to have our Atlas' autobody work done there because their website advertises a loaner vehicle during the repair; in one conversation, they even offered to get us a truck so we could still pull our boat. We just dropped it off, and no loaner vehicle was available, despite booking the service weeks in advance. Apparently loaner vehicles are not available for the next month at least. So don't plan on getting a loaner car here, despite what their website says.

I would like to share my experience I bought my 2016 Honda Civic from them and that time they pretended to be really nice but afterwards they changed totally. The first thing I told the person who's name is Matt Borley that it was my 1st car and I have zero knowledge about the cars so they gave me winter tires and didn't even informed me and later on when I bring this issue to him he as really so rude to me and said that if I'm driving the car I should know what tires it has which is really not appropriate. And now one more issue came up is my AC is not working and they can't help me with anything. Now I am left here helpless and have to spend $2000-$3000 on my car. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone because once they sold the vehicle they don't even care how the customer is doing with it.

Even saying the bad news there are no available color that my wife wants he still have the smile on his face, so easy for my wife to accept and the good thing I got the deep black pear that I want, we are satisfied.
