Rav4's and Corolla's 2020 make don't have block heaters..... so consider that when buying new. We had no idea...but don't fret for another $327.42 plus tax you can get one installed. Unreal pay so much for a new car only to have to pay out more for this! We live in Winnipeg are you kidding?. Plus another ton of annoying things we've dealt with here... I highly doubt our price was added correctly without a block heater....

I had my Tacoma brought in for the frame recall, I was told I'd be contacted in regards to making an appointment to have the rist protection applied as per the recall. That was almost a year ago without any attempt to have this done, even with leaving several messages with service advisors. I alao had a collision repair taken care of their repair centre, again, having spoken to the person in regards to my claim after it was repaired and promised certain things to complete the claim, I never heard from them again. On top of that, the clear coat they applied began peeling over various areas of my truck that were repainted. I will never again deal with them, I will take my business to a dealership that actually puts worth into their customers. Reply to your reply I have to say that I really wasn't surprised that I wasnt contacted. My disappointment is completely validated.

I've dealt with 3 different Toyota dealership's service departments through my 15 years of owning Toyota's. I have never had a bad of an experience as this. Rude employee, was lied to when I purchased my vehicle as to what I recieved with my service plan, was given false information when I called the generic Birchwood phone number. I honestly asked how I can get my money back for my service plan and will be looking into to this more. Frontier and the Waverly location are a million times better.

I have been to several dealerships in my time and I have never experienced such genuine and transparent customer service. The service department was outstanding! Rent Friesen is the best service representative I have ever encountered my 39 years of owning a vehicle. Brent told me me vehicle would be over an hour in the shop. I advised Brent I only had 45 minutes. He had my vehicle done in 20 minutes ! And while I was waiting a sales rep brought me coffee. I would not recommend salesperson Shujie Wang, in two visits he told 8 times that he is the top salesperson in whole team. We didn't feel comfortable to deal through him he asked our opinion about the price and our offer than he made a joke on our offer, he was so pushy, we felt like we are in bazar and buying item from street salesman. He told things that comes with vehicle (warranty etc) and made deal on vehicle which were not true, so basically he lied. Sales Manager is good and he covered things for salesman Service Manager is good and did touch ups as promised by sales manager.

Susan Spiradakos was the one who helped me find my Rav4, and honesty she was so helpful and an absolute joy to work with. My mom is still talking about how nice she was. While other dealerships made me feel pressured into putting in a deal right away, Birchwood Toyota's no-stress service made purchasing a vehicle feel like less of a chore, and actually something I was looking forward to. Overall I am satisfied with my experiences with Birchwood Toyota; however, I have run into a few occasions where customer service has fallen below my expectations. I feel most of these concerns could have been avoided if the service agents in both parts and service were empowered more to resolve the issues on their own without the need for escalation to team leaders or service managers. In saying that dealing with Antonella, service manager, was a completely different experience from what I was expecting. She took the time to understand the problem and dealt with it quickly. Between the two of us we were able to come to resolution that was both satisfactory for me and Birchwood Toyota. This may sound like a commercial but if you are looking for tires for your vehicle look no further than Birchwood Toyota. With their price matching, ability to book appointments unlike other retailers, and shuttle service why wouldn't you go with them?
Everyone is always friendly and helpful, from the service reps right to the ladies at the service desk. My most recent service rep was Brent Reimer and although I've not had a bad experience with other service reps, my most recent dealing with him was by far the best yet! He was happy, fun to deal with, and obviously understands how important good friendly customer service is. He has now officially become my go to guy! :)
I bought a new vehicle here and almost every aspect of the transaction was terrible. I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere, because you can't do worse. In summary, I found: - The finance manager, Scott Buchanan, to be both dishonest and childish - The sales manager, Andrew Robinson, routinely lied out of convenience - The product specialist was familiar with how to pair a phone to the stereo and nothing else - Literally every dealer accessory was installed incorrectly or not at all - The vehicle had grease throughout the interior (including the headliner) and damage to the center console. - The sales manager Adam and lot attendant Caezar worked really hard to resolve the issues their coworkers created. I appreciated their efforts to clean up after their coworkers, but it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. Selling a brand new vehicle is as technically demanding as falling down a flight of stairs. On the whole, I found it a pretty grim joke for staff members to congratulate me on my purchase as I left, with a service appointment planned before I ever drove the vehicle. They should have congratulated each other. Toyota may have made a decent vehicle in the first place, but it took the combined efforts of the staff at Birchwood to make the experience so frustrating, that I go out of my way to warn off as many people as possible.
"what can I do to make you buy this vehicle today" is what I got and multiple phone calls after I expressed a disappointing visual inspection on the condition of the car and test drive. LOL

We had a very great experience there with Marc Alary, one of the salesmen. We were looking for a used car, which they did not have, but his approach was very nice. He came up to us, asked us how we are and then asked us if he could help us. He wrote down the info about what kind of car we were looking for, and even though he couldn't find the one, he still keeps in touch with us, and seems to be concerned about finding the right vehicle for us. Very bad experience with this dealership. Possibly the worst we ever encountered. Today was no different, when we inquired about a used 2010 Lexus.
If you go for claiming your warranty. They will send you back saying that they will call you back. But that will never happen. So no point in buying extra warranties. They don't help at all.

They were supposed to replace the frame on our Toyota tacoma due to recall. Upon being told it was done, my mechanic husband pointed out that a number of things where done wrong. This was verified by another Toyota dealership. They were given a list of things to fix and told us it was done. Again, they did something wrong, and didn't finish everything on the list. Process has taken 5 months and counting. Very scary, incomplete work that could cause safety issues. Don't trust them!

We arrived at almost closing time with our 2006 truck and towing an RV trailer. The truck required new wheel bearings. Luke our service rep very quickly booked us in and gave us a spot in their lot to park our trailer for the night. Parts were ordered and work was started the next day. We were on our way the following day. Thanks to the very friendly, and efficient staff who made us feel welcome camping in their back yard and reception area for two days.

Buyer Beware.... Lesson learned: Check the facts and do not trust what this dealership tells you. We were shopping for a new Highlander. Upon considering our trade in, the salesman Nelson informed us that the value of our trade in would be lower by $2,000 due to a broken sliding door. He also informed us that had we inquired sooner, it may have been covered under a Toyota service campaign. Nelson mentioned that he thought the campaign was over now. I informed Nelson that we had been bringing our vehicle to Birchwood for over 8 years for all maintenance. We had even requested a quote for the door repair the previous year. We were never notified of the possible warranty repair. I asked Nelson to verify that the repair was not covered. I received a call back shortly thereafter from the sales manager that the repair was definitely not covered by the Toyota Service Campaign. I was suspicious of the integrity of the dealership by not previously notifying me of the campaign, so I decided to call Toyota Motor Company (TMC) myself. After collecting my VIN, TMC then informed me that the service campaign was still in effect and my vehicle was in fact covered for the warranty claim. Coverage was in place!! I called Birchwood Toyota service to set up the service for the sliding door. They indicated that the door would not be covered. I then called TMC back to verify. TMC provided a reference number for the repair which I provided to Birchwood. After numerous weeks of leaving unanswered emails and phone messages Bichwood Service finally called me back. An appointment was scheduled. I brought the vehicle in for review of the claim eligibility. It took another 3 weeks of unanswered emails and phone messages. When I finally got a hold of someone at Birchwood service, they indicated that they had failed to look at the sliding door on the previous appointment. They indicated that I should make another appointment. I did make another appointment to review the sliding door. The service department informed me that they now agreed that the repair would be covered under warranty and they needed to see the vehicle yet again to assess before ordering the parts. The vehicle was brought in again and we were informed that the parts would arrive in 3 weeks. The final appointment was made for the repair. The day of the 'final' appointment we were informed that Birchwood service had forgotten to order the parts to repair the sliding door. In the end, the door did get repaired under the TMC warranty. However, Birchwood Toyota made the process extremely painful by: 1- Repeatedly denying the claim that was in fact valid 2- Not returning phone calls 3- Unnecessarily delaying the repair Either Birchwood Toyota suffers from incompetence or lack of integrity. Perhaps both.

We purchased a new to us vehicle from Birchwood Toyota last year. The whole process was a breeze and the car is great. We got a nice deal on it as well! We will continue to bring the vehicle back for servicing as that process is also easy and their pricing is right.
MANIPULATE, FALSE ADVERTISING, NOT A HONEST SALES TEAM. TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR TO MAKE YOU SIGN. TOOK TRUCK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AFTER 30 MINUTES OF OWING IT BECAUSE I WAS SO DISGUSTED IN THEIR DISHONESTY & BAD FAITH. On Wednesday 2020/07/08 I purchased a Tacoma from Birchwood Toyota. I dealt with Adrienne for the sales negotiations, although I understand their job scope is worked around sales/commissions, I strongly felt I was dealt with in bad faith. I was told I could pick up my Tacoma for Friday morning @9:30am on 2020/07/10. Upon arrival I spent 3 hours signing paperwork, also in this time the truck had no insurance. I asked if the dealership gives me temporary insurance to get to Autopack prior to me driving the truck off the lot - I was told no. I asked where I could go to get insurance, the sales manager Susan tells me that I can walk across the auto mall (never been there before & its massive). No offer for a shuttle service. Spent 40 minutes dealing with that then had to walk back. While we were signing papers in her office she placed the set of keys on her desk (at this point I did not see the 2 away command start on the key ring) so I asked is the command start worked into the OEM key fob because I don’t see it? She replied saying “oh no don’t worry these are the spare keys the command start is on the first set of keys in the truck right now”. I replied oh ok no problem at all. Now 3.5 hours later I am finally in the truck they had a lady ask if I wanted them to show me any features prior to leaving I said no it’s okay but if you could just show me how the 2 way command start is operated & I’ll be going. This is when the sales manager walked over with another man & said “oh ya .. about that... we installed it on the wrong truck...” when you look someone in their eyes and know they’re lying to you is the most disrespectful feeling. I would have had no problem if they were honest with me - honesty is key. Just tell me you wanted me to sign so you could make the sale get your commission but you WILL install it - That’s honesty. Instead Susan told me she sent the wrong email to the wrong person for the wrong truck then Adrienne calls me and tells me no it was him who made the mistake. This is now almost 4 hours into my day & also my last day of vacation. Then they first tell me that I could come back to have it installed. ( at this point I have already waited 2 days because they needed it longer to install the command start, now I have to wait more time, gas, kilometres on my vehicle & rearrange my work schedule). It’s a 45 minute drive from my area. Then they say oh well send someone down to pick it up from you. So now I have to let some stranger drive the piss out of it there and back across the city? Their compensation for this entire ordeal was to wash my truck after. For spending over 42,000 thousand dollars on truck from their dealership & hosing me down on my trade in you’d think they would be willing to compensate me with something better than a truck wash. They are a VERY money hungry oriented sales team. They’ll tell you what you want to hear & throw you to the curb like a dirty pair of socks once they reap the benefits of that commission money.
Scam artists. My elderly father wanted to have the brake pedal height adjusted on his car that has only 15,000 km yet this place tried to charge my father for a complete brake and rotor replacement job that was completely not needed. Not a single thing wrong with the brakes and they were not worn out at all. Nice job trying to take advantage of the elderly.

Friendly staff. Willing to help and discuss the difference in the models, this was on my first visit. Next day I went back for a test drive, on the way out to the new SUV the salesperson asked were my wife was. I told him she wasn't available. He proceeded to say that I could make a decision without her and I said yes. He then proceeded to say yes as women don't know anything about cars, I quickly told him that was not the case and my wife was very knowledgeable when it came to cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles. While on the test drive the salesman asked about other cars I was looking at and that I previously owned. He then would bad mouth them, while praising the ride of the test SUV. I told him the test SUV was new and should ride nice. After returning to the dealership I got some numbers from him and left saying I would return the next day. The next morning I went back and asked him to get his sales manager. When the sales manager came I told him how much I liked the new SUV but would not buy from his dealership. He said you won't buy here and I said NO. I then told him what took place the day before with regards to the test drive. He apologized, I then left the dealership, received a phone call later from the sales manager again he apologized and said he talked to the salesman about what he did. I would not recommend this dealership.

Took my new car (2013 Corolla) here last year because the remote keyless entry would only work within about 5 feet of the car. The guy tried it outside and confirmed that it wasn't working properly. They moved the car into the garage, tried it, and it worked fine. The mechanic then said "it's working perfectly". Obviously it's going to work better in a garage, because the weak signal can bounce around in the enclosed concrete garage. Still having the same problem. I went there twice with the same results. Not worth my time to constantly keep bringing my car in here and wasting my time. Basically, they failed to honour the warranty. At first, the guy there actually told me that the remote keyless entry wasn't covered under the warranty, and was about to hang up and let me go. It wasn't until I told him to speak to a supervisor that he then realized it actually was a warranty item. I put new batteries in, tried my spare key...same results. Anyways, keyless entry still isn't fixed and I'm not happy. Will never do business with them again.

My mother went to your dealership to check into a concern while on her way to Ontario. She was recommended a fuel air inductionsl service which she had said she would have me look into when back home. Your service department did the service without her authorization AND forced her to pay for it! I work in a shop and know that it should not be done unless there is a concern directly related to a repair. I explained to her as such, she declined, and you still went forward with it. Unacceptable! Now she is in Ontario having to get her plugs done because the tips are fried! Incredibly disappointed as I typically stand behind Toyota vehicles and the dealer we visit here in Calgary. No need to push unneeded sales and then force your customers to pay when they are not authorized. Very unhappy with this outcome and would not recommend.

I had problem with 2019 Toyota 4runner screen. I called in Toyota at Waverly and on Regent to book an appointment as they were close to my home. They had awful long period of wait time. Then I called Birchwood Toyota at West, I got my appointment the very next day. LUKE SANTOS dealt me and solved my problem in no time. To me they really care about customer’s time and business. I recently bought a used 2012 GMC Terrain from these guys, and purchased a SAL two year warranty that they offered and advertised as "coverage for non-wearable parts". The other day, my driver's side window stopped working. I checked my warranty and saw that power window switches and power window motors were covered. So I took it in, and a few hours later got a phone call - sorry sir but it's actually the window regulator: the cable snapped. And also the plastic piece that clips to the window is broken so you need a new window as well (apparently the plastic piece is molded into the window - great design GM). So my repair estimate is $900, mainly because a new window is $500. And none of this is covered under my warranty. I argued with the service manager about this not being under warranty and he said he also argued with the insurance agent from SAL. I phoned SAL myself and all the agent said was "window regulator is not listed in your contract" - and he was right, it isn't. However, my main beef here is with Birchwood for advertising this warranty as 'coverage for non-wearable parts' - a regulator is not a wearable part, cables don't just snap out of nowhere! Also, I am not a mechanic (but I am in a technical field) so when I bought the warranty and I read power window switches and power window motors, I just assumed that if my power window stops working that it'll be covered under my warranty - this is part of the reason I bought the warranty, because I've heard of power windows breaking from many different people! At least have the regulator listed in the warranty contract under exclusions. I told all of this to another service rep at Birchwood Toyota and he said that they often have a difficult time with this SAL insurance group. If you're having a difficult time with them, why sell their product? You're the Birchwood group - you've got the muscle to either force them to change their policies or find another company to offer warranties! Why sell an inferior product? To fix my window, I ended up phoning Stafford Auto Service (at the corner of Stafford and Scotland) and they found a used window for $150 - I'm taking my business there - worked with them before and they're great. Birchwood only gets one star on this review because their shuttle service personnel were great. UPDATE: this gets even better, for two reasons: 1) About a week ago Birchwood replied to this review saying they'll get in touch - they haven't 2) So I took my Terrain into Stafford Auto. Get a phone call a couple hours later: "Sir, there's nothing wrong with your original window. Nothing is broken. We're going to hook the regulator up to it." So they did, and I picked it up and the window works fine. So what's the deal Birchwood? Were you trying to lie to me, assuming I wouldn't take my business elsewhere, trying to get me to buy a $500 window for no reason? Terrible.
They repaired my 2011 Tundra. very professional and easy to deal with. Erin did a very good job communicating and the technician (I don't know his/her name) did a very good job identifying and resolving the problem.

Right at the moment I entered the door to Biechwood Toyota I was attracted to the vehicle that was parked in front of the door. It was a silver coloured Rav4. Very quickly we were approached by Ms Hayden Hood who proceeded in the most friendly and informative way to describe the features of the vehicle tat had caught my attention. She arranged a test drive and after a short drive down Portage Ave to Hedingly I was totaly convinced that this was the vehicle for my wife and I to enjoy. Hayden assisted us in arriving at a satisfactory price agreemen tand after payment was completed we were on our way to the enjoyment we have had from our Rav4. AND Toyota step rails are pieces of garbage..this is my second set on my fj cruiser..first were replaced under warranty..rusted right through??!! Purchased a 2020 corolla hybrid after 3 weeks trunk can only be opened manually which is fine under warranty to be fixed but i also got the auto starter with it and was told to be 5-7 buisness days for part currently sitting around a month and still nothing took me calling them and asking what is going on for any kind of update about it. Decently friendly but would be nice if they could give me anykind of solid timeline when part comes in so i can get trunk fixed at same time but im not holding my breath. I wouldnt recommend buying from this dealership. Just to clarify i did get a call and message left on a tuesday saying you would let me know at end of day about the part. I waited till thurasay or friday and finally i called back to try and find out because i did not get any response from you guys. It can just be frustrating being told i would hear from you guys and not hearing anything. My work can be tough to book time off to get it installed so knowing in advanced is nice if possible.

The service is exceptional. From bringing your car into the appointment service bay to waiting for your vehicle the attention to customer comfort is outstanding. If you can't wait they will shuttle you back and forth and also offer the option of picking up your vehicle for service.
I have always been treated well and feel that the dealership is a great example of a company that values customers .I have been dealing with Birchwood for 30 years because of this.
If you consider yourself a fool with a lot of money you definitely should go to this dealership, because that's exactly the way you will be treated. You will be offered to play all kinds of games that dealerships offer you nowadays, my favourite one is when they apply taxes twice or even 3 times and as a result a car that supposedly was about 500 monthly comes 650, of course than they realize they have made a mathematical mistake(grade 5 mathematics) and bring you another figure..and so on..and so on. That's a pity that Toyota is loosing its name because of the people who are supposed to honestly sell you cars but never do that. Will never ever comes back to these idiots.

I bought two new cars from Birchwood dealerships on the same day in December of 2012, one a 2013 Venza. So when it was time to consider replacing the Venza, I returned to Birchwood Toyota. To say I had an unhappy. unexpected experience is an understatement. I left there feeling manipulated and disrespected. While it would be easy to blame the sales representative and suggest this was an isolated experience, my clear sense was that the salesman's approach came down from above. I will not likely ever buy a car from a Birchwood dealership again, certainly not Birchwood Toyota.
Beware of Service Department. Up sell, up sell, up sell !!! - is their motto. Over 2 years ago, Birchwood Toyota told my mother to "replace water pump" due to "leak found" to the tune of approx $500. This was listed as a red/critical item on their vehicle inspection during a routine oil change. Over the last 2 years, they kept reminding my mom to replace the water pump at every oil change. I had been watching the coolant overflow tank during this period. The fluid level was not going down at all. I recently received a second opinion from a private repair shop that specializes in import vehicles, they said the water pump was fine and did not need replacement and that tiny amounts of coolant seepage was considered normal as most water pumps (including Toyota) are designed/engineered with a weep hole. Talk about looking after their own bottom line and NOT the interest of their customers! This would have been an needless parts replacement and not to mention unnecessarily filling our landfills with perfectly working parts. Not cool Birchwood Toyota.

Brought my vehicle in today for the first service and winter tire change. Booked in just before 10 am, was told it would be 90 minutes; thought to myself that is not bad, so I will wait around. At the 2.5 hour mark I was getting a little upset, first off they don't even change the oil on the first visit and charge you 60.00 for an inspection. My winter tires were in the back of the car on rims and needed to be changed out. It should not have taken that long, and to be charged an enviro-levy of $10.00 for who know why? Other than everyone gets charged this fee, but when you don't even get your oil changed!! Does not make sense to me, really not sure if I want to bring it back there again!!
they list vehicles on auto trader that are upgraded models and then when you contact them, those vehicles aren't available at that price. Bait and switch dealer, avoid at all costs. In response to your response the truck pictured is misrepresented on auto trader as a TRD model and when I speak to your sales people it is absolutely not a TRD model. You have not fixed anything and continue to bait and switch people. Liars gonna lie.

I always get friendly, fast, informative service from Birchwood Toyota. On my last appointment I thought I needed an oil change, however my service advisor told me I did not and went through my next six appointments and what will need to be done. I really feel he went above and beyond and made me feel informed about my vehicle.

I was told I would hear from someone about the leather flaking however no one has . I recently read that there had been a recall to seat warmers up to 2012 models. My model of for runner is 2013. I purchased it in Oct 2012. I wonder if the seat heater is the cause of the leather flaking? I must say that the staff I have met have been very helpful and I have no complaints with any work they have done. For them I would give them a 10 if I could. My problem has been brought to the higher ups and they have not responded as of yet. It would be great if the person in charge of these problems would contact me and not just make me continue to request help from the other staff that have no control over the matter Thank you in advance

The sales staff was great to work with and helped us with every step in getting our new rav4. The rav was purchased in July and then winter came around and was told at the time of purchase it would have a block heater installed. That never happened, It got cold and I looked for a block heater and they never installed one. I spoke with a service manager who told me there is nothing they can do and I would need to be in contact with Toyota Canada. Toyota Canada told me I need to deal directly with the dealership. I spoke with another dealership of Toyota who told me if I installed an aftermarket block heater it would void my warranty. I can't get a straight answer from anyone at any Toyota dealership or get this problem fixed. Not impressed at all with the service from Toyota, very disappointed. I would never recommend this Dealership to anyone due to the lack of poor service.
