Terrible service, major rip off trying to get service done here. $100 an hour to diagnose an issue and It will take them 3 hours or more, and that's before they even start fixing anything. Save your money go anywhere else.

Horrible customer service. Salesman was more interested in talking to his co-workers than he was in selling us a $50,000 vehicle. They didn't order all the extras we requested either. They couldn't even give us a walkthrough on our brand new vehicle before we left the lot with it. Had to wait over an hour for them to even get the vehicle ready when we had a 10am appointment. Absolutely pathetic and very ignorant staff (Except the finance lady, she was a doll). I will never purchase from them again, and I will never recommend anyone to them ever! Truly disappointed with their service and professionalism.

The last time I took my car here, I had a 30,000 km maintenance service. The mechanic had written notes that the service desk couldn't explain, the mechanic wasn't around to talk to, he also miss-quoted the mileage on the paperwork. Dealership maintenance work is generally more expensive, it should leave you feeling like you're in better hands. Sure, they have a shuttle service and a lounge, but those things are superficial and don't add value to the actual maintenance of your vehicle. Kingston Toyota is not terrible, they didn't really do anything bad, but I just don't feel comfortable taking my car there. I'm going to look for a mechanic in town where I can deal directly with the person doing the work and not have to go through service staff who really don't know much about cars.

Jim Kelmon from Sales has sold us our last 3 vehicles and we cannot say enough good things about his attention to detail and willingness to go the "extra mile" for his customers. It is both comforting and stress relieving to go in the the showroom and see a familiar face you can certainly trust when buying a large ticket item. As a registered mechanic I have access to the labour times each job should take from Toyota Canada and third party sources. Every time I run into a job requiring specialty Toyota only tools and try to bring it here they try to charge me more than twice the recommended labour time and refuse to explain why, even if the job is completed in under the recommended time. The service manager is also immediately very rude and defensive, when I am just trying to have a calm polite conversation. While in there I have heard them take advantage of many less knowledgeable people, and when I advised Toyota Canada of the tactics used here, they said; "unfortunately it does sound like some dishonest activity but as a privately owned dealership they can charge, and advise customers with out regulation from us". Hopefully after reading this you will do research of your own before going here on the services your vehicle requires and how long they should take, or take your vehicle else where; because if you think you've paid too much you probably have. Dishonest shops are few and far between and it's unfortunate such a great vehicle is represented so poorly in this town.

I spoke to Matthew Parr (Matt) few times for the purchase of brand new Rav4. Matt offered me 1% off interest rate and $1500 off purchase price over emails. But when i showed up there, he changed the administration fees from $400 to $1000 and wanted to purchase MANDATORY accessories like anti theft system for $1000. He changed the deal entirely even knowing that i just drove all the way from Montreal for the deal we made over email. Matt accepted the fact that he just wanted me there in person to have better chance at scoring a deal. Salespeople like Matt is a must avoid for everyone unless you are okay with dealing with unethical behavior.

We have driven 7 Toyotas bought from Kingston Toyota since 1975. Jim Kelman has been our number one person in the sales department-we trust him 100%. Jim has been exceptionally helpful at all times. Jim has advised me numerous times when I was selling my vehicles privately, including suggesting the selling price. I am very happy to have Jim in my camp. The service department has been very honest with me. On several occasions they recommended against doing certain repairs because they deemed them unnecessary. I brought in a Prius because a red warning light appeared on the display panel-this turned out to be a computer glitch, and required no repair-only diagnostics. I do not know whether or not Kingston Toyota charges more for repairs than do other repair facilities, but I trust Kingston Toyota, and I know that their mechanics are very familiar with the Toyota line and I know they will not recommend unnecessary repairs. We purchased a Toyota Sienna and have almost never gotten it serviced there because of how difficult it is to deal with the service staff. The sales staff on the other hand is great! My dad recommended Jim Kelman to me since he had purchased multiple Toyotas from him due to Jim’s friendly and honest approach. Although I had initially set my sights on another car brand which I felt at the time offered a more stylish look, I owned a Toyota, appreciated its’ reliability, and was willing to check the options. I met with Jim and was likewise appreciative of his candour, humour and warmth. I was also happy to learn that Toyota had moved away from its conservative styling. In the end, a 2019 Sport Corolla felt like the right mix of sturdy reliability and modern styling for me. I had held onto my previous Toyota for 18 years! I liked being payment-free and could always count on my old car to come through for me. That being said, this beautiful new car is a joy to drive! When I arrived, nobody seemed to know or care how to make it happen and the salesperson I had dealt with on previous visits was nowhere to be found. We bought a 2020 corolla and they never offer a shuttle service or rental car during scheduled service's. When I inquired about a ride home prior to the appointment they said 2 pm is too late for that...

Bought my two Corollas here, and most of service work is done here. The shop does a fine job, though they can be a bit over the top on the service sales. Wanting me to replace my cabin air filter once, one of the staff wandered over to where I was sitting, old air filter in hand, with a few leaves balanced on top. It was a bit silly, and unnecessary.

Was laughed out of the store when enquiring about purchasing a new truck. They have nothing to sell and can't place an order for next years models. I realize we are in a pandemic and that there's a chip shortage however the customer service is as poor as it gets. I was offered a pathetic number for my trade in and they didn’t even get up to look at my vehicle. My partner then asked about a specific colour only to be snickered at and told how rare that colour was and that we were dreaming. Went to Bellevile Toyota, received 2K more for my trade, and ordered the truck in the “rare” colour I was after.

Today was my first time visiting kingston Toyota as I bought my vehicle somewhere else. There were a few pros and cons. The staff were pretty friendly and they even called me when I had forgotten my water bottle so I could go back and get it. A few things that weren't thrilling - my oil change took 1.5 hours. The "lounge" is a few chairs with a ton of old magazines and the area didn't smell very pleasant. I likely wouldn't have cared about the lounge area had I not been there so long. Lastly, when you book an oil change through the website I had to wait over a week for an appointment and the site quoted 45$ for the oil change whereas my bill came to 77$. Maybe the website should be more specific about costs? I don't know. I wasn't overly impressed and I'm not sure if I'll go back. My initial reason for even going here was because the oil change was going to be cheaper than my regular mechanic - silly me lol

The recall was booked quickly, communication was great (emails, texts) and the service experience was wonderful. Great job flipping this bad situation around. Well done! ORIGINAL POST: Bought our 2012 Sienna here. Sales team was great, but service has been less than acceptable. My most recent attempt to order a door part was terrible. After 3 days of unanswered phones and no returned messages I gave up. Could not even get a person to order a part and take my money. I phoned 1000 Islands Toyota, immediately talked to a parts person and part was there the next day. Worth the 50 minute drive to Brockville! UPDATE: 1000 Islands Toyota just phoned me and told me that all parts and labour will be covered free of charge even though my warranty has expired! UPDATE 2: Kingston Toyota reached out to me to apologize. They have also changed the service manager, so hopefully better moving forward.

I was very upset with the way the service center treated me as they did not listen to any of my requests. I told them i could not check my phone while at work and they offered to email me. I got no emails but several impatient phone messages. When i returned the call i was told of 4 things that needed doing (and 4 charges) i declined 1and okayed the other 3. When i went to pick up my car there was over $300 (+tx) i was not expecting because they hadn't told me about them! I have never had an issue with other Toyota places before but i will not be returning to this location.

First time dealing with Toyota, but the cars themselves have great reviews, so the used Corolla (2017), nearly sold itself. We worked with Tania and she was a little off on our first meeting, but the masks had just come into effect and it felt awkward everywhere to deal with carsales people. Just don't get a car here. 1. Customer service is awful 2. You'll run into car issues and the mechanics will tell you nothing is wrong and can't fix it. 3. Lawn mower engines 4. Have had brand new 2020 toyota corolla for a couple of months and have several issues with it already that certainly aren't from my driving. (I drive like a grandma) For example transmission slipping when switched from park to drive. Grinding noise coming from something but not the breaks...the breaks actually make a speaking noise but had just been maintenanced December 18th. My car also started to drive much more rough and bumpy feeling after getting maintenanced almost as if they took my tires off and put them back on wrong.

Although it is garunteed they will charge you more than a local mechanic (like any dealership), their service is phenomenal. They're kind, helpful, and they never pressure me into getting any extra services. They make sure everything is done right and they always keep me informed about all of the details. I am so sad to be writing this review as I have been a faithful customer of Kingston Toyota since I bought my new RAV4 in 2013. I have been going to the service department for all my servicing (which to be honest, is minimal) but have always been happy with the customer service I have received - until recently. There is a new person working, his name is Christian and he was incredibly rude to both myself and my husband. I asked for my brakes to be looked at - and they obliged after arguing about it being included in the service, not being included, whatever. It was making a noise - please look at it. They did and Christian tells me I need front and back brakes, rotors and shims - at about $1225 plus tax. I thought that might be pricey (of course being a dealership) and take it to another place for a second opinion. The second place tells me I DO NOT need brakes, and they have SIX-EIGHT MONTHS of life left in them. The noise is coming from a cover (which they fixed for free). So in 24 hours, I went from needing all four brakes replaced at $1225+ to not needing brakes at all. Curious. My husband called Toyota to try and rectify this matter as I was pretty done with them at this point - and he is told that "well yes, she will need brakes at some point". "AT SOME POINT"? With that reasoning I will need a new engine, transmission, tires, at some point. Everyone will. So it should just all be replaced now?! Kingston Toyota offered me the best car buying experience I have ever had. We were in a rush and had a number of demands due to pending business travel and a broken down car. After a brief phone call our salesperson, Joshua Murray, simply said "I'll make it happen" and he did just that. Within 45 minutes we found our vehicle at the price we wanted and financed at two points below the quoted interest rate. The rate was so good we were able to add a solid 6 year warranty with payments that were STILL below the original quote. We were behind the wheel in two days and ready to go...but that isn't the end of the story. My wife and I left our other vehicle on the lot briefly while we ran a couple of errands together in the new Tacoma. Foolishly we did not tell anyone and the dealership was closed upon our return with our old car gated in. With an abundance of class and grace, Josh returned to work after hours, smile on his face, to free our car and save my bacon as my wife and I needed to split so she could head out for urgent work related travel. So far above and beyond that I can't begin to thank Josh and the whole team at Kingston Toyota enough. Josh, Corey, Lisa and everyone behind the scenes were just great. Thanks!

Took my Caravan in to see what I could get for a trade...got there shortly after 9am and left the lot about an hour and a half later. I explained that my budget was lower than most who buy Toyota, but it is what it is. It’s been 3 days and I still don’t know what they’d give me for a trade in. I took a test drive in something that come to find out was 25K more than my budget. The next day I went to CarLoft and within 10 minutes, (Rob I think was his name) was able to give me a valuation very close to what I figured it would be. So even though I may buy a Toyota, it won’t be from Toyota.

Ive delayed time to comment, I wanted to be fair as possible and realize when it comes to dealerships no one is perfect. I understand these people are very busy because Toyota has a reputation of being good. Background..Ok, so my previous (Dodge) model turned out to have repeated design/quality issues, so I decided to try a maker with a better reputation. So Toyota it is.. When my 1-1/2 yr Toyota had the same issue as my previous Dodge at under 20k, I (non publicly) complained to Toyota, after they sent me an online survey. I questioned either the quality of the part, or was I being taken? I told them I was happy with the people but was dismayed at this part needing replacement so soon in 1-1/2 yrs and under 20k. Regardless it was non public. OK..aside, at about same time I had the dealer add a minor added to the car. Turns out the battery tie down bolt was missed on reassembly (which I found that out a few weeks later) and I was lucky the battery didn't go flying into the motor. Anyways, I called and called to make an appointment, both by phone and through online appointment. No call backs, no email returns...nothing, at all. Ever. Several attempts. Despite being polite but direct (and non public) in my remarks, I can only assume I was blacklisted from this dealer...either that or they just don't return calls or online bookings.. I was a little concerned when first buying my Toyota because of the reputation Kingston Toyota had locally. I have been getting service elsewhere now for a year, and can honestly say when I buy new next year, no more Toyota unless I leave the kingston area.

I have driven Toyotas for many years, have my family driving Toyotas and have encouraged friends to buy Toyotas. I'm surprised they haven't offered me a marketing position at head office. I had a favourite salesman to deal with at another dealership over the years but when he moved away from the area, I knew the next time I bought, I wasn't looking forward to starting off cold with someone else. However, when that someone else turned out to be Jim Kelman at Kingston Toyota the transition was seamless. I felt just as comfortable and unpressured as I had with my previous salesman. Even though a car salesman obviously has a goal of selling you a car, I felt Jim always listened to where I was coming from and what the budget could withstand. For multi-time Toyota purchasers, Toyotas pretty much sell themselves, but if you need a salesman to guide you through the possibilities, Jim's an excellent choice. We've gone back to him several times and will be back again.

I made an appointment for 6pm with Tania this past Tuesday around lunchtime. She told me she'd have the car I wanted to see (Kia Forte) pulled around and ready. At 5:15pm she emailed me to say her colleague had swiped the car for his client without asking her permission and that the car may be gone when I got there. I arrived and the other client had test driven the car I wanted and was going to buy it but wanted to check with a relative first, so she was on the phone. I was shown a much more expensive Toyota model and given a terrible trade in amount $1100 lower than another dealership had given me for my current car while I was made to wait for this other client to make a decision. After 45 minutes the other person decided not to buy the car and left. I was so upset about being treated so poorly at this point that I didn't feel comfortable driving the car I came to see for a test drive anymore and I promptly left. I was made to feel less than dirt and that my time meant absolutely nothing to these people. What abhorrent service, and I'm a current Toyota owner too. The whole team involved in my Tuesday evening should be ashamed.

For the first 5.5-6yrs of owning my Corolla I loved coming into Kingston Toyota for my service appointments. The staff always remembered me and knew me right away. Friendly and great, timely service. I even had someone reach out to me when I was laid off to tell me about a job in my career field at that time! Above and beyond. But that was then. The owner change over has taken that friendly service and thrown it out the window. There doesn’t seem to be any of the same staff anymore... I just booked my last service with Kingston Toyota. I waited over an hour with my car sitting in the exact same spot I parked it when arrived for my BOOKED service. I finally just decided to leave. I can understand getting busy but what is the point of making appointments when they are not stuck with? Poor quality of service. On top of that during a pandemic, I saw 5 different staff members walking around inside the dealership with masks around their necks not covering their faces. One girl went into the washroom with her scarf around her mouth and nose but came out with it off and quickly moved it up over her face and mouth when she excited. Nice to know Kingston Toyota’s bathrooms are a mask free zone????‍♀️

If only google would allow you to give 0 stars. Recently stopped in to speak about purchasing a new vehicle and never experienced such poor customer service ever before. When we were finished speaking about prices on different models, we stated how we were going to shop around and will be getting in touch shortly. The salesman runs to the sales manager and complained. Both salesman and manager were quick to come where we were seating and stand over top of my wife and myself to try and intimidate us. They were very hostilely asking if we are from Kingston and why would ever consider buying a car not locally and helping their local business. Let alone they kept demanding I put money down on a vehicle saying they wont be making that colour anytime soon... ( which was a lie since i order a 2021 in a two week time period) They repeatedly refused to print out a pricing on the vehicle and only had to ask 4 times before the salesman come back with the price written on a sticky note. They kept saying come back with the other dealerships paperwork first or only asking how much you wanted to spend on a bi weekly without ever telling the grand total (trying to hide the total price) Last but not least they called me 3 hours after I test drove a vehicle saying I lost their license plate, and wanted me to go drive around to look for it. Even continued to text my phone the next day while I was busy operating at work asking "any work on your dealer plate?". Very unprofessional/ sketchy place, I would be very cautious doing business with them and will never return to this dealership nor will I be recommending this place to any one I know.

i had purchased a used toyota sienna awd from a dealer in toronto, and bought the maximum extended toyota warranty for it. i had all service faithfully done at kingston toyota. there was a strange problem from the beginning where i would get "check engine light" and repeatedly had them check it, but they could never diagnose it. then a year and a half ago, on a routine maintenance, they reported there was an issue seemingly related to the check engine light that suddenly had the potential of a $5,000 repair. not covered by warranty, despite all of the above. i decided it was time to replace the vehicle rather than spend so much on a repair. i considered a vehicle at the same dealership. what did they offer me on tradein, despite all of the above and years of loyalty to their service department? zero. other dealers offered me considerably more. also at the beginning, there was a terrible buzz when i connected my phone to the audio system. despite the maximum extended warranty, i would have to pay full rate for them to diagnose it. there are some nice people that work in service, as well as the courtesy shuttle driver. but the disgusting lack of support has taken this dealership off my list forever. i plan on getting another sienna soon, but it will be from another dealership, and i will be getting all my service elsewhere.

In the 30yrs of buying new cars I have never been treated with no appreciation like I was at this dealership. After buying a new car that comes with a free oil change ,and having to pay to remove scratches myself when it was new. I decided I would just ask for the oil filter and oil and do myself. Well you would think that $25 worth of product, any dealership would be happy to give to a cash paying customer of a new $30,000 + car. Not the case, Bruce the GM rudely told the sales guy to buy it for me And that the dealership would not pay for it unless I brought in so he (dealership) could be reimbursed for the $25. I originally went to Kingston Toyota because I’d heard from people who had dealt with them in the past that their customer service was top notch. Sadly, I’ve had a very different experience. They were friendly and not very pushy when I first dealt with the salesman, which I enjoyed. I started getting bad signs after this; such as the vehicle not arriving within the timeframe I was given, and making it sound like I was being difficult when I couldn’t pick up the vehicle on the one day I was given before month’s end. When I finally went to pick up my vehicle, they had me sign my finance papers and then once in front of my vehicle I was handed the keys and informed that the rims I’d purchased had not arrived yet, which I was assured would happen within the week. I gave some unfavourable remarks a week later in an email survey I’d been sent, at which point a manager got back to me and assured me I’d get my rims in three weeks. Once four weeks had gone by, I started calling, on a bi-weekly basis, asking to speak to a manager. No one ever got back to me. It’s now been four months of me having an incomplete vehicle. I was assured yesterday by a very nice receptionist that a manager would get back to me by the end of the day; that a change in management had caused issues the last several months… Coincidently enough that was the same excuse I’d been given when I was told it would take three weeks. Had I originally been told that they didn’t have the rims, I would have simply gotten aftermarkets, but now I’ve had a partial vehicle for four months and my next step is the better business bureau and then small claims court. Great cars, but avoid this place, Belleville and Brockville both have a dealership not far from Kingston.

Unfortunate experience. I called ahead to gond out how long Parts Dept was open Was told 5:30 pm. I arrived at 5pm. There were 4 staff members there, but they said Parts Dept was closed and everything was locked up. I needed a jug of Antifreeze and asked if there was anyone in the building with z key. They told me to come back tomorrow. I could have gone earlier, but was told 5:30 and was without a vehicle for anothet day as a result.

Purchasing our 2016 RAV4 Hybrid from Kingston Toyota was one of the best decisions ever. Our consultant Laurie Timbrell was very thorough and knowledgeable. I had a million questions since it had been over 12 years since we bought a new vehicle. Every question was answered and explained fully. The service team prepared the car beautifully, exceeding our expectations. We were walked through every step of the buying process. Information about roadside assistance was completely explained. The best information was regarding the warranty. We feel this was the most beneficial. Picking up the vehicle was quick and easy. Laurie had even flagged important information in the owners manual to highlight the importance of some details of features that are new to us. After sale service was a lovely surprise. About a week after buying, we were offered the opportunity to go back in to the dealership and ask questions about anything we were unsure of. The choice of the hybrid option was a good choice. We estimate that our fuel expenses have dropped around 25 to 30%. Yes, I recommend Laurie as a thorough and honest sales rep with Kingston Toyota.

They sent me a spreadsheet to justify their payment but there are clearly 3 vehicles missing off of that spread sheet. Booked a service appointment. It went to a call service. Requested a "waiting appointment" (booked after Ontario moved into 3rd phase)... got to my 8:00 appointment and was told it was not a "waiting appointment" and there were 2 cars ahead of mine. My service would be 1 1/2 hours after the other cars. As for the "waiting appointment" the man at Toyota told me that my service was booked before they had waiting appointments and that they follow Public Health.... my feeling he was feeding me a line... and he had no idea when my appointment was booked. Toyota does not cater to out-of-town customers at all. The customers that can't simply go home or to work to wait for their service. I had another appointment last year and my service took 5 1/2 hours... I had a friend come and we sat in parking lots the whole time. Had we known it would take that long... we would have left Kingston and went home.

I brought my truck in for a recall and was warned by the service manager ahead of time that it may be a cost to me of a few hundred dollars. 2 weeks later I receive a call to say the truck is ready. I pay the $1849 bill and the truck died in the lot requiring an additional $816 to get it running again. For $2665 I would have not done the recall at all. I drove a truck in that ran just fine. I expected it to at least run when I picked it up. I've owned Toyota's faithfully for decades but the love is gone. I'm selling this truck A.S.A.P. The quality of vehicle has deteriorated over the years and Toyota doesn't care at all about good,honest customer service any more.

Recently moved to Kingston from Toronto where I always had my 2017 Prius serviced at the Don Valley North dealership. As mentioned in other reviews, I also called a few times to schedule a service appointment and no one returned my phone call. I ended up driving to the dealership to book the appointment and mentioned I would like the brakes inspected per recommendations from the Don Valley dealership. Dropped it off at 10am a few weeks later to also have my snow tires put on. They called back at 3pm to say the brake pads and rotors needed replacing which I was fine with but they didn't have the parts so it would need to be left overnight and I could pick it up the next day. They didn't have brake pads ? Snow tires on rims took the other dealership an hour and I was on my way. Maybe a few more hours for brake pads? Disappointing experience.

Appointment booked, was told to drop it's in key box in the morning as I start work before they open. Car sat in the service parking all day, keys stayed in the box, no service done, no call nothing. They are incompetent!

I have had my vehicle serviced at this location twice now and it seems like none of the employees that I’ve spoken to really know what they’re doing, there’s always an issue. My first time they lost my keys then gave me the keys to someone else’s car. Then when I bought the keys back because they didn’t work on my car they blamed me for taking them even though they were for the same make and model of car. How is the customers at fault for that!? My second experience was an oil change which I scheduled with them for 7:30. I arrived and to my surprise there is nobody there to work on the car until 8. These people are quite unprofessional and seem to have little respect for the time of their customers. I will not be returning to this dealership regardless of the fact that I drive a Toyota.

I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING LIED TO! On my visit to Kingston Toyota I shared with the salesperson that I'd done my research and was interested in either a 2015 or 2016 Toyota Sienna. The salesperson informed me, "It's not possible to get a 2015 or 2016" and proceeded to talk to me about the 2017 models. I asked for clarification if he meant that it wasn't possible to find those model years at Kingston Toyota or did he mean in general anywhere? He assured me it was not possible. Period. Anywhere. Can someone please explain to me why at EVERY OTHER Toyota Dealership (at least 5) I spoke to they couldn't understand the reasoning of this salesperson's statement. Further, they were very willing to compete for my business. I did inform the original salesperson I dealt with of my ongoing negotiations with other Toyota Dealerships and he assured me his Manager did NOT want to beaten on pricing by anyone else. After declining an offer by Kingston Toyota that was THOUSANDS of dollars above various offers from 3 other Toyota Dealerships I invited Kingston Toyota to present another offer in a timely manner. Five days later I received a generic email from Kingston Toyota stating they wanted to assist in making my vehicle purchase a pleasant experience and would follow up by phone in a few days. That was over 2 weeks ago. I know I am going to purchase a Toyota vehicle...I have my financing in place...Kingston Toyota has proven themselves unreliable. I'm happy to travel to an Ontario Toyota Dealership that actually values customers.

I recently decided that it is time for a new car. I browsed the lot and spotted a 2015 Corolla. I booked a test drive for Saturday morning so that my partner could join me and test the cars as well. Jennifer was very friendly and helpful in booking the test drives. We arrived Saturday morning and she had the cars ready, and she had chosen another car that she thought we may have been interested in as well. She was pleasant and helpful for the morning, though we found it odd that she needed to join us on our test drive due to "new policy". While testing the 2015 Corolla we experienced significant road noise and asked Jennifer questions about it, she assured us that we would like the Camry more. We asked if the vehicle had been in any accidents, if it had been regularly maintained, etc. She told us that as far as she knew it was fine but that she could get the CarProof Report for us in addition to the service history. We asked to see this multiple times throughout the test drive and as soon as we got back to the dealership. Jennifer insisted that we try the Camry immediately. During the test drive we asked questions about the battery. I am not familiar with hybrid vehicles and I depended on the salesperson to give me information about these things. I asked about the cost to replace the battery and she had no idea, so she deflected the question by telling me that she has been selling for years and years and years and has had 1 person have to get their battery replaced. I asked about maintenance of the battery, Jennifer had no idea and told use the same thing. That did not answer our questions about the hybrid vehicle!! We left the dealership at roughly 1pm to go to an appointment elsewhere. Before leaving we expressed that we would like to price the 2015 Corolla vs a new 2017 Corolla. We were assured that when we arrived back at 1:45pm James would have all of our pricing options completed for us to look over. We arrived back at 1:45pm and met with James. After waiting in his office for a few minutes he arrived with no paperwork in hand. He had not priced out the vehicles according to our specifications and had only begun building our car online the moment he sat down. Only after trying to sell us a 2018 Corolla did James give us the Carproof report for the original 2015 that I had been interested in. SURPRISE- car had been into an accident and we had only been told AFTER test driving it and AFTER pricing it out. Because of this accident and the significant number of kms on the vehicle, I did not feel it was worth the asking price. I asked James if the price was as low as he could go and he laughed, explained that the internet drives sales these days (Why is this relevant??), and told us that he could not take a dollar off the price. He didn't even offer to add anything to the vehicle to make it a little more enticing. I told James we were no longer interested in buying the vehicle unless the price dropped significantly and we walked away. From the moment I met James I knew that he was not taking me seriously because I appeared to be young. I walked into Toyota ready to buy any vehicle I wanted yesterday and walked out with a horrible view of Toyota because of the way James treated me and my partner. The sales department was rude, condescending, and did not take me seriously. I was highly offended with the way I was treated by James yesterday. After visiting a few different dealerships in town and testing a few comparable cars I am confident that I don't need a Corolla. A better priced Civic or Elantra will do just fine. The respect that we received from Patrick at Hyundai and Bob at Honda was EXACTLY how a customer should be treated when trying to buy a car. James acted the whole time like we were a burden and he was doing us a favour. Toyota has lost a LONG TIME customer who has always valued quality and service. Unfortunately the quality of a Toyota just can't win me over when it comes with the disappointing service offered at Kingston Toyota.

Purchased a new 4Runner a while back and did not get rust proofing done yet due to the guy telling me it voids the warranty. After calling Toyota HQ this is not the case. It seems to be a scare tactic to buy the electronic rust module they sell for $1400 that you can get for $150 elsewhere. Also look at YouTube and do your research as they are a big scam to add on dealer fees. He also told me that if it is Krowned or Rust Checked I will be charged an extra $80 and hour for labor. Best bet is to take your vehicle to Ottawa Toyota dealers where they work on vehicles for the same hourly fee no BS added.

Just under a month ago, I bought a used 2015 Toyota Corolla and have had enough time with it now to give a legitimate review. The vehicle was cleaned immaculately when I picked it up from the shop, and it has worked extremely well for me ever since. About a week in it had a minor hiccup with the battery starting to sputter, however I phoned Kingston Toyota and they quickly got the vehicle in and changed the battery at no extra cost. Furthermore, salesman Jim Kelman was fantastic throughout the process, and made purchasing the vehicle tremendously smooth. Set up an appointment during the pandemic to drive a car. From Sharbot Lake...that's a 70min drive. I asked prior to leaving if the car had been in an accident and smoked in. The sales manager (Thompson ?) Replied within 1 min of my email with 2 x no's. Meaning he never checked. After arriving for 3pm appointment, the doors were locked. I waited 10 min and emailed and called. At 3:20pm the girl opened the door. The manager was far from polite, did not want to be there and complained about his staff, stating it's hard to get good help these days. The girl was twice as polite as that guy. Upon entering the car, I could smell cigarette smoke and even saw burn marks on the roof of the vehicle where people throw cigarettes out the vehicle. I'm glad I wasted my time driving to Kingston, treated rudely and have incompetent people waste my time. I will never return and I will do everything in my power to cost them as much money as I can. I am shocked at Kingston Toyota would employee such a sales manager

My daughter's Corolla 2013 was in for service Dec 22 at 49,643 km; aside from necessary services (oil change, front and rear breaks service, etc.), the dealer also carried two extra, and needless, services: adding water removal additive to the fuel tank (CDN$39.99 plus tax) and replacing the dust and pollen filter (CDN$52.95 plus tax) - the same filter was changed during the previous service at the same dealership - on Mar 9, at 38,658 km. Exploring the fact that my daughter is not yet experienced with car services and what needs to be done and when. Very disappointing.

Well she was rude, disrespectful and just awful to deal with. Didn’t give me the time of day. She was condescending and even bad mouthed a manager who I found to be very helpful. The sales manager and young finance representative I talked to were fantastic and that’s the only reason I leave a good review. The finance representative did not want my poor experience with the sales staff to reflect poorly on the entire dealership. So it will not. The dealership itself is fantastic. It is unacceptable that you have a service appointment that should take around one hour and you lose the use of your car for the whole day. Mr. Matt was the salesperson we were talking with about our selection of Corolla LE 2020 on lease. The Sales manager along with him were accommodative but didn't want to give some good discount. But the interaction was professional and still with mutual respect. Again the fact that in Toyota Credit/Finance there was another guy Mr. Christian, who was straightforward but was apparently on a hurry. Additionally he was sugarcoating the finance with something unique. The vehicle was delivered in 4 days after we choose one unit. Let's hope for the best.

I purchased my 2015 Carolla with Kingston Toyota around a year ago. The purchasing process was fantastic. However, a few weeks ago I was having brake issues and brought it in to be serviced. Dealership mentioned I needed Rotors and Pads for both the front and back of the car, and quoted me $1000. I ended up buying the parts and changing them with a friend today. Not only were the rear brakes completely fine, the front rotors were as well. Unless labour to change brake pads costs $800 - this place tried to tip me off.

Charging me a lot . I went for regular check service and I asked for alignment. They charged me 125 twice (250) plus taxes 125 for checking the alignment and another for doing it without telling me the cost before. They are offering services with double the price . I have not find that anywhere.

Negotiated the best price I could, then went to Ottawa, and the Ottawa dealer beat the price by $2200 on the exact same car. Asked Kingston to price match it and they said their price was their price. So, I bought it in Ottawa. Love the car, would have liked to buy locally, but it not worth an additional $2200.

I've had previous positive experience with kingston Toyota, but am very disappointed with my recent experience. Bought a 2017 corolla, spent all afternoon arranging insurance, down payment, setting up financing, etc. Was told they would rush everything for me and should be good to pick it up on 48-72 hours. 11 days later after multiple phone calls and emails it's finaly ready. I get that with covid there is going to be delays, and honestly if it was just the delay that would be fine. But, they had it for over an extra week and when I picked it up it hadn't been cleaned, the fuel tank was half empty, and the rather expensive rust protection module has not been installed.

Service here is a joke. They no longer have the online reservation system so you have to email their customer service. The customer service rep that emails back is curt, doesn't include full information (price, ability to wait or use the shuttle) so you have to email several times with each email getting shorter and ruder. As I was driving to the dealership for my service, I had a feeling something was going to go wrong, only to find out that when I arrived, they had scheduled me in for the week earlier. They asked me if I could leave my vehicle all day for a routine service and oil change and pick it up at 5. Its nice they tried to fit me in but I am sorry, not everyone is retired and some of us have to work and need our vehicles. This is one of several many service appointments gone wrong with this place. I am out and never coming back.

I want to share my experience from about 4 mnth ago. So management can improve their policy. So we may not need to go to other cities. The service advisor was not good about client communication and providing info. She seemed like she wouldn’t care. We had to pay oil change, service fee and also for quotation fee which we wouldn’t have to if we were informed properly, and it was really expensive. They don’t reduce quotation fee even if you have your car repaired there. We didn’t even consider to have the car fixed there. And the estimation was extremely high. I had my car towed to Toronto and repaired there. It costed much less even with towing. I think this branch management has to review their policies if they really want to make money. Otherwise they can make money only from “quotation/estimation fee”. I was planning to buy a rav4 hybrid, but I will most probably buy from another dealer either in Ottawa or Toronto.

Not happy since new owners took over. They have got rid of there best staff. Miss the old Service Manager Brian , the greeter Brian Crawford, finance and insurance advisor Wendy, and the always cheerful and personable Lori. The receptionist is overworked, and the service desk understaffed, yet do their best to be courteous despite all the staff shortages. I don't think any mechanics have been let go, but the best part's manager I have dealt with in my life has moved over to Lexis, along with their best mechanic, Robert. I am nervous to get my two Toyota vehicles serviced at this dealership now.

When I got back into my car, my spouse told me that she had trouble opening the suitcase (2/3). So I sent an email, which I'm still waiting for the answer, My wife called and there nobody told her to come to the garage to see what he could do. I go back 3 weeks later because I was on vacation, for a change of tire, so I speak of this incident to the person from the services ... No trace of my email, no trace of the phone call. No report. A broken part not taken as a guarantee? I'm still not stupid at this point), the person says that either I live with her. Otherwise it's $ 390 + labor ... How is it possible that there is no record of this incident despite an email, calls and an investigation? It's still weird that after the maintenance of the vehicle, I can no longer open my suitcase ... In addition the staff is celon me rather rude, a rather round gentleman, with white shirt who is in an office just behind the counters was not pleasant by opening 2 times the suitcase in succession and saying "the suitcase is open every time now ". It still lacks a piece of plastic ...! In any case, a pity that it is the only Toyota in Kingston because otherwise it is on that I will not return. I had always gone to this dealership to service my Toyota since I moved to Kingston from out West. I had a problem with cracking and noisy drive belt and got it replaced. The same problem came back a year after. After back and forth to this dealership and after a "thorough" (so I thought) investigation, was told I might need to change the AC clutch which was going to cost me >500$. I thought I'd run the AC to failure and have the drive belt replaced again. The same problem came back again. I decided to google it and see if there is any other owner having a similar problem. After 5 min. of searching, I found that there was a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) issued for this problem a few years ago. So, this was a common problem with my car model, which prompted Toyota to inform its service departments about it and how to fix it. Actually, there was a defect on the drive pulley and Toyota had issued a new pulley design to fix it. So, I brought my car to another mechanic with the TSB and after the pulley was changed, no more noise! I spent ~300$ to get my drive belt changed twice and I could have spent hundreds more if I had gone to change the AC clutch. All this for a problem that Toyota has issued a TSB for. I don't know how it's possible for the mechanic at this dealership failed to know this. Needless to say, this Toyota dealership lost my trust and I don't bring my Toyota here for service anymore. I filed a complained to Toyota and this dealership tried to contact me. As far as I am concerned, I am done with this dealership. There were a couple other issues with this dealership and I think them being the only Toyota dealership in Kingston, people really have no choice but to put up with them.

Since my review keeps getting deleted, I will keep posting it, daily if necessary. Do NOT buy a vehicle from Kingston Toyota. The shopping experience is destroyed by their pushy and rude sales associates. After waiting for what seemed like an eternity for service, the salesman came back and said, the payments will be $384 bi-weekly. When I asked him for additional information, like how much the truck cost, finance rate, terms etc., he became belligerent. He huffed and sighed and said fine, and went to get a breakdown from the manager. When I said that I would look it over, he said it was confidential information and couldn’t leave the showroom. What are they trying to hide? He repeatedly asked, “do you want the truck or not, like he was doing me a favour. Do yourself a favour and shop elsewhere. Sincerely, taking my business elsewhere.

Now both my sons have purchased Toyotas as well. Jim Kelman has always provided great sales assistance and advice. My experience here was torrible. On Dec 10, I sent my 2007 Sienna to Kingston Toyota because there was re-call. They messed up on everything. 1. My car was ~280000km, but they typed in ~90000km in the system, which made my car history looks very suspicious. I knew this because I went to another Toyota dealership to fix the next problem created by Kingsotn Toyota. 2. The recall was on the power sliding doors. Unfortunately, I found the auto doors only work manually after I got back. I called them, they denied, and said it happened after I left. I moved to Mississauga already, so it is not convenient to drive back to Kingston Toyota and let them check it. Eventually, I have to spend money in Mississauga to fix the problem. The Toyota dealership in Mississauga told me the problem was the signal cables were not connected correctly. The first problem shows they are irresponsible, and the second problem shows they are not trained enough to fix our cars. I trust the reliablity of Toyota, but you can not trust Kingston Toyota dealer.

Just picked up my 2nd new vehicle from Kingston Toyota/Jim Kelman sales person. I wanted to share my very positive experience once again dealing with Jim. He is very honest, knowledgeable and helpful and always makes you feel at ease. I highly recommend you asking for him if going to Kingston Toyota. I'm sure there are other great reps there as well. The Legacy

I've worked with Kingston Toyota over a number of years, as my parents and I have almost exclusively used Toyotas since the early 1990's. I've always found our Toyotas to be reliable, comfortable, and affordable. When it comes to the Kingston dealership, I have two stories. The first one is when my mom bought a Toyota Echo back when they were first released. After a few months of driving it, she ended up hating it, due to its light weight, which meant it felt really squirrely when driving in high winds. The manager of the store, after being told of this story, offered her an upgrade to a 2006 Corolla, without paying anything except for the difference in cost. No loss of value or anything like that. Considering that there was no mechanical defect with the car, this was a really good offer, and my mom loves the Corolla, and has been driving it since. . . As for me, I bought a 2001 Toyota Celica a couple of years ago, and though I loved the car, it turned out that the car has a major defect - its engine was burning a litre of oil per 1000km! Because the car was eight years old, it only had a 30 day powertrain warranty, so when I found out about this after the warranty expired, it was rather terrifying. However, the service manager ended up offering me an engine replacement - for free! Because of this, I ended up getting the car with a newly refurbished engine, which would have probably cost the dealership more than what they got for the car after the trade-in. These two stories, combined with the excellent customer service I get when I visit there, is why I'm a Toyota fan for life. . . For those who have had bad experiences, I'm sorry to hear that happened. I'm not sure the circumstances as to why they didn't treat you the same way. I've had similar experiences with the Kingston Nissan, so it's possible that you ran into a couple of bad apples. I encourage you to give them a second try (and no, I do not work for Toyota).

Worst CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVEN SEEN !!!!!! I had the pleasure of dealing with Ron he was really great we got a great deal done fast and efficiently and I was driving my truck the next day. When dealing with anyone here always ask for Ron!! UPDATE: Ron no longer works there, I was told nobody named ron ever worked there until i showed them proof then the excuses started. Still waiting on Kingston Toyota to get the parts that were back ordered when I bought my brand new truck. I’ve never had such a hard time with a company ever. They don’t seem to care that one of their clients has been without parts they paid for for coming on 2 years !!!! When I purchased my truck there was a note from factory in the glove box the dealship didn't even know about!!!!! It explained that a handful of parts were missing due to supply shortages. I had no problems as I figured they’d be along before to long. These parts are standard equipment nothing fancy or special. We’ve made countless phone calls and visits to the dealership in person. Each time it’s a new excuse multiple phone messages never returned. It’s so disappointing. The lack of organization and compassion is heartbreaking. I bought a Toyota because people speak so highly of the brand and I love the truck however I’ve had nothing but issues with the Kingston dealership. I’ve tried and tried to be easygoing and relaxed waiting for them to make it right to no avail. customer is non existent. NEVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM THEM BUYER BEWARE!!! LOVE MY TOYOTA JUST WISH I HAD BOUGHT IT FROM ANOTHER DEALERSHIP.

I'd like to take this opportunity to praise the service I have had since 1981 from Jim Kelman at Kingston Toyota. All of our family vehicles have been purchased from Jim. Recently, both of our kids have purchased their first vehicles, and Jim took care of them as well. They were able to purchase reliable, low km, used 2014 Matrix's right off the lot. In one case, Jim searched for around 6 months to get the Matrix my son needed for his first vehicle. JIm has proven to be honest, tuned in to his customers needs and he follows through with after purchase support if needed. I consider Kingston Toyota to be my dealership and Jim has been our main point of contact with the dealership for over 37 years. I would strongly recommend Jim and Kingston Toyota for your next vehicle purchase.

When I originally wrote this review, I hit 2 stars when I truly meant to select 3 because 3.5 was not an option. Computer problems caused a long delay Ownership could not be transferred (it was the next day). The detailing of the car was not as good as we would have liked. However, by the time that we could accept delivery, the detail shop had closed for the day. It was discovered that a key was missing so a new one had to be ordered. This was a bit of a concern but we subsequently learned that the missing one had been located and was personally delivered by our sales person.
