I have dealt with The Car Store on Main a couple of times over the last year or so. Both times I have come away completely satisfied with my purchase. They offer used vehicles at reasonable rates. They will also search for the best financial institution to allow for credit rebuilding, if applicable, as this was my case. What sets them above others, in my opinion, is the fact that their products look and perform like new. Many of their vehicles are still under manufacture's warranty to coincide with their own in-store warranty. Plus, your gas tank will leave their lot full. Every member of their staff is approachable, listens to your needs/situation and will do their best to help you purchase a vehicle. In my opinion, you won't have a better used car purchase experience anywhere else. Tony, Al, Elves and all those who make The Car Store on Main what it is, thank you so much. BUYER BEWARE. Paid $9000 for a 2006 Volvo XC that had an "approved" Manitoba inspection report. Within 10 minutes of driving the car off the lot, the passenger mirror had to be repaired. Driving it back to Alberta the next day, anti-skid repair and engine repair lights came on. Took it in for repair and it needed $4000 of repairs before it would pass the Alberta inspection. Dealer took zero responsibility and stood behind their SOLD AS IS policy. If you still want to buy a car from here, I strongly recommend a third party inspection. And don't be lured into paying the "service fee" they add on for no reason.

I got my car Sept 2014, (2010 Santa Fe) I will be calling them to fix a part with the extending warranty I bought with my car purchase, I am very pleased with my car (LOOOVE IT), it runs excellent, the part that needs to be fixed is very minor. Its a totally rewarding car shopping experience. Great prices, great service. I won't be buying a new car ever again. No.pressure sales. Great variety of vehicles, great quality. I was looking for a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. I shopped at 4 different Dealers and felt awesome with the deal I got. I saved thousands of dollars. This was the only dealer that had replaced the wiper blades, tires and brakes, oil change and filters. Vehicle safety completed is above the minimum. Great after sale service second to none. I realize buying a used car is risky and problems can occur any time. In this particular case, I had an engine issue which required taking the engine apart right down to the cam shafts. That's not my gripe. (Occurred within 5 weeks) The sales guy (Elvis) was decent - they use the usual lines you'd expect, "if you have problems come back and we'll help fix them" - all good. What makes this place sketchy is the owner. After I had come back and expressed some dissatisfaction the owner WENT OFF ON ME. He lost it. My expectations may have been too high but there really is no excuse. Another line I remember is: "We said the car came with two way command start - we never said it worked. It's your responsibility to test everything." I think a tiny bit more patience would have made this a much more civil experience.

I bought a Tiguan here in December. the car was advertised at Kijiji as follows: Every vehicle sold is eligible for the Advantage Plan: 30 Day Guarantee on all MB Safety certificate related items. CarProof Vehicle History Report Original owner's manual 2 sets of keys Replacement of lost, stolen or broken keys Wholesale access to all other Miscellaneous Accessories (i.e. Wtr Tires, rust proofing, all misc vehicle accessories / parts, etc ...) And of course a full tank of gas. I was not asked if I want the advantage plan. it was simply written into the invoice with CAD 700. I am German and I am not very familiar with the tricks of the car dealers here. I only noticed it later and then asked that the invoice be rewritten without the plan. the boss refused and was not particularly friendly. I said either you change it or you can keep the car. a little angry he did that. they didn't even say thank you and goodbye. The following things were wrong with the car: 1. The last service was 15 months old. but I was told it was remade. So I had the service done at my own expense. 2. there were also no entries in the service book. So I could not check whether everything that the manufacturer prescribed was done. 3. I had to buy new wipers, the old ones were junk. 4. The car probably also had one or more accidents. you can see it on the badly fitted front and rear bumpers. there was nothing in the carfax. I was perhaps a bit careless and should have looked at everything more closely. But buying a used car is also a matter of trust. that's why you buy from a dealer.

Both my sister and I have cars from the car store and are extremely satisfied with our vehicles. I got an awesome warranty package and they have deals on winter tires for cars bought through them. DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! Just found out that the car I bought from this place back in 2009, Mazda 3, paid $15,000 for it(market value), was in an accident that cost $12,000 to fix, SURPRISEEE!!!!!!!! 5 years later my car is worth nothing.You should give me my money back!! My car came from Ontario and they showed me a report that you didn't show me, I checked with MPI and they didn't have anything on the car either. Don't trust them!!

Don't be fooled by this '4' Star Google rating as this dealership prefers customers that are easy targets for bait-and-switch tactics or who can easily be lured in by add-ons. The salesman, Al Boulet, seemed like a great guy when the deal started; however, things quickly turned around when it came time to negotiate a fair price on the deal. After being insulted about my lack of knowledge about the market and finance, I had enough. Mr. Boulet refused to take my 'cash' offer, which was only $400.00 lower than the listed price. Mr. Boulet insisted that I finance and that they would not be accepting a cash offer of any amount. This is when the red flags were raised about this dealership. Protect yourself and please shop elsewhere. The contract that was offered was beyond shady and instead of coming to an agreement for an offer, I was told that they do not negotiate price. This is not listed on their website at all. Also, please watch out for the CarProof report when it says 'Accident Free' as there has been many horror stories in the past about this dealership manipulating them. Please go to any other dealership in the city because this place is full of shade so beware.

Had the worst car buying experience ever with these jokes! Bought a 2005 Infiniti, within days I found the gas gage was broken. Also when I bought the vehicle they promised to fix a wheel bearing which never happened! Made me bring in the vehicle on 5 separate occasions to fix the gas gage and wheel bearing which never happened and completely wasted my time! I would never recommend someone to buy a vehicle from these jokes!!!

We had a great experience picking up our used 2013 Mazda CX-9 here. The price was fair (if you do your research across the country using Autotrader, you will know this), no "haggling" games, easy & great financing, and some neat additional features like lost/damaged key replacement, full tank of gas etc. It's a boutique used car experience and the place was busy with other people purchasing great used cars as well, which is a good sign. Our car was in mint condition with low kms, so they are clearly selective about what they bring in and know what's going to move fast. I'd go back for my next used car!

Like the Monte Python "Cheese Shop" skit, In my experience, the advertised product is never there. Three weeks ago I drove there to see a 2012 VW Golf. When I arrived, they claimed, "oh we just sold that." Two weeks later, the same Kijiji ad is still posted. I call them again and they say, "oh, we just sold that a couple days ago". Looking further onto their website, I see no less than three other VW TDIs advertised that aren't there. When you show up in person, they will steer you toward an ersatz vehicle, a bit older, with more mileage, for the same price. Call before you go to ensure that the advertised car is indeed there.

Just bought an '09 Jetta from here and had a wonderful experience. We found an advertisement for the car on Kijiji and called them to see if we could come see it. They even brought the car inside for us to look at, which was a bonus considering there was a blizzard. Upon getting to the store we were very impressed to see the selection of cars, there were very impressive makes and all of them looked very nice (they specialize leased cars with one owners). The men who helped us were lovely, not pushy at all. They were very helpful, gave us all the information we needed and answered all of our questions. Will definitely keep The Car Store on Main in mind for any future car purchases!

We reached out to The Car Store back in March and Elvis was fantastic. He made a great deal work for a trade and was very helpful and professional. We live 2 hours away from their location and they were very accommodating and great at getting things done before we came in to finalize everything. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a second key for our new vehicle and so had to order one. Once we were notified that the key was ready for pick up, I called ahead 2 days before driving into the city to make sure the key was ready and then found out we have to contact another dealer ourselves to make arrangements to have the key programmed. The gentleman who answered the phone was not the Sales Associate and his reply was “well if the Sales Associate says the key is in then it’s in”. After talking to the dealer where we had to book an actual appointment 2 weeks later because they need the key and car together to program and had no earlier opening. So we decided to swing by and grab the key quick before heading to another appointment we had in the city because I had called to let them know we were coming. Our first issue was the fact that they made us wait at least 40 mins because the Sales Associate was with another client. How are there other employees but they literally can’t do anything? Then when Sales Associate was finally free to see us they DID NOT have the key. Basically they made us be 1 hour late for our other more important appointment to tell us that the reason we came wasn’t even there. Now we have to drive in 3 separate times to get something that should have come with our purchase. The company made a great first impression but the follow up seriously is lacking. I would suggest caution when dealing with this company. As a side note Elvis is still a great employee and we highly recommend him but if you are not dealing with him directly then be careful. UPDATE: To add to the saga we just found out that instead of The Car Store running a credit check with just 2 companies as he had asked, he ran it with 6 companies, goodbye credit score -62 points later.

Great place to get a used vehicle as it came with new tires and brakes and it honestly drives like new. My Husband and I had been looking for another van. we searched every car dealership in Winnipeg and when we went to The Car Store on Main the first time the staff was very friendly came out and opened the vehicle for us, let us look at it and talked to us. we continued our search and 3 wks later went back to The Car Store on Main. Al greeted us and remembered us! he got the van ready and we took it for a test drive. I really liked that they were up front with us about the vehicle. it wasn't like going to a dealership, we didn't get the sales pitch and the pressure to buy the vehicle right then and there (which we did anyway) or the hassle of negotiating the price, they didn't trash their competition like so many dealerships do. Their finance person was really great to deal with. the van was ready when they said it would be and they offered to come after hours to accommodate us for pick up. a really great group of people to deal with and a great price on the van we purchased as compared to other dealerships. a great experience with out the pressure that we got from other dealerships when we purchased our last vehicle. It was a great experience dealing with them.

Out of necessity, my wife and I decided to have a second vehicle for family use. We opted for a pre-owned crossover and among those posted by dealers on line, we were able to find several units that meet our requirements such as make, year, model, trim and color. We found the 2009 TOYOTA RAV4 Sport offered by THE CAR STORE ON MAIN the most reasonable as to price, odometer reading and the overall condition of the vehicle. Upon entering THE CAR STORE ON MAIN, Allen, the salesman, went out of his way to greet and made us comfortable. I told him right away the specific vehicle we were interested with and just within few minutes getting the vehicle and paperwork ready, we went for a test drive. Allen was so accommodating and very professional as he took time to explain everything we have to know about the vehicle. He did not put pressure on us nor give us any hint to decide right away. For a pre-owned RAV 4 in its excellent condition, he does not have to, as the financial package being offered to us was very reasonable. Our experience with Elves, the finance person, went on smoothly. He was so professional in explaining the financial options which we could choose and in answering our queries. Within reasonable time, we were able to finish all the financial paper works which included the car protection package without any pressure on us. I look forward that THE CAR STORE ON MAIN would be doing business with our circle of friends as I can not wait to share this pleasurable experience. It is interesting to note perhaps that I was lucky enough not to delay my visit to THE CAR STORE ON MAIN as there were two other interested buyers of the same RAV4 Sport who came after us.

Buyer beware!! The ad sounded great: No gimmicks or games, aggressive prices & every vehicle sold is eligible for the ''Advantage Plan''. Everything seemed to be as advertised and I told the salesman(Charles) I wanted to make an offer on a Honda CR-V. Charles then told me their prices are not negotiable and asked me how I wanted to pay - cash or financed. I said I was prepared to look at any payment plan that offered the best final price. He then wrote down the advertised price, added $799 and then added 12% (gst & pst) to give a grand total cash price. When I asked what the $799 was all about he explained that was the fee for the Advantage plan and it was compulsory & non-negotiable. The finance price was outlined in a similar fashion but the advantage plan price was reduced to $599. I should have recognized these compulsory hidden fees as a warning sign - but I fell into the trap and moved on to try to negotiate a deal with Elves. After some back and forth discussions and after an undisclosed financing incentive was applied - we agreed upon a final purchase price for the vehicle (plus taxes). I went back the next day to sign the finance agreement & pick up the vehicle. I was shocked when I noticed on the contract that the extra $599 fee was added onto the agreed upon final price. So much for the no games claim in their advertising. Elves refused to remove the fee and said if I didn't want to pay what they wanted they would sell the vehicle to someone else. So much for ''no pressure''. I was so upset - I left. Followup to the response from the un-named owner: Rather than addressing my concerns about misleading advertising, hidden fees, games & gimmicks, and high pressure sales tactics the owner decided to spin a rambling yarn full of inconsistencies and false statements. They even claimed to be able to read my mind as to my motivation for writing my review. As to the ridiculous "confused" quote from Charles and the comment that Charles offered me the exact same price as the final discounted price from Elves; all I can say is that Charles has me confused with some other customer. I stand by my original review and I have nothing to gain or lose by honestly telling of my experience with this business. I will leave it up to the readers of the review & response to decide who is telling the truth.

Had an excellent experience with Charles from sales and the illustrious financials gent at The Car Store. This is the second time I've purchase a car here and I highly recommend. Their whole team was extremely helpful with my purchase. Charles made some great suggestions to suit my tastes better with some modifications prepurchase, at their cost, since I was using their financing. I definitely appreciate their warranty package that allows you access to parts at their cost value, it has been beneficial both with this new purchase as well as with the previous car I purchased from here. They were even good enough to help me get my old car safetied prior to selling despite their garage not being a public service shop. Their finance guy was stellar, making sure I got the best financing package for what I needed. I would certainly come here again as the team is neither pushy nor lax in their interactions and I found them to be very trustworthy and willing to accommodate where requested as well as going above and beyond to make sure this vehicle/purchase was to my liking.

My number one issue with dealers is they try to sell me on things i don't want or need. These guys were not your typical dealers = no BS. If you liked it great, if not, on to other options - good options too! And talk about fast close! They were honest about the vehicles and did not try to convince me I was getting a good deal for prices over my budget. I ended up with a great car that had lows kms and solid overall condition. After having the car for a couple months they are setting me up with some rims to top it off for a very competitive price. I highly recommend the Car Store if you're tired of wasting time with dealers who will never meet you on your level or aren't straight forward. Great experience buying a vehicle from Charlie and the team. They didn't have the vehicle we wanted on the lot and weren't pushy on trying to sell us something else. Instead, they looked around for exactly what we wanted, kept us very well informed and up to date on the shipping status of the vehicle they found for us. They also got us a great price on the vehicle - much lower than other dealerships in the city. Couple weeks after purchasing the vehicle the blower motor started to squeak. It would've been a factory warranty repair but they insisted I bring it to them to have it fixed. They gave me a loaner car for the day and even fixed a nail in one of my tires all for free. I will be going back. Highly recommend them.

On first impressions, the dealership seems professional. I bought a car from there that had a few issues (that should have failed mpi safety certification) they said they were going to fix it which they did (But not all of them); 3 weeks after I bought the car. They also sold me the car with a punctured tire and kept on convincing me that there were no issues at all with it and all it needed was air (obviously that wasn’t the case). When I told them the car started shaking at high speeds and during breaking, they told me it’s probably because of the tire (which again wasn’t the case). All in all I would never recommend anyone to do business with them unless you like having a hard time. Ps. I’m being nice with this review.

I knew something was different about this place when I walked in. Instead of a bunch of 25 year old dudes wearing shiny new suits, these guys were dressed like people you could talk to and have an actual conversation witout feeling pressured. My oberservation was correct. It started with Al, who told me that Sadly the White on White Murano I wanted had been sold that day, but that he had another one, a year newer, recently traded in, and almost ready to go. FOR THE SAME PRICE ALMOST I walked in on a lunch break, in a rush as usual, and AL took care of me stat. No waiting, twiddling my thumbs, They asked me questions to see if the car was compatible with my lifestyle (even though i was pretty much already sold on it) they offered me a water, and we went over the details. Then I met Elves, the cool, straight forward finance guy, who didnt tell me only what I wanted to hear, he told me everything I needed to know to make an educated decision. In the end I bought a mint 2011 Murano with 70km, got a good trade in for my car given the damage it already had, and got the Murano for under 19k. Killer. Oh yeah, and I bought the extended warranty..Not because I got coerced into it, more because given my knowledge of car repairs, all the bells and whistles that come with a Murano SV, and my unwillingness to have a savings account dedicated to just CAR REPAIR, it worked for me. Purchased two vehicles from tjese guys. First one no problems. Second one was a different story. Had them install a car starter which didn't work properly from the beginning. Two months later it failed. After bugging them to get their installer to fix it they finally got me in. I have a feeling that because I forgot to give them my valet key for my car that I purchased from them that I traded in for my second car I purchased through them. I probably would've just been brushed off.
