I'm glad I was only dropping off a customers vehicle and not my own personal car, also don't understand how the place can be so big and yet so hard to find an employee.

Hi, I get my car serviced at Jim Gauthier Chevrolet on MC phillips. After servicing my car they gave me a carwash coupon. I was told I can use that coupon any time Monday to Friday. I came from other end of the city so I called today Oct 19, 2020 before leaving my home to ask if they are doing car washes for coupon. They told me yes we are open today and will be doing it. I went there and waited for my turn. As a representative approached me he took my coupon and after few minutes he told me we are not doing car washes today. Its down. If someone has called it mean he really wants to make sure that you guys were doing it. Give me a very good reason why should I come all the way to Mcphillips and not got some were close to my place. That was an example of very poor customer service. He was not even apologetic. Surely that was my last visit.

Ever time I go there nothing works out 1: Cars body work needed to be redone 2: installed the same part even though it was damaged 3: the shuttle services cant pick me up before the body shop closes and didn’t call to tell me that. I had to call and tell them because the body shop closes at 5:30pm and they are open till 6

Full of empty promises. Adam McAlpine is very hard to get a hold of. No one from the dealership will reply to my emails. He gave me the impression that the car was under my name and my mother was willing to co-sign, but turned out the contract was all in her name. The very pushy truck driver who delivered the car pressured her into signing before I could get to her place. Feeling ripped off and gutted. Caused me and my family a lot of stress.

My sales rep name is Mike y from Jim Gauthier He sold me a Chevy Equinox for 31,000 but really it was actually 41k maybe more. I am not approved to upgrade or trade because of the price on my SUV and my income. When I first got my SUV my brakes made noise and I was told the brakes were fine when I addressed that issue. My warranty ended when I hit certain km and once that happened then they told me my brakes needed to be changed because "they're making noise" as well as my bearings.. I had them changed to only need them changed again. Dis-satisfied going on 2 years

So the day starts with a false commitment and promise coming to light. Went for my car service and I had got it booked before hand for 8 in morning for Saturday Sept 29. Reached there and saw 6 cars parked before me and then when doors opened we get it and they started taking readings. Told him I had the appointment and the service guy says it's first come first serve basis. He said he wish I was told about this before, when I booked the appointment. So asked him how much time it will take and he says about 1.5 to 2 hours. So either I miss my commitments because of them or don't get my service done. So here I am standing in their shed with no idea of how they will complete the service on time. Eventually , had to leave without getting the service done. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else for any business. JIM GAUTHIER , THE BIG GUY they say??? You just lost a customer. My next car and service won't be from here. #FalseCommitments #PoorService

The team was able to quickly diagnose and repair the issue (new coil) in just over an hour, which was a lifesaver for me. I can’t speak for the work they do. My mom had work done, here, and was satisfied which is why I decided to give this place a try despite being 30 minutes drive from home. Only gave three stars as I had issue making it past the appointment process, online. Customer service was good in contacting me. I received a call notifying me that they needed more information from me as it was assumed I had purchased a vehicle from there. I called back and sorted out the issue that I am a new customer. The woman I talked to asked me to make an appointment. I informed her I had an appointment booked for a specific time and day already and I had texts and emails confirming my appointment. The lady said that slot was no longer avaliable. This frustrated me as I probably would have wound up driving all the way to the dealership with someone else in my spot had I not called the dealership back to sort out the issue. The voicemail they had left me did not specify my appointment was not final as a result of not having completed information. Confused, I just made a new date and time and wound up cancelling and going somewhere else.

These people are Canada Drives, they will convince you that no credit situation is too hard for them so against your better judgment you give in. They hit your credit multiple times, once they destroy that they tell you that you have an approval and that it’s a sure thing so you jump through a bunch of hoops and are strung along, trying once not twice but three times in a course of a year and a half “we’re just crunching numbers, don’t worry we will get you into a vehicle” only to be told there’s nothing that the bank can do. This is after being ghosted and finally ask them what’s going on. Most dishonest people I have ever dealt with, many of their vehicles they have to offer for low credit people are junky high kilometre repo auction vehicles they have bought back. Stay away from these swindlers, if you think that your credit situation does not qualify trust your better judgment and ignore their harassing calls!!! They should absolutely be ashamed of themselves but aren’t because you are nothing but a sales target to them and they will offer no apology whatsoever for your wasted time and lies they have told you!!! Worst experience ever... Onto the next unsuspecting victim...

Checked the safety, the tire was approved at 5/32 tread, Manitoba safety standard is 3/32 but recommends replacement at 6/32, I put less than 3000 kms since buying the vehicle, it cost me 2 new tires

Was told my oil change would take 1 hour to complete, went to check after an hour and a half and I was told they had had to find and aqcuire an oil filter. I was also asked to give a heads up when I come down so they know to order a filter for my vehicle, as if the appointment I made 2 days earlier wasn't heads up enough. Had some work done at the service centre there, they’ve had my vehicle for 4 weeks now. I bought a Dodge there not knowing they don’t really know/or have the equipment to fix them. They had to send it to a Dodge shop to find out what was wrong with it. Why sell them if it can’t be serviced there. But I know now. Anyway, one thing I’m glad I did was get the warranty. And to top it all off. The repairs that were made there put my alignment off. So now they want me to pay for a wheel alignment too. Very frustrating experience. Alright update: was excited today cause I thought I was finally get my vehicle back today but no. There's a leak they need to fix now. Asked how much that was gonna cost me. They caused it so it won't cost me anything. They caused the wheel alignment issue but want to charge me for that. Doesn't make any sense.

Vickar cheverolet tell me i get two free oil changes on my new purchased silverado. I dont trust them touching my truck after getting screwed around by the credit manager rocco. I goto jim gauthier for my first oil change they look up my vin.# and tell me a qualify for 4 free oil changes. Great service took 23 minutes to change my oil. Really great service here.just wish i bought my truck from here at the beginning.

Service team went beyond and fixed up more than what was stated by the MPI claim. They went ahead and fixed previous old door dings and scuff mark on the same panel. Not very happy with the service here, i paid 37 dollars for the mechanic to lift my truck up and say he didnt wanna try and repair my thread on a part. I took it to mechanic shop down the street and they completely repaired the part tapped and threaded for 67 dollars. 30 dollars more to get the job done at a professional shop.

Very obvious that the safety mechanic never even looked at it.as result,my brake pads,roter and caliper are completely shot.cost me nearly $300.00 to get new parts.Lol i contacted customer service and I was told they would let the head salesman know about the issue ASAP.guess what?never heard a word back.ill let this speak for itself

Terrible service, they had my vehicle for days and they told me they couldn't find the coolant leak and there was nothing wrong however my neighborhood garage found the leak no problem. When I went to pick up the vehicle it took them 40 mins to find my vehicle and the truck was returned to me dirty and still having the same issue they couldn't find!!! DISSAPOINTED WITH EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP If I could enter zero stars I would. Since buying my vehicle in 2015, the service quality has been worse than I could have imagined. I took my car in for regular service returning to the service department squaring up I went home and inspected the car over, oil was not changed brakes were not inspected they just pencil whipped the report which I paid for. They offered me to bring car back and they would do the work for real a second time. I received a couple free oil changes for my trouble, not enough. I purchased the third party warranty which turns out to be a great scam because I am not able to make a claim and the Service Dept does not call back or seem to care much at all. Super Not impressed with Gauthier Chevrolet, and I will tell everyone to shop elsewhere.

Just be aware if taking your vehicle in for an MPI claimed repair. Our nightmare began at their shop when taking in our Nissan Xterra for front end damage covered by MPI. At the time of estimate, we were not informed of any betterment charges. It is the responsibility of the estimator to inform or notify if betterment charges will apply to the repair costs at the time the vehicle is estimated. In our case, we were not notified until after repairs were completed and the vehicle was ready for pick up that we were to pay $800 in betterment charges. After our complaint was made to staff there, we were advised "don't go here next time" which I found to be super sleazy. We will be sure to never return. Secondly, we were advised we could not have a loaner car from them UNTIL our car was being worked on. They did end up giving a loaner vehicle for one day and called the next day to let us know the car was finished and the service car must be returned right away. It was a big front end collision and paint alone does not dry in one day, so we KNOW that we could have had a loaner car sooner. Therefore, we were mislead by them when they said it had not been worked on yet and they avoided having to give a loaner vehicle to us. Perhaps the vehicle sales are of more importance to this company and hopefully customers will have a better experience in that area but if you need a vehicle repair, I would steer clear of this shop and take your vehicle elsewhere.

Worst waiting time. I was called at 12noon by my service advisor that the car is ready for pick up at 1:30 pm. Booked their shuttle at 3:00pm to give some time to make sure there's no rush on the repairs and winter tire replacement. Got in at 3:40 pm and was informed that alignment has not been done. Waited for an hour for the alignment, and waited for an extra 20 minutes just to have the car ready. Please don't call your customers if you are not 100% sure of your schedules.

Brought my 2015 Silverado for safety, it was previously safetied 2 years ago when I bought it. Gauthier technician tells me that i need 2 outer tie rod ends and my left front caliper is seized and needs to be replaced. After all that needs to be done including alignment looking at 1200.00. I wanted a 2nd opinion, so I brought my truck to another certified mechanic. He inspected the truck and said there are zero issues with my outer tie rod ends and my caliper just needed the pin to be cleaned. Let my safety run out the 30 days and had my truck repaired and a brand new safety for under 350.00. The original technician should be ashamed of himself for ripping off the folks that put their trust in him for professional repairs. I understand that these guys work piece work, so be aware that you are getting things repaired that actually need it. Ripping off the working man....

went in to have my vehicle appraised, and ill admit they were willing to match another dealerships offer (excellent business decision). while they were doing there own apprasil i was offered to take a CERTIFIED pre owned vehicle for a test drive, first thing i see is the check engine light on in this already certified vehicle (does not instill confidence in there service department) but mistakes happen......... i get shown a 2nd vehicle and discover a part of the air intake from under the hood was infact on the floor in the back seat of the vehicle....... best guess service department was changing a filter and it was home time. Sales was very pushy, polite, but you can easily tell it is commission sales there and they will try to trap you to avoid you going to other dealerships...... just your common unwanted and distasteful sales tactics.

I am sorry but I had very bad experience in service department. I dropped my vehicle for service and we asked to check AC. Which was in working condition, the only issue was that one time it tripped and reduce cooling otherwise it was perfect. We thought why not to ask them to check if it has any problem inside. Guess what they check and made the diagnosis that there is a air leakage. We said leave it for now because we were out of budget this month. I don't know what they did, my car’s AC stopped working, It's not turnning on at all. It's like they haven't get consent of the patient and perform surgery and now the patient is collapsed. I went to talk to them and they are so rude, they keep on saying that we checked and the air leaked however they should have told this before that if they will check the AC will stop working. We paid them diagnostic fees plus my working AC broke down.

A week later i get a phone call from a sales representative from another Dealership in Winnipeg and stated that he had the exact same car for less $$ . So i made a few phone calls to Gauthier's to see how this could be possible, but no response at all. Well what should i do, i'am just a small guy and felt totally powerless against a big dealership. So i decided to try 1 last ditch effort and call Randy Gauthier, at least he would listen to me for a brief moment and said that he would get back to me, But never did... Basically, we got your money thank you. So with that being said, i will never step foot in that door again. For our service calls, well we are going to another Dealership for our new car. Thank you Jim Gauthier for our wonderful experience ( Not ) Well, with a rebuttal to the dealership's response to my review. We did not take any financing. We paid cash for the vehicle period..... Not the best dealership and service repair shop. Bought 2012 chevrolet cruze after the warranty ends they refuse to repair the vehicle. I paid $600 for repair and they return the vehicle with the same issue. And then ask for more money to repair the issue. Not the best shop repair facility. This is probably the worst shop in winnipeg. Stay away from this crooked services. Their mehanics are a bunch of kids. A dog can fix it better.

Brought my 2015 colorado in for recall and warranty work. Has been my worst experiance to date with a dealership!! Started with not having a basic part as AC compressor in stock. Then when I came to pick up the truck, I found scratch damage to drivers door, drivers fender, passenger fender, hood edge and bumper face. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted with the way the mechanic treated my vehicle!This should never have happened! I have maintained all of my vehicles in the past 30 years , and have yet to do the amount of damaged caused in one service appointment!!! As far as I am concerned the mechanic should never work on any more vehicles Ever!! The service manager should also never have let the truck out the door the way it looked, especially when I brought it washed and cleaned before the service. I do commend the service writer who did the best he could with the situation. I will NEVER recommend to family or friends to go to Gauthier Chev for service on their vehicles. Bought a vehicle from them, said it was a fleet vehicle from their Dodge store, carfax showed 1 accident, minor damage to the rear, no big deal. fast forward a couple years and my vehicle is involved in an accident. while repairing it they notice frame damage and other signs including aftermarket non OEM parts that lead the independent shop to believe it was a prior write off. Now I'm not saying that anything wrong happened, or occured, but this situation does raise more than a few eyebrows. other than that^ vehicles been great

I bought a brand new 2018 Chevy equinox from Jim Gauthier on McPhillips. Customer service was good until they got my money. Ever since its been nothing but being lead on for months, only to be told no. Back ground, I contacted the dealership a few months after purchasing my vehicle asking if they could help sponsor my service dog. I got told for months that they would get back to me right away. multiple emails and phone calls and I just kept getting the same thing, that they would get back to me. finally months later I did hear back, they asked for information on the service dog company I am training with, why I have my dog and for a donation letter. This gave me hope, so I gave them all the info, wrote a donation letter etc. A few days later the head of the service dog company Said he was contacted by the dealership asking to verify my donation request etc. Of courses this gave me even more hope that they may actually help. fast forward 6 months after the request, they finally gave me an answer. NO can't help,we donate to big organizations and not individuals who need help. Lets get this straight, being told no isn't what has me mad and frustrated. its the fact that they contacted the service dog company WITHOUT MY PREMISSION. Ran me around for 6 months and getting me to give them all this info only to be told no. a simple no right away would have been appriciated. For a company as large as Jim Gauthier it is pretty sad that they couldn't offer anything to help a "valued customer" with such a lifesaving, unique request. I would have been happy with anything, a cash donation to help pay for my service dog or even items or services I could auction off to raise money. In the end I got nothing. They got my 45,000+ dollars. Go with a dealership that may actually try to help customers on a personal level, not just ones who will ask for info and then say they donate to other causes not individuals.

Don't really know what to rate, got our Chevy Malibu in the spring but first she gave us a buick Verano we went there for a truck buy the way we didn't care for the buick she got us the Malibu well that was better than the buick still not a truck. We're still looking for some kind of 4x4 whether it be a truck or jeep . The sales person was lovely she did her job and sold something but nothing near what we want nor need still trying to trade either up or down I don't care we just need something for winter road driving the Malibu is useless to us. Bought my 2012 Chevy Cruze from Gauthiers over 6 years ago and have no real complaints. There have been a few recalls but I think its normal for a new car to have and Gauthier has always got my car fixed promptly every time but once. I bought a 2012 Equinox from another dealership just over a year ago and brought it to Gauthier to fix when I notice weird noises and it started shifting gears funny. Having been to Gauthiers in the past I always deal with Matt Klassen who has taken good care of me and is always professional. My Equinox needed some major repairs and Matt got them all fixed within the time frame he gave me. It cost me a lot of money but some of the repairs were still covered under warranty. They fixed it and so far its running like it never has since I bought it and thats all that counts. Thanks for fixing my car and I'll continue bringing my cars to Gauthiers.

I bought my car less than a year ago. I’m interested to upgrade my exhaust and brakes. So, months ago I emailed the person that sold me the car, I asked him if there’s a good deal on brakes but he never replied. Before I bought the car, he would reply to my question through email in 30 mins but now that he already sold me the car, he does not care anymore. Also, when I came back to get my wheel locks installed, he told me that I have to pay $75 for it. But thanks to the parts guy, he talked to the manager and got me the wheel locks for free. The person that sold me the car should be the one helping me get deals not the parts guy. This sales person is only good when selling you the car but after he sold you the car you are on your own, he does not care anymore.

Ive spoken to Jim himself which was as hard to get to be able to speak to as the pope, but I did. I share my exp with friends and once they hear the horror story they agree and are worried to buy a car from any of his dealerships. We went to this dealership because of an ad for a Silverado truck. I went online and checked their inventory on-line but could not find the truck advertised through the stock number they published in the paper. I got hooked up with a salesman by the name of Manny. I made an appointment to meet with him to look at the truck. I left him my phone number and e-mail address in case he needs to contact me. He assured me the truck was in inventory. When my wife and I got to the dealership we sat down in "Manny's" office and told him we'd like to test drive the vehicle. He goes through the process of trying to find the vehicle on his list but is unable to. He goes to talk to his sales manager and comes back and tells me they sold the truck 3 days prior. I asked him why he told me he had the truck available and why he couldn't call me and tell me it was sold. Also if it was sold they should have advised the Free Press and the Free Press could have made changes to the ad. I walked out of the dealership. One week later on Saturday I look at the Free Press and there is the same truck, the same stock number and the same price advertised again. Then I find another ad this time in the Winnipeg Sun again same ad, same truck and same price. After posting this review I received an e-mail explaining what happened and why the dealer was advertising the truck more than once. Apparently, the original deal did not go through due to the customer not being to get financing. This makes total sense and most certainly appreciate having the Vice President and General Manager advising me of the details. Obviously this dealership cares about it's image and has taken the best steps to ensure this. I find this approach from the dealership caring and respectful.

Found a truck online texted a sales rep. Agreed on a price and rate. Went in the next morning and they said they changed the posting and it will be 15% more. I told them that is criminal and a bait and switch. After an hour of them trying to negotiate to a different higher price and me standing firm because we had an agreement the manager comes in. He says this is the price nothing we can do. I tell him that's criminal and he laughed. Dont go here unless you want to have deals voided prices changed and managers that dont care about customers.
