Kelowna International Airport has been expanding rapidly in the past decades with the required infrastructures for international travelers.

Easy to get around. Only issue is you can hear guys throwing you luggage onto the carousel hard. A wheel was damaged on my luggage.

Modern, easy to navigate check-in and departure. Once through security there are currently very limited options for food or refreshments. Only place open for a sandwich was Subway but only one staff working. Line up of 10+ people. The gift shop will sell bagged candies or trail mix and bottled water but be prepared to pay a hefty price. Coffee shop closes at noon and doesn't offer food. White Spot closes at 18:00. YLW still claims international airport designation but currently doesn't offer services or amenities that would be expected of an international airport. Update: Good luck getting free water or a cheaper alternative than the gift shop right now. With the number of people traveling during the holidays it would be nice if YLW stepped up during the month of December.

I travel a lot for work, and so far, this was the least friendly airport I've ever been to... Really hope that they'll be less stressed soon, and able to interact with their travellers without the coldness.

Its a regular small size airport. I got off the plane and got picked up. You can rent a car and get some tim hortons coffee and food. People are friendly.

This airport is small, busy, and allows people unmasked in crowded areas during peak outbreaks. I heard a man tell security, "the constitution says I don't need a mask". Security left him alone.

Traveling from Kelowna to Edmonton today. Traveling with a hunting rifle, with a DULL from factory, non sharpened bayonet. Whichever white kneck beard security guy they had working in oversized baggage at the time, wouldn't allow it. He said we either "get out of the airport or remove it" Extremely rude even though we followed every rule to a tee. Later, after removing and shipping said bayonet, we were told he was wrong, and it was fine. He needs to be fired. Can't go making up rules just on a power trip. Absolutely ridiculous.

Security was quick and friendly. WhiteSpot restaurant was quick and tasty, buy unlike everywhere else we visited in BC they do not ask anyone we saw coming into the restaurant for vaccination proof.

Way too small for the size of Kelowna. Constant disorganization, delays and mayhem. Can’t say I’ve ever had a good experience here. I would love to see them expand the airport soon, it is much needed.

Understaffing issues caused the check in line to take two hours and several people almost missed flights. Lack of food in general at the airport, just a white spot, a muffins only Tim's and subway, and no food is open past 8pm aside from one poor subway worker. Bring your own food and be prepared for unexpected delays.

One of the best airports in Canada. Small but modern and very easy to navigate. Taking a plane from here is very comparable to taking a bus. Just walk, wait and board.

Great little airport. Stay are usually quite friendly, especially WestJet staff. There are plenty of water fountains, a business centre and a subway restaurant. Here's some photos of what's available to buy once you get through security. Maybe this will help someone out.

Very disappointed that there was so little seating for those that were arriving in Kelowna and waiting to be picked up also very disappointed that all of the stores were closed so I was unable to purchase a bottle of water. My plane landed at 4:45pm.

The airport staff were friendly and efficient. My flight was delayed by over 9 hours with very little explanation by Air Canada, why. There are very few dining options and the tininess of the airport made for a very boring wait. We received very few updates from AC staff.

Always a pleasure to travel through YLW, especially when coming back home! Security is always quick, White Spot is a convenient and cheerful place for a pint of Nats Lager and a few minutes to catch a game. One of the best “smaller” airports I’ve travelled through.

This airport desperately needs to expand. With airlines demanding passengers to turn up at least 2 hours before their flights, there is no where near enough space for passengers to sit after going through security. During Christmas queues for security were backing up to the arrivals area and there was zero social distancing happening once passed security - Can't blame the passengers for not trying, there just wasn't enough space! No matter the airline, delays from this airport are now the norm.

A small airport but well run. It would be nice if there was better food options but they have Tim Hortons or Triple O's available. Parking is usually not a problem and the pricing is reasonable for it.

Terrible airport, and worst experience i've ever had. Especially Avoid air canada which they have the WORST staff: Rude, and unhelpful. They never bothered helping me after cancelling my flight resulting to miss my connecting flights. My flight got cancelled twice, and they said for the reason of bad weather while at the same time even single engine planes were taking off (see the pictures below). Avoid this airport. Small airport & had a separate entrance taking you right to security if you were already checked in and had your boarding pass. Took approximately 10-15 minutes to get through security. More secure here than Pearson as they wanted me to take my liquids out. Found my gate easily & had enough places to get something to eat and drink. The airport is so small that on arrival, it felt like we landed in the parking lot.

Was asked 3 times for my covid vacation paperwork. I understand the first one. The airline asked for it when we checked our bags. The second and third time i don't understand. The second time was by security in the lineup to get x rayed and the third time was when we exited the security line. Wasn't happy by this time. Flights were late. Wife got hit in the head with some woman's carryon bag when the woman yanked it out of the overhead bin across the aisle and 1 row behind. Missed our connection in Vancouver. Just a great end to a decent vacation.

The airport is small, just what is needed for Kelowna. It is clean, and there is no much room to get lost because of its size. However, the kind lady that is at the information kiosk... OMG... what a marvelous lady. I don't know whether is a voluntary job or a paid job for elderly people... but, she truly is a great example of how to offer information to newcomers like me. People like her should consider be trainers for bigger airport's staff. CONGRATULATIONS!!

a week agoNEW Worst and slowest baggage delivery in Canada on Friday, Dec. 17. I recommend you avoid YLW. The flight from Vancouver was 36 minutes from takeoff to touchdown, but it took 50 minutes to get my suitcase when I landed AND the carousel kept changing. I'll drive to Penticton from now on. This a reflection of management without a customer courtesy or consideration orientation. Granted three flights arrived within 20 minutes of each other but management knew that the day before and weren't prepared. And the manager wonders why they don't get more flights - it's because they can't handle any more.

Extremely slow baggage delivery. I recommend you bring carry-on luggage only if traveling to YLW. The flight from Vancouver was 41 minutes, yet it took 54 minutes to get my suitcase when I landed.

The airport is great for the most part. My main complaint is the lack of short term parking. If the airport is in any way busy not only is it difficult to find a place to park but if the people you are dropping off have to wait in line for any extended period of time the 1/2 hr maximum isn't long enough.

One of the smaller international airports. Not a lot of options for shopping and only a few gates. Good wifi. I advise that there's no need to arrive super early for your flight. You would just be sitting around.

It would be hard to imagine a worse long-term parking setup. Be prepared to carry your suitcases close to a kilometer in the freezing clod to the airport from the parking lot. You cannot even roll them due to the amount of snow and lack of plowing of the lot. They state they cannot operate a shuttle due to COVID but that seems ridiculous since city buses are able to run and flights are able to operate with masks and other reasonable precautions. In my opinion not operating the shuttle seems to be nothing but a scheme to extort an extra $20 for Valet service. Bring a shovel also because you will have to dig your car out of three foot deep snow to get out of the lot. And god forbid you lose the tiny ticket that you receive when entering the lot because you won't be able to get out of the lot without it. What an absolute embarrassment of a parking system.

The lineup for security was amazingly long, took over an hour, and all flights were delayed as a result. Next time I'll just drive. They had several full flights all scheduled to depart within 10 minutes, and 4 security lines. They didn't even do an adequate job of staffing the end of the line - there was nobody to direct traffic or answer questions.

So peaceful here during covid. Every single employee in the airport was super cheerful this morning. I saw them wiping everything down. I think employees are happy it's not as crowded as it usually is during the 7am rushes. There was no lineup at security and they had two lines open. We cleared security in ten seconds. I didn't even get selected for additional screening. So pleased with today's experience!
