I recently had a problem with the weather stripping around the driver's door of my 2019 Buick Regal GS. While it was nothing major when I showed the problem to my service person he told me he agreed that it should not be as it was. After speaking to the service manager I was informed that a new liner would be ordered to replace the defective one. I was called shortly after to come in and have the replacement installed while I waited. I think Bannister GM Vernon went above and beyond to see that I was happy.

We have been beyond disappointed with the service at Bannister in Vernon. We are from the Edmonton area and our daughter had our 2015 GMC Terrain after she moved to Vernon in September 2018. Our vehicle has just over 100 000 km on it and it stopped working. So our daughter took it into Bannister thinking she would get top-notch service. We should have brought it to Edmonton as Bannister has brushed her off as a young girl who knows nothing about vehicles and has gotten away with a serious lack of service. They provided no vehicle support and had the car for over 9 days with NO response on the work required. The GM dealership has claimed poor maintenance when she has records of her oil changes in order to avoid having to do the appropriate warranty work. My husband finally drove to Vernon to tow the car back to Edmonton as the service has been so poor. The dealership said NOTHING to him but after they left, they CLOSED the work order (without saying anything to my daughter or my husband). Be VERY wary of this dealership as they are sketchy with their service. I am disappointed in GM as we have been customers for years and have had decent service in Alberta. We have brought the vehicle back to Alberta and are willing to do the warranty work. But Bannister has closed the claim so now we have to deal with head office. We will be pursuing our claim with GMC.

I am editing my previous post. Although the initial purchase was an absolute gongshow for reasons outside of the hands of the folks who were there, I am very pleased with the dedication of salesmen Wayne and manager Brad. Both have followed up, trouble shot problems and Brad has answered calls more then once on his days off. They could have blown me off as I am in Yukon, but they did not. They continued to be in touch and work with me to sort out the challenges and I am impressed by their commitment to their customers. It’s not like I can drive into the office, so they could have ignored me the minute I left. They have provide that they are dedicated to customer satisfaction and although their were some initial disappointments overall I am very satisfied will all their efforts to ensure I am happy with my vehicle.

Recently had service there on my first Chevy purchase ever. End to end, from them accommodating my request to update the entertainment center through to honoring the removal of the front air damn on my truck (which was agree to when I bought it but was much more intensive then they thought), things were literally perfect. I was blown away by their sales manager (Chris) offering to drive my truck home for me himself due to my schedule. I mean, who does THAT these days? I wish I didn't wait so long to discover this dealership and that level of service. It's a real jewel in an industry where pain and frustration is the norm far too often.

Last week my car was scheduled for service to repair the rear seat video unit and the driver door broken window. The service department was made aware that I was travelling a long way from my home to get this work done. After waiting hours for the repairs to be completed, I was told that the window replacement was sent as the wrong unit. I was also told that the stereo replacement would not take long to complete. So I waited longer. Then after a while, I was told that they hadn't even started the repair. I was then told that I would have to return the following week to have the window fixed. This was after I explained that I drove to Vernon from The Gulf Islands specifically to have these repairs done, and that I was leaving the following day. Finally after another hour of waiting the car was ready to be driven. Again I was told to return next week, and again I explained that I would not only not be returning next week, but that I would never be returning to Bannisters for any service work in the future. This was a very disappointing and frustrating experience that simply should not have happened. I would not recommend this service department to anyone.

I purchased A GMC Canyon. It has 14,000 kilometres on it. So far I have had a transmission problem, and the battery has died twice. My wife is medically fragile and a reliable vehicle is essential. I now keep a battery and booster cables in the back seat in case a boost is needed. For a vehicle that has cost me close to $50,000.00 this is not performance. The dealership appears to be trying, but this truck is proving to be quite a lemon.

My fiancee and I are thoroughly impressed and I cannot say enough good things about these guys. We went to the Chevy dealership in Kelowna first and let me tell you it was absolutely horrid how poor their customer service was. My fiancee and I decided to check out a few other dealerships before landing on Bannister and it was honestly worth the drive from Kelowna to buy the vehicle here in Vernon. They made the process seamless and even got the insurance company to come to the office in order to complete the transfer of insurance. Terry Baptist was the salesman who helped us and I highly recommend him. He was a delight to work with and he also knew his stuff about the vehicles at their dealership - I know that people might think all car salesmen know a lot about the vehicles they sell but I will be the first to say that is definitely not true. I would do research on the vehicles and their trims/packages before going to the dealerships and it was surprising how many times the salesmen would "white lie" or flat out "lie" when they didn't know the answer to questions. Never once did this happen at Bannister. Everybody that we crossed paths with at this dealership were not only competent, but also efficient and effective at exceeding expectations for each of their roles. 100% recommended. We won't be buying a vehicle anywhere else.

I walked in to Bannister GM mid afternoon coming from Kamloops. I had fully researched the vehicles and done my homework over the past couple of weeks, therefore primed and ready to buy. I had tested several brands in the mid-sized truck market. Terry Baptist proceeded to show me my already focused options and I made a quick decision. The process went smooth considering I was otherwise engrossed in another much larger transaction and was a bit distracted, hence having to complete the process over a couple of days. Terry was present and patient with all the details. They even found me a tonneau cover at a screaming deal. I can say that my experience in a Kamloops dealership was the polar opposite to the Vernon experience. Hence, I bought the 3 year maintenance programme with Bannister as well because they just had higher standards when it comes to customer service.

In all my years dealing with service departments at dealerships and independent shops etc, I’m more than willing to say that this was the best experience I’ve EVER had! The breakdown sucked of course as they always do but I was very lucky that earlier calls to Kal Tire and Ford were met with lack of time or manpower to look at my vehicle. Bannister GM not only got me in immediately, but made dealing with warranty on Napa parts and a rental vehicle very smooth and painless! JessicaV gets a HUGE thank you for going above and beyond! It does of course take a team but JessicaV is amazing at what she does. She seems to understand how these situations can affect lives and does everything she can to help you get back on the road with a smile on her face and a great personality for working with the public! .Just had my new GM for it's second service. Once again when I phoned for an appointment again the lady I spoke to was very friendly and upbeat and took the time to look up the details on our truck to ensure nothing else was outstanding. I took the truck in at the appointed time and again John in service was ready for me. He gave me an estimate when the vehicle would be ready, and again spot on his timeframe when he called it was ready. When I went to pick up the truck John told me to keep bringing it back every 8000k as I ad a program where I get free oil changes every 8000k up to 60,000 k for 3 years. I was very appreciative that John took the time to look up my file and clarify this for me. There are a couple things I find at Bannisters that I haven’t found at other dealerships including other Chevrolet/GM dealerships. First everyone I have come into with albeit sales, parts or service are upbeat, friendly and knowledgeable on the issues. Secondly when you take your vehicle in for service and it is taken in on the appointed time and completed on time is great. I have experienced taking a vehicle in to a dealerships and waited and waited. At one location (GM) I took my truck in for a simple oil change and waited 4 hrs before it was ready. Needles to say I would never crossed their door again. Cannot say anything but good things about Bannisters GM in Vernon. Keep it up crew

The staff was very friendly Work was performed, it was definitely costlier than I expected - but in talking with the service advisor he did contact the service manager and managed to give me a little discount through a dealership I had worked for, this was very much appreciated. Suring the work - my passenger side windshield wiper was broken, (accidents happen) they said a replacement, should arrive on Monday, which it didn't - but I had a specialist appt at Kelowna General and needed my car to get to this appt, so I asked for a loaner, they checked and none were available. I was told they get a good deal through Budget & I could rent a car. To which I said I will not spend anymore monies and I was not the one who broke the wiper arm. But there was nothing more they could do for me. My thoughts I just spent $619.00 to have wiper motor & linkage replaced and I still cannot use the car, it was an appt I could not cancel, thankfully with co-workers - I was able to get a ride to my appt. I had made this appointment a week before my arrival. Upon arriving at my scheduled time, I was told that it did not matter that I had an appointment. I would be looked after the Tech was finished his other job from Friday and then was also informed by the Service Advisor they only have one tech on Saturdays. I find this unacceptable as I am from out of town and expect for my appointment time to be honored. My time is valuable as is everyones and would hope that an appointment means just that. This is not the first time this has happened! I have really enjoyed dealing with the Dealership on other occasions but this just does not sit well. Upon leaving the Dealership. I also found hand prints of Oil on my hood and chrome. I am saddened that due care and attention was not taken in the cleanliness of the return and that vehicles are no longer washed. I was just at Bannisters' last week for an oil change. I have no real complaints but each time I go there it takes 15-20 to get your car registered. The service attendants spend a lot of time on the phone. I was waiting for my car at the dealership & after an hour or so I checked the lot & there was my car just sitting there. I asked about it and was told that my service rep had to deal with me. A few minutes later I was told that my car was ready so I signed the papers & was gone. I spent a total of 1 1/2 hrs for an oil change. Hummmm. I believe this could be improved on. I have had other longer waits in the past. I will be back. Returned on Sept 30th/19 & bought new rims & left my winter tire to be mounted. Advised them that there was no rush. I checked on Oct 4th/19 on the status of my tires. They hadn't been done yet but would be done later that date. I got a call about 4:00 pm to pickup the wheels. All is good. Very pleased with the service.

Following review is for the parts department. The parts guy at Banister saved me a TON of trouble today. I was looking for a GM sensor terminal for my custom standalone ECU wiring job. He went to the trouble of searching 50+ drawers of individual terminal connections to find one that suited my application. Had a lot of work on my 2013 Chevy cruise just before Christmas. Had an antifreeze flush, oil change, front wheel alignment, a leaking water pump seal and a new lifter cover on the engine. Had the car overnight and had all done by noon. A couple of weeks later I noticed that I was losing oil and had a burning smell from the engine compartment. Called the service manager, had the car in by 10 am and back out before noon. They said that the seal for the new lifter cover had turned on a corner and started leaking out. Seal replaced and oil topped up free of charge.

Went here for an oil change because their website advertises having "quick service". When I arrived the woman at the service desk was training someone and apparently found it too difficult to do that and address me to let me know she would be right with me. This was my first time at this GM, so I was wondering if I was in the right area. When she finally did acknowledge me, and I let her know what I needed she said it would be done in about 45 minutes ... not a big deal, as I had work I could do from my phone with their Wi-Fi. 2.5 hours later ... and a rather rude and unapologetic interaction with the lady at the desk ... I will not be going back. I purchased my Chevy in Salmon Arm, and for that wait time I will just drive out to their TRUE quick bay and utilize their loyalty card for their services. The sales person I spoke with while I was wandering the lot was nice enough. But I highly doubt I will go here to purchase my next vehicle in the Spring.

Overall it was an OK experience. The truck, which we had made an appointment to test drive, was not clean on the exterior and the windows were wet and hard to see through. The truck was nosed into a parking spot, which meant I had to back an unfamiliar truck with obscured windows. Fortunately there was no immediate pressure to buy, as we had other appointments that day. We were pleased again there was not a lot of pressure when we came close deal and we were not prepared to make that decision at the end of a long day. Normally we don't have a problem with the service we get from Bannister GM but several months ago we had an oil change done and there was a problem with the work that resulted in an oil leak onto our newly cemented driveway. We complained right away. We were told someone would be out to clean up the driveway. The leak was fixed. One person came out but could not clean the driveway, he needed stronger stuff. They have told us they we coming several times and not shown up. Granted the weather was really bad one time. It is now over 3 months. The driveway was not done. It is winter. We have had another old change done. All we get is an I'm sorry. To us this is not good enough.

Everyone is attentive and make every attempt to satisfy their customers whether they are there to look, buy or service their vehicle. It is unfortunate that not all dealers can follow this lead as my wife has currently experienced. I will continue coming back to Bannisters for many more years to come.

High pressure sales tactics. Hidden fees.Rude staff. I am sure the service department is good but stay away from sales. They are the reason greasy carsalesman stereotypes exist. Go across the street to Watkin Ford. Much better!
