This is my 2nd CX9 because it's an SUV that is actually fun to drive. Added to that, the service at August always goes as planned, and everyone there is a pleasure to deal with.
Turns out sometimes the guy making you wait is doing nothing but warming his seat.
We bought a new car here in 2013 and have been taking it there for services since. Very nice staff, and even through the transition to August Mazda (from Kelowna Motors) the good service has continued.

Overall experience 4.33 Stars (rounded down) - Overall I would recommend this place. Buying Experience 5/5 - Jerry and Kelli were incredibly helpful with answering questions and that made me do a 400km roadtrip to buy a car from this dealership. Service Experience 3/5 - This is tied to the services performed when buying a used car. The headlights were not working which we discovered while driving down Coquihalla. It was later found that the headlights were missing a fuse. Check Engine Light came on 10 minutes after driving the car off the lot. We brought it back and was told they knew about it, changed a part, it came on again and then deleted itself. Not sure if they checked more thoroughly after that. After Sales Experience 5/5 - I informed Jerry of the problem, the GM got involved and they supported me to get everything back up to snuff.

August Mazda is the best car dealership, in my experience that I have ever seen! They know how to treat a customer in a way that is over and above what one might reasonably expect that has me come away from them delighted. They are respectful, explain things well, and perhaps most importantly do not over charge, or aren’t dishonest. In fact, I have on more than one occasion brought my car into the service department to have them look at something that I thought might be a mechanical concern. It turned out both times to not be a problem, but the service department didn’t charge me a dime even for their time, and my car wasn’t even under warranty! On top of that they washed it, which they do if they have time, and they almost always do. If your thinking of buying a car ask for Steve Parfett, he will defiantly look after you with no pressure! We went to August Mazda in Kelowna to check out a previously owned 2019 CX5 Turbo on Dec 27, 2021 but ended up buying a new 2021-5 CX5.5 - GT model after test driving both to them. Drexler, our sales rep, did a fantastic job providing all the pros and cons of each option plus doing an in-depth financial estimate for us. Once we selected the new vehicle, the staff bent over backwards to have it ready for us four days later with winter tires installed plus several more options that we selected. From start to finish, it was a pleasure dealing with such professional people at August Mazda

I'm generally content with these guys. They've handled my warranty items without issues. They do the services I ask for. They give me a ride to and from the office. The one time I forgot to tell them not to wash my car, I did not notice any swirls on the paint. Although I have since put a permanent no wash status on my car, they do seem to have a fairly competent detailer who will wash your car with care.
I Love my new Mazda CX5, so happy to have it, it drives like a dream my first was a Mazda 3 sedan and now upgraded and both Vehicles I had help from Sheri Dickson and she is absolutely the best, I am so glad I went back to purchase another Mazda fro. Staff have always been very efficient and attentive when servicing my original Mazda here for the last ten years and also during my recent new vehicle purchase from this dealership. Any post-servicing issues I’ve had in the past have been handled very tactfully and responsibly by staff, and I’ve been provided clear repair explanations without the condescending way many women like me are used to (I do have a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics and operation so despise when treated like I know nothing about cars by so many other garages). Repair suggestions have been clear and honest; I’ve never been taken advantage of like other garages have attempted with me. There are some really valuable employees at this Mazda (Jason, hands down, is phenomenal in his approach and professionalism). I will likely be a Mazda owner for life based on the quality vehicles along with the quality care from AugustMazda. Highly recommend.

I have been shopping around for an MX-5 for a couple months. Living out in the lower mainland, there are plenty of Mazda dealerships but none come close to the customer service I had received in Kelowna. Purchased my car from Sheri back in August. Couldn't have had a better experience with the friendly sales staff, and sales manager, Matt. *One complaint would be that the girl who works in the service department is extremely rude.
The whole team is fantastic! They are kind, informative and all around good people. I felt like they went above and beyond to assist me in what I was looking for and at the budget I had. I am very, very happy and am pleased to being looked after by August Mazda for the next several years.

We have brought or friends here purchased here recently (2016 Subaru WRX) and this place is hands down the best deal ship to deal with. Never had any issues here! I was in with a friend when she was shopping and the entire experience was a delight. Everybody was really friendly and went through everything in detail, but most of all they were NOT pushy which is something I really don't like in a dealership.
Excellent experience with Kelowna Motors. Greeted by a friendly and engaging sales staff, we received help from a couple salesmen who made us feel like we weren't just another sale. Not pushy, they didn't try to upsell us into something that would have been a stretch for our budget, and gave us a very fair trade-in value for our van. After finding the right vehicle for us, a pre-owned SUV, we were given peace of mind with the vehicle service report, CarProof report, and the dealership took care of a few issues we had prior to delivery. The delivery process was quick, thorough, and ultimately we felt we were dealing with honest people who had our best interests in mind. Shout out to Conrad , parts desk, went in for a second key , he said would cost about $230, I said too much, thanks .... then, he suggested to call a locksmith, gave me a number, phone to use, and success! ... $120. Thanks, that is great service ! 5/5 - if more affordable.
Typical car dealership. I called ahead to get a quote on tires. Price was agreed at $550.00 installed for take offs. A fair deal. I booked my apointment for next day installation and they advised me the price was additional 250. The parts "specialist" told me if I didnt get a hard copy quote then they would not honor what he told me. I have no time for these tactics. Seriously, you waste my time so "&÷_ off. Good luck on your future. Im done with August Mazda.

I'm absolutely blown away at how incredible the service department is at August Mazda. The most honest & transparent mechanics I've come across and I've compared prices at other places only to find they've always been the cheapest as well. Today, I had a few things needing fixed all at once and new tires to boot. When I came in to pick up my car, the service advisor had given me a discount to help me with such a big bill. I almost cried, it was so kind and so needed for me at this time as well.
Jason at the service department was super helpful when it came to explaining my 48,000 km maintainer and asked the questions that actually mattered to me. I would definitely recommend the service department for any type of vehicle.

I recently had the occasion of having my 2016 Mazda 3 die, I couldn't start it and there appeared to be some electrical problems. I called Mazda Roadside Service and they boosted the car. I drove it for a while and discovered that the infotainment system, including the GPS and back-up camera did not work. I called August Mazda and they advised that it would be OK to drive the car in to the shop. When I got to the shop I spoke with Larry and they did a check of the battery and associated system. Everything turned out OK and the car was returned to me. They still could not explain why the car died, but it was OK to drive. Just one of those unexplainable instances. I renewed my Roadside Service which was about to expire.
Jason, the Service Advisor goes above and beyond! I mentioned I was searching for a specific vehicle and he called me to let me know when one became available. He is extremely knowledgeable and my car is well maintained by the team.

This is the first time I am owning a car in my life. The staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. The financing options/add-ons/warranties could be more transparent and explanatory, but the staffs are doing a great job listening to your opinions. There is no hidden fees. I am lucky to have the most beautiful and fun car and the most trustworthy and reliable dealership in the town.
Worst sales team we’ve ever encountered. My wife practically had to beg to try to purchase a car here. She really wanted the Cx9. The salesperson didn’t even seem to know much about what he was selling. We had to ask to apply for financing, then they made us jump through hoops to try to get financed. We never received any follow up, or call back. The sales guy Drexler said he’d call us back and never did. Then we had to drive over there to talk to him. The finance guy walked past us without even a hello, as if we didn’t sit with him the day before for half an hour. They wanted T4’s and a years worth of bank statements because my wife is self employed. Overall a very weird experience. We were trying to decide between the Mazda CX-9 and the Ford Edge sport. Trent at Ford was so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable that there was no comparison. Ended up getting financed in half an hour with Zero headaches and drove away with a much nicer vehicle for a little bit more money, but a feeling of being taken care of and really appreciated. We actually considered going to the coast to buy a Mazda to get some service. You’d think when you’re looking to spend 50g that someone might actually seem interested in getting your business, but the folks at August Mazda couldn’t seem to have cared less. After test driving 3 very expensive cars st August Mazda, we still have never even received a call back from them, or the finance manager to see how things were going. We felt they were asking too much of us to finance, so we went back to Ford and found out that we were correct. They also gave us false information in regards to leasing, that we had to find out from Ford. We’ll be buying our future vehicles from Trent Daniels at at Kelowna Ford as well.

Experience, generally favourable. The unfavourable portion already discussed with Larry (Service Manager). I was phoned by Service Advisor that we required a Replacement Battery and a Engine Air Filter. When I asked when the battery was last replaced or when the Air Filter was replaced last. He had “No” idea. I said, check your records for our vehicle, as Kelowna Motors has done all the Service Work. I don’t travel with my Vehicles Service Work File with me. I count on Kelowna Motors/August Motors to provide me those facts! Because I found this disturbing, I phoned Larry Stephens. Larry was able to provide me those details, which made the decision to replace the Battery and Air Filter easier to make. This info should have been made available to us from the Service Advisor when asked for initially. If they don’t know how to provide this, they should be shown how. Thank you. David W. Kuhn

This place is a joke! If your going to buy a new car drive right on past this place. When buying our 2014 mazda 3 the sales guy kept saying how much they pride themselves on service however that the farthest thing from the truth. Service employees with attitude, poor service, long waits, no call backs, courtesy cars seem to be always gone, and the list gose on. They pretty much forget about you and somehow try to blame you when your car breaks down under warranty. I can't wait to get rid of this car and dealership!!

Couldn't have been happier with my experience! As a new car owner I was nervous about stepping onto a dealership lot but the moment I was greeted and interacted with the team, my anxiety subsided. Kendal was an absolute dream to work with! She listened to all of my needs and did not pressure me one bit. She even took the extra time at the end of her shift to let me test drive a vehicle (my now beautiful CX3). From start to finish, it was a breeze. Extra bonus for being helped by all females! Amazing, non-pushy, and respectful experience: the sales rep Doug Copithorne deserves a pay raise! PLEASE PASS MY REVIEW TO DOUG—he's my man. I'll remember his name forever even if I decide not on purchasing the Mazda vehicle I wanted. Came here for a Mazda 3 Sport test drive. This sales rep, Doug, picked me up AT HOME with the car I was planning on purchasing. I test-drove it and we went to the dealership. He was super chill and he'd let me do the calculations at my own time. Doug won't get you too-emotionally attached to the car and gets straight to the numbers and everything—in fact, let me quote his statement, perhaps one of the best things I've heard in my life: "It's so nice that numbers don't have emotions, eh" The manager at the time, Bruce, was also not too pushy and tries to understand customer's boundaries, especially for a university student like me. At the end of the day—initially not really wanting to consider the 3 Sport—I decided to put down a deposit on the vehicle, and everything took me less than 3 hours or so. I've taken a bunch of photos of the gorgeous, amazingly-built Mazda 3 Sport GS FWD during my test drive session (attached)! Agreed that this will be a very subjective opinion: I'd driven different vehicles from car sharing, rentals, and test drives—the 3 Sport easily picked up the first place. HERE'S MORE: Doug knew that I would usually take the transit so HE DECIDED TO DRIVE ME HOME at the end of the day. This alone was beyond A+ service. I had never ever met a sales rep as professional and amazing as Doug! And also: if you're ever into aviation stuffs you'll have a great discussion with Doug! P.S. Doug: you ma man, the real MVP. Had an awesome time spending the day with you!

I've purchased 3 vehicles from this place from Randy in the past 10 years. The dealership prides itself on integrity and customer experience. Any problem I ever had (which were few and far because Mazda cars are great reliability) they fixed it. If it was out of warranty they went out of their way to insure I had the best possible solution available. Randy is my sales guy and Bruce was also a huge help the second time around with parts etc. As soon as me and my father both needed a new car no question we went back to Mazda and dealt with him directly and did 0 shopping around. My father got a 2018 Mazda 6 and ingot a 2019 Mazda 3 within months of eachother. I don't think I would.ever drive a different brand. Or go to another dealership to get my car. Even though I no longer live in Kelowna i still went back to August Mazda to get my car.

I went in to replace have them the left rear signal light, which I had already purchased. I had to wait for at least an hour, and they charged $28. Compare that with North Hill Mazda in Calgary, who not only changed my brake light, but checked my brakes and didn't charge me.

The thing I like the most about the dealership is that I feel I am greeted fairly everytime I walk through the front doors. They have always worked hard to get me into the vehicle at my payment preference. Rick Speckman has also been awesome to deal with. He doesn't make me feel like just another customer. Car is great, Kelowna dealership is aweful. They wouldn't honor their quote or the 105 coupon they emailed me 4 times. They said Quote was wrong, I ended having to pay for one extra service. They paid for one of the other services but wouldn't give me the 10% off so I ended up paying about $130 more for service. Rude and un proffesional staff Jason Jablonshi should change is last name to Jabroni. Will not buy the Mazda CX5 I was planning to or any other Mazda since dealing with Kelowna dealership or Mazda canada head office.

We recently dealt with August Mazda to lease our new SUV. Everyone we dealt with was top class! Our salesperson Jerry was very friendly and knowledgeable, but not pushy at all. Gord helped us out with the lease and was also very nice and made sure we understood all of the details of the agreement. He didn’t try to upsell anything and he genuinely was looking out for us to make sure we got the best deal for our needs. Avery was brought in to help us out with our insurance and she too was great to work with. She made sure we understood the different options and anticipated our needs to make the process really smooth. It was a great experience all around! I had a Mazda 6 for 13 years, and sold it last year to a college student. (To upgrade to a newer Mazda). That special car, which I really liked, saved her life this winter. On a snowy day she slipped on black ice on Hwy 33, slid across the oncoming lane (we thank God for protecting her from a soon coming tour bus to Big White) and hit the cement barrier. Her airbag went off (after 13 years!) and the car was totalled (a safety crash design Mazda does) and she walked away from the accident. (Understandably she has had a sore neck-but not a broken one, which happened to a dear friend of mine years ago who did not have an airbag.) I'm so proud of that car! Thank you, Mazda for such a reliable car. And thank you, Jerry Feist for selling it to us, and all your help.

Jason, the service advisor assigned to me was fantastic! It was my first dealing with a dealership and up until this point I'd only heard negative things about going to a dealership for repair work. Well, I'm happy to say that Jason changed my mind! He was very patient and understanding of my situation, even reduced my bill slightly to ease my pain (purchased a second hand vehicle from Auction World and turns out the necessary repairs were super expensive). I'm giving this review only 4 stars because I was not impressed by the girl who answered my initial phone call. I'm newer to Kelowna and when I typed in Mazda dealership into Google, it showed me Kelowna Motors. I didn't want to ASSUME that meant it was the Mazda dealership because Google isn't always accurate. So when I called to make an appointment, I immediately first inquired if they dealt with Mazda and the gal's response was, "Well yes, this is a Mazda dealership so we only deal with Mazda." The tone in which she said it didn't help either. I replied with a laugh and said okay well I wasn't sure that why I was asking because it's not clear online. To which I received silence on the other end of the phone. This, of course, made me feel embarrassed. Since then I've dealt with 2 other dealerships and both had people with very warm phone personalities answering the phone. Maybe she was just trying to be efficient and get an appointment booked for me asap, but anyone can do that. What's key is doing that at the same time as being warm and friendly.

Larry's really calm to deal with and made the purchase of our new car not stressful at all. We shopped like crazy at dealerships all over the province and even into Alberta but at August Mazda we found a great price, service, and the most knowledgeable salesperson we could find. I came in for a 72,000km service on my Mazda 3 and was given my maintenance breakdown slip upon completion of the work, running through everything that had been done on my vehicle with the service desk. Apparently my oil drain plug washer had been damaged and would no longer seal properly so I was charged for a new plug, but found that incredible given that the drain plug was purchased new 2 months ago for a routine oil change. That wasn’t the most worrisome issue. Everything else checked out fine on the breakdown sheet and I headed back to my vehicle. Prior to maintenance beginning, I had requested a note to be left for the mechanic to check the power steering fluid level and automatic transmission fluid level as I noticed it had fallen below the “minimum” mark line and was no longer visible. The service desk employee did as requested. As I got to my car I opened the hood and found the power steering fluid container had not been filled and was still bone dry, yet checked off as inspected and good to go on the service breakdown sheet. I had to go back in and request the staff to inspect the level before leaving. The mechanic filled the chamber, and apologized before returning to the shop. The mechanic seemed genuinely apologetic. Returning home, I decided to see if any other fluids were low and/or missed and as I feared, they were. I contacted the service manager to express my concerns and felt he was very understanding of my disappointment. I was offered a free oil change service. I do feel obligated however to run through the checks and services needed during the 72k service and find and/or fix any missing work. I feel a customer who’s has just spent $340+ on a service shouldn’t need to inspect the work afterwards to ensure said work was completed, especially for important fluids. Suffice to say I will be hesitant come next scheduled maintenance to use the services at August Mazda, as I feel I need to trust the establishment that charges me for work they’ve said is completed.
We find the entire staff at August Mazda very professional and polite. Our needs have always been met with promptness and efficiency.

Unfortunately the car wasn't a fit for me and I decided to purchase a different car but believe me I wish I could have given my business to this gentleman.

I bought a pre-owned CX-5 here in January. That experience was great. However, at the beginning of March my car's battery died. I went in to Mazda to have it replaced. I told them that I had only bought the car 6 weeks ago from them and asked that they cover the cost of the battery, since they told me specifically the battery was good when I bought the car and that clearly was not the case. They said it wasn't their problem, but went on to tell me that they checked the battery in December, and that it might have worn out on their lot since I didn't buy the car until January. In my opinion, this is still their responsibility. They told me the battery died sitting on their lot before I bought it. However, they told me that this was not their problem, but that they would give me a free oil change 'so they did not lose my business'. Needless to say, you have lost my business. I would not recommend others buy here and do not trust their services.

Larry is the kindest and most attentive sales person I've dealt with while buying ANYTHING! He's so patient and his sense of humour is outstanding. David in service is also amazing, he never makes you feel like "that girl" even when you're bringing in an issue you can't replicate in front of them.

I live in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island and after test-driving a few different cars, I decided that the 2018 Mazda 3 GS was the one for me. The only problem was that I couldn't find a black 6-speed manual at any of the dealerships on the Island. August Mazda in Kelowna had the exact vehicle that I was looking for and I ended up purchasing it from them by using the phone, emails and FedEx. I just wanted to thank Jerry, Rick and Melissa for making the long-distance purchase and delivery of my new car (right to my front door) an easy and enjoyable experience. The service was outstanding!

Untrustworthy service department. I took my car in for a oil change before heading out onto the coquihalla. When they return the car to the customer they give you a heath report. I quickly discovered that they faked the report. I took one of my wipers off to walk to Walmart to get a new one, on the report they said the wipers were in good condition. After noticing this I inspected my car myself to find many other clearly faked boxes. The most concerning was my low spare tire pressure. They put 69 in the box, if I had a flat tire up on the coquihalla I would of have a major problem. If they are willing to flat out lie on reports, what else are they willing to lie about? EDIT* Two months after posting their response, they have made no effort to reach out to me, updated to 1 star.
Great service! Need to offer 0% financing for returning customers automatically. We have traded in our old one and updated a few times now. The best car, especially Mazda 5.

No upsell, no bafflegab, he listened carefully to what I was looking for and what my needs for the vehicle were. The search didn't take too long and he found me just what I wanted. Larry Dodds is unbelievable! He works so hard to make sure you find the right vehicle for you, at the best price and he even set all my radio stations to my faves (how do you do it Larry?!) I've sent a few family members and friends to him knowing he treats everyone like family.

Have always been happy with the service centre at August Mazda. That's why I keep going back. Knowledgeable people who don't try and push extra services on you. So I've always had faith in what they recommend and it's turned out right. I've even had instances in which they discourage me from a service that is not required. It has made me have full trust in them.

I am not usually a big review writer but I wanted to share an experience that was exceptional. As a senior and an owner of a 17 year old Pickup I required a small clip for a wind deflector. My thought was this was going to be a long shot at best. Isaac and Conrad in the parts department made it their mission to find this part, for a one dollar part on a 17 year old truck that required going through a myriad of bins to find this one unique clip. Isaac made it his mission. Speaks volumes to the kind of staff this dealership hires. Thanks Guys

Worst service department in Kelowna. Clueless with respect to their products particularly the finicky RX8, although they claim to know all about them.They have NEVER managed to address any problem the first go around with this vehicle. My latest experience being their inability to perform an accurate compression test. Same car , two tests, two different results. Oh yes then they forget to plug a bunch of stuff in after the test .I go to fetch it and it runs like poop so left it there and that is when discovered things were left unplugged. Now after they redid the second test they say " oh likely that the numbers on the compression test could still come up some more" Does that mean second compression test was also not done correctly ? Who knows. What I do know is I am cured of buying a Mazda as dealing with this service department is an absolute joke. Shame on you Kelowna Mazda.

My Mazda CX-7 broke down on a weekend visit to Kelowna in September 2019, due to overheating, which resulted in my head gasket needing replacement as well as the head needing to be shaved down as it had warped from the overheating. I had it towed to August Mazda and had to leave it there for a week, we live in Chilliwack and had to return for work! We went back the next week and it was repaired as promised and 2 months later it is running just great! Thanks to the mechanic who worked on my car and the staff for fixing my Mazda they did an honest job for a very reasonable cost.
