Worse place to take vehicle for safety inspection. Took our truck in on Feb 21 for oil change and safety brake and front end inspection. Charged us 396$ for service. Was told everything was safe. Multi-point vehicle safety inspection paperwork showed everything was safe. Drove to Vancouver and parked at long term parking on Mars 7th came back on March 13 and head back to Kamloops. The driver side's front wheel bearing came out on the highway at 3 a.m. by Rosedale. The four of us could have got killed because of their incompetency. Cost us 900$ to get it fixed plus another 600$ for taxi, hotel and meal. Will never take a vehicle to Smith GM ever again and will never consider buying a GM product. Think it over before you take your vehicle to Smith. Very incompetent.

Matt was awesome to deal with, worked with us on our needs and didn't try to upsell us. Ended up with a 2.8 ltr diesel Colorado. The mileage has been unbelievable, and it tows our 7000lb trailer with ease. The engine brake works well, even on 11% grades. You should all see Matt.

They are totally dishonest and vindictive. If you buy a new personal vehicle from them they will treat you great until the papers are signed. Once you drive off the lot the problems begin. Their service team is irresponsible with your new investment and body damage occurs in their shop and they deny it. If you complain and they know where you work they will contact your employer with hopes of having you fired. This is happening now with my 19 year old daughter. Her job is at risk and her employer has now talked to her twice about Smith Chevrolet Cadillac Kamloops contacting them regarding this situation. Even her employer is wondering why they contacted them about this. It’s none of their business. I do not recommend this place to anyone wanting to buy a personal vehicle. They will try to distroy you and your reputation if they don’t like you. They are very vindictive.

I bought my 2020 truck from Smith and found the most amazing help to find the one that was meant for me. Unfortunately I was sideswiped by someone who changed lanes without warning and clipped the front end of my beautiful truck. I sent my truck back to Smith Chev Olds to be repaired (body shop & service center) since it was less than 6 months old. It was done exactly on schedule and repaired like new, exactly as I had hoped for. I would recommend Smith Chevrolet for all of your needs 100%. From purchase to repair if needed, they have it covered and the level of professionalism is exemplary.

I have traditionally owned old import cars and just did the odd work myself or brought them to random mechanics. Ever since purchasing a newer Chevy Trax and dealing with Smith Chevrolet I see the difference in having the support of a dealership. most recently I had to have a recall part fixed, as it turned out once my Vehicle was dropped off the wrong part had been ordered so they needed to keep my Trax longer. Craig was kind enough to understand that my lifestyle couldn't allow that much downtime so he arranged a rental for me at no charge to myself to use in the meantime which was very much appreciated by myself. Thank you for maintaining a level of customer service, accountability and professionalism that has exceeded my expectations.

Went to look at a Chevy Bolt and no one was available to help. Lots of folks wandering around and waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes. Ended up just leaving. We will take our business elsewhere, was just at the Nissan the day before inquiring about the Nissan Leaf and they were excellent. Was a close race between the two cars, but the lack of service at the Chevy is what tipped the scales for us.

DO NOT buy a vehicle here! Great at selling vehicles, sales staff very helpful! Service FAILS at supporting their customers on the back half of the sale (although the girls at the service desk are friendly too, looking for support on my purchase not friends). Customer loyalty is built on customer support! Zimmer Wheaton down the road wins, problem found in 30 minutes - because they actually diagnosed it versus the standard "problem not reproducible - customer to monitor" because Smith doesn't want to do the work!

Extremely and repeatedly unacceptable behavior by various staff members. Even though they have your vehicle records, they don't notify you of recalls. They do the recall work, and then the vehicle is worse off and they pass it off lightly and suggest I fix the problem. Then for problem to be fixed, they require me to RENT a car from them to use in the meantime!!!! I should have known better to never go back to them after my car was disabled for 12 hours because they "didn't know the hours of Onstar services", and I had to RENT a car then overnight until my car was working. Do not ever deal with these people.

My name is Shawn Michaud and I have had my vehicle into this dealership for a variety of small issues and oil changes 5 times in the last year. From the moment you drive into the service bay, you feel like you are the only customer in this place and it is usually busy. I recently had an exceptional experience where I had a tire issue that needed to be dealt with immediately and they told me to drop off the vehicle to "fit it in" as they were busy. I had my vehicle back within 2.5 hours. Everyone from the service team (Craig and Stacy) know what you have the vehicle in for as soon as you drive into the service bay. They have you in and out of there quickly and a shuttle or taxi or an employee is always willing to give you a ride back to minimize the inconvenience. The front office team is always organized and professional. Rhiannon has always been engaging, funny and professional every time she has helped me out. Other employees working from different departments always say hello when they pass you by. When the service department is busy I have observed the owner Mike helping out. I have been purchasing GM vehicles for 25 years and I would never drive anything else. Thank you, Smith Chev Cadillac, for making the servicing and repairs of my vehicle easier.

I called and made an appointment which I thought would mean I would get my service done then, but that was not the case. I was then informed that the appointment was to just talk to the service advisor. I asked how long it would take for my oil change to get done and they said 1.5 hours to 2. I waited 2 hours and 15 minutes to text their messaging service to see how much longer it would take and nothing. So I walked back and talked to the receptionist and she then informed me that it was being washed and would be out soon. I then found out that there had been a recall issued but was not notified about the issue until it was checked. I then waited another 10 or so minutes longer. When I went out to my car the wash on it was subpar and would have been better not done. All and all I would not come back again. I'd rather spend the money and drive all the way to Kelowna Chevy to get my service done. At least I feel welcome and wanted there.

I went here for service back on July 27, 2021 I have been a regular customer for almost 12 years. After a long day and being charged 1.4 hours for a diagnostic that was 45 min., I was told I needed almost $2000 in repairs for my AC. That information and an oil change cost me almost $450. I asked questions that no one could seem to answer and I was made to feel that I shouldn't have been asking these questions. I was told that the AC lines needed to be replaced. I asked where the leak was - the answer "I don't know". I asked if it was the high pressure or low pressure line - the answer - " I don't know" but the fix was going to be almost $2 grand, as "both lines have to be replaced and they come as a kit". I was asked when I wanted to book the repair. I said I needed to think about it. That didn't go over well. I was travelling the next day and I ended up going to another shop and my AC was fixed for under $200. The problem, an O ring at the Schrader valve. Total parts cost $1.50 and then charges to have the system recharged, which had been over charged by Smith in the first place while they diagnosed it. I have emailed their customer relations person, Angela Cross, twice - their service manager once and have left messages on the website to have someone contact me so that I can have someone explain to me how things could have been so far off base. I have tried multiple times to talk to someone as I have wanted to try and work things out and get an understanding of what happened and give them a chance to make things right. I came here for service regularly with my other vehicles before I bought my Tahoe at this dealership, and came there regularly for 8 years that I have owned it. I have never been treated so poorly. And now that no one wants to talk to me about this issue, here I am leaving this review. I would give this experience 0 stars, however the ladies that were working at the reception desk in the service department that day were very pleasant to deal with. If this is how they treat a regular customer........extremely disappointed.

I won't be dealing with this dealership, nor will I recommend it to any friends or family again. I purchased a Silverado from a gentleman 4 years ago who had some minor body work done on it. There was a scratch that needed some touch up.Truck was brand new with under 2000 km. Here I am four years later and a considerable amount of rust is showing. I approached Smiths to see what they could do about it. Before they even knew where the work had been done they informed me that whomever had done the fix did a poor job and that I should inquire with them because it wasn't right or acceptable. After speaking to the previous owner, he informed me that it was actually Smith's that did the repair. I had another visit with the dealership who said they'd make it right. Two days later I recieved a phone call saying they won't do anything to help since I'm the 2nd owner. Regardless, a reputable business such as this should hold themselves to a higher standard. My trucks repair wasnt right or acceptable to begin with. Even the employees said as much. Like others have said. Once you're sold on one of their vehicles you're brushed aside. I wouldn't bother dealing with them again.

Terrible service. I was overcharged and lied to in essentially every way possible. I brought my car in under warranty to diagnose a noise in the front end, they assured me it was fine. 3 months later an oil shop informed me that a control arm and both upper strut mounts needed to be replaced. Giving Smith the benefit of the doubt I brought it to them, when they assured me it was not the strut mount and actually the brakes, and the control arm should be replaced as a precaution. Glen the service manager promised me that they would replace the control arm at 25% of the cost, and give me a better deal if I did the brake job there, which I agreed to. So I paid a premium for a brake job at the dealership and they told me they would call when the part arrives (they said they would call early next week). Three weeks later I had not received a call so I went in to figure things out. They had nothing on paper and after explaining the story multiple times they agreed they would contact me later that day with a price. I was not contacted and came in the next day, where I was again promised a quote that day. I returned again that Monday where I was told Noone was around to help. Finally, on my fourth visit for the same quote I was told that the part actually is in stock and always has been, they then told me that they wouldn't do the discounted rate, and instead would charge me full price on labour and the alignment with a 50% discount on the part. Again, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went through with the job. After I had the control arm replaced the noise continued. I brought it in again, where they said I couldn't go with them for the test drive. They came back saying that it was in fact the strut mounts, as I had said it was initially and that they will need to be replaced. I was furious as I was leaving for Ontario in two days and they didint have time to help me and said that I can contact my local dealer in Ontario for help, they weren't willing to contact and explain the situation for me. I contacted Julie the relations manager the next day, when she assured me she will speak to everyone and call me back soon. I again received no call or help in resolving this issue. Very very disappointing, I'm shocked that a business can be okay with treating it's customers like this. Very very disappointed, I hope that others will choose to bring their business elsewhere as there are other shops who are apparently much more attentive with their work and diagnostics, at cheaper rates, without needing to lie to customers in order to rope them in for additional work. I have been mislead intentionally by multiple employees, they were quick to book me for easy profitable jobs, but ignored obvious signs of common issues because they knew it would look poorly on them, rather than doing right by me and being upstanding, as I did my due diligence while they did the bare minimum at every step. Thank you Smith chevrolet for teaching me a lesson to not be so trusting in business professionals.

Really disappointing when dealer takes on work they don’t have capacity for! Called in seeking same day appointment & Service Advisor told me they had several slots open for the day starting from as early as 815am. Told advisor I would be heading in right away & she said in that case no need to book the appointment, they’ll take care of you on arrival. I dropped off my truck by 820am and expected the 45 min repair would be done before lunch at the very latest. Unfortunately they sat on it all day! In spite of follow up calls at 11am, 12:30pm & 2:30pm, truck was still sitting outside. On the last call Craig the service advisor (booked in the vehicle) went on to tell me I walked in without an appointment, really???? Retrieved my vehicle at 3:45pm and took it elsewhere. They were kind enough to stay late and turned around the repair same evening. Day wasted!

I was travelling from Victoria to Kamloops to visit family, when my transmission broke. Obviously, its a huge repair and a huge cost. James was able to find an extended warranty that could apply, and was able to ensure it was transferred from my Grandfather to myself. The repair was free, and all the staff at Smith Chevrolet were incredibly polite dealing with multiple phone calls from various people in my family. They were patient and helpful, and even after my car left the shop, they were answering my calls. Very impressed.

I bought a 2014 Silverado new/used. It was still under warranty and had so many problems. Trying to get warranty work done is like pulling teeth. They hired Cap-It to install a level kit. My front axles went way before their time and they told me it’s because of the aftermarket level kit I put in. I told them that I bought it like that off their lot. They refused to fix the problem and I will not ever let them fix this truck again. DO NOT GO TO SMITH CHEV I tried as hard as I could to resolve the issue with the service team and sales manager with absolutely no results. If they actually want to help me fix the problem they had plenty of opportunities. I had another shop fix it and write a report on it, I then provided this report to Smith Chev. They pretty much said they can’t do anything for me. Now they responded to this review. They have my number and have not reached out to me.

The sales guys are good and nice. But once you buy a vehicle and try to get whatever done to it you're put in a backseat. My family has numerous vehicle bought here and if we try to get something done as simple as an oil change and have an appointment for first thing in the morning, it's still at least 2-3 hours before we get the vehicle back. I've had my truck in multiple times for Bluetooth issues with a brand new (few months on the market new) phone. They said they can't do anything and I have to call GM Assembly and file a complaint. I did that, 4 hours on the phone with GM and On Star they said they'd get a GM Assembly tech in to look at it. They never did that. It's been in multiple times for an issue they won't fix. They say it's my phone when I've already had that end checked out. Oh ya, and this is still all under warranty. Go to Zimmer Wheaton, don't waste your time here.

Great service at the start when I was looking to buy. Once I bought my vehicle, seems like I don’t matter. I bought a pro package for the truck that cost 4000. I have been chasing them for 3 months now trying to get everything done for the pro package. Seems like only the one guy knows about the package I bought and he’s never around. I thought everything that the package covers would be in the system, but every time I bring it up to the service department, they are unsure what I am talking about. Donno what it will be like if I take my truck in for things the package covers and they have no idea about it, they might charge me for things I am covered for. I am still working on getting everything done on my truck, keep finding more things they haven’t done. Takes a lot of time out of my life to keep bringing it back just to get a few more things done. I just don’t like how I have to keep guess on things they still owe me that they have to get done to the truck. So that’s why I give them one star. The one star is for the great service from the sales man. If it wasn’t for him, I would give zero stars I also took my 2018 Silverado in after 400 km, because the truck was shutting down. Once I got it back, there was three good scratches in the box on the driver side.
