REVIEWS OF Marmot Basin IN Jasper

Hailey Saulou

Great hills and amazing views, the chairlifts also move very fast :)

Benjamin Duff

Lovely little resort, but buy your lift tickets in advance if you're going during the holidays or weekends. The queue was huge our first day, luckily we could skip then the next day

Coreena Dunham

The lifts are very quick, the mountain is a great size for beginners and for experienced skiers. All of the runs were well groomed and maintained, the staff was cheerful and the road going up was plowed and sanded. The parking sucks unless you get there early, but honestly people parked like complete idiots so what can you do. The mid-mountain chalet had some good deals on beer but the food was expensive and was not great quality. $20~ for nacho chips with convenience store cheese drizzle and it came out on the cooler side of warm. The service was excellent though!

Kyra Sklar

Gorgeous hill, lots of open space, no lift lineups, and room to play. For more complex terrain head to Eagles East or hike to Cornice & try Tres Hombres. There are constantly events going on at the hill so watch their website for the next exciting thing going on! The chairlifts are fast, the runs are well groomed, and the staff is friendly!

Patrick Crosman

Excellent hill. Great staff. Well groomed and as much snow as you can expect

Andrei Vigh

The basin was a awesome pace to visit on my list you have to hike here it’s about 2 hours the hike and the parking lot is 10 min from town but it is worth it to visit!

Arash Jooya

Very nice place with friendly staff my kids had a lot of fun skiing there

Bryn Erickson

Great mountain. Learned to ski here with my family a long time ago. Always come back at some point.

C.E.L

This is my favorite hill, love the trails in the trees!

Kris Toijonen

Great runs, helpful staff and friendly atmosphere made for a wonderful experience! The views from the upper levels of the mountain are spectacular! Well worth the visit and will be back!

Jasper Guy

Hit the powder day March 4, 2017, pretty awesome day, seemed like Marmot Basin fell asleep on the wheel in clearing parking lots early and prepping the road, huge line up I have never seen for many moons, actually ever since the 20 plus years. They knew the snow was coming, so they should have prepared. The huge dump made up for their actions. #explorejasper

Chris Bargy (Vortek Construction)

One of my favorite ski hills. Great terrain, doesn't get too busy too often. Epic views on a clear day.

Jazz Caffyn

Amazing hill, great staff <3

Joel Lavoie

Skiing here is amazing, for every level. Make your own lunch, the cafeteria is expensive and the menu is just your standard diner food.

Imran Aslam

Best skiing resort so far. I love the fact that there something for everyone. Like if you are new to this and never have done this before, you can take class for 2 hours and I bet you won't need it next time. Fairly priced too. We got our equipment from them and other stuff rental from Jasper city as in snow pants and jackets. Parking is enough for all. Great experience. A must go for winter travellers coming to Jasper city.

mitchell p

Had fun snowboarding

Matt Bell

I always enjoy my experience at Marmot. I've learned to bring my own food, because the prices there are just crazy. The staff are always helpful and friendly, and the conditions are usually really good. Hard to argue against this hill! I"ll be back!

Justin T

Absolutely amazing ski hill. Tons of runs to keep you busy the whole day! My only complaint is the way the parking is designed. You are meant to drive up to the lot, and ski / board down to the lodge where the lifts are. While this is great for experienced people with their own gear, renting / taking lessons with no way to drop yourself off is quite cumbersome. Additionally, at 4 when the hill closes both lanes become south bound lanes, so don't forget anything in the lodge / lockers and try to fight your way against traffic .

Shawn Routledge

Little morning chair lift love.

Lmont Brooks

Grrrrrreat local mtn with alot of great runs

Connor Aitch

Do the knob hike, great views!

Brittany Trommelen (Btromm)

First time skiing outside of ontario. All i got to say is WOW!!! This is a great place as they have areas for all levels. Staff was super friendly.

Patrick Sanders

Great hill and awesome fun. Lines for lifts are not long at all. Great place for kids to learn.

Zachary Schneider (Zach)

Good skiing for the short distance I have to travel, although prices have gone up.

Maclean Dreffke

Love marmot everytime me and my family goes. It's close to jasper which is great for staying over moght and going for a few days. Rentals are super easy to get and really well places in reference to the hill. You can just get onto the hill right after you receive rentals so you don't have to carry your skis all over. When it comes to parking it's just as good. There is lots and you can ski to and from the parking lot. The chalet is a decent size and offers tons of great food. I would recommend this hill to anyone. It even has a little area where the hill isnt so harsh for the people who are just starting.

Leanne Klimek

I'm pretty bad at skiing but I really enjoy this place. It's beautiful, with enough green runs that I can practice and not get bored! Did I mention it's beautiful?!

Chris M

Great family friendly ski hill, friendly professional staff that want to help you. The ski runs are set up so the runs dont get to congested even on really busy days. Only downside is there arent many powder runs

Lisa Marcinowski

First time there and being on an actual mountain to snowboard. Had a great time. Very busy, but people were courteous. Getting lift tickets was fast.

Jungil “Jay” Yoon

Overally excellent. I think their terrains are a little bit difficult for beginners and intermediates (who are closed to beginner). For intermediate to advance, it is good place to practice. One thing a little bit uncomfortable is the way from parking lot to lodge. You should take ski or snowboard to get the lodge from parking lot. ????

Garry Desmarais

First time here and will be returning, love it with so many runs to choose from . Amiture all the way up to the experienced skier.

Andrew Hoddinott

Great place to go skiing, 120% would recommend to anyone who loves skiing in general. The staff were great the weather was perfect and it's really worth the price.

Cam Turnbull

Very underestimated mountain by advanced skiers like myself. The terrain here is amazing and when it has snow it stays because none of the beginners go near it. And if eagles east is open when you go there, get ready for some of the best inbounds skiing in the Rockies. Ask some of the guides if it’s your first time they will be happy to point you in the right direction and exited to hear that people are going to these spots. But if you are uncomfortable with big mountain skiing marmot also offers great beginner trails!

Leona Cook

Love Marmot Basin Ski Hill. We love the parking and how you can just ski to your car. Lots of amazing runs and lots of trails in the trees.

Craig Coley

Enjoyed a great time w/ friends here. We skied the slopes and rested on a turbulent mid afternoon wind storm. Cleaned Groomed. And fresh powder all weekend long.

Patrick Kania

Beautiful place to visit, I hopped on the hills thought my wax would be good for the cold mountain definitely wasn't. They got my board freshly waxed in the pro shop within 15 minutes and I was back out ready to go. If there was night time boarding or skiing this place would be even better. Lift tickets were 100 for the day pretty standard compared to the other mountains.

Clair Robertson

My first time skiing in the mountains. Beautiful views and no lineups at the lifts. Three parking lots offer ski out and ski back to the car trails. The rental process was quick and efficient and the quality of the equipment was great. The instructor for my lesson patiently helped me gain confidence in my ability and offered insight on what to work on to improve my skill level

Radek W

Great snow conditions, even though it hadn't snowed in a couple weeks, we still managed to find some fresh stashes after hiking off the top of knob chair. No crowds even on a weekend in mid March, loved the food and pints on the mountain under the sun.

Raphael Jantzi

Awesome powder with great variety and no lines at the lifts!

Emmanuel Igbokwe

One of my favorite Alberta ski resorts. The direct lift tickets take the waiting in line for a lift pass out of the equation. Good value in the escape card Marmot offers which can be purchased at local ski shops. Good size mountain for those who are just learning or more experienced skiers and boarders. There is a skills area, slalom area, rock gardens, and a couple bowl areas. Lift tickets are also reasonably priced (cheaper than Sunshine and Lake Louise). They offer single lessons as well as group lessons. You can tailgate in the parking lot for lunch or grab a bit and drink from the various chalets on the hill.

Monica Baker

I was definitely happy to have found this treasure! Overall great experience with great staff!

Aidan Mark (Akimbo)

Amazing trees, great variety of slopes. Perfect intermediate hill

Landon Maits

Marmot is my favorite hill for convenience. 4 hrs from Edmonton with enough variety on the mountain to keep everyone happy. Awesome Caesars and the mid mountain chalet. Never had lineups that are too crazy for the lifts. I will always go back here

Breanna Morin

Always beautiful here! Delicious poutine and friendly ski/snowboard instructors

Mel B

Had such a great day on the hill. I cant wait to come back.

David Stanford

Really nice ski mountain for the whole family. There is plenty of single and double black diamond train for those that like to pursue more extreme runs, well those who don't can enjoy some really nice smooth sailing on a variety of blue and green runs. The parking setup could be a little more convenient but the staff at the hill as a fantastic job of making it work really smoothly. Recommend if you can bring in your own food because as you would expect the food on the hill is somewhat expensive.

Andrew Van der Leek

Great skiing. Love the skiing to and from vehicle.

aggie proczkowski

Best spring skiing in a long time

John Dea

Great hill, great service. Iteas too cold to ski one day and I got a full credit for my rental. Fast and efficient.

Quasi

Excellent conditions, and superb piste staff. Helpful lift operators, and very nice patrollers. I was very much looking forward to the double-diamonds in the Eagle Ridge as some challenging pistes, but unfortunately that entire section was off-limits whilst I was there. Apparantly that's not uncommon if you're skiing there late December, so if I ever do return, I'll make sure to go later in the season so I can experience the best Marmot has to offer! On a side note about Jasper, I saw some incredible wildlife journeying to and from the resort. For a first time in Canada, it really was something special.

krzysztof mruk

Very good ski resort. Lots of nice trails highly recommend

Jk Patel

Very beautiful . All rentals available to rent

Chase Willford

Awesome runs, really great selection of different lifts and runs with plenty of options for all levels of ski and snowboard skill.

Noreen Utri

Booked with Backside Tours and stayed in Jasper. Great helpful staff and early season skiing was great.

coenraad Roerig

Pros: all facilities are present, the shop has good stuff and there's a nice variety of slopes and no waiting lines. Cons: a bit small scale and no apres ski. Good to know: literally everything closes around 16:00 but the shuttle to Jasper leaves at 15:45 and 17:00.

Angie Lowis

Love love love! Super people, great times and a well looked after hill!

Brooks MacDonald

I visit the hill twice a year. There is something for everyone. The food is really good in the upper chalet as well.

Ron Olson

Fun, fun and more fun!

Milly Gemma Duffield

Fabulous skiing. Great and helpful staff on the mountain and lessons were wonderful. Thanks matt from ninja academy snowboarding!!!!

Stephen Bosch

Great skiing experience

Ryan C

Very beautiful area of the world. Great beginner terrain and chalet. Lots of children at times. Great coffee.

Carolina Franco

Amazing school, little pricey but it worth it, Denise is very patient and great teacher

Myriam Pelletier

Well designed ski resort. I love the ski in from parking lots. Lots of variety in terrains. Would go back.

Mark W

Great resort. On the small side, but very good for families.

Jessika White

Amazing skiing hill, I could spend a whole week there skiing if I could!

Rob Swierczynski

Quiet ski resort, family friendly.

Marcella Morneau

Had an amazing time in marmot! Fresh tracks all day!

Kuriea

Nice ski resort. Not as busy as the other nearby places. Nice variety or runs. Great for beginners.

Kristin Cooknell

A great hill!

Boarder4Life

You just can't beat marmot. Plain and simple. Yes, it's nice to visit other resorts. No, marmot doesn't get the snow like other resorts... But marmot is special. Best family hill because the kids can always get a green run and meet you at the chair. You can ride right to your car so you can pack a lunch.... Even a barbeque.

Leann Knysh

Kids had an excellent day snowboarding.. great lessons and board.

VK Kalra

Awesome place without doubt. But parking is a pain for starter skier. Then not proper knowledge/information on their website and or by the rep working at the counter. Plus if you end up getting a little tight shoe size then it's all another Hassel. However, the guy who was teaching us, was awesome. For him and the experience it's 5 stars. But due to customer service was really poor, at the main counter. Where no one even care to help us for first 3 min as they all were talking behind the counter while looking at us. Thus 4 stars.

Steve Mebs

Best family resort around!

Mr. Schmidt

Way better then the hills further south. Not near as busy...

Seamus Muldrew

Tons of runs to enjoy, semi helpful employees and good environment.

B Korby

Great family friendly hill, never lined and great snow!

Brittany Biggin

Loved the hill and the staff were friendly. My only issue was I received different instructions from 3 different staff regarding the same procedure so it was confusing but pleasant none the less!

Timothy Wollman

Excellent skiing, at a very decent price! We got the midweek ski package at the Whistler's Inn, and it's excellent value. The map of the runs is simple and easy to memorise so you don't get lost ????

Jay Wilcox

World class views , world class slopes .

Talena Baker

One of my favorite ski resorts, especially for beginner - intermediates. There are slopes for everyone. It has a small chalet so finding somewhere to sit can be challenging. Tons of parking though that you can ski too. They have rentals available on site but i recommend renting in town if you want cheaper rates.

Sue Marko

Came up for lunch and was really pleasantly surprised with the lounge food! We had the fish tacos and the taco salad with salmon and were very happy with taste, portion and creativity! Excellent service and fun drink features rounded out the experience, a great lunch in a fabulous setting!!

Js Boutin

Amazing place, like other mountain the snow is weather dependant and I was lucky. That aside, the staff are very friendly, the buildings are cleaned routinely and they try their hardest to respect covid-19 restrictions. I also enjoyed the park and ski down to the lift.

King

Good place to ski or snowboard. Lots of terrain. If you like hiking with your gear on, this is the place to be

Ashley Benzzinni

My family and I had made a late call the Sunday before family day to make a day trip to the mountain, it was a great day of skiing and a long one! The staff are friendly, I would like to see and just a suggestion that when local Albertans take an Alberta Break a special discount should apply via proof of a Alberta DL. This would be greatly appreciate it by the many thousands of Oilfield families that are experiencing tumultuous times! Just a Thought

Shyanne Summer

Great hill. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because there is a really awful smell at the bottom of the lifts but otherwise we had a great time. Best lifts are near the top, fresh powder and lots of room for going in the trees. Differently will be back!

Bryan Syryda

Friendly staff, great runs and no line.

Lance Wolfe

Good hill!

Walker

Good resort skiing. It is important to note here that the resort is not allowed to expand due to restrictions by Parks Canada. There is a huge amount of terrain available with just a short bootpack or skin. The base can be quite shallow so exposed rock, trees, and dirt are an issue on South aspect single tracks. There is skiing into May usually.

Warren Zalasky

Marmot has always been my favorite ski hill. Great runs, great high speed quad chairs. You never have to take the same route down. Ski out / ski in parking and 2 full service chalets. Lift tickets have gotten expensive but overall always worth it.

joshua perron

A wonderful place to go skiing, lots of different runs and a good selection of most difficulties. Still a little low on snow but definitely worth it

Randy Norman

Busier than busy

TAYLER MELIN

Marmot is my favorite Alberta Mountain from January through to the end of the season. They get their snow later in the season but then fresh powder is easy to come by. Get out there in the morning and enjoy quiet areas and no lines for the lifts, especially during the week! The locals like to collect for a coffee at the Paradise Chalet mid morning, and tourists start to fill the hill by mid day. With so many lifts and runs the options are endless for whatever conditions and terrain you're into.

Red

Mountain was great. Instructors for the lesson was great. It was a good day for skiing.

Ken Young

Lots of different terrain to choose from and the snow was terrific! I would definitely recommend skiing at Marmot if you get the chance.

Lora Beth Walker

We had an amazing time with our ski instructor Marie! We are in Jasper for our honeymoon and haven’t been skiing in many years! She made sure we were comfortable and confident all day long! The rest of the staff and operation was fantastic as well!! Very efficient process for rentals and lift operations! Great food at the Caribou Cafe as well!

Bill Kapphahn

Best hill for locals! Not as crowded or touristy as banff.

Cameron Klassen

Great resort with less commercialized feel than Sunshine or Lake Louise. Slopes are well groomed, with a good variety of runs. We loved it! What a great experience fo skiers and snow boarders at all skill levels.

Jay Jhangri

Excellent mountain for skiing or snowboarding. Lots of runs to choose from.

Monika Lapolonaise

The best place I skied in my whole life!

Sharise Doolaege

My favorite hill in relative distance to Edmonton. I got the Marmot card and saved myself a bunch of money. Snow is usually great!

James Hill

An integral part of what makes Jasper a world class ski town.

John King

I like the terrain here. It’s a big mountain with lots of choices. I spent four days in spring riding and really never became bored. There are three terrain parks which are a lot of fun. Up top there is a lot of wide open bowls and when there’s fresh snow it’s really world class. The chalet’s a bit dated but so is most everything around Jasper. Food’s decent.

Laura

Fantastic ski hill with lots of great slopes at all levels, some of the best snow in the world, phenomenal views, super friendly staff, great private lessons, a ski shop, rentals, and café.

Jean-Rémi L. Prost

Was closed in October, but the place is beautiful with sun and offer great view.

Chumz Alexis

The views alone are worth the trip

Daryl Heffernan

Great skiing with lots of runs.

Tristan

Well I'm from Edmonton and marmit basin is always worth a early morning drive to get some fresh snow

Gloria Rivera

Great mountain! Great runs, all levels of skiing available!

pat greene

Awesome ski destination

Pinksugarbb

Awesome experience snowboarding at this place! One of the best hills I've been to :)

Devon Chipman

Lots of terrain, multiple lifts, theres something for every type of skiier/snowboarder

Nrupesh G

Great place to ski. Varied and interesting runs. Friendly staff running the place.

joel white

How can anyone complain about , great snow, great runs and great staff.

Sloane Dalmer

Can't get enough of this place. It's difficult to find a mountain I enjoy as much as Marmot. You can manage to find skiing terrain for just about any technical level every run, and it's almost never busy.

Braden Antoniuk

Myself and two other friends went snowboarding early in the season. Upon arriving we found that they offered escape cards that made lift tickets half off. This discount card costed the price of a regular ticket and stacks with the student discount as well. The hill was well maintained and not icy which was perfect. The lift operators are all bubbly and there are no complaints!

Bryan Birn

A good ski resort for families and friends. Not too big, not too small. You can see almost all of the skiiable terrain from the main chairlift, so it makes it easy to choose your adventures.

BOB LOBLAW

Not the best but definitely up there. Great amount of runs, plenty of food, and drinks

Jon Poulin

Great place to ski or board. They have updated chair lifts that are fast up the mountain but slow down to get on. There is a good amount of chairs lifts to explore the mountain. The snow was pretty good for a so early into the season. We ate lunch at the chalet at the base and ordered a burger and chili. The burger was good and the chili was fantastic and highly recommend it. There was a good amount of seating even if you bring your own lunch.

Scott Henderson

Lift lines are always short and the northeast facing mountain rarely ices up. A great family ski resort!

Cody Schellenberger

Marmot Basin is a staple in my family! My daughter is now learning how to ski. Rikke was her instructor for a couple hours and Rikke is an absolute professional. Working with kids is a talent and art. My daughter felt supported and safe. Great work Rikke and thank you Marmot for welcoming us every year (I wish it was more often).

Rene V

-35c the two days I went. Hills were still immaculate. Staff was chatty and friendly, even the poor lifties! Great beginner to expert hill, although not a lot of off piste runs to be had. If you like groomers up to black/double black, great hill. If you like it a bit more 'wild' this might not be your hill.

Alexander Wolf

Nice lifts nice skiing a bit windy and icy at certain parts and watch out for the rocks at the very top. Loved the amount of runs. I didn't get to do everything in 2 days so I'll have to come back. Staff was great at the lodge. The parking lots are strategically well placed too. Overall I had a great time.

Nathanael Trinh

Weather was beautiful, and the people were very nice. I had a very good snowboard instructor that was patient and took the time to teach well.

D C

Midweek perfect. No lines. Snow was great. Love it

Kaye Nantais

Lifts are nothing special. They closed two lifts for 30m during the day. Terrain is fun. If you are a first timer, the package with lessons and lower ski pass is worth it. Super Fast equipment rental service.

It's Me

5*s for Staff Becca * (Rebecca ?) for helping me today on the lift.

Tracey Nyhus

Went on boxing day. Not too busy and All runs were open. Christmas poutine with Turkey and trimmings at upper chalet was delicious

Michael Ruvinskiy

Love this place. Runs are wide and well balanced for all skiing levels.

Mike K

Wicked bluebird day for spring skiing !!!

Cees Stolk

Awesome place to ski

Kris Allen

Fantastic ski day. Resort was great. Staff was friendly as always.

David Knight

Best resort in North America! ????

Ric Pelkey

I'm here skibiking and I must say the terrain is great for skibikes. Varied options and quick runs. Friendly staff. I'll be coming here again and again.

Katie Huisman

I have always loved this Hill and I will always come back.

oktawian Sniegula

Awsome place to spend time with friends and family on ???? or snowboard For beginners and pro

Ella Lajeunesse

Loved this ski hill before i moved in 2019. Tree runs were always so fun and weren't incredibly challenging but still fun. Skiing lasts usually from November to march which is a decent season. There are runs for evreyone there and im hoping i can come back this winter while moving back to the area

moe barzagar

One of my favorite hills because its a great hill but also not nearly as busy the ones in banff area. The ski instructors are also some of the best there is.

ryan denesik

Very busy get there early

Gary Walsh

Definitely my least favourite of the hills I've been to in Alberta. The hill itself has spectacular views, but the runs are laid out in such a strange way, nothing like the long trails at Lake Louise and Nakiska. The absence of grooming the runs led to huge difficulties for skiers everywhere after a night that saw a foot of dense heavy snow come down. Filthy washrooms.

Ron Unrau

Great snow this year - don't miss it! The knob wasn't open because of avalanche concerns, but they were doing testing while I was there so maybe it's open now. Skiing was especially great under Paradise chair

richard kusi-menkah

Wide open runs, decent runs for all ski/ snowboard skill levels

kari reimer

Nice pow

Brett H

I'm from Manitoba and live in Alberta. Basically any mountain ski resort is going to tickle my fancy. For the price you can't really go wrong at Marmot (we get our tickets through Costco). One of my favorite things about Marmot is the ability to ski in and out of the parking lots. This makes for such easy days. No hauling things to lockers or having long walks. The mountain itself has lots to offer. Obviously like anywhere else, snow conditions can get a little dicey depending on recent snowfall. They do their best to make as much snow as possible and groom some great trails.

Ken Purcell

It where you want to be!

Tailor Pethick

Best place to go for convenience if you live in the Edmonton area. I highly recommend getting the Marmot escape card

Heather Lastiwka

Lots of variation in runs for different abilities. Staff here is consistently friendly, welcoming and helpful - as in, it stands out they are so hospitable. Trails are well groomed or covered in soft fresh snow. Lift lines are rare and fast even if ot is busy because of the several mid mountain its that carry load away from the base. One of my favorite features: the Kokanee deck at the Caribou lodge - covered tables with your own propane fire pit. What a sweet way to take in the Vista, warm up and enjoy the alpine experience. Covid safety is taken seriously, face masks required, social distanced lines, limited seating indoors and super well managed. The hill encourages tailgating with your household with byo food and bevvies. Caution: get here early for a parking spot! The lots are ski out which is excellent, but there are only 4 lots and first come, first serve. Without parking, you are 25 mins from Jasper so it is a drop off or you are SOL. Again, the team will do their best to park the volume of traffic well to get as many in as possible.

Jonathan Janveaux

Marmot is a great place to hit up. Especially if you are just starting to learn and want to challenge yourself a little more. Most of the runs are not very challenging and yet fun enough to keep coming back for more. The staff (like on most ski resorts) are very friendly and always want to make sure that you have a good time on the hill. Like most skiing the longer you stay the better time you will have.

Brenton Vander Wal

As an Edmontonian, this is my favourite mountain! It's close enough to do as a day trip, but not so close to any major cities that it's busy. Sometimes there are lines for the express quad at the bottom, but generally they are small, and lines are practically non-existent on the other lifts. There's plenty of variety in terrain, so everyone should be able to find something they want to ride. And with the escape card, you get 50% off all lift tickets, which pays for itself after a couple days.

Kristian Jegodtka

This is definitely the best ski resort in Alberta and I've come back year after year since I was a baby just to experience it again. Marmot Basin beats alp of the hustle and traffic of Lake Louise, Banff, and Sunshine, with the same if not better snow conditions. If you're from Edmonton or anywhere else in northern Alberta this is 100% worth the drive.

Jack Wickwar

Plenty of slopes which are all wide and easy to get too

Steven Watkins

One of my favourite ski hills in Canada. Great for skiers of all skill.

Jared Heinrichs

Need to get more workers around lunch time. Long line ups. Amazing hill.

Keenan Radyk

Absolutely beautiful mountain. Conditions great, chairs are quick, nd lots of different runs for all skill levels. But I didn't see a single marmot so what's the point? 1/5 stars for an absolute let down.

Justice Callander

Fun mountain for all skills. The doubles are fun and lots of trees. Staff are always nice and you can ski right to your car ????

Kevin Taylor

Lots of quad lifts. Many runs for all levels. Beginner area is very easy for learning.

Richard Parker

Sweet hill. Has a really good flow to it. Knob chair is pretty epic terrain. Lots of runs u can only get to by hiking if u r more adventurous. I like how they made the carparks all at ski out locations so u don't have to walk much. Also u ski from car parks down to the ticket area. Really neat design. Trees are also perfectly spaced and not too tight for forest riding .

Desiree Stewart

Marmot is so much fun to snowboard. Way better than Lake Louise or Sunshine in my opinion.

DD ggmm

It is a spectacular ski and snowboarding mountain! But the better you are the better the slopes.

Josh Henry

Very awesome skiing here!

Glen Lario

Fantastic ski hill, great runs & staff.

Anne Moon

Beautiful day, great runs for all levels of skier.

Sabrina Dhalla

Soooo good! Safe, organized, friendly staff made this a ski trip to remember! Thank you!

Janet Clarke Bell

Fabulous and beautiful place to ski

Philippe Filion

The trails are really nice, the view from the top of the Canadian Rockies chair is astonishing. Really a nice place to go, don't go on Saturday or Sunday it's so crowded

Kayla Thorell

Awesome hill with plenty of great view! If it is a clear day you are able to see the town of Jasper as well as the many mountains that surround it. Not too busy which made our experience a great one.

JJ McRae

The parking area can be a title sketchy, as is the drive up and down the mountain if there's freezing rain, but the skiing and boarding is amazing.

Brad Apples

Good little ski resort for families and intermediate skiers. Doesn't get the powder like the BC resorts but is not overly crowded in the week days. No accommodation on the hill but an easy drive up.

Sara I

Great place, no gondola only chairlift so keep in mind if you struggle with dismount. Green runs are gentle and great for beginners learning to snowboard. I had forgotten my Costco ticket back in Edmonton thinking Costco had only sold me one ticket instead of two for my partner and I. The admin on staff was very accommodating and sold me another ticket at cost pricing only. Really appreciated it!

tatted savage

Absolutely beautiful! Amazing runs ,super friendly and knowledgeable staff 10/10 Highly recommend

Joke van Dam

It was our first time non-Europeen snow. It was amazing! Snowboarding in Marmot basin is so much more back to nature. Back to the essential spirit of snowboarding: just me, the mountain and the snow. We had a lot of fresh snowfall and the most perfect powder snow. What an experience, but a killer for my legs! What I really liked, was the free skiing and bowl skiing. This is so different than the slopes in Europe. Staff was so friendly and helpfull. Only thing I disliked: just two lifts had a bar to rest your board on. The other lifts were a leg- and feetkiller. Since there were no bars, you could not let your feet rest. But all the rest was just amazing. We'll be back!

Michael

Not the largest of ski hills but one of its perks is how quiet it is through the week. Some days I feel like I am the only person on the hill. There is a nice little praise stunt park plus a larger one too with jumps. Only about 30 minute drive from the town of Jasper. Well worth the visit.

Dorothy Hamilton

Marmot is a great resort for all levels and is well laid-out so that you can easily explore lots of terrain. Good parking lot design, you can ski in and out from where you park which saves the annoying trek with your skis. They don’t have any on-hill accommodations but Jasper and Hinton are close by.

Patrick Deregt

Good hill. especially Monday to Friday it is very quiet

Vivek Reddy

Skiing for the first time...it was hard but fun

Joseph Noel LeChasseur

Excellent skiing Excellent ski instructor, Pam is great with young people. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Gemma is a Gem.

Landon Bruha

First time snowboarding on the mountains and it was a great experience at Marmot. Rentals were hassle free and in great condition, lines for the chair lift were short and moved pretty fast.

Tom E

I've been here many times over the last 10 years and never had a bad day. The snow doesn't normally disappoint and there is plenty of variety including tree runs This said, the mountain is a lot smaller compared to some of the surrounding resorts so I have a hard time being there for more than a day. Living in Edmonton it is very easy to go for a day but if I was coming from Calgary or BC there is more mountain to explore, closer and for longer.

Trevor Johnston

I’ve been to this ski resort close to 100 times over the last 35 years, and for a number of years held a season pass. I’m pretty happy with the chairlift evolution and how efficient things have become. The food is always good and I even tried the rental shop recently and they were excellent! I’ve come with our kids junior high and the staff did an excellent job taking care of them. I’ve been with people that have needed a ride down after being injured and they’ve always been professional, caring and comfortable to work with. Marmot Basin is a gem!

Deann Cable

Even 4 hrs away I consider myself a regular. This hill never disappoints. For a tourist you may not be drawn to the quiet quaintness of Jasper but this hill has it all and won’t disappoint. If you have beginners or nervous skiers there is a great lesson program / segregated “hill”. They can then graduate to a modest run near the chalet with its own shirt lift to build confidence to take on the mountain. Even up top there are less intimidating ways to ski out if the black diamonds aren’t your thing. With two lodges to enjoy..you can have a full day taking in the runs and find convenient breaks at lower or mid mountain. To save a few bucks we always pack a lunch. Sit in the “basement” of mid-mountain since it’s always less crowded, has a fountain and microwave and also near the bathrooms. A true ski in/out. Keep an eye on events they may be hosting...often get lucky with live music outside the lodge with contests. And Always have a a Caesar.

Janet Dunkley

What can I say,,, I love this place.

Ian Swanbeck

First time skiing in 30 years. It all came back fast and Marmot was a great place for the whole family to learn to ski.

Saad Y. Salim

Amazing place to snowboard. Plenty of trails for all levels.

Mike Goss

Great hill for all levels. Epic on a pow day. Gorgeous on a blue bird.

Jeremy Kaufmann

icy and rocky???? that day

Andrew Reid

Great runs and great lifts. Small enough to feel quaint, large enough that you can spend a weekend there

Ashley Steinkey

What a great christmas trip. Even with covid restrictions everything was easy and we had no issues. Pre purchase your tickets the lines in the am were long.

Jeffrey Michaud

Good fall conditions, bottom half has lots of grinned runs, top half has a couple but the rest is natural. This is my favorite ski hill. Lots of varied terrain and challenges, the food on the hill is pretty good. I love that I can ski in and out of the parking lot.

mary reimer

Great fun for the family!!

Canadian Radiochemist

Great place for skiing & snowboarding, all levels of skill, a lot of area to ski

KC Sure

Best ski resort of the Country and all North America. Simply amazing. The price is cheaper than other resorts in Alberta, the slopes are easy for begginers and challenging for experts and the food courts are good enough to spend a splendid day.

Marek Vince

First time going to the mountains for snowboarding and I have to say it was an amazing experience

Morgan Dunn

Awesome hill. It's our go to for a weekend on the hill.

Geordie Cheeseman

Well maintained hill, friendly staff. Expensive lift passes and rentals but look for deals.

Jason Wywal

Cold day on the hill but the conditions were very good for early season!

Visal Ebbott

Dont be scared to go to the tipity top. Theres a green circle up there. Also. Great place for a pic.

Adam Sweet

Great hill and a local gem for Edmonton and Alberta.

Chris Burdett

What an awesome trip I would highly recommend this place

Nomadicdragon99

Great trails and wonderful service just a bit pricey

Peter Jonkman

Ski conditions are amazing for late November. Covid precautions are reasonable, and not overly intrusive. Staff are upbeat and super accommodating.

Mark Friesen

Marmot was awesome. Taylor was amazing was polite to tell us that he needed to clear the patio. He was fast and polite. Great job Taylor.

Stephen Chow

Amazing views and great runs. Would definitely recommend coming here to ski or snowboard. Injuries occur like a friend of mine who somehow sprained his knee on a bunny hill. Plenty of parking around, and if you park on the upper lots you can ski or board down to the main area.

Mandy Saunders

Skiing was beautiful today. Not busy at all and the conditions were good. Great for so late in the season I would say.

Daniel Vanden Brink

My favorite resort in Alberta. Great runs, and very few flat areas, which is a plus for snowboarders.

Travis Grant

Since 1999, I've been fortunate to have lived in Jasper, North Vancouver, and New Zealand, and I've been able to travel the US and Europe. Being in these places gave me the opportunity to ride dozens of resort around the world. There are lots of great places to ski and snowboard. I've had deep, powdery days in all of them (especially during the NZ winter of 04 -- wow); but for me it always seems to come back to Marmot Basin. I love the terrain, I love the speed of the place, I love the people, and I love that it's just far enough away from any major city that it never sees the traffic that typically ruins places like Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. Marmot Basin is one of Canada's best kept secrets. Don't tell your friends.

Ryan Sinfield

Marmot Basin is gem. Easy access, great parking, conditions, price, amenities, staff, all excellent. Coming from Edmonton, I have a choice of Nakiska, Sunshine, Norquay, Lake Louise with similar travel times to drive to Jasper. Coming from Edmonton also means I have a 4.5 hour drive no matter where I choose to go. I was at Marmot basin yesterday during the power outage. Though I appreciate the effort from the front line workers, I feel they were let down by choices by management. The power went out around midnight. I left Edmonton at 5am, and checked the Marmot Basin web site before I left for weather and road conditions. Nothing on the website indicated the power outage. The majority of the patrons that visited Marmot Basin on the 4th, left without a single lap. Marmot has back up power to run the Canadian Rockies Express Quad, well they claim they do. During the power outage, they couldn't run the lift consistently, it didnt start until around 1030, and it only managed to get a few hundred people up before they shut it down and it stayed down until the power for the whole site was restored at 1:30. For those that stayed, including myself, we were treated to fantastic conditions, and patient and professional staff. Like I said, my issues is not with the front line staff, or the place, only with how it is managed. Management could have informed patrons by updating the website, they could have an actual contingency plan for a working chair during an outage. The tills were working to take payment, and then refunds, that system was working consistently. Ensuring you can actually deliver a consistent lift is essential.

Blaire D

Not much to say other than the ski conditions are usually pretty good (even considering how much of a warm winter Alberta has been having). Chairs are fast (besides knobb) so you can get lots and lots of runs in! I would highly suggest coming on a weekday when there aren't a bunch of school groups or families with kiddos coming in -It's almost deserted on the weekdays which is awesome!!

Ed Leung

I consider Marmot one of my home mountains, together with sunshine village. Big fan of the size and placement of the parking lots being near the bottom of the hill, meaning you can pick up things from the car throughout the day rather than storing them in the chalet. Lifts are up to date with almost all quads with the exception of the knob chair which is still a double. Lower runs can be packed as with any hill, conditions change quickly, but if you get a good clear day go to the knob for great powder, not many make the trip up here. If you're adventurous, hike to the top after getting off the chair. The view is incredible. I've been here for a few freezing days though, (-30) and it ain't that much fun on those days. Tip: from January on, they have the midweek deal where you can get a lift pass and hotel stay at the Marmot lodge for roughly $125 per person. That's pretty much $25 pp for the hotel room.

Troy Boone

Had a great time on the slopes there this season!! Awesome job to all the great employees that work hard to keep the their customers happy. Everyone was very friendly and eager to help the customers with everything they needed.. ???????? See you next season!!

Fern Bond

Great stafff and beautiful scenery

Arik Deines

Always a good time! New RF system is deadly! Hill was in great shape with a foot of fresh pow at the top!

Don B

Love the place. Something for everyone.

Camryn Bernardin

Marmot Basin was great, I’ve only been to smaller ski hills so I didn’t know what to expect. I was a little nervous not being a great skier but this mountain has tons of green runs! I got to go right to the top of the mountain and then there was still a green run for me. I did a couple blues as well and there are so many different trails. You could take a different path all day long and not run out, truly a great hill! I started the day snowboarding but wanted to ski instead and the rental shop was great about doing the swap!

Liam G

Great ski hill with amazing view. Snow isnt the best but marmots terrain makes up for that. You can go from the steep, double black diamonds on eagle ridge, the nice, fluffy powder near the knob chair, or the beginner section at the bottom. Oh yeah, if you head up the road to the ski hill, make sure to have nice winter tires, a decent engine.

Ava Foxwell

My dad starting taking us here when we were young and throughout the years I have come back many times. It is a great place to learn how to ski/snowboard. Even when it's really busy it doesn't take long to get on a lift. Lots of easy runs and challenging terrain as well. Staff are friendly. All around great place here!

Aaron Heinrich

Good for a family with runs for all the different skills. Never quite as busy and Sunshine and Lake Louise.

Jody Gardiner

Such friendly staff, great terrain for all abilities, and who can beat those veiws!? Truly our favorite hill ????

Josh Loewen

An amazing place and more laid back. Lineups are never bad. If you get good weather / snow while you're there it'll be the experience of a lifetime.

Diana Tan

Pretty views and great for beginners who want to improve their skills.

Susan McFarlane

Fantastic weather and snow conditions good today.

Mike Bottreau

Facilities could definitely use an upgrade. Chairlifts are often not working. My first time there this season, an avalanche supposedly wiped out their first power source. They were then using backup generators and they also ended up failing... This weekend, the Knob chair, which accesses the higher alpine terrain was closed for maintenance. They had just received 15cm of snow. I wanted to ride pow. Oh well... Had to hike up for my turns, still had a great time. The mountain offers actually really great terrain, very diverse mix of runs. High base altitude means colder weather, so the snow stays nice and fluffy. The food at the lodge is decent although overpriced, just like at any other major resorts... It would get a better rating if they were to upgrade some of their facilities, their age is showing.

Lachlan B

Fantastic resort with a wide variety of runs and some fantastic advanced areas. Also has THE most beautiful sunrises!

C R

Beautiful sized mountain. Going on a Thursday is a great way to escape lines. The chalet halfway down the mountain is a great way to kick back and relax.

Jason Martin

Had a great time, runs were well groomed, lots of new lifts, very short lines.

J Leger

I like going to Marmot Basin Alpine Ski Resort because the ski trails are varied enough to challenge all skill levels (and there are lessons available). Plenty of beginner, intermediate and expert trails. There is also a Nordic ski trail (with an ice skating rink) a few minutes drive from Jasper as well. I'd rank the Nordic trail as "easy" to "intermediate". Jasper lodging is not usually overpriced as the tourist crowd mostly goes to Banff in winter. Shop around for discount rates for room + lift ticket packages. Avid Alpine Skiers should look for the "Escape" card to get lift ticket discounts (skimarmot.com). A good family winter destination.

Ian Paddick

Amazing of course. Beautiful. Lots of ski hills and places to hike. Ski lift was expensive, $107 a day. But besides that we had an amazing time.

R&D Loh

Great place. Beautiful snow and friendly staff

Shawn Tokarz

Another great day of skiing in these beautiful mountains

Felix Falgui

My favorite place to go to for snowboarding. Little to no lines compared to the other big ski resorts. Hike to the peak is well worth it. Tres hombres and Holy Guacamole is awesome for some fresh pow.

Manu Loir-Mongazon

6 months long season of good snow, great terrain, no crowd, except on some weekends.

Lucas Valan

Great place to spend the day if it's not to busy

Anna Armstrong

There are great views from the top of the mountain and the runs are amazing. If you live on Edmonton it is great to go for a day trip or stay the night. There are many blacks and greens so they have runs for everybody.

highjedi

Escape cards are so worth it! I love this mountain. So much terrain, and friendly crowds!

braden

Pretty good ski resort for you and your friends and family. Nice chalet and friendly staff! Would recommend going in the middle of the season as sometimes they lack snow on some of the runs and some are closed (depends on the year)

Bryant Culhane

Beautiful spot.

Xavier Massart

Nice little familial resort with stunning views on the rockies

Alan Greene

My home ski hill. Try to make it here 5 to 10 times a year. Lifts handle the crowds so well and there is never a wait. The new tres hombres is fantastic New terrain.

Darren McLeod (Jegged)

Great hill with friendly staff.

SEONGYEON LIM

Wondetful resort for boarder at alberta. Its little small , but wonderful snow and ground for boarder. But you want more natural park, its not best choice, banff ski resorts are better

Slimer Busters

Love this place, been coming here since the 1980’s.

Cory Sterling

Best March snowboarding ever! Very friendly staff from Ontario!

Sung Ahn

Family friendly ski resort....runs for every level of ski, beginner to expert.

Jorge Casados Peruyero

Amazing.

Crystal Bell

The ski instruction was AWESOME. Smaller groups allowed for more personalized instruction and that made all the difference in the world to my enjoyment of the experience and all of what is to come now that i know how to handle myself on the runs.

Aaron Tuckwood

Our family loves Marmot. The kids can ski the entire mountain.

Danilo Wulsten

Nearly end of season. Last day at 6th of May. Awesome ski area and only a few people on the mountain!

hatchet 15

Marmot basin is a great mountain for all skill levels from beginners to experts there's a trail for you. The staff is friendly and professional. That being said marmot is a late season mountain so for powder seekers I would say the best time to visit is February to March. Also if you're skill looking for a wide variety of very difficult trails this mountain is somewhat lacking in that area but for a people who want to take there family out skiing for the day it is perfect. One more thing is I would recommend to bring your own food because marmots food services are very pricey.

Christina Potter

Great skiing, friendly employees! We had a blast!

Michael Sands

I had a problem with the billing. After talking to the front counter the day before, I felt misled about the pricing. She went to the back and brought a manager out front to talk to me. He understood my concerns and with good customer service looked after me to my satisfaction. The hill was amazing 11 cm and the experience with these customer service gives them a five star

Brandt Holmgren

Really nice views up top but hard to get around, and the staff were very friendly.lots of trails to swoop around on.10/10 highly recommended

Matt Moya

Marmot is a good place to shred some gnarly slopes.

Blake Ference

Can be busy at times. Well worth the wait. Great Pow Pow.

Ali Monadi

This place is a great mountain. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to get a large volume of power- averaging around 200cm/ year. It can get a little icy after its all skied out.

Ellen Coristine

Beautiful views, great skiing, friendly staff, lots of options for different skill levels, green runs to double black diamond

Emil Yim

Beautiful scenery and nice long runs. Great place for a day trip or family/friends outing. Lots of different runs so it's usually not too crowded.

Zade Bandet

Awesome mountain, fantastic view. Rocky early season in areas

Luis Méndez

Marmot basin is a beautiful place even if you're not going for skiing, all the scenery it's absolutely amazing! Totally recommended

Russ Kocuper

Nice set up for a ski hill! Just wish you could camp in the parking lot like the old days!

Jeremy Wilhelm

Favorite hill. Great balance of expert and learner run.

Kevin “Revenge2005”

Service has always been very good over the years. A good lunch pairing is the Ski Patrol Wrap with a side of chicken curry soup. Hold the fries.

Maria Berke

Marmot is breathtaking! Runs for all skill levels, accessible parking right by a run that gets you to a main lodge and chair lift. Works well for bringing your own lunch. We have escape cards which makes this an absolutely incredible experience for a decent price.

Steffen Toxopeus

This is my backyard so I'm biased. All types of terrain for all abilities. Rare to have long lift lines

Sean Watt

I am giving the Marmot resort five stars even though the power went out today(Jan4) and the day was ruined. The powder was amazing. The services were amazing( when they worked) and the people were amazing. They gave a full refund, took responsibility for things they were NOT in control over. No guarantee in life for anything, But Marmot did their best. I will be back skiing with my family and hopefully they have better luck with their power provider. Man... The powder was nuts. Why does the universe hate me?

MrSmashmonkey

Great place girl at the barbin the chalet was a bit rude and distant but other than that it was great.

Martin Holzworth

Awesome spot with steep runs and great atmosphere. Stay in Jasper.

S Lam

A good close resort that a weekend skier can get in and out of easy and enjoy themselves.

Ashlee Begoray

A great mountain for all skill levels. Never waited in line a single time at a chair lift. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because sometimes the level of run was not marked very clear, for a first timer.

Syed Ali Raza

Awesome place to ski and enjoy the views.

Iowa Reviewers

Enjoyable ski resort with runs for all ability levels. Enough room that you can find places to ski without encountering hordes of people.

Anton Geppert

This place is a joke. Charging $110 per day. Getting tickets was impossible as the printer wasn’t working... (seriously?) It’s dec 31st and you guys have printer issues? Marmot charges like a big resort but cannot offer big resort staff nor technology. I will spend my money in better places from now on.

J Nicholson

Just got a huge dump of snow, not busy, great runs, everyone is super happy. Additional review - the beef dip up in the Eagle Lounge was FANTASTIC....beef, sauteed onions, red and green peppers, melted cheese all on a pretzel bun and a good au jus. The side salad had a lot of fresh ingredients and was quite large, so overall value was really good.

Agent Hanson

Favorite destination for snowboarding. Good long runs with plenty of variety

Jason Renaud

Such a great place to ski for all abilities. Plenty of easy ways down the mountain from all chairlifts.

Werner Rabe

First time skiing and it was awesome! Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you so much for the epic ski lesson Brent.

Bond James

Awesome snow! Enjoyed it.

Sean Regaudie

Better than sunshine

Totally Waffle

Nice ski hill for skiing, bathrooms arent kept very clean and are extremely dark. Food and drink are pricey. Staff are friendly and are willing to help new people aswell as offer training and learning sessions. Parking is gong show it is absolute chaos with such a small parking lot.

Ken Wenger

Marmot is always a good time ????????

Beserker 2000

Always have a great time on the mountain and in town. dont see how people are complaining about the expense. It is no more than most places to its equivalent. News flash- all food at any ski resorts/area is going to be pricey...pack a lunch a ski then and stay out of the lounge. Enjoy!

Taran Rao

Amazing Ski Resort. One of the best ski resorts for kids as well as adults. Perfect for the family. I highly recommend this place. ????????????????????????????????

Jes Scott

The best views and fun skiing.

JM Talavera

My very first time in Marmot and it was awesome! If only we could've stayed longer, we would! I'd say perfect weather would be around the -10c to -15c and no wind, we'll be shredding the whole day. We only went on the Schoolhouse side because we are still beginners but mountain parks are waaay more fun than the ones in the city. I loved Marmot and will try to return again for another run this year!

Chris

A great family resort. The conditions were amazing with mild temperatures and a solid base to cover 99% of the rocks. A nice array of runs from green to double black, could use a few more of the latter, but I'm not complaining. One thing that does need a bit of work is their lift lines though. How hard is it to merge four lines into two into one, with a singles line on the inside. it was a complete gong show at the Eagle Ridge Chair. Four lines plus numerous unmarked single lines all meet in the middle and fend for yourself. I have never experienced such chaos. Similar experience at Paradise & just one long line at Knob. Should be an easy fix.

Liam Bedford

The ski runs were fun, nice staff in the chalet. Nice weather.

Paula Downes

Good ski hill for beginners. You can purchase a lift pass that will be good just for the school house lift and magic carpet - perfect for anyone starting off that wants to build confidence before buying a full lift pass. Reasonable rental prices and good quality gear. Private lessons are expensive as one would expect - but the instructors are good and it's worthwhile! Only minor complaint is that there are no gondolas and the chair lifts don't have covers so it can be extremely cold getting up the mountain.

Keith Wall

I've been skiing here since I was a kid. It's fun hill with an amazing view!

Maria Hyrak

Simply the best. Awesome staff, amazing runs, excellent experience all-around for all levels.

C.J. Omoth

Wow we had a blast this week at Marmot... You'll be glad you did if you make it out there.

Tylar Wall

Great ski destination. Quick lift. Awesome staff. Great place overall

Brass sprocket

Great place to go ski

Aaron Tsui

I go here every year and it's always fantastic! It's a comfortable level for everyone and the view is good!

Fantasy Jay III

Amazing hills, I mean mountains, to ride. Doesn't take long to get up the hill, the chairlifts are fast.

Raphael Hassell

steep and deep.. try El Diablo, or Charlies bowl if you know what you are doing.. longest quad no lines.. good eats, easy going family atmosphere

Mike Macmillan

Got the escape card and it made everything that much cheaper

Stephen Fletcher

My first time to the basin was a beauty spring day, so sunny I burned! Staff were very friendly and professional. Very fun.

Tyson Sommerville

Went there on December 28th 2020. (For those in the future this is during the Covid pandemic). Lines were brutal long because of social distancing. Parking lot was full so I had to park on the shoulder. BUT there were smiling staff helping at every step. When I went to park there were people directing traffic explaining the lots were full so I didnt wast time doing laps. While in line to buy passes there were people walking up and down the lines answering questions (I have a fear of waiting an hour in the wrong line so this was very very good). Every ticket window was open and selling. Once actually on the hill the lines were long but moved fast and employees were actively enforcing the mask rules (lots of pointing and polite "hey, mask on please"). Runs were good, people running the lifts were polite and professional. Glad I bought the escape card, I'm going again next chance I can.

Leah Klingbeil

Love skiing at Marmot. Beautiful views, plenty of variety in runs, nice chalets. It's our go-to ski hill.

Brad H

Great place to go snowboarding/skiing, I loved the open meadows and spread out terrain. Staff were awesome and accommodating, food was 7/10.

Garrett McElderry

Great skiing for so early in the year

Emma Butler

Nice slopes for an average snowboarder like myself! Also typically not as busy as other hills.

Derek Pickell

I reserved a snowboard online for rental, and when I showed up to collect it from the shop in the morning, there was no line, the staff were expecting me, had my board waiting, and the whole process was very efficient and fast. The staff were friendly and attentive. The board itself was pretty banged up, and had obviously not been tuned or serviced for a long time, but it worked fine, and the poor condition of the base didn’t seem to affect the performance. All in all a great experience and great day in the hill.

Mike Wheeler

Amazing hill, but overly difficult to get onto. If you purchase a ticket online or through the Banff Sunshine Supercard, as the sales pitch states you can skip the ticket booth and go straight to the chairlift. That is definitely not the case. There is No point in buying anything online. You still need to go to the ticket booth and it is an agonizing 45 minute wait even at 11:30 AM. There is a significant lack of thought put towards the customer experience getting onto this hill. No signage, no obvious instructions, just parking attendants firm on insisting you don’t park where there is no indication that parking at the ticket booth is discouraged. I purchased the Banff Sunshine Supercard but it is very misleading as it does not indicate that you’re buying a ticket to Marmot as well. It’s very confusing. I can’t imagine how an international tourist would navigate this never mind someone who is familiar with the ski hills in our region. I think the staff are aware of the pinch points because they have multiple Marmot basin staff who are acting as greeters to the people in the long lineup for the ticket booth. I’ve explained my grievance to them but it’s very frustrating to buy a ticket online and then still have to wait in line to purchase another ticket. Why aren’t those guys standing behind another ticket booth?

Jules

Such a beautiful and great place to skin and snowboard. Marmot is definitely my go to.

Taylor L

The new Tres Hombres is awesome. The hill has a great mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert runs.

Bare-E Raws

A decent mountain with some pretty fun runs although they seem shorter in comparison to other mountains I have been to. Terrain park was alright but nothing spectacular and to find the park was difficult due to some race course that seemed to always block your path to it no matter what run you went down. Food is pretty pricey which is standard for ski hills. To buy a hot dog with fries and an iced tea along with a burger and fries with a water bottle it ended up being a little over 32 dollars.

Billy Bear

I used the hill for 4 years,Was fun.But they don't seem to care about the locals that live here who used the bus service. Now there's no bus for locals. Many people I know from town don't us the hill any more due to your lack effort to still please the locals who help support Marmot Basin over the years. NEXT

Derek Hulewicz

My favourite place to snowboard. Great slopes and service.

Kalob Taulien

Amazing. Did a day trip from Edmonton and it was well worth the drive!

Ryan Granberg

In previous years I would of given them 4 stars, as my complaint was how bad the food on the hill was. It seems like they are turning that around with addition of a new restaurant with decent food. Overall it's a great ski hill especially if you are not found of the crowds found in Banff.

Travis Hicks

Great hill with a fun stuff. Haven't had a bad time yet

Caralee Parr

Fantastic place to ski with the entire family, and in one of the world's most beautiful places!

Vernon Brady

What an awesome place to come to with students and family. Prices at consession are a little high but not outrageous. Only real issue is the lack of wifi in the resort. Definitely something that should have been addressed a while ago.

Aidan Roberts

It's my favourite ski resort in Canada right now

Aaron Beaupre

Great hill to take your family. Never any line ups and lots of great runs for all skill sets.

Dan Shanks (GamerParentDan)

Skiing with the family. My kids first time at a mountain. Great facility and the weather was amazing.

Dom Tinney

Took a 3 hour private lesson, had an immense time with a fantastic instructor! All the staff you came across were chatty and friendly. Can't wait to get back ????

Kim Mills

Awesome skiing. So close to Jasper. Wonderful people and a beautiful facility. We went with a group of 15, all abilities. The lessons and instructors were fantastic. They even offered to stay with the students longer if needed. We unfortunately had one crash that we needed the ski patrol to help with. Spencer and his team were fantastic with the injury. Even with the twisted knee, there were some great memories made. We will be back ❤️

Mary Sun

Fun day despite minimal snow. Lines at the lifts generally weren't very long. Have been here twice now and still haven't explored the entire mountain yet. I really wish I timed my visits better with the snowfall!

Alana Todd

Marmot has many tree runs which I love! At the top of the mountain there are easy runs and more difficult ones. Many beginner skiers and snowboarders can go to the top of the mountain to enjoy the great view. When Marmot has a dump of snow it is the absolute BEST!

Margit Knupp

Great experience getting Tres Hombres off the bucket list! Thank you, Quinn! Beautiful couple of days on the mountain

jessica koch

Absolutely love coming to this mountain resort!!!! I've had different conditions each time when it comes to the snow but this place is well worth the 5hr drive from Calgary!!! The drive up is spectacular!!! Once you get uptop the mountain you have unbelievable views for miles. We did the joke up to the top one of the peaks and had unreal views down the back side!!!! I love this place, so much terrain and options! Definitely recommend a weekend here for sure!!!

Robert Durant

I love the mountain, but lift lines and ticket lines were very busy.

Wolf Jackson

Very nice resort. Many runs to choose from and great parking!

Vince Callas

Nice mix of runs. Parking is very convenient located up on the side of the hill. This allows you to ski in and ski out from the parking lot. Is also convenient if you want to bring your own lunch. Lift lines move quickly though you need to keep moving as there is not really a set line but people just funnel in.

Jason Hill

Such beautiful conditions! Decent snow still for late in the season. The runs are a bit shorter than sunshine or Louise. But lots of choice. Had a blast!!

Paii Chaaum

Excellent resort with reasonable price lift ticket. The view from the top of the mountain was very impressive.

Edward Pratt

Nice ski area with runs for all levels of skier.

Hristina GR

You guys have the nicest staff! ????

Joshua Takken

Cool place nice runs

Johnson Luong

Posting as of March 2020. Lifts are alot more busy these days but Marmot always holds it down. The staff are always high energy here and it's always a good time.

Sijerion

I just love this place)

Jago Powell

I had a great time. Weather was perfect. Drinks were wet. Snow bunnies were hopping.

Dawson Kaefer

Not a huge resort and they usually don't have fantastic amounts of snow (ice and rocks poking out are not uncommon) but it tends to be a quieter place with less people on the hill and in the lift lines. Nevertheless it's always a fun place to ride with a fresh dump of snow.

Dave Mercer

Good hill. Expensive as hell to ski for a day though. Nothing like the good old days.

Elizabeth Sim

Marmot Basin has something for all skiers and boarders. The lifts are fast and the staff are always helpful! They have delicious food and it's always fun to grab a beer at the mid-mountain chalet. The lessons are high quality because the instructors are very knowledgeable. Overall, I am always impressed by Marmot and recommend travelling here for a great ski experience!

Katie Campbell

Its amazing!!!! Great place to challenge yourself and teach your kids. Hands down best ski resort

Craig Vaughan

Lots of new snow the last couple of days. Not to busy during the week. Top was closed due to high winds but lower half was in good shape already!

Hard Runnin

Great resort, staff are best in industry. Super fun ski hill

Patrick Hughson

We always have a blast at Marmot Basin! One of our favourite places to snowboard and it has one of the best layouts! They also do a free trip within 3 days of your birthday which is really cool! :)

Hayden Berard

Had an awesome time. The biggest mountain I've been to.

Mike Kinsella

Love this mountain! Lots of good ski terrain, all the new lifts keep the waits short. Good food and beer. Firepit at the upper chalet is always good on a nice day.

Chris Meyer

Make sure you visit eagles east!

Carter

This was my third time skiing, and I feel like this was what made me like skiing!

Cali Muileboom

Very beautiful, great hills. The bar staff was also very friendly with good memories.

Miciåh D

One of my favorite snowboarding mountains

Mark Rozmarnowich

It's like my home away from home

Mark Babbage

Fantastic hill, lots of varying terrain, and ya gotta love Eagles East on a POW day. Retail store is great with very helpful staff.

Carson Loves Theatre

The snow was very fresh and the runs were very fun! I highly recommend taking a trip to Marmot.

Austin Hoffmann

Amazing ski resort to come to especially to escape the city for a weekend. Views from summit are breathtaking and tres hombres and many of the other more advanced areas are in great condition with loads of snow. Lines were definitely a bit longer but wasn’t to bad overall. Would recommend.

Placido Iozzo

Marmot used to be the place to go to when not interested in dealing with big resort crowds and attitudes. MB has been moving that way since SS got involved, slowly removing that small ski resort feel. At least the 50/50 Epic (no Direct-to-lift) card brings the price of a ticket back down to earth to reflect the terrain available. It would be nice if there was overnight parking, especially since there was non (Wapiti closed) near Jasper.

Walaid Zahra

Great skiing! The ski out is the best.

Joaquin Alonso

Awesome slopes and fun people!!!

Nick Pierno

Lift lines are almost always minimal. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Facilities aren't outstanding, but perfectly acceptable. Generally good conditions all season long. Get the Escape card!

Jiří Nečesaný

Good served ski resort in amazing nature

Richard Rothery

Gem of a ski resort. One of the few mountain resorts where beginners skiers/riders can enjoy green (easiest) runs from high on the mountain to the bottom. Very family-friendly. Marmot also has gnarly terrain for expert skiers. Another great feature is the ski-in, ski-out parking. It is great resort to enjoy a lunchtime parking lot picnic in the spring sunshine. There are also good on-hill eating/bar options. The resort has excellent groomers, glades, etc., and awesome hiking-accessible runs (double blacks) for adrenalin junkies. Its lift system is outstanding - lineups are rare.

Josh

My first time today. Two things impressed me the most: how well-kept the property is, and staff friendliness. What an absolute darling of a ski area. We will be back. Thanks Marmot!

Chuck Horne

Early December skiing and the slopes were in fantastic shape. It was exceptionally busy, comparable to life before covid but they kept everything moving quickly. The new RFID lift passes work excellent. Do yourself a favor and pay for tickets online and before you go to avoid the lines.

William Shannon (Sweltsor)

Go during the weekdays. No line ups, it's pretty great

Tom Pierce

Rocky mountain express is two chairs in one

Lauren Hannah

Fun place for a day or skiing. Good for all levels.

frank vanS

My favorite skin resort. Parking on the hill, mid mountain dining, rarely crowded.

Taylor Froese

I'm here to edit my review. Skiing has grown on me due to this place. My family loves it here and I would come again. The staff is great and the facility is beautiful. I guess I will admit that I had fun.

John Amadi

Amazing view. Great hills. Snowboarding and skiing grea for beginners and great for adrenaline junkies. You get your money's worth.

Cody Smith

i love coming here!! one of the best mountains i have boarded on and its great! they keep really good care of the runs and try to open every run as soon as there is enough snow on the hill. the staff are great and i think the prices are reasonable

Robin Allison

Great time at Marmot this weekend. Can't wait to get back!

Erika schmidt

This ski hill is the best. The community is great and everybody is so welcoming

D Barg

My number one ski resort in Canada. Make sure you take advantage of the escape card if you ski more than twice a year here. So many different trails. Highly recommended!!!

Jaxon

Just went here yesterday, I had a great time.

Breanna Birch

Somewhat crowded but that's to be expected on a weekend, my recommendation would be going on a weekday. Taking a day off work/school.

Cindy Husselman

A lovely ski hill. Ski from your parked car down to the centre, and back to your car from the slopes. It has a variety of slopes to cater for all levels of skiing experience. The canteen has a good selection of food and enough tables for seating.

Javy Demera

attach 1 or 2 plastic boards on feet Go down fluffly ice water. Fall down and break everything. Good fun. Go now.

Vojislav Keselj

Love it love it love it. Every season I visit Marmot Basin 4-6 times . If you taking classes staff bery nice and professional and my kid had lot of fun learning how to ski on ski classes

bennett weik

Good stuff not too busy

Dustin Chipchura

Favourite ski hill! There is terrain for everyone no matter if I am skiing with family or friends. Rarely a line up at the lift so you get your money worth in runs.

Chieko A

Because of the extreme cold weather, everyone had to keep themselves warm in the lounge. There were many people, but the staff are doing such a great job to ensure all covid protocols were followed. There are many great runs. Our ski levels are completely different, but we all enjoyed skiing all day long.

Alex McColl

Not worth the drive from Calgary. Kicking Horse and Revelstoke are better.

Midnite W.

great snow resort for all levels of skier and boarders.

David Edwards

First time skiing. Was awesome. Ski prices were good value

Michael McDermott

A great skiing experience in the Rockies. No lift lines, good snow and enough terrain to keep you busy for the day.

Kyle Flemming

Best Ski Resort in Alberta

Abteen Sanaee

Excellent view, bit of a drive to get up. Travel according to road conditions!

Tristyn Browning

It is always a pleasure to ride here! Small lineups, tonnes of runs for all levels.

Nichola Elise Servante

Always a joy to ski here. Friendly and approachable staff.

Andre Pedak

It’s a small resort, but you find everything you need for a great day in the snow. The snowschool is up to date and you get great lesson with awesome instructor. I loved to ski with Paul and Jess!

Chris Lewis

Amazing powder, people need to only go in proper vehicles, big pile up in the morning.

Laura Morris

Fantastic. As an east coast (Quebec) skier this was an absolute treat. Unspoiled. Great conditions.

Lloyd Steeves

Staff is awesome. Keeping the peace in a fun and respectable manner.

Avi Nesher

Amazing place you have to go the view at the top of the mountain is amazing so much better then hiking.

Owen Avila Ramirez

Great place to snowboard, and prices not bad.

Ryan Saulou

It's a ski resort. You like them or not. Weather makes/breaks the experience! ????

Damon Eckart

This is such a great Mountain Resort located just outside of Jasper this makes it convenient for great day on the hill and then a great night with lots of restaurants and bars. Jasper has only a skiing snowboarding needs 10 out of 10 would recommend this place hope you all enjoy it as much as me and my friends do. The Mountain House Bar and plenty of food for kids and adults. They have rentals and they also have a store for two gloves and other small accessories. The mountain is a good mix of beginner and also advanced runs.

Arik Girard

Always a great experience, the main lift was down in the morning but the staff worked hard to get it running as soon as possible. We had a good 2 feet of fresh powder in the morning.

Matt Schmitt

Beautiful place to learn. Derek did a great job teaching me for my first time on a snowboard.

Benjamin Widish

Marmot Basin is one of my favourite mountains of all time! As a Calgarian, I can't come out here often, but when I do, it's quite a treat. They have three high speed Detachable chairlifts (Canadian Rockies Xpres, Eagle Xpres, and Paradise), 1 Quad (Eagle), 1 Triple (Schoolhouse) and 1 double (Knob). While the hill doesn't have that much vertical, it does have the highest base elevation in Canada, and that's quite something! Marmot Basin has a good variety of runs, and since it is so high up, lots of powder. The hill does get quite cold often, so dress warm, and be prepared. Definitely come here, it's an amazing place!

David Brown

Just keep having great ski adventures at Marmot with our family and friends! Our 3rd visit this year and again the conditions and weather were perfect! Jasper in January had some great festivities in town that evening as well!

Lyle Rooks

Great place to take the kids when just learning to ski.

Chris Rockwell

Had lots of fun here, lots of powder. Very few flat spots - a god send for boarders. Its a bit far from Calgary for a day but a good weekend trip!

Sheena Oman

Great ski hill, even better staff!

Dory Wood

With the addition of the new lift lines, wait times are really no more than 7-10 minutes to reach the chair. Even on a busy weekend we have never felt crowded on the hill. I would recommend bringing some of your own snacks as food is a little pricey in the chalet. We had the pleasure of being the first to enjoy the new fire pit installed at the upper chalet! Great heat is thrown off this new pit. Perfect for an outdoor drink!

Suzanne Lewis

Lots of runs and many lifts. Chalet has good food, but there is also a microwave if you bring your own lunch. Parking lot is ski out, so lots of people do tailgate parties for lunch. There is a variety of runs, so boarders get powder bowls and skiers groomed runs/moguls, beginers have whole front of mountain, and a skills park for the brave.

Hovant

The distribution of run skill levels at this resort seems to best suit both beginners and experts, but not intermediates, paradoxically enough. I'd like to see more blue runs and single black diamonds. They seem to groom their less than Lake Louise, which I prefer and am thankful for. Shorter lines than Lake Louise, but also much shorter runs. I gotta be honest, I hate the green that everything drains into. It's boring at you're dodging beginners constantly.

Vitalii Maimescul

Nice ski/snowboard resort. They have a good learning hill and a variety of other trails ranging from green to double black diamonds. And of course the views ftom the top are stunning.

Matt Jenkins

It's great you should come.

Lukas

The snow and the trails were good, we went there in second week of January. One of the best things is without doubt how to get from the parking lot to the ticket center, as it is directly connected to a trail. Prices could be better, but in off-season fair and not overrun.

Connor “Knorr” O'Flynn

Not super busy but kinda rocky even in January

Paul Lewis

Had a lovely New Years weekend on the resort! Snowboarding conditions were amazing this year

Anthony Lud

Lake Louise or Sunshine is 10 times better and same distance. All cafeteria service is poor and not open as well lines are unpredictable for wind. Safer bet is definitely Banff area.

Dallas

Parking part way up the hill is the best. Never waited in any tow lines. Friendly staff. Excellent hill to learn on.

Tom Baxter

The most fantastic Ski area I have ever been to.

Braden Risby

Great day skiing but only 4 stars because we saw ZERO MARMOTS, should change the name to No Marmots here at the basin. Other than that everything was great, would still like to see a marmot tho

Christine Peck

Beautiful day! Lift lines moved quickly. Snow conditions good.

Josh Moody

We had an excellent time, staff were very helpful. Had lunch Mid mountain very organized

Caleb Rustulka

Great time skiing! Rental and lift lines moved really quickly and there’s great variety for riders of different skill levels! A little pricier than other places but the views definitely make up for it

Michael J Hamm

Had a great day!

Anson George

Very fun place to go skiing

Graysen Walker

Go to destination for mountain trips. This place has a little of everything, and they just opened a second terrain park. Doesn't usually have any powder stashes unless you plan to hike but for tree runs its one of the best.

Derek Fournier

Hill conditions today were amazing. Always a good time on marmot.

Peter N

Amazing ski area in a spectacular setting. Good runs for all abilities.

John Czerniak

Great ski hill!

Jason D

Spectacular scenery. Enough lift access and terrain to handle a lot of skiers. Would be amazing on a snow day.

C Yi

Amazing hills. Great staff and the snow conditions are great. Food at the lounge and cafeteria were great. Have a good variety of slopes and no lines up. The views in the chalet were amazing.

Ariel G

Great quiet place, nice room, big bath. Nice public hot tub indoor and outdoor and indoor swimming pool. Friendly staff, would recommend.

Julian Lam

First time here, loved the experience and loved the ski hill, lots of variety of runs, many runs were wide, tons of space, tree runs with different levels of difficulty, lots of options for food, and most importantly the parking lot design is amazing, ski out from the parking lot and ski back directly to the parking lot! Loved it!

Kaitlin Langley

We did the snow shoe tour with Lydia and she was AWESOME!

Diego Meneses

I say this to those who ask me why I go to this place so often: I don't personally believe in an afterlife but if there a heaven, this is it. Came here 10 times for the 2018/2019 season and not once did I regret my stay There's some absolutely stunning views to enjoy while snowboarding/skying/relaxing in the lounge. Pro tip: Try the Bison burger with added Bacon and mushrooms, and a beer of your choosing, simply amazing.

Kris Laing

Best hill in Canada in my opinion and I've been to most. So much varied terrain, long runs, drops , pow, park, and the chairs are really good so even when it's "crowded" they u up pretty quick.I lived in Whistler for 7 seasons and I'de take this place over that Disneyland circus any day

Kim Cheung

Is ok just alittle small . You must know how ro ski or snowboard. It's difficult to walk down from parkinglot. And backup

daniel hicks

Changing the opening date last min you should of been more sure now i have a hotel room this weekend and no hill thanks for nothing

Tyler Tong

Snowboard right to the parking lot. Very convenient. Have lunch at the car instead of a crowded overpriced cafeteria. People have tailgate BBQs here all the time. Not a lot of bowls that you have to climb out of like Sunshine.

Sylvia Seitz

Great ski area!!

B Haze

great hill, lots of lift capacity, jasper is charming. Eat the std fare and avoid Eagle ridge ( table service) restaurant.... waited forever......disinterested staff.

Malay Patel

Great place for all skier. Lots of runs and we'll maintained.

Berke “Berkely”

Late season skiing was great! Lots of snow and basically no closed runs!

Frank Simpson

Spring skiing is always fun, staff was on it for cleaning after someone left their spot in the chalet. Sadly there isn't much space in the lower chalet.

Elizabeth Campbell

There was an excellent variety of trails at different ability levels. We are a senior couple, both good skiers and the pretty even split among beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert trails is one thing that made us choose to go to Marmot Basin. Lift lines were short or non-existent. The views from thr top of many runs is spectacular. The complimentary tour of the mountain given by Ruth is well worthwhile. The only problem we encountered was signage. It isn't that difficult to move around the marked skiable area but 2 things would make things even easier. The first is a large map of all the ski trails at the top of Knob and Eagle Ridge chairs, as exists at the top of other chairs. The second is more signs at trail splits so that you always know what trail you are on. We had 4 great days of skiing at Marmot Basin.

Jay C

beautiful view and helpful staff!

Scott Pequegnat

No longer offering a shuttle from downtown Japser to Marmot Basin anymore, not catering to those without vehicles. Given the chaos surrounding parking and hitting capacity on multiple weekends during the 2020/2021 season, this is very frustrating.

A Turner

Had a great couple trips this year, phenomenal spring ski season. Helpful friendly staff esspecially in group bookings, thanks!

TJCB

We have 2 little girls and while the skiing is great, I want to comment on the ski school for little kids. Both my 7 year and 5 year old had a great time at ski school. The instructors were amazing and it allowed us (the parents) to spend the day on the mountain without having to worry about chasing after little ones. At the end of the day, they both said that they loved it! So, if you have little kids and either want to spend the day skiing or if you want your kids to have a great time which also includes ski lessons and lunch, then this is the way to go.

P M

Great place to get away for some great mountain skiing.

Ian Lloyd

Very well layed out mountain! Some of the best snowboarding!

Quinton Breitmeier

Great hill lots of snow. Quick lifts

Flora Chan

Always a fun place to go to start the season. Have been really lucky to have fresh powder the last couple of trips with very little ice. Runs are wide, uncrowded, and most important of all for a snowboarder, no flat spots! Food on the hill is ok but not a lot of healthy options. Marmot may not be the biggest hill with the most challenging runs (looking at you Kicking Horse) but it's a great place to go for some relaxing runs.

Tanner Piche

Marmot is a good place for beginners as well as those looking for more advanced runs. Jasper in January makes it cheaper to go as well.

Tyler Duggan

Great powder and amazing lift staff!

hartt78

Dec.12, 2021 - Great day all around. The lady at customer service desk was amazing and super helpful, the guy from Hinton, in the rental shop checking people in was friendly and patient. Conditions were great and I love the new RFID system to get on the lifts, really speeds things up. Well done.

Randy MacDonald

Been skiing on " the hill " for 40 + yrs. Always good conditions, well groomed slopes & something for all ages. I won't tell you WHEN the best skiing is tho... have to have a few secrets!???????? oh yeah... do kiffers dream????????

Karen Alv

Awesome when there is good snow. Great views and easy to follow maps.

Crystal Breakenridge

Great hill. Well cared for. Prices were too high in the concession.

Jason St.Amant

Excellent day on the hill. Had the kids in lessons and the instructors were top notch. The youngest child was in the nursery and they were very well organized and had a blast under their care. Been to the hill many times and it has always been a great experience!

J M

I went on a very cold day so the lifts were a little chilly. Nice that the chalet has open cubbies for storage and reasonable food. Not study or ostentatious. One of the employees Shawn stopped to help a young girl in our party and gave an impromptu lesson. Very kind and helpful. Thanks Shawn!! You’re the best.

Jas Lidder

My wife had left behind her $300.00 ski goggles, we called them about an hour after losing them. Within an hour they called back, finding the goggles and shipped them out to us. Very honest team, whomever helped us, thank you!

Kieran Westergard

Always a good time boarding here. Never long lift lines, great variety of terrain for all skill levels and decent food....friendly staff.

karl hartmann

Well maintained slopes for beginners and intermediates. Beautiful views.

Tony Fast

Beatiful resort... nice layout and chalets... too bad the snow conditions did not co-operate when we were there... bad snow year for the area

Kim Jackson

We had a blast, very scenic hill, I'll be back.

Craig Binch

This is a nice family ski hill. Amazing views, good variety of terrain, and nice lodges. The staff were all very friendly and it made for a great day out.

Melat Yemane

What a view

Colby Hunt

Had a blast. Freshly waxed board on a mountain means extreme speed. Tore my shoulder ligaments.. be safe peeps

Andrew Johnson

No crowds, powder day.

Ricardo Desequeira

Incredible ski hill. Runs are well maintained, and groomed in the mornings. Even on a long weekend when all the parking was full, there was never a wait at the lifts, and the hills werent busy.

Heather Levy

A wonderful ski resort! The family has been coming here for decades and will continue to come here for ski trips.

Johnny Reynolds

Great spot for all skill levels. Only had to wait for a chair lift longer than 2 minutes once and that was on a Saturday morning, which was considered their "busiest time". Their food wasn't too special, so if you're wanting to save a couple dollars - bring your own.

Kyle O'Brien

First time here in the Caribou Bar. Drinks are little more expensive, but that’s to be expected. DO NOT get the nachos. $20 for three tortillas with cheese and romaine lettuce. I get things being more expensive up here, but definitely not worth the money. Also, the “in-house made salsa” was dry and was as unpleasant as the nachos.

Aiden Witt

Our first time skiing was very frustrating at first but with perseverance it was a lot of fun. We had a lesson and our instructor was fantastic! It took me a few runs to finally get the hang of it, but it was so much fun once you do. The food was reasonably priced and quite tasty as well.

Kevin Schultz

Loved it here! Best parking lot system in the business. Amazing views on a bluebird day

Y Lu

Great ski resort for all levels. I was not able to reach all the trails at this early season. However, not as good as Lake Louis I would say.

byron gero

Good snow . great weather best day of ⛷ skiing in year's

Emma Stanford

Great mountain, injured my ribs recently at Marmot and got great care from Spencer. 10/10

Brenda “CDNMOM2BOYS”

Great spring skiing and I love that the runs all funnel to the chalet so I can keep track of my teens.

Chris Y

Great to visit mid week

Dave Patrsyk

My favorite place to go skiing in Alberta. The staff are friendly, can't beat the view.

Brady olsen

Great ski resort. If you are ever near Jasper in winter, it is worth spending a day on the slopes. Often we find it less crowded than some of the other resorts. Also very worth coming during the Jasper in January festival when there are all kinds of activities going on.

na na

Good ski resort for everyone. Although it is on the small side compared to other resorts in the area. Good groomers and tree runs. Parking area is small so better come early. Food is expensive like most ski resorts ($16 for a burger and a beer). They give you free smores at one of the restaurants.

Luciano Monteiro

Great place

Hun Sern Tan

Great place to snowboard and the view by itself is worth going up the mountains for

B Scott

Beautiful, lots of runs, decent snow pack this year. Going during the week didn't seem busy. Great restaurants with easy access.

james berg

Me and my family had to extend our stay by 1 day because parking lot was full by 8am. They dont take reservations for parking or do they limit the tickets sold so the day we planned to go was a no go. We went the following day and had a blast.

Leslie Parker

A good variety of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs. This hill tends to be quieter than Sunshine or Louise, which is nice. That and the Escape Card for 50% off a day pass make this a great choice for a ski weekend. Not as much night life in Jasper as there is in Banff, but it's perfect for families for this reason.

Kyle Melnyk

Great family time skiing at Marmot

K M

Decent amount of terrain and not too busy despite peak season! A little over priced given the amenities, but beautiful views

Sheldon Ruchkall

Awesome Snow conditions today and no waiting in the lift lines.

Brian Yakowishyn

This is the best family ski resort, with great amenities and instruction staff. Highly recommend!

Jaxon Adams

I had a wonderful day skiing

Charles Hallett

Great day of skiing.

Jacob Ohe

Great family ski hill

David Bailey

Great hill. Very affordable if you buy a $70 Escape Card ($45/day for an adult!), great runs, and never busy.

Samuel Coultas

Awesome mountain! For best results, go midweek

Brandon Labelle

Such an awesome ski resort! Great runs for every skill level! The ski chalet poutine is amazing!! Of course everything on the hill is overpriced, but that as to be expected.

Markus Fisher

Beautiful day. No lines. Awesome skiing

Geurt Eek

Great place to ski, easy access, no waiting times for ski lifts. Plenty of parking beside the piste and ski down to the lift and ticket center.

Doug Nichols

Great conditions. Great food in the lounge. Great vodka cran.

Sandra Williams

Conditions were good for the last 8 days , staff super accommodating ????

Vaughn Lasell

Great resort for beginner to expert.

Alex Pegg

Awesome, no lift queue and excellent slopes

Arie Moldvan

One of my favorite ski resorts. While not as big as Louise or Revelstoke, it has excellent quality snow and some great terrain. The new run Tres Hombres is very good. It's never too busy and it's nice and close to home.

Linley

There's 4 quad chairs and 2 chair lifts that take you to different points of the mountains. You can probably go down just the novice (green runs) from the top of the mountain. The terrain is 30% novice (green) runs, 30% intermediate (blue) runs, 20% advanced (black diamond) runs, 20% expert (double black diamond) runs. Due to ongoing health measures, the only chalet on the mountain open for dine in is the Caribou Chalet. They have physical distance markings on the ground and cards on dining tables that you flip over when you've used a table so cleaning staff know to clean them. There's 4 large parking lots (P1-P4) up the side of the mountains where you can park, ski/snowboard down to the main lodge where you can buy lift tickets. The parking by the main lodge is for staff and drop offs only.

jd schatzberg

Fun mountain. Lots of hidden gems. The tres hombres addition is pretty sweet. Just needs a bit more snow

jeff komishke

Absolutely brutal and embarrassing customer service. Guest services took advantage of two kids that I took skiing and have been going to great lengths to NOT help them. I personally gave them their money back and three days later I am still waiting for a resolution. After speaking with coworkers this is not uncommon.

James Attfield

Great hill. Lots of variety in the terrain and runs. Definitely something for everybody. Appreciate how much horizontal space some of the runs have. Snow is great quality. Only qualm is the bottleneck/cluster that occurs where the two lifts are side by side.

Kris Lynchuk

What a great hill! Lots of routes for different levels of snow junkie.

gregory dirks

Amazing mountain if it gets the snow it says it will, was going for to be a 14 cm dump but it only got 2 cm the day i went :/

Trevor Grover

Great hill. Good runs for every skill level. Come on a weekday and it's not busy.

Connie Carter

It was very nice, but the snow was packed down hard.

Tamara Cluff

Snow was pretty awesome! Weather amazing. Singles line needs to be stopped. The reason for a singles line is to fill up a chair. We can’t do that because of Covid, but a bunch of kids go into the singles line just to get front of line access. There should be line for all, alternating. A chair is now a chair whether there is one person or 4.

T R

Looking at the piste map gives you an impression that this is a small resort however after skiing here for five days there was still more terrain to explore. With the open top of the mountain there is a lot of off piste skiing to get into and combined with tres hombres and eagle east this is will provide a challenge to the majority of skiers. From nearly every point the is an easy option down if needed, making it an excellent resort for all levels.

Joseph Gschossmann

Great snow, friendly staff. Fun mountain awesome views!

Ashleigh Hopkinson

Been going here for 10 years. Marmot is my favorite place to day trip to.

Daniel Rose

Amazing! Never have to wait for chair lifts, great snow, and jaspers gorgeous.

Chad Bowen

Doing an amazing job managing all health and safety protocols, even on the busiest days!!

Mark Cheng

Large flat sections are traps for boarders who don't maintain speed. Plenty of green runs for beginners. No gondola.

Kieran Hayde

First time skiing and this was the perfect place to learn. Living in Jasper I got an Escape Card so lift tickets were only $55 a pop. There are plenty of green runs for beginners and I skied from top to bottom on day one which was a great feeling. There’s no apres ski and everything shuts at 4:30 and you have to go home.

Ryan Ellinger

Love marmot. Family weekend trips from Edmonton or solo day trips are possible. Hill and amenities ae fantastic!

warren penner

Excellent skiing

Matthis Henrichs

Great skiing, one of my favs. The food is a little pricey, so I'd bring at least $15 if you plan to eat there. Lots of powder and everything is in great condition.

Kyle Huggard

Great place to ski and snowboard within 4 hours of Edmonton, newer high speed quad to take you all the way from the bottom of the hill to the top means that you will be getting a bunch of good runs in.

Ani Kaltcheva

Great mountain. I recommend better ski run signage and labeling ( marking) the different runs. It was confusing where the different level end and merge.

Nils Skalin

Such a great place to ski! Apart from today and the dislocated shoulder, this mountain is a paradise for all levels of skiing abilities. Even on a busy day it always feels like you can find a little slice of paradise on a run with no one else around.

Chad Croucher

One of my favorite mountains to snowboard. They do a great job of grooming their runs!!!

Jamie Hicken

What an amazing day! Beautiful conditions, friendly staff, and all the amenities! This is a must see destination!!

Michael P.

I've been coming here for 25 years. Very family friendly resort with great snow and helpful staff. I highly recommend.

jody dyrland

I always enjoy bringing my daughter here. They are being very cautious and following all the covid laws.

Jeff Westphal

Fun hill kids really enjoy it here and the mountain is in good shape!

Joel Nydam

Lots of skiable runs and accessible from Edmonton. We usually get up early morning to make first tracks with a stop in Hinton for breakfast. The chalets have plenty of seating space if you go during off hours, and the cafes have a larger selection of food to choose from. My family has adopted a schedule that has coffee/snack at 11:00 and lunch at 1:00, which minimizes wait time. The poutine from the upper chalet is a favorite skiing comfort food. If they ever get rid of the chicken caesar wrap I will protest in the strongest possible ways! The chairlifts have been continuously upgraded, but there are a few relic chairs that are slow, but give you ample time to consider your place in the universe. We love Marmot, have a number of strong Christmas and Spring Break traditions built around it, and I encourage anyone to go!

Jay Turner

Great place , great staff

Hugh Kim

They have a birthday promotion. Free for birthday person without any question. Not that crowd and lots of runs. Lovely ski resort...

Dwayne Breitkreutz

A great day of skiing, just like way back when.

Claudia Ramirez

It was fantastic and hardly anyone there on a Monday!

Neil Fillier

Even though it was super busy between Christmas and New years, the multiple quad chairs were up to the task and moved skiers quickly and efficiently. There are tons of runs that span every skill level so there is always somewhere to ski.

Jason Beesen

I don't know how far you'd have to go to find a better mountain. Less crowded, more sun, less ice and slush, more affordable. Great variety of runs, very balanced between beginner, intermediate, expert.

Matt Boychuk

Margot basin is my favorite place to snowboard, it has it's difficult parts, or at least for me they can be, I'm not saying if you are a thrill seeker extraordinaire that you'll fall in love with this mountain but if you enjoy hitting the slopes and having a good time, this is the place I'd recommend 10/10

Morgan Archer

Had a great time, found the staff in the rental area very efficient and helpful would definitely recommend to anyone.

John Smith

Fun

Tate B

Great.

Sunny Chau

Being the only ski resort in the Jasper National Park area that's relatively close and within driving distance from Edmonton, there is no reason not to like it. There are plenty of runs to suit all levels of skiers and enough snow to offer decent skiing in early spring

Jeff

Love this spot! Great all experience mountain, it is accessible to anyone who wants to try for the first time and has enough places for anyone looking for a challenge!

Calvin Sanders

Gr8 shred much wow

Eric Lai

Great resort! Good mix of beginner and advanced runs. Not too crowded either!

Kenneth Mcgechen

Best ski hill even beats banff.

Carter Metke

Awesome if you know how to ski/board, its best to at least have basic knowledge before you come. Overall, a great experiance

brandy vasseur

Best experience ever. The whole family did lessons and my youngest just wasn't getting it. They made accommodations and got him in with Sophie for some extra lessons. She was beyond amazing with him and he was so confident after his lesson with her. Lunch was fantastic and the hill was so much fun. Great people and come on skiing in Jasper is freaking beautiful.

Jaimee Jensen

Fresh powder day!!! Not busy wow absolutely lovely

James Tran

Really great place for those that loves skiing or snowboarding. Definitely have a lot of runs that cater to all levels of skiiers and snowboarders.

Matt H

Awesome hill without the big crowds

John Tucker

Great opening weekend with my son.

Thomas Riding

Super quiet during the week, when it dumps powder its awesome..

David Clark

My favorite hill in the world. They have my heart. So many great family trips, a truly authentic Alberta experience.

Professor

Amazing place to go skiing would reccomend to anyone who asks

Anthony Cerone

Beautiful biginner to intermediate mountain, great place to learn or develop your skills

Kelly Mckenzie

I've been coming to this mountain since I was a little kid. As a snowboarder, I think it's the best place to ride in Alberta.

Glenn Melnychuk

Great skiing

Gary B.

Decent resort, but better places to ski in Canada. Parking is WAY too far from the chalet, especially for those renting equipment. Process for receiving rental equipment and lift tickets is unclear. Wait in one line. Nope wrong line. Go to another place. Where does the line start? Lockers won't work. Nobody to offer change. Trails down the hill are poorly marked, so you are never quite sure where you are, or what you are getting yourself into. Lots of potential. Lacks organisation and leadership.

Adam Mckay

My favorite of Alberta's mountains for snowboarding. By far the easiest to navigate, and has very diverse terrain for all skill levels.

Roman Doshchak

Decent skiing place. You can ski directly to the four parking lots when you're done.

luke tschetter

Awesome place.

J

Great place.

Jesse Erickson

Parking is an issue, go early... but once there the staff is great, amenities (covid considering) are abundant and done well. Great runs and an excellent experience

Pawel Galkiewicz

Poor management of parking and drop offs. Poor covid protocol.

Paul Ryden

Great hill with lots of runs for any skill level. Get lift tickets as Costco or ama for less though

Natalie Gauthier

This mountain is beautiful, not too big but with lots of nice trails. We came on a super cold day, so we spent alot of time warming up in the lodges. We really enjoyed the mid-lodge and the cafeteria was a good call for lunch. We had a veggie burger each and shared fries. They were delicious! The fries were nice and salty and the burgers were flavorful and had that "greasy burger joint" flavor but without the greasiness. Because of the cold weather we didn't have to wait in any lines for tickets or lifts, but couldn't go more than a run or 2 without going in to warm up. We enjoyed the runs, but it was too bad all the new terrain was closed. One of our better decisions that day was parking in the fourth parking lot. It was just a short walk to the nearest run and we were able to ski/board right to our car at the end of the day. I would definitely come again, but maybe later in the season closer to spring.

Marc-Antoine Langlois

Hands down one of my favorite resorts in the Canadian Rockies.

Robert

Amazing ski conditions. My wife and I come here once or twice every year. Absolutely worth it. During covid - make sure you get a parking spot around 8am. An hour before the place officially opens. Otherwise you'll be sent back down the mountain. Fills up fast.

Shana Froom

Had a really great time here with my extended family. It was big enough to keep the advanced people entertained and there were options for the novice skiiers off the same lifts. We were all different speeds going different directions and still we easily found each other throughout the day. We also really liked that it was less crowded than other hills. Looking forward to returning another year.

Curtis Hackett

Much busier than expected.

Jenn Hoogerdijk

Recommend this ski hill to everyone. We all did lessons for a great price. The teacher we patient and helpful. The daycare for my youngest was included with his rental and both boys had lunch included with their lessons and rentals. Recommend to everyone.

Twyla Primosch

First time here, staff were amazing and the view is spectacular!

Jack Dembowski

Great family ski resort.

nadia mckay

Such a great place! Perfect for beginners and experts!! Today I had a 2 hr private lesson with Don, he was amazing. Don was patient and gave great advice to improve my skiing skills!! He is a really nice guy and I’m looking forward to booking another lesson with him!

Aaron van der Vaart

Great place to bring the family. Not far from the townsite of Jasper. This mountain resort offers all types of runs for every skillset. The lifts are easily accessed, other than Trè Hombre. Has two chalets for food and drink, or just too relax. One of my favourite places to go snowboarding with my family and friends.

Turbo

Bruh it's great

Larissa Chenier

Amazing experience for my kiddos at the ski school (ages 4 and 7) private lessons. Absolutely recommend.

Harrison C

The ski hill is decent..good powder due to elevation.. Smaller than Lake louise or sunshine.. similar size to Kananaskis near Canmore. They do not allow eating your own food inside the sitting area and would not even provide hot water without purchasing something. I find this to be unreasonable as not everyone wants to eat your fast food. I drive 30 mins up the hill, spend upwards of $400 for tickets and rental and you won't even let me have a cup of hot water to make some tea ? Will not be returning.

john bowers

Good rate from a ski card at sport check. Runs were in pretty good shape. Had a great day

Nicolas Comeau

I could not recommend this place enough. There are so many runs for beginners and advanced skiiers/borders that everyone will enjoy the hill. I lost the keys to the car that had all of our stuff for the weekend, the staff looked all over for it and when they could not be found, Rob approached me and got gave me all the info I needed to make the best of the situation. He and the amazingly friendly tow truck driver saved the trip for my friends and I and we can't thank them enough.

Brandon

Had a great day on the mountain slopes. Clear skys made the experience worth the trip.

Saengi S

Spring snowboarding here is amazing! Great conditions and it's absolutely dead. No lineups anywhere. The staff and the town is so friendly. I will be coming back every year.

Dalton A.

Super busy! People weren't too aware of social distancing (not sure what I expected though) staff did a good job with enforcing rules.

Skylar Dunning

Consistently the best skiing within 4-5 hours drive of Edmonton. Quieter than Banff resorts and has a good selection of runs.

Greg P

One of my favourite places to ski in the Rockies when the snow is good. The town of Jasper is a fantastic little town. There is lots of other things to do around Jasper as well in the winter (e.g., Maligne Canyon walk).

Dan Cormick

Awsome

Kendall Monti

Great place for the kids to learn how to ski. We put them in snowschool for a few hours and they did great after. Our instructor Niklas was great with the kids and very friendly. I'm excited to go back.
