I was working with Royal Lepage Northern Realty Leaders-Brokerage on buying an investment property that had been sitting empty for 2 years. I put an offer in, an all of a sudden the city was putting together an offer for the same property. I had mentioned to my agent about this as I felt someone went behind my back and started talking to others to drum up interest in this property. I was told by my agent that Is the nature of the business, which is the wrong thing to say. To me this is shady business and I will not use this agency again for my real estate needs. The sad part is we were under contract and I was working through my financing when another deal was being brokered.
