I’d just come into Hope over the Coquihalla from Kamloops and had a massive engine oil spew. I arrived at Brenner Automotive at 4:45 on Friday evening - you could tell the guys we’re all getting ready to go home but a couple of the techs looked at it outside and agreed it looked bad, offered to drive me to where I was going to be staying about 5 miles down the road. They put my vehicle up on the hoist , found the problem, installed the new parts, added 3 litres of oil and I was on my way. This could have been disastrous and most unpleasant on a Friday night but Art, Derek and crew were extremely pleasant, accommodating and wanting to help - even after hours. The town of Hope is fortunate to have such a class act automotive repair shop.

I was so thankful for Brenner. I got into a sticky situation in the middle of my move from Vancouver to the Kootenay's when my clutch gave out in Manning Park. It was a Sunday afternoon and with everything being shut I got towed to Brenner and left it there and managed a ride back to Vancouver. I called them first thing Monday morning and from the start they were so friendly and helpful. Not only were they able to get the work done quickly and within the week, the cost ended up being less than expected and I was even met Saturday morning even though the shop was closed to get the keys as it was the only time I could get back to Hope. Maybe one of the most pleasant shop visits I've ever had! Thank you :)

I want to give a huge shout out to these people who were willing to provide emergency assistance to my daughter while she ran into trouble with her Car while travelling to Van. from the Kootenay's. She had problems with the Brakes as she came into town at the end of the day. They made time to look at and fix her brakes on the spot and got her on her way. Many many kudos to the work that was done.

This shop was great; we were passing through and ran into some car troubles in the afternoon, they managed to diagnose the problem the very same day. They helped us book a near by motel, and dropped/picked us up. Technicians were very friendly and explained the issue very well. If I lived in the area, I would definitely consider making this my go-to shop.

I can't speak highly enough of the technicians and staff at Brenner Automotive. They are friendly, knowledgeable, straight forward and fair. By far the best auto shop experience I have ever had. We broke down on the Coquihalla in a 28 ft diesel motor home and got towed to Brenner where we stayed the night awaiting the shop to open in the morning. The staff at Brenner selflessly pointed me in what they felt was the best direction with other shops in Hope as diesel motorhome said are not their forte. The other shops were unwilling or unable to take us on. Resigned to waiting until the following week, I returned to Brenner to plan our next move. Upon arrival I found a Brenner tech under my motorhome trying to at least get a diagnosis on the problem. An hour later, with the help of Brenner, I was well on my way to resolving the issues and back on the road. Brenner automotive took the time to help me find out our issues which in the end saved us a lot of money and time and got us back on the road. I was treated with kindness, sympathy and respect at Brenner and if I lived in Hope or ever broke down remotely close to there again, I would not hesitate to return to Brenner Automotive.

I can't say enough good things about Brenner Automotive. Our Ford Escape broke down halfway between Merritt and Hope, and we contacted Lordco to see which mechanic they would recommend in Hope. They highly recommended Brenner, and I am so glad they did. It turned out our engine was blown, and they were so compassionate about taking care of us. They helped us get a rental car so we were able to get home, and then quickly found us a replacement engine, and we were able to pick the car up less than a week later. It is now running great, thank you so much Dennis, Shawna and the amazing staff at Brenner!

Moving cross province the other day saw us attempting to climb the Crowsnest Highway to Manning Park when we had a catastrophic oil failure. With a vehicle full of household goods and an anxious state of mind, we were put at ease by Shawna and Dennis at Brenner Automotive. They fit us into their busy schedule and saw us on our way in no time. Patience is a necessity with an older vehicle as ours, the positives are that you get to slow down and meet people along the way, wonderful people, like the Brenner's.

Six Stars, actually......On Sunday I came down the Coquihalla and had a coolant leak. Fortunately I was able to make it to Hope where everything was closed. The leak was substantial, so continuing to Vancouver out of the question. The very friendly attendant at the PetroCanada station pointed me to "Brenner Automotive" and said that I would be in good hands. How true....I parked my car in front of Brenner and by a stroke of luck one of the guys who work there, Todd, was at the shop on a Sunday. He offered to take care of my car first thing after the holiday, I was able to leave the car key and that saved a return trip to Hope. They called on Tuesday morning to let me know what had to be done, got the spare parts and the car ready for pickup a couple of days later. Art, Todd, Derek and all the staff were not just friendly but super competent and knowledgeable. So if you are going to break down with your car, do it around Hope and get the car over to Brenner, it will be a very pleasant experience. Keep up the good work, guys and stay the way you are. You are way ahead of the rest of the vehicle service pack. Thanks and see you soon for some regular service work.

We have had several vehicles serviced at Brenner’s over the past few years. My son recently visited and had to be towed off the highway. We suggested Brenner’s and weren’t disappointed. Required repairs were extensive, but Art and his team were able to sort out the most important safety related repairs and did them first. They were sympathetic to his budget and did great work as well. We would recommend Brenner’s for all your needs, no matter how big or small. They know the meaning of quality service and show a small town friendliness to all.

Where do I start? Our vacation was nearing an end when we had the good fortune (read on) of breaking down prior to the long haul across the Coquihalla, right before a long weekend and during the prime vacation time of the year. Not only did Art and Tina and their fine staff make the time to have an initial look at our Westfalia camper van, but when it became apparent that parts would have to be ordered and we would have to find accommodations in town, Art went the extra mile and arranged a room (last one in town seemingly) at a local motel, made recommendations for good local eating (with a discount to boot!) and we felt well looked after and that our beloved Westie was in good and competent hands. It's refreshing to know that there are still local shops like this that place such a premium on service and winning a lifelong, loyal customer.

Had a thermostats replaced was even charged for the removal of it even though we removed it ourselves and found out it was in perfect condition .was charged for a brand new one anyways even tho we left ours sitting in the dash.$481.00 later we got a new hose!!

Heard a very odd noise coming from the engine area. Had just passed Hope at the time and had to turn around to slowly make our way back into town. Found Brenner Automotive and explained the situation. I can’t recall the mechanics name but he took the car for a drive and came back and explained what happened (front fender liner had torn off). Went above and beyond and we were able to continue our trip. Thank you!!!!!

If you ever have any issues at all these guys are amazing!!! I can't thank them enough for everything they did!! On my way home from Vancouver to Calgary my girlfriend and I had broken down on Sunday of the long weekend on the Coquihalla and got a tow to their shop. With everything being closed on the long weekend we were stranded in hope until Tuesday however I was able to talk to Art and had my vehicle looked at ASAP. They brought me in to show me the issue and gave me absolute confidence in their knowledge. Once understanding the time frame for a transmission we were left to find a way home being half hour to an hour away from the nearest town or some kind of way home. However, Art and his team offered to go out of their way and drive us to where we needed. Which ended up being an hour away drive to catch the first flight from abbotsford to fly home. They didn't hesitate and were amazing through the whole thing. I can't thank them enough. Not to mention they were able to pick us up from the airport on a Sunday and open up just so i could pick up my vehicle. They went completely out of their way to help our situation which is something you don't see very often. Honestly, I can't thank them enough and you can have absolute trust in them if you have any issues at all.

Our car broke down 50km out of Hope towards Merrit. The tow truck driver took us to Brenner Auto. While they were going over the car we went into town and talked to some of the locals. They all had nothing but good things to say about them. The car was done quickly and the price was fair. I'd would definitely go back to these guys again.

After a shop in Merritt bled my line when my clutch failed, they told me it was fine and sent me on my way. I lost my clutch again coming into Hope. I called Brenner Automotive and they got me in right away, bled the line again, and told me that it would likely happen again unless i got the slave cylinder replaced or the master cylinder. They made no promises and made no diagnosis until further investigation. They were completely HONEST with me and charged me next to nothing for what they did. Then they taught me how to drive without a clutch so i could get my car back to Kelowna as i was stressed for time. Both men were amazingly kind and patient. What a great shop!! June Forman

Brenner Automotive rescued us twice this year on our route to the Okanagan. The first time, it was my daughter's car. The competition quoted her a few hundred dollars and a few days to fix. Luckily, my distraught daughter went to Brenner's. The problem was fixed quickly with no charge and her vacation plans were back on track. The second time, it was my wife and I. Unfortunately we broke down on the weekend on the Coquihalla, BCAA would only tow with our coverage to Hope so we had the truck drop the car off at Brenner. It took a few days because of a backlog of work but they figured out the problem, (a relay) and our car was back in operation with a very reasonable charge. They gave a good detailed explanation of the problem plus the failed part as well. They are the absolute best!
