Took my car in because of an oil leak. I only bought the car (not from them) but it is only a year old and when I bought it the old had been changed and nothing was wrong then as far as I know. Anyway, over $200 later and they still didn't fill my oil. I thought it might be covered under warranty but they insisted it wasn't. They also did something withmy brakes and now I am second guessing if that was necessary. I don't think I'll be bringing my car back there for servicing.

Was there today July 28th by making an appointment because I was hearing cracking sound from the tires and they didn't take my car in for 3 hours and they ran a diagnosis on it for around 10-15 mins charged me 125 dollars saying I was paying for the hourly service the service guy was very rude. I will not be going back there ever again. And they "test drove" my car to see where it was coming from. For 10kms. If could give zero stars I would.

My wife and I visited Steele Hyndai last week in search of a new family car as we had outgrown our small hatch. Kaylee worked with us and provided exemplary service. She was knowledgable and let us talk through if we wanted to go new or pre owned. She offered pertinent information without pressure. Due diligence dictated we shop around and it wasnt but hours later we returned to Kempt road to buy our new Tucson. The places we visited after Steele Hyndai lacked both in comfort of environment and customer service when compared to Kaylee McGregor. At no point did she try to upsale us or pressure my wife and I. We were also lucky to work with Anette in financing. Both ladies were enjoyable to be around and though I know to buy a car with my pocketbook and not my heart I went away with the car I wanted and no stress or regret of having chose Steele Hyndai.

I just spent $50k+ on a new car from this dealer (my second purchase from them in 5 years). A design flaw in the key (remote) made me lose it within weeks of purchase (it fell off very easily). When I reported it, they informed me that I should have brought the key in BEFORE it was lost, as if I should have known about the design flaw. The replacement cost would be $500+ and they refuse to cover even a part of that. I've ceased all service appointments with them (for both my cars) as a result. For them, a big future net loss. Smart move, Steele.

Took my Accent in to have a knocking rear seat latch fixed under warranty. Their solution was to just wrap it in electrical tape and hope I wouldn't notice. Also wanted my screeching breaks service. Got it back, breaks still screeching, and knocking and warped. Took it back and asked them to do it again...same thing. Took it back again and asked general manager to make sure it was done properly. Breaks are a little better, but still squealing. I was told it was because my break pads were after after market not Hyundai. Well then put Hyundai pads on and get rid of the screeching like I asked the first time. how did it take 3 trips for them to figure that out?! Never will I go here again for a paid job..and always double check the quality of their warranty work. As long as I live in Halifax I will never buy another Hyundai simply because I don't want to deal with this dealership anymore. The service department really needs to get it together.

Celebrated our 1 year anniversary of purchasing our Hyundai Ioniq Electric recently with the kind and knowledgeable assistance of Lizz Nguyen. If you are thinking of getting any Hyundai, but in particular an EV, Lizz is the one to see. For any potential EV buyer, consider the offerings from Hyundai. We couldn't be more pleased with our Ioniq; we've been from one end of Nova Scotia to the other in the Ioniq without any difficulties. We've camped in the Valley; we've done the Cabot Trail. The charging infrastructure for EVs in NS is sufficient, although it could always be better. Just takes a little planning. Was looking forward to planning a trip to Ontario, but alas, Covid had other plans. Maybe someday soon. Most of the time the Ioniq is just used for daily commutes and errands around the city, with occasional trips to farmer's markets in the Valley, or to Masstown Market, which it's range can easily handle. Charging at home is a breeze; no more gas stations! I had never owned a Hyundai before purchasing the Ioniq, but I enjoyed the experience at Steele Hyundai. Not too often you here that!

I arrived at 7:35 pm for a 7:30 appointment made in the late afternoon in response to all call from a salesman who called to tell me the vehicle was still available. The salesman did not come when the receptionist paged him, so I told her I would go out in the parking lot to look at the vehicle and she said she would send him out. Two problems-- First, it was not in nearly as good condition as he had told me. Second, it had a sold sign on the windshield. When he did not come outside, I went back in, thinking that possibly it was a different vehicle of the same model and age, but of different condition. The receptionist told me that she thought the salesman had gone home. I asked if the vehicle had been sold and she said that she thought it had been sold that afternoon. Three more problems-- the salesman did not call to tell me it had sold before he went home (he had my number and I have voicemail), he did not call to tell me he would not be there for our appointment, and the receptionist did not apologise. What a waste of time.

I've bought a used Santa Fe and my wife bought a new Elantra there. The service dept seems to exist for the up-sell. Thank God I knew the sales person and she helped me out a LOT the few times I had to take my Santa Fe in for work. My wife's Elantra has been working well but she bought the road hazard warranty on her rims and winter tires which she was told included punctures but this morning I took her car in to have the winters put on and asked them to fix one of the tires under the road hazard warranty and the rude little dork service adviser told me he's never heard of punctures being covered before. I said that may be but everytime I've bought tires with road hazard anywhere else that sort of thing was explicitly included. He kept cutting me off and was very argumentative. Its very unlikely I'd ever buy there again.

I have walked into Steele Hyundai a few times, and I found the customer service to be much below my standards. As being a car shopper, I have to visit multiple dealerships, but Steele Hyundai has to be one of the worst. First, I walked in there a couple times with my friend to help him purchase a car. We weren't welcomed even once by a salesperson. I had to walk around and find a salesperson to talk with; however, I'm glad I found a great guy to help me. Second, my friend purchased a vehicle from Steele Hyundai and it got some issues within driving less than 10k kilometres. We went to the service centre, and I spoke to the service specialist regarding the issue. He was not willing to hear the issues, kept interrupting me and was extremely rude. Whenever I asked him a question, he gave me a dirty stare and kept quiet. His questions also didn't have a full closure, for example I asked "Will my car be checked before the end of tomorrow?", he answered "Maybe". Wait.. what!? We are dropping our vehicle, and you can not tell us when you will even check it. Horrible! Disclaimer: Steele Hyundai will also not provide you with a loaner vehicle unlike Lexus that does for me every time I go. Yes, I know this is Steele and they are Oregans, but Steele is very weak at competing. This review is not to bash this place, or give it a bad name, but to help the management improve the facility. This cannot happen overnight; however, a staff meeting must occur and a proper training needs to be done. Also note: There is nothing against the receptionist, or any other staff, but the sales people and service specialists need to step their game up.

Went to buy my first car, first salesman was pushy, second one wouldn't shut up. Bad first impression. Secondly, supposedly under their policy I can't bring a car to my own mechanic, which is a massive red flag. Thirdly, the car I test drove twice was 'sold' an hour before I went to buy it, except my father went online to the ad that was still posted and sent them an email with a fake name. They said the car was still there and asked if he wanted to test drive it. Guess they don't want someone who asks a lot of questions and pays with cash? Who knows.

Don’t know what’s going on with the service department. Whenever i visit, It’s look like they are giving me a favour, I mean it’s their job and they are not doing it for free. I paid them for the that. I asked my service advisor to check the engine light now because may be it’ll gonna off at the when you’ll gonna take it to service bay and he told me your uber is booked and you can go we’ll check when we have time. I was like are you serious!! It’ll take only 2-3 minutes or less. On the other hand, if I talk about my car which I buy from steele chev. Dealership in march this year giving me very poor performance. Since the day I buy it, I am bringing it to steele Hyundai on an average every two weeks every time engine light was on and the whole car was vibrating. Much more to write but will see after today’s service. Never buy Hyundai!!!!!!! Or never buy Elantra

I went in looking to see it was worth trading in my 2013 Sonata. I met with Allie VanNorden to discuss my options. I told her if I was going to get a new vehicle it had to be a Santa Fe. Allie showed me some 2019 vehicles and I said I would have to think about it. Allie kept me informed of everything that was happening, her customer service is second to none. When we where about to close on the 2019 Allie got me a deal on a 2020 Santa Fe that was amazing. It stayed within my payment plan I had set myself. The only thing I insisted on was it to be Blue. Allie and the team she works with some how got me a Blue Santa Fe from outside the province. I could not be happier with Allie's customer service and would gladly recommend her to anyone who is looking for a new or used vehicle. I am very disappointed with steel Hyundai service.I used to service my car in Niagara falls and I always had excellent service from Hundayii.Recently i moved here and started to get service from steel Hundayii.The service is expensive but i am kk to pay if it has quality which is very disappointing i had same experience 3 tym so I am not going back again. I recently bought a new car from this dealership and overall the staff are very nice. Through the sales process everything was good. In the first 2 weeks after receiving the car I needed to bring it in to have the paint and interior sprayed with a protectant, I was also awaiting a part to be delivered. There were some hiccups with miscommunications and delays around those items. The next time I was in the dealership my sales person (Mesh) did an excellent job of addressing the issues head-on and asking for my thoughts/concerns on the matters. He apologized for the inconvenience (even though not really his fault) and said he'd be taking the criticisms to his manager to help improve their process in future. Deal with your salesperson, they'll ensure you have the best experience possible.

My Husband and I was at this Halifax location to purchase a car. We knew what we want so we had a few questions about the car and financing and we wanted to test drive the car. We waited 15 min to talk to a sales person and finally he showed up to help us but mentioned he had another customer so he is helping us at the same time. Then after all conversation we wanted to go forward to talk about financing. I ask if anyone was available at the time and he said yes and ask us to seat and wait. We waited almost 40 minutes or more, nobody acknowledged us and it was getting pretty late so we decided to leave. When we said we were leaving, it's getting late and we have been waiting for a while, sales person just said ok, and asked about our names because he didn't even got our names when we were chatting with him. I call this poor customer service. If you guys are busy, I understand but let the customer know and not ask the to wait for 40 minutes without updates. Customers are busy too so when they finally find a time to visit the store they would appreciate a little help.

Head and shoulders above anyone else we dealt with at any other dealerships. I have been a year in writing this, to make sure i was happy with our new car, and service. Everything has been great. Nothing short of 10/10 experiences with the staff here. From Sales, to the Front Desk, to the Service department. Originally went in back in 2018 looking at getting a Kona, but couldn't for unforeseen reasons. My sales rep, Benn, found the perfect balance between checking in and being overbearing. Touched base every other month or so to see how we were doing, and if we were still interested, but was never pushy. Since going back and buying a Kona in April, their service and friendliness has been top tier. Recently went back for my 6 month/6000km service and the service was nothing short of stellar. They were fast fixing my vehicle, but, 2 of the people I spoke to ( service and receptionist) needs to know how to speak with customers. They also need to know how to smile and do not talk over the customers. I have premium plus warranty and went back for service. No car rental (even it’s in the warranty descriptions / benefits) as they said Enterprise does not have any cars. I also paid $200 for diagnostics the AC, which needed to be recharged only. I could have charged it somewhere else for $100 or $120. They also does not return messages for days. Need better management or whoever to run that place.

Staff are condescending when asking questions regarding billing, staff cannot communicate the overview of the service being provided nor can they communicate the service and fees in a clear conscience manner before proceeding with maintenance. A lot of places want to be in the car with you when you test drive which makes it hard to talk to your spouse about what you like and don't like because the salesman usually will interrupt you and try to sell you on why the vehicle does it that way. I have purchased 3 Hyundai Sonatas’ from Steele Hyundai, so I guess I can say that I don’t have a problem with the Dealership and I like the Sonata. My 1st was a 2009 Sport, nice vehicle, dependable, good looking and reasonabley priced. Then I got the 2012 2.0T. Great looks, sporty, fast and fun to drive. There was a noticeable improvement from my previous vehicle in the build and handling quality and again it was a dependable vehicle at a good price. I really liked this vehicle and had no intention of getting rid of it but the salesperson who I have bought my previous vehicles from, Bob Brown, mentioned to me, when I was in getting the 2012 serviced, that he had a couple of Sonatas on sale. Not having anything to do while my car was being serviced, I decided to take a test drive. Bob had two left, both 2015 Sports but one was the 2.0T. So of course, I tried the Turbo first and right off the get go I noticed the improvement in workmanship and handling of the vehicle. It felt more solid to drive and it was quieter and better handling that the 2012. (Oh and fun to drive). I was not crazy about the color and the other Sport ( with no Turbo) had the panoramic roof which looked interesting so I took it for a drive. It did not have the get up and go of the Turbo but it was good enough and when it the sport mode it has a good jump where you needed but it just did not have the top end speed or quick acceleration of the Turbo. But it was noticeably quieter that the turbo and the handling was just as good. The improvements over the 2012 are too many to mention and over the 2009 it seems like light years ahead. The exterior was not as sleek as the 2012 but it does have a nice design with more of a grown up appearance even though you can still see the old design in it. So, the deal was too god to pass up and I took the Sport without the Turbo. Go figure, but I liked the looks and feel of the vehicle and both vehicles were pretty well appointed with options. The interior of both vehicles are top notch, very impressive, roomy and functional. I have now had this vehicle for about 2 months now and I have come to love it. The Sonata has come a long way since my first one and I think it is a strong contender for the best in its class. I sometimes miss the Turbo but I have no regrets. Hyundai has been good to me and so have Steele Hyundai in Halifax, NS. I will try to do an update and if I ever have a problem I will be sure to let do another review.

I believe it was in 2010 when I had issues with my previous car, a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon in which I took it to Speedy Auto in Bedford NS to have new tires put on my car. At that time the mechanic noticed that several of my struts were leaking, as well as several other issues that would ultimately be covered under warranty. When I attempted to take it to Steele Hyundai, they inspected the car and told me nothing was wrong. This agitated me. I figured I should get a second opinion because I had a feeling Hyundai did not want to honor my warranty. I then took it to Scotia Hyundai in Amherst NS and they gave me the same list of issues that Speedy Auto told me and they ultimately fixed the problem under warranty. I then returned to Steele Hyundai and spoke with the manager and his response was “Well everyone can miss things” I never pursued the matter any further because I refused to deal with them again. I only mention it now because I want to show you my reluctance to once again take my car into Steele Hyundai in Halifax NS. This ultimately lasted until January 2015 when I had no other choice. I started noticing that my shifter was extremely difficult to shift at times, and my clutch was only able to be pushed in so far and was having a lot of trouble shifting gears. My vehicle ended up breaking down on the MacKay Bridge and I had no other choice but to drive into Steele Hyundai in 2nd gear because I could not shift into a higher or lower gear. Upon their inspection that ultimately told me that my clutch fluid had become contaminated and was turning into a black sloppy substance. I asked them what was contaminating it and they said they didn’t know. After hearing this I immediately called Hyundai Canada and spoke with “Nicole” who told me that fluids are not covered under warranty, however if it can be identified as to what is contaminating the fluid, then it would be covered under warranty because fluids are generally not covered. Hyundai refused to tell me what was contaminating the clutch fluid (I asked them several times about this), and their response was that there was no way to identify what the issue was. They then flushed the fluid, as well as the brake fluid (which was not contaminated), and charged me $523.19. I then called “Nicole” again at Hyundai Canada and left a message. This call was never returned. Approximately two weeks later I again started having the same issue with my car. I became very agitated because whatever was contaminating the fluid was likely doing it again. I took it into Steele Hyundai once again and they told me that my clutch fluid is again contaminated, and it was my Master Cylinder that was creating the problem. According to Steele Hyundai, this cylinder was supposedly creating a bi-product that was entering the clutch fluid and contaminating it. I then felt some relief because they have now identified what was contaminating the clutch fluid and it was no longer a “fluid” issue that was not covered under warranty. It was now an issue with a part on the car that was covered under warranty. The Steele Hyundai representative told me it was not covered, and that I required another system flush, and a new master cylinder. Cost was now an additional 700$. I left Steele Hyundai immediately and called Nicole again at Hyundai Canada and left a message with someone for Nicole to call me back, twice!! This call was not returned. My car was ultimately fixed (for free - under warranty) by Ralley Motors in Moncton NB. I then returned to Steele Hyundai and demanded my money back. They re-imbursed me my 519.23 and told me that there was a "glitch" in their system and that is why parts were not covered. (However they only told me this once they seen that the repairs were done for free and under warranty by another dealership) This is absolutely unbelievable. How many thousands of people have been affected by this "glitch" ???? Anyways, my rant for the day. Please I implore everyone - DO NOT take your car to get serviced by Steele Hyundai. They are complete crooks.

I bought an almost new Accent in 2016 (it was a 2016 with 10,000 km). I did not buy it from Steele so I can't comment on their sales customer service. I brought it to Steele because it was at a convenient location. They told me it was under warranty to fix and ordered the part necessary to fix it. My boyfriend brought my car in for me to get fixed today and they told him they changed their minds and it's not covered under warranty. I'm completely baffled as to how they can tell a customer they 'changed their minds' about a warranty! When I bought my car and signed the paper work the warranty was included in that contract and it isn't something you can just change your mind about. This is terrible customer service and I feel like I am being nickeled and dimed. I just finished University and I don't have a lot of extra money to spare to spend on unexpected bills to pay for car repairs. The reason I bought an almost new car was because I wanted something reliable and something I wouldn't have to pour a lot of money into fixing. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service we received from Steele.

the service/managers/owners at this place have absolutely no interest in customer service or getting the job done right, also do not care about anything but getting cars in and getting cars out to be paid, even had the manager screaming and yelling at me because I told him he had bad service. He took it very personally and took it out on me. If you want to be treated fairly and honestly when it comes to fixing your car DO NOT GO TO STEELE HYUNDAI. Brought my car to Steele Hyundai for warranty work, the motor had a obvious tick in it with only 30,000km on it. I believed it was a sticky lifter or fuel injectors. I brought it in on Tuesday, didn't hear one word from them afterwords.. returned 5 days later to see what was going on with my car and found out it had just been sitting in the parking lot for 4 days and didn't even work on it. They put it on the lift on the spot and did their work, and returned my car to me and said it was fixed. Drove home and opened my engine bay to find my air intake not even put back together with the air filter sticking out of it. Not only that but the problem I originally brought it in for still exists. Motor is still ticking and now there is a sound coming from the intake, great. over all I would say my experience with Steele Hyundai was the worst with any dealer I've ever been to. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE dealership in every single aspect.

Alex Murphy was an excellent salesman to deal with, even answering text messages and emails outside of business hours which was a refreshing surprise, and he continued to be great even after the sale closed and my Santa Fe was delivered. Felt a bit stiffed and lied to on the undercoating. Was told by the finance manager that "her guys" know where and where not to spray to avoid gunking up on board computers and sensors. As they "only work on hyundais all day long." Brought it in the next day for the work to be done. Vehicle was picked up and then brought back by a Rust Check employee. I knew I was overpaying for the undercoating, but I was only willing to pay that much based on a blatant lie. Brought it in to the service dept. once so far due to the downhill brake control light being on. Ended up being a screwup by the installers of my tow wiring. Was a pretty good visit overall, but their shuttle driver actually passed gas while walking by about a foot from my face. No question, I heard it, I smelled it. It's a natural function sure, but right in an area with customers, and a bathroom just five feet away? Come on! I found a secluded area to sit in the rest of my visit and my vehicle was ready shortly thereafter.

What a fantastic experience with the service department start to finish. Cliff is incredible at what he does!!! I needed a tire ordered to replace a damaged one on my vehicle. It turns out it was difficult to source. Cliff called me multiple times to keep me updated on the status of my tire, and when it did finally arrive, he was able to get me an appointment that very same day to get my tire replaced. He was patient and thoughtful and thorough. When I did bring my car in for my appointment, the great experience continued. The sales experience was fantastic at the start. However once the vehicle is in your possession, that's when the friendly behaviour and promises stop. I was sold on their paint and fabric warranties with the promise that it would cover any paint scratch. Don't fall for it like I did, don't take any of their extra or extended warranties. They arnt worth the paper it's printed on. They will tell you whatever you want to hear to purchase their products and then not back it up. I will not be purchasing any new vehicles from this place, and I reccomend no one else does.

Would not recommend this location. I went in looking to buy a new car and see what they could offer. Sales person refused to talk to me (would only talk to my boyfriend who was with me) and when he did talk to me he would only talk about the "beautiful colours" that the car came in. As a mechanical engineer I care much more about the car specs than the colour. It was a very sexist and negative experience. The customer service was also poor. When I inquired about different financing options they were very hesitant to provide the details I wanted and seemed hostile when they learned I was shopping around. I may buy a hyuandai but it definitely won't be from this dealership.

Our 2016 Tuscon was towed December 2019 for a blown engine. The car was returned to us on Feb. 14th 2020and it didnt even start when we picked it up. You refused us use of a loaner for the 2mnths you held our car hostage. 2weeks later we get it back and it stalls out after 30 minutes of use. Its now almost October and the car still doesnt work, still stalls. Steeles insist each time we take it in that its a new problem, fix it and give it back with a bill and it still stalls. We will now be on our 4th service call and a 1300$ additional bill. This dealership needs to be avoided the will not stand behind their work , will treat you horribly. Please, you will regret doing business with steeles. It is now my mission to inform as many people about this dealership! Absolutely shameful!

Would I purchase another Hyundai? Yes Would I purchase from Steele again? Not likely. I purchased a 2018 Elantra two weeks ago. The salesman was easy to deal with, but the interaction I had with the dealership's sales manager almost caused me to walk away. Also, the condition my car was in when I picked it up really soured the whole experience. I purchased a brand new vehicle, which should have been in pristine condition on the day I picked it up. Instead, as I was driving away from the dealership, I noticed a long list of flaws that should not have been overlooked. Smears on all the windows, dirt on the underside of the dash panels, crumbs in the drivers door pocket, dirt on the rear seat, grass and plastic under the front passenger seats, cleaning residue drips on door panels. I could go on. When the dealership contacted me to follow up after my purchase, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the lack of effort that was put into preparing my new vehicle. The rep assured me the issue would be taken care of. I let a week pass with no word, and called back. I was assured again that my car would be given a complete detail to make up for the failings on the dealerships part. Left my car on a Saturday for 4 hours to be cleaned. When I picked my car up, my salesman told me that he inspected my car, and everything was perfect. The exterior had been washed, but everything else was largely in the same condition. The cleaner used on the rims was clearly sprayed on and left there to collect dirt. The pictures below show just how much effort was put into two attempts at properly prepping my purchase. The treatment I have received so far gives the impression either the dealership doesn't have much respect for their customers, the products they sell, or are completely disinterested in building lifelong customer relationships.

Wasn't great. I went in looking at a car on their website. I told the guy (Glenn Miller) that we should discuss price first. After about 15 minutes he comes back with a price that is asking price, admin fee and taxes. If you want to be like Auction Direct and not negotiate, tell people up front. I would never go back there ever. Waste of time.

Had our Elantra in this morning to have a hood latch replaced and a recall done. Robert was pleasant and excellent to deal with. He thought the appointment could be 2 hours. I settled in to the waiting room and picked up a complimentary news paper. I was half way through when Robert informed me the car was ready. Thanks to tech 277 who quickly diagnosed the problem in an earlier 15 minute appointment and again today for getting me out the door in less than 45 minutes. This is our second Elantra from this dealership since 2012 and only the second time we've been back for an issue other than to see Cliff for maintenance items. Thanks

Great Sales team and excellent service. I dealt with Sharif (Sales) & Paul (Finance) whom went above and beyond every step of the way (more details below). Experience wise, I traded in a Lease and purchased a New vehicle. After the usual negotiations and the final sale price was set, I was in my new vehicle within 3 business days. Why 3 business days ? The lease holder encountered delays finalizing the sale with Steele… without this hiccup I have no doubt I would have been in my new vehicle within 24 hours. During these 72 hours both Sharif & Paul kept me informed every step of the way (updates every couple of hours) both were calm, friendly and helpful throughout the purchase and this is the only time I legitimately felt like a dealer had my best interests in mind. Once signing day came, Sharif walked me through the features of my vehicle and has checked in since my purchase to ensure I was satisfied along with ensuring me if I ever have any issues or questions in general to give him a call on his cell. This was a far cry from my previous experience with Steele back in 2007. Great job !
