Not a terrible place for a cheap vehicle... Do be careful tho ask questions about the vehicle condition (If anything is wrong) as per their protocol they rip the MVI off as these are all AS-IS traded vehicles. They are normally also ok if you want to take the vehicle to a mechanic yourself to see how much you would spend. Staff is very accommodating.

The staff were rude. I was waiting 3+ days for papers I needed to have the car registered. I had been calling and was repeatedly told they didn't have them, when I showed up they were there and had been there the whole time. I didn't get the manual or extra car key I was told I would receive. I was also told they had the car checked and it was in good shape. I even had it pre inspected myself at a place they recommended. But I had several issues shortly after including having my axle break in half. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Best value in maritime so much option and quality vehicles constantly pass through if you have the patience and smart decisions. Aslong as u do a through check when you find ur choice in vehicle, it’s never disappointed me.I recommend Alastair from the Halifax wholesale dealership if you’re looking for genuine sales consultants def one of the best sales people I’ve dealt with whenever I buy a vehicle there.

The staff was friendly and very accommodating - they actually let you test drive cars from their dartmouth location which opens up more options, and will haggle with you. The cars here should definitely be looked at by a mechanic before buying though! We test drove 4 cars (varying degrees of rusty body problems adding up to 2k+ in repairs) before settling on a reasonably priced one with a reasonable repair quota, but went through registration hell for a week because the cars are sold "as is". Not a bad experience all things considered though.

Buying a used car from O'Regan's Wholesale Direct Halifax was EXACTLY, and by that I mean SOMEWHAT SIMILAR, to the experience of a young Sam Witwicky when he bough his first used car, as portrayed in the film 'Transformers', a film by Michael Bay. I arrived at the Wholesale Direct Halifax location and immediately locked onto my metallic beauty, like it was staring at me, eyes unblinking. The charming Specialist Eric Cochrane met me outside and handed me the keys, as if he knew this car was going to be my perfect alien companion. As I started the car up, some weird feedback came through the radio - I paid no attention. It looked fabulous inside, and smelled like new. No serious wear and tear on the outside, but the car had a kind of cosmic energy. I had a mechanic look at the car and he said, and I quote, "This car is an alien from Cybertron. Be very careful. It's a good deal though." I paid the mechanic handsomely. Then my car transformed into a a war machine from Cybertron and I returned to Wholesale Direct Halifax and bought the car in cash. I was able to negotiate since my war machine has some minor work needed. You should go here. You will get a Transformer too. Ask for Eric.

Called to book an appt for 2 cars from Halifax and one from Dartmouth, was told no problem. Showed up the next day for appt to be told they had no record of the appt, the two cars went to auction and the third was still in Dartmouth. The salesperson wasn't particularly apologetic and said that frequently there are issues with appointments as they're done through a call centre. Ended up going to Dartmouth and had a great experience.

I attended / spoke with private sellers & representatives of several dealerships in NS, NL, Montreal & Ottawa. I was prepared to buy anywhere between St. John's and Kanata; I wanted the right vehicle (a Mini in fantastic condition) for the right price. My arduous search ended after meeting Jake Trider at O'Regan's Wholesale Direct, and driving the 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman in stock. I began at local used car dealerships. Though the service seemed genuine, the vehicles were not in the expected shape, CarProof reports were unavailable & not a semblance of history could be given. Local private sellers took days to respond to simple questions; others never replied. Of the two I test drove, one needed visible repairs that weren't mentioned; another was found to be on a salvage title. While in Montreal, I arranged a test drive of a "showroom quality car" at a dealership with four outlets. I was then told it had been moved to another location, was being inspected & no longer for sale as it "may" have problems; they tried to up-sell me on more expensive Minis. The next day, a new ad was posted for the car, however the dealership would not respond to my inquiries. At another dealership, the salesman told me their Mini was in amazing condition with no collision claims. The CarProof and inspection reports showed otherwise. The inspection incorrectly listed the transmission of the car; tough to trust when the "mechanic" didn't get the tranny correct. The CarProof report showed a collision with $4000 of damage. I confronted the salesman, who replied he didn't lie as he said it had no "collision claims", meaning the insurance company didn't repair it. A search in Ottawa led me to a Mini, but reviews on the dealership were horrible, including disclosures of lawsuits. I tested one from Steele in Halifax; the car leaked a lot of tranny fluid at the end of the drive. I attended O'Regan's for a test drive after messaging a salesman. Jake immediately greeted me. He gave some history about the vehicle, as well as his experience driving it. He was upfront, telling me the dealership sold used trade-ins from O'Regan's, the vehicles often need some work, & to have a mechanic check the vehicle. After the test, Jake provided me with the CarProof report. We briefly discussed price, which unfortunately exceeded my means. But over the next few days, Jake diligently continued to work on my behalf, along with his manager, to bring the vehicle within my price range. Though gone for several hours to have the vehicle checked, Jake did not constantly call or message me. I returned with the report, came to an agreed price and sealed the deal. It was a very positive experience. So why would I recommend Jake Trider and O'Regan's Wholesale Direct? (1) As a well-dressed young man who hasn't been doing this for years, Jake seems to truly care about the customer. No fake smile, no fake words, no fake anything. This guy is genuine. If he knows the answer, he provides it transparently; if he doesn't, he admits same and searches for it. He doesn't make promises he can't keep, but keeps the ones he makes. He quickly responds to messages and emails. This guy is one of the good ones, which is becoming more and more rare. (2) The vehicles are used, sold for lower prices and without warranty. Don't expect detailing. Don't expect it certified. They encourage you to bring it to a mechanic. If you're seriously considering the purchase, have the vehicle thoroughly checked over. I brought it to Corbin’s in Sackville (I highly recommend); they provided a FULL report for around $65. (3) The vehicles are sold “as is”, which is the exact same as buying it from a private seller. (4) There is some room for negotiation on the price; take the time to sit down and talk with them. (5) I spoke with many dealerships and private sellers in four provinces prior to attending O’Regan’s. THIS was the LAST place I went as I needed to search no further. Jake knocked the ball out of the park compared to the others. This business had the right car for the right price.

I recently purchased a car from Alastair at Wholesale Direct. Living in Ontario, I had to be able to trust what they were telling me about the car, especially given that it is 22 years old. They were honest with me right from the start, offered to have it inspected and send me the report. Everything was exactly as they described. When it can time to have the car picked up, I had some friends fly out and get it. Alastair went out of his way to accommodate what needed to be done. He even delivered the car to a local hotel so it would be waiting and ready to go. I would not hesitate to recommend O’Regans Wholesale Direct to anyone.

Everyone knows that car shopping can be exhausting, and certainly very time consuming. We travelled to a few used car dealers and then came across O'Regan's Wholesale Direct in Halifax. We were greeted by Gervae Smith and we explained to him what we were looking for in our budget. He asked a few questions and then explained in detail how the process worked at their lot. In no time at all, off we went on a tour of vehicles he recommended given what we were looking for. We quickly narrowed it down to two, and he recommended we take both for a drive to see what our thoughts were to fit our needs. Upon return, we narrowed it down to one. We asked many questions about the vehicle and probably too many, but he was very knowledgeable on the vehicle, and was honest to say when he had to confirm. He was prompt to get the response and relayed it onto us. At no time did we feel uncomfortable and when we met with the manager to negotiate the price, he was equally forthcoming. Going into the process to shop for a vehicle, both my wife and I dreaded knowing what we were in for. Hours and hours of speaking with sales reps that we know are just trying to get a sale for their income as well. It can be daunting to say the least even before you leave your home. So, it was actually quite refreshing to speak to Gervae as he was very honest about their team and how the process worked. He did not exaggerate, he answered all our questions with sincerity. For my wife and I, it was actually refreshing. So thank you Gervae, job well done! Your honesty and professionalism sets you apart. We also want to extend our thanks to the manager, as they more than often get overlooked; the folks in the background doing all the paperwork and taking care of their team. I had a great experience at the halifax location. They had a vehicle in stock that I've been searching for (certain trim package/transmission etc) so I was excited to do the deal. This is a great way to buy a vehicle at a great price. That being said these are vehicles that were traded in and sold to the customer "as is". Do your research on the vehicle, find out the common issues, get the carfax and get your own inspection done. The staff are very helpful and upfront. Tristen waited on me and I couldn't have asked for a more honest guy to deal with. Go talk to Tristen!

If you've done your research, and know what kind of car you're looking for, this is an excellent way to find a good used car. O'Regan's has access to a huge inventory and some pretty good deals land on their Wholesale Direct lots. The staff (I dealt with Alastair in Halifax) were very helpful, honest straight-up and ready to serve. Alastair encouraged me to take my vehicle to my own mechanic, which he did for me while I had to work and was transparent about how their service worked and what the prices and fees were to make the process as easy as buying a used car could be. They price their vehicles quite fairly and were willing to discuss the price throughout the process. You should always be careful when buying any As-Is vehicle, but Alastair and Wholesale Direct impressed me during the entire experience!

On my one day off, I called and inquired about a vehicle they had in stock. The lady on the phone stated that she would check, getting back to me shortly she said that it was in Halifax and they would transport to Dartmouth for me. I canceled my plans, drove an hour and when I got to the dealership the guys said, " Sorry, it was sold this morning...someone should have called you...". There was no other interaction and no apology...However, on a positive note, I did meet with a sales person ( Anna Gibson) who was very helpful land honest. Having canceled plans on my day off to go hear and to leave with a bitter taste was a disappointment, especially having purchased three vehicles from Oregan's... In talking with sales it appeared to be a miscommunication between the Call Centre and the dealership...

Overall mixed bag here. Sells cars as is and because of that the car history is often overlooked and depending on the salesmen it seems they aren't motivated to move cars. Usually there is am interesting array of cars though.

I can speak to my single experience with O'Reagan's Wholesale Direct. I enjoyed it. The operation is very straight forward. Get a vehicle before it heads to auction. That can sometimes lead to a terrific value. Do your own research because there might be money pits in the bunch too. Research the car that fits your needs. Do you own inspection. Determine if there is a car that day that suits and then spend the money for an independent inspection where ever you like. Line that up before hand. Get that report and determine if you like the deal. Don't fall in love with a car. There will be a another like it soon. There isn't any negotiation on price so there isn't that hassle. For those people that wish to pursue the above, it seems like a great service. Others should perhaps do something else. The people were very friendly and helpful. I felt zero pressure. They shared with me information about the cars that reflected what I had said about my interests. I had a young guy named Thomas who was great. The manager whose name was David I think was also a pleasure to speak with. GET AN INSPECTION THOUGH.
