The service at the front desk was great. I had a coupon to get my oil changed for free and also got my oil switch changed at the same time which they did in a timely manner. After I had paid and got home I looked at my receipt and inspection sheet and they had wrote that I have an oil pan leak from the gasket why didn't they tell me about that prior to changing the oil in the first place upon inspection. I am confused if they would have told me prior I would have got them to change the gasket at the same time as the oil. So now I have to get another oil change how does that make any sense to change the oil with the gasket leaking it doesn't. My free oil change isn't so free if I have to change the gasket and get another oil change in a couple of days. That was a bad call on someones part.

Canadian tire wanted 600$ to do half of what these guys did for a third of the price! These guys get my business for sure.

I was in town for a few days and needed an oil change, I had an add pop up on Facebook on the holiday Monday. I called and left a message. Even though they were closed I got a call back on a holiday and I got booked in Tuesday for the time I wanted. I showed up and they got me right in they did an oil and lube and also did a tire rotation at no charge and I was out in less than an hour. The staff were friendly and the price was exactly as quoted. I am in Grande prairie every couple of months and will likely try to time my oil changes to have them done here. I was back in GP at Thanks Giving and had my SUV this time. It needed an oil change so I called them up. They got me in when I wanted and gave exceptional service again at the price they quoted. My truck is in need of another oil change so hopefully I can get back up to GP soon to have it done.

My wife's 2007 Yukon Denali stalled at a stoplight in town one day and wouldn't restart. She called Rainbow Automotive and they sent out a tow truck and the owner drove out and gave her and our children a ride to the shop. The problem was difficult to diagnose because it was intermittent, but their techs kept working at it and after several tries and suggestions they had it figured out. Also their charges for the time consuming diagnostics were very reasonable! I definitely recommend them.

My first issue is I called for a quote with a woman who made me feel like i was inconveniencing her, then i gave her all my details (more than other places I’ve called needed for a quote), and proceeded to tell me she would get in touch with me with the quote. So i said you’re going to call me back? And she asked me a couple more questions got my number and said she would call me back. 5-10 mins later she called me back (i found this weird because most places gave me a quote right away with minimal info. My other issue is she said it would be a lengthy process and I was looking at a bill for $358. Then she tried to explain it would take at least 2 hours. I was quoted $200 somewhere else and they said it would take 15-20 mins. I will never deal with this place, especially because i am a woman who doesn’t appreciate being taken for an idiot who doesn’t know anything about how the auto business is set up. I recommend you go somewhere where they don’t dupe women. Don’t even bother responding to this review with a “Oh we’re sorry you had a bad experience, come on in” silliness. Not happening

I had brought my 2012 dodge cummins diesel in for an out of province inspection and the only good service I got was when they offered me a ride home from when I had dropped the truck off. When I went and paid for the inspection I got a list of things wrong with it, we had also asked if they could fix the signal light on the side view mirror, that never got done. When I had asked for an estimate for everything to get fixed the receptionist/front desk staff was rude and said it wasn't her job since we weren't supposedly getting it fixed there. When we went to go pick up the truck, which was after hours the back window was half way rolled down. So unless you want your vehicle stolen or to be treated with disrespect just because you're young and own a nice vehicle, don't waste your time or money there. We later took the truck to Fountain Tire, only a couple things wrong and they fixed without hesitation. That's customer service!

I called and got on oil change on my truck. Cheapest place in town for my ram 1500. They are quick and easy to deal with and even washed the outside of the vehicle and vacuumed front floors and washed front floor mats. They have the best service that I have ever received. Will continue to use this shop. Always great service and timely repairs.

I went in with a coupon for a free oil change - ended up paying $70. I asked how much it would have cost without the coupon and they said $135....FOR AN OIL CHANGE! It took an hour to do - they said it would take so long because they rinse the car down afterward. That didn't get done. The absolute worst place I've ever serviced my car. Most definitely never going back.

Amazing staff! Amazing service! Did not feel like I was taken advantage of. When determining the problem they were very quick and paid attention to small details. When fixing the problem they were efficient and offered me a ride/pickup. Felt welcomed when I went back for repair. This is the first time I felt safe driving on the highway in a very long time! I’ve always had a clunking in the back - other repair shops have said it’s the bumper. One even shoved a cloth up there to “fix” the problem. Went here and I am happy to say no more clunking!!! Will reccomend to anyone and everyone. Will be back for sure!!

Why I will not be a returning Rainbow Automotive customer: I was enticed to try R.A. with a promotional free oil change. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming, and explained that the service would take an hour and would include a free car wash, and I would be responsible to pay for any additional fluids that would be added. While completing the service was informed I needed a new fan belt and air filter, and I agreed to the new parts. Installing an air filter is part of a vehicle service, and changing a serpentine belt on by vehicle is a simple 15 minute job at the very most. 1 hour and 15 minutes later I was handed my keys and a bill for $229. Doing the math: Air filter $37, Fan Belt $51, Shop Supplies $11, and Service (supposably free), means that I was charged $141 for a 15 minute belt change. Lesson Learned: 1. It cost more for a "free" oil change than to pay for these services outright. Stay away from their promotion! 2. The underhanded way R.A. calculates the labour rate for their promotion borders on un-ethical (Total shop charge minus a set rate for service). In summary: POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS BEWARE!

Went in to have broken lugs checked, they managed to find a plethora of other problems that the truck was not brought in for. Was quoted $5200 verbally (never received email that I was promised). I had truck towed to another shop and bill is $2600.00. I typically don't ever take the time to post reviews, but this was sketchy at best. They called wheel bearings, hubs, brakes and an upper control arm. Out of all these diagnosed problems the brakes (and broken lugs) were the only issues that jived once the truck was taken to the other shop. Stay away!!!!!!!!!

We had a problem with our Mercedes Sprinter RV a very long way from our home in Alaska. The folks at Grande Prairie got us on our way again in good time, despite one part having to be obtained from the Mercedes dealer in Alberta, next day delivery. The parts were installed promptly as soon as they arrived, so our lost time was minimal. When these good people say they treat you like family, they mean it. We have been around the block (married, 71 years of age, each) and we were treated as well as any business has treated us, ever. I felt that the cost was fair. Thank you!

One star is very fitting for this establishment. From setting an advanced appointment time (that was never met) to the public being misinformed of the FREE INSPECTION service (still have to pay STEEP shop hours) I never was truly satisfied with what I paid and certainly will not be returning to fix the $6600+ bill with them.

Had an out of province inspection on a 2017, 1 ton dodge. The shop managed to create a squeel when braking. Tried to resolve it with that shop to no avail, and the dodge dealer in Dawson failed as well. These guys fixed me up right. No more squeel. They went the extra mile, or two. When they washed and cleaned my truck, which was filthy. Honestly a very great experience, and will be using them in the future.

Pretty disappointed in this place. I had a coupon for an 89.99 synthetic oil change. Every shop I've ever been to told me that synthetic is good for 10,000 kms. I noticed after I got the oil change that the sticker they put on my windshield said 5,000 kms. I called the shop and they told me "Synthetic is only good for 5,000 kms as well.". So why did I pay double the price of a regular oil change?! Seems pretty shady to me. I like supporting local, but I'll stick with Mike's Lube and Clean. They don't try to rip me off and I don't have to make an appointment. Editing my review to the reflect the fact that Dwayne reached out and explained their oil change policies.

I was absolutely blown away by the way I was treated by Rainbow Automotive. I am not from Grand Prairie but my car broke down at 3:30pm on a Saturday. Rainbow Automotive is not open on the weekends but I called their phone number and someone picked up the phone. I forget their names but the Husband was working on his personal car and his wife happened to be in the office when I called. They were both very accommodating. They let me keep my groceries in the staff room fridge! The mechanic scrambled to get parts for my car as the other businesses were closing soon. I received a phone call at 11:00pm that my car had been fixed and was ready for pick up. I am still in shock that they worked on my car until 11:00pm on their day off. When I went to drive out of the shop the mechanic said that he felt bad that he did not get a chance to wash the car as that was what they always did for their customers. I still get chills thinking about how nice these two employees were to me, a stranger. I am seriously considering driving the three hours to Rainbow Automotive for any future maintenance that I need done on my vehicles. It was nice to be treated like a person and not seen as an easy target to make a buck. Thank you again for saving my weekend! I truly am grateful for your kindness!

Worst service bay ive ever seen super sexist i was away for work the girlfriend took her car there to be fixed they charged her 1500plus for repairs all they did was replace the rotars and bulbs and in doing so figured it was a good idea to reuse the old warn out pads and fix the calibers with silicone now they claimed they also fixed the ac which was a lie and when they supposedly replaced the bulbs it was kinda odd when they still weren't working hmmmmmm how many other sketchy repairs did they do other costumers

I requested we have our used parts given back to us when I picked up our truck and they only gave us 75% of what we asked for, as the others “went to the garbage.”

I can't put zero stars so 1 it is. Had service done and car came out with oil leak, tire light on and a hard pull. When I went back to have it checked, service guy was argumentative and blamed me for the issues. Do NOT recommend grande prairie auto repair!
